A well known city can not simply drop off the face of the earth...can it?
A well known, popular, trade capital has had a very sudden decline, all due to a new king. Or so the people thought. The first few months of this man's rule went well, with a flourishing city, becoming richer by the hour due to the trading of it's people with outsiders. This city was a safe-haven for most, full of peace and life, then things began to change. Slowly, almost not noticeable. The people saw more of the Kings guards roaming the streets, the cities rules being enforced more strictly. Then...people were starting to disappear. One by one the population of this city vanished. The towns people had been forcibly located underground, into a system of caverns, forced to become the king's slaves. Forced to mine deep into the earth for valuable resources, that had no use to the people who had once lived above ground in prosperity. These once happy people have been isolated from everything an everyone, they haven't seen sunlight in ten years. There have been rumors of a rebellion among the younger workers, but will it be successful?

Jen shifted in her seat he long platinum blonde hair brushing the ground as she worked on cleaning off the stones that had just come out of the mine and from the chipping room where all the remaining rock was chipped away. Jen's eyes were a deep emerald green and people often wondered if she had been made instead of born because of how closely they resembled the stone. Jen looked up when she heard one of the guards call out for all the dancers to report to the front room so they could head to the castle for a command performance. this told her they would be taking the underground tunnel to the castle to perform since they would normally go through to the back room if they were headed above ground. Jen hated performing for the king and his general since they were the reason everyone was locked below ground. the Kings desire for more wealth had caused them all so much pain in the last ten years but not wi seemed like things would be better soon as the rebellion took place. Jen missed the elderly king as while he did have dancers they were all free and could enjoy life in the sun. Jen missed the sun being a mix between a light elf and a nature elf she was able to survive with out the sun but she always felt stronger when she had both.

Greg sat in a stool next to the king and watched at all the nobles paraded their annoying daughters in front of the king for his approval as they were hoping he would take one of them for his bride. the king had been told and he would soon need to produce and heir to the kingdom. Greg had chuckled when the male had told the advisor in clear terms that he would have a child when he was damn good and ready to and not before

If you weren't nobility, you went sent down to the cavern below to mine for the valuable resources to increase the wealth of the kingdom. You were the slaves of the king, forced to do as he said whenever he said. In particular he had a fancy for woman, and often called for the dancers to come and preform for him. And today seeing his precious dancers would help him calm down a bit, since he was getting more than annoyed with the damn nobles and showing off their daughters. His stupid advisor was insisting that he have wed one of these woman and produce an heir, obviously forgetting that he already had a daughter. Granted his daughter was more seen than heard, it was still his child. But at the same time... his advisor had made it very clear that a male had to be born, that only a male could take the throne. Yeah that had the king telling his advisor to fuck off, it was his kingdom.

While the dancers were being heard up to the throne room, a delicate young woman with long jet black hair hanging down to the middle of her back drifted down the stairs, wearing a beautiful crimson red gown. Her ice blue eyes gazed around for a brief moment in time before she was heading over towards where her father was sitting, after opening her fan and shielding her face as she walked up. It was pretty rare that she actually showed her face when their were strangers around, her father wanting to take to protecting her as much as he could. "Welcome my daughter. The dancers shall be arriving shortly as well." her father greeted and she was drifting past him and took her seat next to him in the other throne that was there.

"And now for tonight's entertainment. Bring them in!" Aaron, the king, called out and was holding out a hand. An indication to the guards to open the doors so that the dancers could come into the room. The other nobles all taking to getting out of the way so that the dancers had room to dance. "Greg. Get me one of my drinks, and find out if the princess would like anything." Aaron spoke after a moment as he glanced towards his general. This was also so that another servant could get him a more comfortable seat, which would be placed the king and the princess, where the general typically sat when the two were together, and it wasn't like there wasn't a good three feet between the two thrones.

The young twenty-two year old princess just glanced towards her father for a brief moment in time before her eyes were flickering towards the doors. Tatiana really wasn't overly keen on being there but she hadn't had much of a choice in the matter. The Silent Princess as she had been dubbed... this was the first time that she had ever been present when the dancers were there. But her father had insisted. Had made her leave the safety of her tower chambers, and her magic books. Yes her bed chamber was within a tower, but it was by her own choice. It was a rather large living area and she didn't really have to worry about anybody bothering her at all. So if that is what she wanted, then that is what Aaron would deliver.

Jen was the last to enter the room behind all the other dancers. there were fourteen of them so there would be fourteen different dances performed. Jen's hair was brushed out and styled like all the others but unlike the others the tips of her ears were carefully hidden from view so that no one in the room could see that she was an elf. a little bit of light magic had made her emerald green dress shimmer a little as she walked and would look amazing while she danced. seeing there they was a female present had her frowning a little since morally there was only the king his general and the nobles who were always it seemed to be pestering him. Jen moved and stood with the others as the first girl moved to the center of the room and when the music started she began to dance.

Greg nodded his head and then turned to the princess "my lady is there anything you wish to drink" Greg knew there were only a few dancers that the king truly watched with interest as they never had the same dance twice but those people were towards the end so it would be some time before they saw anything new that would hold the kings interest. while they were waiting Greg would make sure the two never ran out of drinks and would keep the king up to date on what was going on below ground since it was easier for him to get information then anyone else in the kingdom

Tatiana looked towards Greg before she spoke in a soft, almost musical voice, "Yes please. My usual drink if you don't mind." She trusted the man to not do anything to her drink, and not to fuck it up. He had been around her long enough and knew what she liked and didn't like. She turned her attention back towards the dancers for a moment in time, and looked towards her father, who was definitely watching some of them intently. Yet again the first few dancers were the ones whose dances never seemed to change, about the only different this time with a few of them were the music was different. It actually had Aaron giving a yawn, an indication that he was already bored. Man how long before things got ugly that night.

Jen moved forward and could tell that he was getting board and with quick work she changed the line up so that there was an even mix of old and new routines so that he was at least entertained. Jan then knew she would have to be next to keep from them all getting in to trouble. Jen moved forward when he rsong started to play. Jen then moved right in to the center and started to dance. with this dance being new she knew it would keep his attention and show the girl that they needed to come up with something different for each time they were called or they risked getting in to trouble.

Greg headed off and got the two their drinks before he returned and handed the king his drink and then the princess her own. when he looked up he noticed that the one dancer who was normally the last one to dance was dancing closer to the beginning and it had him wondering why she was doing that

Aaron just watched for a brief moment in time before he was giving a small frown when the line up was changed up. Although it was soon obvious as to why the line had been changed. A mixture of old dances and new dances it seemed, which definitely had Aaron leaning back in his seat a bit more. He was accepting his drink from Greg with a thanks before gesturing for the man to sit down for a while, and just watched the blonde haired dancer as she danced.

Tatiana accepted her drink with a soft thank you before she was taking a sip out of it, as usual keeping her face hidden. Although she was spotting a few of the other magic users that worked under her father. She felt magic radiating around them which told her that they were up to something as usual. Of course that wasn't okay with Tatiana since usually somebody got hurt, which is what had her eyes seems to change from an icy blue to a golden color and their magic was suddenly cancelled out. This was one of her unique abilities since birth... negate power. A power that allowed her to cancel out any other abilities, although she usually only did it when necessary or when people were plotting to use magic to cause harm to others.

Jen moved with the music and when it ended she moved back in to the group and allowed for another person to move forward and dance. the mix up made things so much better. Jen figured when they returned below she would help the others create new dances since it didn't take her long to memorize and perfect her own so helping the others would be a good thing. Jen felt the power negation kick in and she fought back against it she didn't like it when her powers were smothered like that and it also cause a little bit of pain for her as well as she was more sensitive to it

"Father. Your magic users are up to their tricks again." Tatania spoke to her father in a soft voice, her voice only heard by that of himself and Greg. This had the man leaning around the pair and was casting a glare towards the two, which had them going to sit down quickly. Tatiana's eyes went from the golden color from when she was using her ability to their normal icy blue color. Oh she could already foresee things getting ugly. One of the nobles was very drunk and had taken to grabbing one of the dancer's pulling her onto his lap, which had the drunk man next to him fighting with him over the one particular dancer. And here began the trouble... but at least this was closer to the end of all of the dancers. Aaron was standing up rather abruptly before he spoke, "Enough you two. The dancers belong to me, and a few lucky dancers will have the privilege of sleeping with me tonight. And perhaps baring me a child. If you volunteer that is better for you. Willing bear my child and you will be allowed to remain aboveground, unless of course something happens to the child or you are unable to get pregnant."

Tatiana rose to her feet as well after her father did, just fluttering her fan in front of her face a little before she spoke, "Sir Greg, would you mind accompanying me back to my chambers... I am feeling a little overwhelmed with all of these people." Well she was a bit of a recluse, since she usually stayed in her tower, and her father didn't seem to mind that she was leaving. This also meant walking through people to get to the doors that allowed them to leave the ballroom. There was a reason in particular she asked Greg to go with her, because men tended to get grabby.

"of course princess" Greg put a gentle hand on her lower back as he guided her through the group of people so that they could get out of there and he could take her back to her tower or at least its entrance. given that she was a strong magic user he had a feeling that her tower was spelled and safe so he wouldn't have to check it.

all of the dancers moved back and hid behind Jen feeling safer there then anywhere else "no thank you we all have work we need to get back to" while she loved the feel of the sun on her back she also knew that staying there would only make things worse. Jen had a feeling it wouldn't matter if they didn't want to stay or not she had a feeling that at least one of them was going to be forced to remain

Tatiana gave a faint smile before she was drifting off through the crowd and was grateful to be out of the stuffy ballroom, which had her letting out a small breath of air. "How on earth Father can stand being around so many people, is a mystery to me." she spoke after a moment in time as she was closing the fan. Now that it was just her and Greg, she really had no reason to hid her features.

Aaron looked towards them for a moment in time before he spoke, "Let me rephrase this. One of you will will be staying and bearing my child." With that he was snapping his fingers which had his magic users stepping forward.

"no we won't" Jen was already pulling on her own powers getting ready to make it so that none of them were stuck there with the male. Jen and the others wanted nothing to so with the male. Jen wasn't scared the magic users since if they were taught and not natural they were no where near as strong as she was.

"it takes time and practice he is so use to it now that it doesn't bother him anymore" Greg rubbed her back gently :"in time you will get use to it princess but no need to push yourself to do it either"

Tatiana gave a nod before she was glancing back at the ballroom for a moment especially when the doors were flying up and a servant was hurrying out. Seems like magic was out of control which had her giving a faint sigh before her eyes were turning gold, and everybody found that they weren't able to use their powers at all. With that she was turning and continuing on to her room.

while the magic users had been distracted by some of the things she had done Jen and the others had been able to get out of the room at least that was before her powers seemed to dull. because of their origin they couldn't be fully knocked out but they could severely reduced. Jen didn't like that someone was able to do that to her but figured it was better that they were well on their way out of the castle when it had happened

Tatiana made it to the tower door that lead up to her room before she was finally releasing the nullifying magic, her eyes turning back to their icy blue once again. Although she did find herself using the wall for support for a brief moment in time. Such a taxing ability to control, and there were so few people that even knew that it was her that possessed the ability. Those that lived in the palace knew that Tatiana was a magic user, but they didn't know about her bloodline ability, one in which she was the first to obtain in almost five generations. Probably a good thing that this wasn't an ability that Aaron had managed to obtain. The dancers were taken down to the caverns once again, at least most of them. There were a few that had decided that they were going to stay behind to please the king.

Jen shook her head she found the others who had stayed stupid to do so since once the king was done with them they would become toys for the guards just like so many others before them had. Jen looked at the others and then called on the plants to make sure that the tunnels stayed secure and that they were all safe. the mining had caused some stability issues in many o the tunnels and had it not been for her they would all have either been killed or badly injured

Aaron ended up disappearing for a few hours with the few dancers that had stayed behind, which didn't really shock many people. While he was busy, Tatiana had taken to leaving her tower and had drifted outside to go to her alchemy garden so that she could gather some of her herbs. As usual she had her fan with her, especially considering there were a number of foreign people within the palace, and she would rather not have to deal with them.
"Oh man look at this. What a babe." came a male's voice from out of nowhere, and Tatiana found herself giving a startled shriek when she was all of a sudden grabbed from behind, the fan falling onto the ground. Oh man the two guys that were always causing problems for her, because they just couldn't take no for a damn answer, it was irritating. "Kindly release me." Tatiana spoke after a moment in time, although there was a slight quiver to her voice.

Greg often checked on her when someone mentioned they had seen her leave the tower and this time was no different one of the maids hand mentioned to him that she was out and he like normal was headed to check on her. when he arrived he spotted the males pestering her and instead of hollering out she quietly walked up behind them. Tatiana would see him and know she was safe so she could be stronger but unless they turned and looked at him they wouldn't know he was there

"You know.... It is nice when that damn general to your father isn't following you around. You are so much more timid, and more docile." one of the guys spoke and was actually reaching to slide a hand into her dress. Although he definitely wasn't expecting the usually timid female to knee him in the groin and telling him not to touch her in a firm voice. "Stupid bitch. You will regret touching me like that." the guy snarled and his companion actually had the audacity to punch the poor female in the stomach, which had her staggering backwards fighting for her breath for a brief moment in time. Man that was a bad idea with Greg right there....especially when the male turned around and saw the general standing there. "Oh fuck...." was all he could say.

Greg smiled and then with ease restrained the two males and called for more guards "you two were stupid attacking the princess like that I now have what I need to lock you both away and if your lucky the king will just send you down in to the mines if not you will be severely punished maybe even killed to prove a point to other guards. once the two were taken from him by others Greg moved and scooped her up off the ground and in to his arms safely

Tatiana just watched as the two men were restrained and then other guards were coming up to take them away, Greg speaking to them before they were taken away. Although the two noble bastards figured that they were safe from being punished since they were nobility. "My father will not take kindly to hearing how you harmed me, and threatened to have your way with me." Tatiana spoke after a moment in time although it wasn't long before she was being scooped up off of the ground, and into Greg's arms, which had her giving a startled squeak. "Um.... You can put me down...." she spoke after a moment in time, her voice soft.

"nope I am taking you to see the doc just to be sure all your going to have is a bruise and then I will let you wanted alone for a while" Greg was stubborn and strong enough to make sure she did indeed go to see the doctor since he would rather have all good news for her father then not

"I will go see the doctor in a little bit. I need to get these herbs picked before I completely forget about them." Tatiana spoke after a moment in time as she just looked at him. Usually when she said she would do something then she would do it, but she wanted to get her task done first. It wasn't as if it was going to take her overly long, and then after seeing the doctor she could retreat back to her chambers.

Greg looked at her firmly but didn't say anything for a moment "I will remind you but because they did attack you I have to report it to your father and if I have good news like it is just a bruise the better also I will remind you to pick your herbs after wards"

Tatiana just looked at him for a moment before she spoke, "But we are already outside and they are literally three feet to your right...." No she wasn't trying to be stubborn she was just trying to do something that made more sense. And then she didn't have to venture back outside again. Yet again she was just falling into her role of Silent Princess once again, her eyes downcast. If he said anything else she wasn't going to argue it at all. She was to be seen not heard. That is how she had been raised, that is how she needed to act.

"Tatiana it is better for us both if I can assure your father you were mostly unharmed he won't insist on a full time guard for doubt the longer we delay it the worse things can get" Greg then carried her to the doctors so she could get looked at
