Alicia was not the only emotional one in the room. When Alicia agreed to marry him, tears stung his eyes. These were happy tears, and Bryce rarely ever showed such emotion. Wiping his eyes quickly with the back of his hand, the young man slid the ring onto Alicia’s left ring finger. After doing so, he took a moment and just admired his fiancé. She had this huge smile on her face and the engagement ring seemed like it was shining in the light. Chuckling with a happy tone, he wrapped his arms tightly around Alicia and pulled her right back into his chest.
“This is the happiest moment of my life.” He whispered softly, pressing a kiss onto her lips. Again, the red lipstick was smudged along his face, but that did not matter. He continued smiling at her, their eyes still locked. His fingers started threading through her long hair while they kissed and hugged tightly. Bryce could not stop smiling. He walked with her towards his phone and quickly turned off the music. Bryce decided he would clean up the mess later, but for now, his focus was solely on Alicia and being with her tonight as they celebrated.
Without a warning, he suddenly scooped Alicia into his arms. He carried her in a bridal style form, one arm underneath her neck and the other underneath her knees. Carrying her through the estate, Bryce still had this smile on his face. “The surprises for tonight are not finished yet.” They reached their room again and Bryce entered carefully, ensuring that Alicia did not hit the door. When they returned to the bedroom, the surprise was revealed. It was simple, but romantic. Rose petals were across the floor and partially on and around the bed. The lights were dimmed and candles lit up the room again.
“I think this is appropriate, considering our engagement and the dinner we shared.” Gently placing Alicia down onto the bed, he stood at the foot and just watched her with a smile. “if you’re not too tired yet… I would love nothing more than to make love with you. I want to be inside of you again. You look so fucking good in that dress, but you look even better without it, and without anything on your body.”

Forgiveness. It was something Nick often sought out instead of someone seeking it from him. He often sought forgiveness from his mother. The way she looked at him when he was caught on drugs again, the way she looked at him when he failed at another intervention program. It was painful for Nick, but he could sense the pain in his mother’s eyes as well. Alicia – he asked for forgiveness to her as well. She always acted stricter with him than their mother did. He wondered if Alicia could ever truly forgive him for putting their family through what he did.
In the time where he needed to be there for Alicia the most, he was not there. When she needed him to comfort her about the loss of their father, he comforted himself by getting lost in the drugs. That was the only thing that he could possibly do, honestly. Nick could not help his sister or his mother because he could not even help himself. That was why Nick wanted to seek forgiveness from his family. He realized, over time, how shitty he was to do the things he had done. For that reason, Nick decided he should look into forgiving Anna soon.
Yes, it would take more than one level-headed conversation for that to happen, but because of his past experiences with the emotion, Nick was more open to the idea happening soon. He tried to figure out how to respond. He worried that the silence would get awkward. Nick felt the sudden urge to grab Anna by the back of her head and pull her into a kiss, throw her down on the bed. Yet, it seemed they were both thinking the same thing when she practically attacked him in a kiss. He did not hesitate. He only placed his hands onto her waist, squeezing at her ass while they embraced.
They were in the middle of the estate. Anyone could walk by and see them (a.k.a his mother or his sister). He could not imagine that going well, especially since Alicia just caught them together the other morning on the yacht! Thinking clearly was impossible right now, however. Nick also knew that he was covered in walker blood and guts. He figured he should get a shower first, before they took it further, but the man just needed to feel this moment all the way through, not wanting to be the one to break the kiss even as Madison was about to round the corner, thirty yards or so away from behind Nick.
