She had been preparing herself for this moment her whole life. It had been tradition for all the human villages that lived in the region. In order to keep the protection of the wolves, a young girl was selected to be offered to one of the tribes. She remembered when she was younger that there was a girl ten years her senior was offered up to the beings that lived deep in the woods. And she was chosen not soon after.
She was eighteen now, and Genesis stood in wait for the ones who would take her from her home. She tried to be confident but she was dead terrified. What was going to happen to her after they took her away? She didn't know. She didn't even know what the wolves looked like.
 
Meanwhile, up in the village, Adonis was exiting the breeders den. He didn't enjoy it really, but, the chieftain had requested that he frequent the den. He had been by his lonesome for just about a decade now, and was wondering if he would ever be granted another mate.
 
When the wolves came for her, she felt like a hare caught in a trap. They were all massive, towering over her easily. They were all anthropomorphic, standing on their muscular hind legs easily. They wore simple robes with beads and feathers and rather beautiful embroidery with some type of warpaint in their fur; maybe it was like a showing of rank. They led her gently away to her new home, she nervously gripped her dress in her hands as she followed them.
 
Adonis looked down the mountain and sighed as he saw the girls being brought up toward them. That time again.
 
Genesis was surprised to see other girls with her. She was lined up with them as an older, greying wolf looked them all over. She heard him say some names to a couple girls before they were guided away, another was examined for a long time before he said something about a den - which seemed to deeply upset this girl. More names, another sent to this den, before the wolf stopped at Genesis. He looked her over slowly and she tried to keep her fear from showing. The wolf made a noise, "Adonis." He said finally and she looked confused. Adonis? Who was Adonis?
 
Adonis looked over in shock. He looked to his mate to be. She was beautiful. She was young, she was perfect. He ealked over to her. He was massive, muscular, chest and face pocked with small scars.
 
Oh. That was Adonis. He was indeed massive, probably bigger than the ones who brought her over. His fur was almost solid black with a plush looking pale blue mane. Was it dyed that color? Was it another rank thing? She didn't know. All she knew was he was big and scary and she was terrified to even be near him.
 
He bowed a bit. "I am Adonis.." he said. His tone was gentle, but his voice still carried power. "What is your name..?"
 
The home was clay built and decently sized, it wasn't big or small. She actually kind of liked it. It looked a lot sturdier than the home she left behind. "I-It's nice..." She muttered.
 
"The bedroom is through here.." he said, showing off a few of the rooms. Things were quite large as compared to her old home, mainly to accomodate for his size.
 
The bed wasn't even really a bed. It was this huge pile of furs and hide and woven fabrics. She hesitantly moved over and put her hand on it to test it. It seemed comfortable enough.
 
He nodded and finished showing her the house, before taking her to the market, in hopes that seeing the other wives happy would help ease her.
 
"Oh, Adonis! The old one gifted you a new mate, how kind!" A petite little brunette came bubbling toward the both of them. Gifted? For lack of better term Genesis figured. The girl didn't look terribly much older than her, maybe she was from one of the other human tribes?
 
"Wonderful, wonderful! You both should come over for dinner tonight, Krylos would be more than thrilled!" Nina was fizzing with glee. Krylos? Was he another wolf? Obviously, there were no signs of any female wolves. Nina smiled sympathetically, "Don't worry, you'll love it here...! I was scared too...but honestly these guys are just huge cuddle bugs. Huh, Adonis~" Nina teased the massive beast and Genesis thought for sure he would beat her for it.
 
What? He wasn't angry? Nina laughed and pat his arm, "Be good to her, big guy~ we'll see you tonight! Oh, I didn't get your name!" Genesis' head was swimming. "G...Genesis..." She sputtered.
 
He smiled a bit. "Very well, Nina, see you tonight..!" He said. He moved to continue showing her around. Days turned to weeks, and Adonis was doing all he could to make sure she was comfortable.
 
Genesis didn't seem to grow any more or any less comfortable with everything. She was given a job to contribute; she helped the other girls with tilling and farming. All the girls told her how scary it was at first but they were all so welcoming and caring for everyone. It didn't really comfort her, but she did at least start talking more.
