The Dance (DarkofNight & wiki234)

Gale had her hand under her chin with her arm on the table looking a bit bored with the topic after a bit as he was already hoping he was that fun and joking kind of guy but of course not wanting to set her standard too high it seemed still. But knowing since she didn’t actually really agree on the date and just did it because of the offer, she didn’t even mind breaking up with him already of course after she had to use him just to get in but deciding that he would make him work for it because she could. “ you don’t just ask a girl so casually like that you know, but I don’t really care for dances anyway so I guess..” as again she went to the idea it really wasn’t a real date but a way to get at her brother and even try to get him to get away from the other girl.

Will took the check off the table, placing a few large bills in the small folder and leaving it to be collected before Gale could even steal a glance at it. Will looked up at her with a conspiratorial grin. "You say that as if you're reading out of Emily Post's rules of etiquette. Want to know a secret? I do what I want." he stood, offering her a hand. "Ready to go?"

“ whatever...” she definitely didn’t see him as someone she would really date for real as it seemed even he wasn’t really that bright of a person as of course that was the point of why she said that in wanting to have a bit of meaning when he asked anyway than anything. The girl really didn’t even know him much at all and kthe was really weird to think that she didn’t already know about that just by figuring it out. Her brother really had weird friends as gale slowly stood up with a stretch before slowly walking out.

He took Gale's hand, walking her back to his car. "Has anyone ever told you that you're a strange person?" he asked her with a smile. "You seem so cold and haughty, but I can't tell what you seem to be so proud about. Then you go on and on, being hyper critical of the way people are supposed to behave in social situations when for the most part, you're a loner who until recently just spent most of her free time with her brother." He laughed to himself. "Maybe I can help you pull your head out of your own ass."

She quickly pulled her hand away after hearing what he said to her, an arrogant asshole pretending to be a nice guy...just her luck it would be harder than ever to pull off her stupid plan. “ ummm well there’s a few stupid things wrong with that....how does that make me a loner when I spending a bit of time with family? Actually you can help me by fucking the hell off then...I’m really done with you not every damn girl you meet is just gonna turn over and say how much they love you or other stupid shit like that. I’m really not a damn sucker for any of that, you really are an asshole aren’t you...” as she steps into his car and sighs leaning back.

He laughed and shook his head, watching the petulant girl tell him off and then have the nerve to get into his car. He placed the key back in his pocket and walked off down the street, leaving the car and Gale sitting where they had been. "Only trying to help. But there's that fool pride again. Oh well, a nice night for a walk at any rate."

He grinned to himself and turned a corner, wondering how long Gale was going to wait before she realized he wasn't coming back.

Soon she got out, “ jeez who the hell tell a girl after dinner that she’s a cold blooded ass that doesn’t seem too care about anything and someone who’s just about arrogance. “ talking to herself as crossed her arms and takes out her phone to call her brother to get her. “ yeah mark your friends being a total bitch for no reason, and I have no ride....” walking back inside the restaurant and sitting down since it would be already cold.

Mark arrived in less than 10 minutes. Amanda waved from the passenger seat as Gale approached. She must have interrupted a date.

"You know, most people wait until they're actually a couple before they have fights on dates." Mark commented as she got into the back seat.

"Oh be nice to her." Amanda said, smacking Mark lightly on the shoulder. "She had a bad date." Amanda turned in her seat. "Forget your brother, we can get ice cream and have a girls night if you want!"

Mark dropped Amanda off. She gave him a quick peck on the lips before running off into her house.

"Want to come sit up front?"

Gale yawned with a stretch as she slowly got in the back having a feeling that the only thing she would have known him doing was going with that girl. “ fuck off..” she said softly to marks comment as she crossed her arms totally pissed off more than anything. “ whatever...” replying to Amanda’s comment as she was mostly quiet and going on her phone mostly the whole time ignoring his question as well, waiting to just go home. “ you have a shit friend...” quickly telling him as she went upstairs.

"He's not my friend. He's just on the swim team with me. I figured you'd realize that since he's never been to the house, and it's not like I really talk to him at school either. You shouldn't be rude to Amanda either. She was trying to be nice to you." He scowled as he went to the kitchen for a glass of water. "You're better than that."

“I never even said anything....I’m just seeing a lot of assholes and stupid people, I’m not cold to just about anyone and I don’t hate her...” replying as she went for her room and mostly did her own thing for the rest of the night.

Mark knocked on her door early the next morning, then barged in when she didn't answer. "Morning sis, hope you're feeling better. I made pancakes for breakfast if you want to come down and talk about what happened last night." He smiled. "That's the good news. I might have bad news, you let me know when you're ready to hear it."

The girl was of course still asleep through most of the morning as she slowly moved around under the blanket for a bit before sitting up and scratching her head. " I'm not sad or anything, just pissed off as hell." Gale stood up with a stretch before walking down, " bad news has to be about her or something? Probably might not care...." shrugging as she sat down and started to eat.

"Well, I don't know how you feel about people meddling in your social life right now, but Amanda kind of got you a date for the dance..." Mark laughed, embarrassed it had fallen on him to relay that information. "Her cousin James just broke up with his girlfriend and needed a date. We figured you weren't going with Will at this point. He's a little shy and reserved, but you might hit it off." Mark stood, headed for the door. "I'll let you get dressed, I'm taking you and Amanda dress shopping at noon."

“ jeez feels weird Amanda even sees me as friend when I haven’t even met her..” she thought with a sigh, though of course would assume she was nice like that since mark would of course have gotten it from her if he said anything. “ your seeing me as a replacement, that’s stupid...but fine...if you even think it will work. He better not end being a total cock like will was...” not really believing him still as she stretched and went back up to change then, soon coming out in grey pants, a grey long sleeved top and a black and white colored jacket.

Mark cleaned up from breakfast and drove them to pick up Amanda. Amanda was excited to have someone other than Mark to shop with. After trying on three dresses she settled on a red one slit up one leg to mid thigh. After that, she concentrated all of her effort into making sure Gale found the perfect dress, even if that meant alternating between finding more for her to try on, being very supportive and holding hands with Mark.

She didn’t really feel like they could be really friends, she even found her friendliness more than annoying if anything even if it did seem weird. Gale was mostly to herself as she had left the group when they were at the store to find something before Amanda would decide to just go ahead and help her anyway. Gale really hated seeing that kind of dress in particular since she never understood the slit design being so stupid accept for some rare occasions, but the dress she picked was not one she really liked much. She didn’t really think of trying any on before eventually doing so with only one set being black stockings and a white dress with black trimmings in the shape of petals around the edges and the front of the dress, though an awkward spot that the top had an open part in the middle to show off her cleavage but it was hard not to choose it though.

Finally slipping it on with a slight groan and sigh she walked out to check it in a mirror and have a way to what it would feel like walking while wearing it. “ stupid...” thinking to herself with the glance of them holding hands as she came back in to change normally and get the dress.
