It has been 900 years since humanity has reached achievements that one could only dream of, it was beyond their expectations.
By now Humans have colonized many planets, moons, and even asteroids. In fact, they were the most numerous species throughout this quadrant of the Milky Way. Their numbers, persistence, and resourcefulness had even influenced other species that they share the space with.
They forced a Galactic Trade Language onto the quadrant, and made quite a name for themselves among the other species. Some good, some not so good...But they all agreed to one thing; what Humans lacked in wisdom they made up for it with ruthlessness and numbers.
But their terraforming technology wasn't the only one that was quite advanced. On the military and medical field they proved to be quite the competition for the other Factions.
Like today per example...On the Jovian moon called Ganymede.
Doctor Lorenzo Orfeo, a man of Italian descent. He was tall, dark cropped hair, icy blue eyes and a great physique...He was quite popular with the females...But that doesn't matter. He had patients to attend to, and one of them had been 'asleep' for a very long time.
He anticipated some minor problems with this one. Cryo-Technology around, when was it....2100-2200? Yes, that's when Cryo-Technology managed to keep patients alive at that point, and not turn them into frozen corpse-sickles. In fact, as they managed to tweak out the bugs they even started to use the method as a crime sentence. It proved to be successful, and had quite the psychological effect on calming down the individuals. But the best part was that it granted them a second chance to do right again.
The doctor picked up the 'hand terminal'. It was a flat sheet of crystal-like device that was see-through. It was about the size of those retro Iphones a few centuries back.
Upon swiping a finger over it, the interface lit up in a bright orange color as he began to tap away. Sifting through the data of patient 2105-0816-47.
"Drake Relic...a successful assassin...Too successful apparently so they sentenced him to the Cryo," he said as he read the info.
"An Assassin? Oh my...He'll be lost since that profession has practically been outlawed," the female nurse responded.
She was a pretty little thing. Bubblegum pink hair, luscious red lips, a body with curves in all the right places. Build to perfection and nearly indistinguishable from the real thing if it weren't for those subtle lines in her synthetic skin.
"Oh, I wouldn't be too worried for his type. There's always room for people of his..." he tried to think of the right word.
"Background, doctor?" Nurse Mary said, her voice pleasant and smooth.
"Yes, his background." He added some notes into the file, it wouldn't be hard to find a place for him to fit in although the rehabilitation center will most likely try to push him into less violent professions. Perhaps as a miner on one of the asteroids, or a dockworker.
He chuckled at the thought of trying to tame an assassin. And according to his files, this one will never be leashed.
"Alright then, let's commence shall we?"
The android nodded with a smile as she turned to the table in font of her, staring at the patient that was enclosed in some type of incubator. Much like the type they use on premature babies.
The body had already been 'unfrozen' and moved, now it was just a question of 'reviving' them.
So after pressing some commands into the interface of the table, beeps and a soft whirling sound began to be heard. Ever so slowly the changes in pressure, the medicine mixed into the oxygen, etc... would stimulate the body to work on its own again.
But considering that this man was frozen using outdated Cryo-Technology, it was bound to be a rough ride for him. Nausea, coughing, disorientation, shock...
The moment the patient's lungs began to fill with air, the nurse lowered the encasing, trying to sooth him. "It's alright, take your time."
