SirPrize and MissFortune (newbalogna)

Prize, having gotten dressed, made a dramatic "dum dum dum!" With his mouth, and then pretended to look around.
"Where does that music keep cing from?" He shouted, mock frustrated.
Then he straighted up, and mustering the most serious look he could, told Fortune "All the opportunities dear sister. All of them."

"That's the best kind! Let's go!" She took his hand and they ran out the door, heading to school and then going to class. They greeted Irina before class started and then sat down. By lunch, they made plans to eat with Irina. They got together and went out to the courtyard, sitting on a bench near a large tree.
"Ahhh, lunch time. It's always so hard waiting to eat. What did you bring today Irina-chan?"
Irina-Just a simple bento.
She opened a small bento with some healthy foods, mostly rice and veggies, all neatly packed. The siblings also had bentos, which Fortune made.... well, her rabbits did, but she liked taking the credit. They opened them and they both had rabbit faces in the rice.

Prize handled his chopsticks very cautiously and clumsily for many reasons.
First, he was still upset that he flubbed the family thing yesterday, and didn't want to ruin things with Irina further.
Also, because he didn't know anything about Irina or her likes, so it gave him something to do.
But mostly, because he was still terrible with chopsticks.
A veggie flew up into the air as his chopsticks crossed from him applying too much pressure.
He dove to catch it in his mouth, and was able to catch it, but not without sliding on the grass.
He threw both his arms up in a victory pose, face still down in the grass. "Ya-TA!"

Both Irina and Fortune giggled at his display.
"You're still bad with chopsticks onii-chan"
Irina-Heheheh, sorry for laughing. You're so good with chopsticks Christi-san. And your japanese is perfect. How did you learn these things when your brother.... uhm, no offense, didn't as much?
"That's easy. I actually put in the effort. Onii-chan is kinda lazy."

"I am NOT lazy!" He said, his voice muffled by both his chewing of the veggie, and also because his face was still on the grass.
"I am strategic with my marshalling of vital resources."
He suddenly rolled onto his side, and looked his sister in the eyes. "And how can you call me lazy? I work so hard to keep us afloat financially. Christie. Sutton."

"Yeah you do. Not much motivation outside that though. You should really get a hobby onii-chan. You need something to do so you can relax and unwind"
Irina-Heh, you two are such cute siblings. I can tell how well you get along.
"Oh, do you have any siblings Irina-chan?"
Irina-Oh, no. I'm an only child. I always thought it'd be fun to have a younger sibling, but it just.... never happened.
"That's too bad. I couldn't imagine being without onii-chan"

Prize took a moment to look to the sky.
"A hobby, eh? I really pegged myself more as the karoshi sort."
More silence.
"What hobby do you think I should look into, Ayano-san?'

Irina-Well, certainly not working yourself to death. There are lots of fun things you can do. I enjoy reading, you can also draw, or you can take up origami. There's also sports, even just going for a jog. You're certain to find something you enjoy if you look around a little.
"That's some good advice. Onii-chan IS pretty good with his hands, so maybe origami would suit him" She nudged him with her elbow and looked at him suggestively, so she couldn't see of course.

Prize shrugged. "Do you know origami, Ayano-san? The only thing I know about paper these days is school papers and work forms."
He took a moment to look at his sister, trying to gauge if he was doing it right.
"Maybe you could teach me, if you know."

Irina-I'm not very skilled at.... well most things really. So i'm afraid i'm not good at origami either. Do you know any origami Christi-san?
"Not really. I can do shuriken though."
Irina-That's already more than i can do, heheheh.
"So Irina-chan, what do you do after school ends?"
Irina-Well, usually i just go home. I don't really have much of a social life, and my father is fairly strict.
"Ah, a strict dad? That explains why you don't have a boyfriend"
Irina-Eh? Wh-wh
She blushed and started fidgeting.
"Come on. Someone as pretty as you. There's gotta be SOME boys interested in you"
Irina-Eh? No no no.

Prize chuckled. "Is my sister being rude again, Ayano-san? Should I pinch her until she stops?"
He turned to Fortune, frowning. "Christi, what did I tell you about grilling people you just met about their private details?"
His features softened as he looked back at Irina. "I'm sorry, Ayano-san. My sister means well. She wants to be everyone's friend, and help people."

"We're friends aren't we? Girlfriends like to talk about this kinda stuff" She crossed her arms and puffed her cheeks up.
Irina-It's ok. I just wasn't expecting such a question. People don't confess to me, my family is..... unusual. Let's just say they tend to scare potential friends off.
"They sound interesting to me."
Irina-...you really think i'm pretty?
"Are you kidding? Just look at yourself. You're super adorable" Irina blushed and smiled a little.

"I'm sorry your family is so strict," Prize said. "But I understand. I can sometimes scare away boys from Christi. It's not that I don't want her to have the teenage experience. It's just that I work very hard, and I'm always afraid that I can't be around to keep her safe, especially at this age. So it's just easier to keep them all away."
Prize shrugged.
"I'm sorry, sis. I know it's a sore point."

"On the one hand it helped when a bunch of boys kept bothering me. But on the other hand some of the boys that ask me out are really nice. Onii-chan is the best though, so i guess i can bear it" She leaned over and hugged him.
Irina-You two are such cute siblings. You have such a good relationship, and you look after each other so much. How do you do it?
"What can we say? We just.... mesh"

Prize smiled deeply as he hufgged his sister.
"So don't be too hard on your family when they're strict. They probably just want to keep you safe even when they aren't there in the moment."
He kissed Fortune on her forehead.
"In any case. I don't have to work while I'm here, so I get to relax more. And so does Christi. And she's looking forward to that."

"Yeah. Being in Japan has been a great experience for both of us"
Irina-I'm glad my country has been so good to you two.
"Enough about us, let's talk more about you. You mentioned your dad, what does he do?"
Irina-.................banking.

Prize sighed.
"That's tough. He probably works really long hours and not only is it hard for him to explain what he does, but he probably even wonders if he accomplishes anything after working all those hours, moving virtual money from this to that account."

Irina-.....yes. He does work quite a lot, but he tries really hard to be around for me and mother. I think he's a great father, despite what some people say.... uhm, cause bankers aren't popular with some people....
"I think he sounds like a nice person. What's your mother like?"
Irina-Oh, she's the best mother anyone could have. She's kind, and gentle. She's always around when i need her. She even takes the time to make lunches for me every day. Honestly i think she works harder than she needs to, but she insists on it.

Prize became very silent.
He finally sighed, ponderously.
"I miss mom. Christi has mastered making mom's lunches, but sometimes that makes me miss her even more."

"I miss her too onii-chan" She hugged him and laid her head on his chest.
Irina-Oh, i'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up painful memories
"It's ok. I was the one talking about this stuff. Besides, it's nice to remember all the happy things. Enough sad talk though. Do you wanna go shopping with me this weekend? I haven't had the chance to really look around yet, and it'd be great to have a friend showing me around and shopping with me"
Irina-eh? You're actually asking me to go out and have fun?
"Yep"
Irina blushed and looked down a bit
Irina-Alright. If you're ok with me.
"Yay! Onii-chan can come along to carry the bags!"

Prize became limp, and sighed. "Great. My Japanese vacation. Shopping."
He shot his sister as cold glance, before averting his gaze so he could sulk properly.

"Don't worry Onii-chan. I'll buy a super cute gift for you to make it worth it."
Irina-You don't have to come along if you really don't want to Alex-san
"Yeeeeees he does. You'll come with us, right o-nii-chan?"

Prize laughed. "As if I'll let my sister venture out alone in the futuristic city that inspired Blade Runner."
He finished laughing. "Don't worry, Ayano-san. I'll do anything for my sister. Anything at all. This is hardly a task worth getting worked up about."

Irina-Ah, such a kind brother.
The bell rang soon after and they had to go to class. After school they parted ways as they made way for home.
"Hm....Onii-chan, we'll need to get some money to go shopping. It'd be pretty suspicious if we went around stealing everything. Ooh! This'll be a good chance to be a japanese high school girl prostitute! Then after i fuck the guys you can kill 'em and take the rest of their money!"

Prize glowered at her.
"Fortune! I told you! I needed my pimp hat! And my cane! But you were all 'no room on carry on'. And now look at what you've done."
He sniffled a little. "I could have pimped you out," he said, low key whining as he crossed his arms in a huff.
