She cooked when she came home from working even though she looked tired. She must not have been used to it. When she did feel like talking, it was usually questions, little things she was curious about.
"Can you blame us...?" She asked softly, "We aren't told anything for ten years except how dangerous and mysterious the wolves were. How we couldn't do anything but obey you. How if we do anything wrong, you have every right to kill us..."
She stood quietly before looking up at him, "What happened to your mate...? The girl before me...Nina said you were bonded before but didn't want to disrespect your privacy by telling me herself..."
He took a breath before sighing. "There were two before y o. One died of old age, peacefully, in bed.. the other was taken from me.. that's why I was bumped from a warrior to a scout.." he said.
"The one who took her from me accused me of being a traitor so the chief's council demoted me.. the Chieftain did not agree with this, but I reluctantly agreed.. at least I was spared death.."
She placed her hands hesitantly on his chest before pressing against him, resting her head between her hands. "You're very gentle for someone who could easily tear me apart..." She teased softly.
She actually laughed a bit, a noise he loved instantly. "Thank you for being so patient with me..." She said,, "I'm slowly coming to terms with everything..."
It took a bit longer but she finally came around. She wasn't super skittish around the other males and greeted Adonis happily when he came home. How lucky he was to have such a bronze colored beauty as his bride. Maybe he could finally ask to have an offical binding ceremony with her now.
