The truth will set you free~me and Mera

"Sure." Alana replied. She was getting a bit hungry now, it was indeed lunch time. She could see his nervousness still. It seemed he liked her too, just to make matters worse. Part of her wanted him to hate her, because then it wouldn't be too bad telling him the truth, but he was so kind and she didn't want to see that look of dissappointment in his eyes.

"It's the same lousy coffee you'll find on any millitary allience ship or base." Muruu, replied, she smiled back a little, he sure was a charmeur and she found it was working. Damn she shouldn't fll for a subordinate, even if she dind't sleep with him, her judgeent would be impared. Darn.

"Alright, thanks. Thankfully, the foods not too bad though." Kira replied, laughing lightly as he stood at the doorway, incase she need to get ready before leaving.

"Aint that the truth? That's why I bring my own little blend with me where I go. Taste much better and keeps you going just as long as this awful stuff. If you like, I can make you cup sometime captain." John replied, turning to face her, a charming smile on his face now.

Alana chuckled lightly. "Yeah, it's better the one would expect from army food." She replied. She followed him out immediately to the messhall and got one of the trays. It didn't smell too bad and actually looked like food.

"Maybe, sometime." Muruu said and sipped her coffee. Before she'd start dating him or something she needed to know more about him as a person. He was a charmeur that was for sure, handsome too and seemed interested in her. This ould get interesting, if ony they weren't in such a crappy situation.

((I'm just wondering. How far in do you want to wait to have each pairings first sexual encounter? With Eva/AlanaxKira, we could basically put her in Flays place, where she ends up being Kiras primary source of comfort.........but without the vindictive manipulation that Flay pulled. With their first encounter being like Kiras with Flay in the series. Something bad happens that shakes him up, she comforts him, and they share a night together. As for JohnxMuruu.......probably take a bit more time. I was thinking wait until he's firmly established as a source of strength for her. Someone for her to lean on, or provide a shoulder to cry on when things get too much for her. He'd be her rock, pretty much. And I've gotta be running for now. I might be on a tiny bit tonight, but it's likely I won't be back on till tomorrow. So, see ya later.^_^))

Kira laughed, agreeing with her. Most people heard stories about how army food was god awful. But in all honesty, it was pretty good.

"Well, the jell-o sure looks good." he said, chuckling softly as stood next to her in line, looking up and down the row to see what all they had available.

"So captain, since we're both obviously taking some R and R time, wanna talk about something besides our jobs?" John casually asked. He could easily tell she was a rather reserved woman. Most people in the service were, as they took their jobs quite seriously. Still, he was a good deal more light hearted than most people. Good to have around if someone needed cheering up.

"Indeed." Alana replied and grabbed a ham and cheese sandwhich and something that had to pass for orange juice and some jello and a cup of coffee. It would be a good lunch. She wasn't sure what to talk about anymore, but he seemed happier then before, that was good. Slowly the line moved forward...

"Such as?" Muruu then asked. She didn't share her personal life with just anyone, especially not since she was the captain now and couldn't get too involved with her subordinates, but this one was just trying so hard.

"So, how have you been doing here?" Kira asked curiously as they moved down the line. In the last few days, he hadn't really seen much of her, or really anyone besides the soldiers, as he had spending alot of time working with the Strike.

"Well, I suppose anything would work. Perhaps how you winded up joining the Federation. You already know why I ended up here. Though..........that is delving into our work territory." John replied, laughing lightly.

"OK, just bored. There isn't much to do around here. What about you?" She then asked Kira. He'd probably been busy with the Strike. The civilians weren't allowed to do anything really, well go to the messhall to get their meals was about it. For the remainder of the time they were refined to quarters. Although she'd wondered around the halls of the crew quarters a little, merely to get a bit of excersize or a bit of mibility, she'd never gone anywhere near the restricted areas.

"It is, however when you join the military you don't have much of a personal life left." Murrue said. That was true for most soldiers, the nine to five job thing didn't exist.

((I can't find any info about how Murrue joined the military))

((Yea, I didn't you'd be able to. I was just thinking you could make it up. Since not every little detail about characters lives is revealed in SEED, I was thinking we could just fill in the blanks ourselves.))

"For the most part, I've been working with the Strike. Gets rather tiring." Kira replied. He knew he probably shouldn't be speaking about the Gundam to a civilian, but he wasn't saying anything major, and she seemed trustworth enough.

"Yea, you can say that again." John replied, obviously knowing from experience. Quite a few times, he spend a very long time working, get promised some time off, but something would come up, and his R and R would be cancelled.

"I assume you're talking about that mobile suit we all saw at Hemiopolis. Well, anything that you have to do for days on end gets tiring." Eva replied. She walked forward in the line, almost there. "But isn't it strang they haven't attacked yet? Zaft invades Hemiopolis and all, then doesn't come after us even though they realy seemed to want the Strike, or maybe I'm imagining things."

"It's all part of the job description." Murrue replied. "Well my dad was in the army and when he ubit had gotten killed I decided to join them." She told him.

"Who knows? I try not to think about it. I mean, sure, they could attack at any time and I want to be ready, but it just makes everything harder when you spend every waking moment paranoid of when the next attack will come." Kira explained.

"Understandable. My old man groomed me from an early age to join up. Always teaching me proper protocols and what not when normal kids were playing catch with their fathers." John replied, his bitterness quite obvous.

((I'm about to take a little break for lunch, so my next post may be a bit slow.))

"That's understandable. However I'm sure they have someone watching the radar constantly. So until the alarm goes off you can relax." Alana replied. Finally the end of the line, they could get to their seats now. She found a small table. "How about we sit over there?" She asked Kira.

"I'm sorry to hear that. No wonder you don't like your job much. But why stay in it if you don't like it? You could always try to pursue a different career." Murrue said. Why did he stay in the milletary?

"Sure." Kira replied, smiling softly. The messhall was started to get a bit crowded, but he didn't mind. Just hanging out with her was relaxing enough.

"I'm curious. What's it like riding a motorcycle? I've never been on one myself." he asked as he set his tray down before going around the table and pulling her chair out for her, being a real gentlman.

"Well, it's not all bad. I've met some good people in the service that I would never have met otherwise. Not to mention, I've never been a quitter. Plus, with how things are here, after the attack, could you really spare anyone at the moment? We're low on personell as is." John explained.......usually not bothering to talk about himself this much most of the time.

She put her tray down on the table. "Thank you." Alana said and sat down. He was so sweet. "It's great, the speed is good and the wind in your face. And you can easily get through a traffic jam with it too." She said and smiled a little. She grabbed her sandwich and took a bite.

"True. Speaking of attacks don't you think it's odd they haven't attacked us in over two days?" Murrue asked him. She had been convinced at first that they'd keep attacking until they'd managed to destroy the arch angel, but yet that had not happened?

"Heh, that does sound fun. I've always been a bit too scared to ever try one. Perhaps you can take me for a ride sometime next time we go planet side." Kira replied, smiling at her. It was looking last his trusting nature would just end up with him getting hurt when he eventually found out the truth about his object of affection.

"Yea, it is unexpected. Though, can't say I mind though. It's good that we've had a few days to get things up and running smoothly." John replied, shrugging. As he said, there was really no telling. Still, regardless, it gave them a chance to fix things and let people relax a little.

"Sure." Alana replied. She returned his smile. She took another bite from her sandwich. The more she talked to him, the more she liked him, the worse she felt for not telling him. Well at least she hadn't lied to him about anything else, but this was a pretty big thing.

"Well there has to be a reason for it. Maybe they're setting up an embush further along our route, in which case we'd be sitting ducks. Excuse me." Murrue said and walked off to the brige to inform the others and to keep vigilant more then ever. It made perfect sense and that scared her.

"Fine, then it's a date." Kira replied, smiling happily. Though, it took him a second to realize he called it a date.

"I mean......it's just a......uh..........just an innocent gathering between two friends." he nervously replied, blushing brightly.

John was right on the captains heels as they headed for the bridge. Sure, he wasn't the most proud soldier, but she was right. They could be setting up an ambush for them right this second.

"There's nothing on sensors maam. Perhaps we should send a scout?" he suggested, looking at the sensor readout for the surrounding area.

Natarle saw the two came in together and for a brief second, wondered what they had been doing, but the mention of the possible ambush, it was straight to business.

((Do you mind if I triple up and make Natarle a main character from now on? I'm actually having alot of fun playing her in this little three-way attraction thing she, John and Muruu have going on.^_^))

John was right on the captains heels as they headed for the bridge. Sure, he wasn't the most proud soldier, but she was
((Not at all))

"It can be a date if you'd like." Alana replied. There was no reason for him to be so nervous. This was her way of letting him know she was interested. She sipped her orange juice and took the last bite from her sandwich.

"Yes, that's a good idea, call La Flaga." Murrue said. They needed the strik here that was for sure. She just hoped she was wrong about this.

"Oh..uh...........that sounds great. Can't wait." Kira replied, still blushing as he nervously nibbled his food, mostly concentrating on his drink, as he the blushing made his face feel quite hot.

"Shall I contact Yamamoto and have him on standby in the Strike?" Natarle asked, while John went the com and contacted Lu Flaga, giving him his orders.

"Yes, we're not that far from Artemis I'm sure there will be at least one attack before we get there." Murrue said. She was tense as was everyone else.

Such a cute blush. "Makes two of us." Alana replied, then heard Kira's name being called over the intercom. "Good luck." She said to him. That was all she could do.

Kira felt a little dissapointed when he heard his name over the com. But, he had a job to do. Playfully winking as he got up, he hurried out and off to the hanger.

"Strikes prepped and ready for action." said John, after Kira reported in, noticing that for some reason, Natarle kept glancing over at him. He figured since she was obviously quite serious and strict, she was just watching him close since he was new here.

Alana watched the battle, it was incredibly intense. She sighed, it was taking hours. She was glad when it as over and they were about an hour away from the artemis base. She went looking for Kira and stopped outside his quarters. she knocked on the door, not sure if he as there yet.

Murrue was exhausted after this long battle. "Alright I need damage reports and quickly." She said to John. Glad it was over, well for the pilots it was. Not for her. Well in an hour's time they'd be docking at Artemis.

Kira was in his quarters, but he said nothing when he heard the knock. This was his first true battle in the war that was being waged. So, the truth of war hit him like a ton of bricks and he was not ready for it, having a bit of an emotional breakdown.

"Yes maam." John replied, taking a deep breath as he sat at his station, going over damage reports.

"You did good for you first battle." said Natarle, placing a hand on his shoulder from behind, smiling down at him. A somewhat uncharacteristic display of understanding. She was generally all business...........She really must have a thing for this guy after all.

Alana decided to check if he was there or not. She was worried about him. She opened the door and found him there. She closed the door and walked over to him. "Hey, how are you holding up?" She asked him, knowing he wasn't exactly alright. She hoped she could help somehow.

Murrue looked at Natarle and John. Maybe it was for the best. He was nice and all, but it was inappropriate for her to start anything with a subordinate to begin with.

"Fine........." Kira muttered, barely more than a whisper. Obviously, that was a lie. He sure wasn't in much of a mood for company. Still, she had made him feel really happy earlier in the mess hall. Perhaps she would be able to bring comfort to him. She'd be the only one that could though.....

"Heh, thanks." John said, smiling up at her as he put his hand on her and looked back at her. She was quite attractive as well. Still, he was more attracted to the captain, but since she made it fairly obvious starting something with a subordinate would never happen, it would seem his interested would be changed to another lovely lady.

Alana shook her head and moved in closer. She sat down next to him on the edge of his bed and put a hand on his shoulder and looked into his eyes. It was obvious he was far from fine and she wasn't going to leave any time soon.

((not sure what to post for Murrue right now))
