Felton Aimes Gerard was a commoner who had just learned of a marriage proposal to him.
He had just gotten dressed to visit his parents in the country to discuss it and for him to see a picture of the woman who was to be his betrothed. He wore his best clothes to always impress his parents so they didn't think he was some poor commoner. He wasn't in fact but just so his parents wouldn't be disappointed in him like they were with the rest of his brothers...
He sat down with his mother who had a big envelope sitting on her lap. Inside that envelope was the photograph of the girl. She was seventeen and he had just turned nineteen and well, his parents wanted him to be married off immediately to start his life. Since his career had started off well and continued that way, they felt it was time for him to settle down since he could. After his mother and father discussed the details, they left him alone with the big envelope for him to look at to make his decision.
Staring at it, Felton bit his lower lip and then he took it and opened it and pulled out the framed black and white photograph of a young woman. She had flawless skin in the picture and it was obvious that her hair was either a black or dark brown color. It was tied up in a nice bun and a small sun hat was on, tied around her heart-shaped face. She had a tender smile and it lit him up. At much as he wasn't ready to be married, the thought of being married to her warmed him. Putting the picture down, he left a note saying he would like to meet her and then he left. He took a carriage back into the city and he walked up to his apartment, instantly untying his tie and tossing it to the side.
His fingers worked to unbutton his vest and as he took it off, he glanced over his mail and with one hand he began to unbutton his shirt he wore. Just some time back, he set out an ad in the local town paper requesting for a roommate. He had no specific requirements just that the person could keep up with paying rent. He owned his apartment loft and well it would be nice to rent out the extra room. Rent was cheap for the kind of room he was renting out and he sorted through his mail in hoped of some kind of a response.
