The compliment to her body felt... off. Of course something such as a compliment from a younger sibling, about the sheer sultry value of her body, would come off as estranged. But, Leo had sense of mind enough to flash her that cheery smile, and of course Nora melted to it. There was nothing that came off wrong from the sheer naive innocent that poured from her brother at all times! After all, how could something such as a compliment like that come off at an angle so wrong, from someone who could barely maintain composure in the presence of any other girl?
The comment about living up to the expectations of her future husband, however, only triggered the girl's eyebrows and lips to quirk in a playful angle. "Really? Gee, how absolutely ridiculous-sounding." She taunted out a retort, but her tone held a playful, chiming undercurrent. It was clear that she didn't mean it in nearly as biting a way as it could have sounded, in sharp response to her brother' pledge. Something like that had to be taken as a joke, after all; Nora's younger brother was clearly just pledging to grow up as a respectable man, nothing more, or less...
But, there wasn't much time to be pondering those questions and strange complimentary things that Leo had become keen on saying; so promptly was her hand taken and tugged away to the movie theater. "What? Hey, no, your movies always su---"
-------
Despite her annoyances at his suggestion, considering the choice of his TV shows alone put her to sleep, she found herself a while later, glancing down to her snuggling brother. A lull in the movie's humour had her take a sip from the coke, only to replace it and find her younger brother entranced by the picture, leaning up against her shoulder. So smooth he had been, that Nora didn't even feel him before! But, she didn't say a word, a small smile coming to grace her lips. He was adorable, for-sure. And any girl that claimed his heart, she knew, was in for a sincerity that was nigh-unmatched.
Even if the movie was relentlessly dumb to the elder sister, by the time it was finished, she felt almost obliged to offer the same enthusiasm for it, that Leo did. "Mhmm. Yep. Great movie...Loved that part... and that other part..." It seemed Leo would never remember, but Nora hadn't been the girl for such shows. If it didn't feature a beyond-interesting premise, or had something nerdy in it--what hid beneath the business-casual exterior--it was typical enough for her to fall asleep to. But, the night progressed smoothly, and after a simple stir-fry dinner, they retired to their rooms for the night.
-------
When Leo eventually came downstairs that next morning, he'd find himself greeted by the sight of Nora in full business attire; a suit of slick black, graced by not a tie or a button-up but a smooth white shirt beneath the jacket. Of course, such formal clothes did nothing to hide her allure. Built for the feminine frame, it was the type of suit who's straight edges and forms enhanced the hips and set the appeal of shapely legs in a strider's visage. The prompt top and buttoned light jacket served to accentuate that not a bump or crease was caused by the correspondingly immaculately fit shape below.
Leaning against the wall casually, with one leg kicked up to it, knee bent, the elder sister was tapping away at a PDA. Pausing for a moment to sweep her hair back, and transition a hair-band from her wrist to a smoothly formed ponytail; Nora's eyes glanced to Leo. "Ah, you're awake. We can get going, then. Come on, we'll be having breakfast there." Without waiting to hear a response, she turned and proceeded through the front door.
They lived in a typical rich-man's cul-de-sac; statuesque houses and vacation homes arranged with lavish yards and homeowner's-association-ready gardens appealing to the eye. A few steps down their flagstone oath to the driveway, and a concurrent few more to the curb, where their ride awaited. A grandoise limousine, of a sparkling black finish that gleamed in similar contrast to the light-eating black of Nora's suit, awaited their presence. And, concurrently opening the door, was a chaffeur. Yet, in more of a butler-like attire, the male--seemingly in his mid-to-late twenties--stood with a rather intimidating build. Incredibly built, yet compact, it seemed; his suit stood stiff at the edges. His shoulders square and set, legs straight to attention, but seemingly not tense, as if the balance of the man sat low, and ready to movie. Short-cropped black hair sat atop his head, and striking blue-green eyes peered down, alert and present. However, across one eye was strung a patch, strikingly white to the black of his hair, and appealing in colorful contrast to his free eye. Yet, even more peculiar, his skin was a strange tinge of pink. It was hard to place, as it was rather light, yet still noticeable; an almost transparent shade of a pink hue to his visible skin. "Nora, Master Leo, " he greeted them respectfully, albeit there was a peculiar shift in his eyes, that correlated with the adresses he gave them both. While he referred to Leo with the dignitary, "Master", his singular eye held little respect, but a curiosity and almost sparkling amusement. But, in a non-titled adress to Nora, it held a burning fire of respect and attentive readiness; quite akin to the way a soldier might look to a general.
Regardless of the way he addressed them, Nora gave a curt nod, and introduced--while stepping inside and sitting on the far end of the couch-like seat that the limousine held--Leo to the man, as, "This is Jack, our personal chauffeur. " And, at that, Jack gave the younger brother a quick nod, and a sly smile that slid up his lips.
Once inside, Jack was prompt to close the door, and but a moment later was inside the driver's seat. Separated by the classic slide-up tinted mirror, the limousine featured a circular innard; the walls surrounded by the couch-like seat that limousines featured. In the middle, an ice chest, stocked from sodas, waters, to wine. Glasses fitted in a clever fashion amidst it's side, in an inlaid cabinet of the chest.
As soon as Jack was inside, they were promptly off, the world outside the one-way tint windows speeding along. Nora was quick to crack in at Leo, "I hope you're up for a lot more luxury than our little townhouse, little bro." Her smile beamed down at him, lighting up the black craft at the same radiance as the mood lighting that kept it warmly lit within. One leg crossed over the other, with the PDA atop them, Nora addressed her brother with folded hands. "A lot more convenience, and just about anything, at your whim. You'll see soon enough..."
A short drive, less than ten minutes, had them downtown, with Jack navigating that streets and diverting past stand-still traffic with an ease that spoke volumes for one as relatively young as he seemed. Typically such chauffeurs of skill, were much older, and even then relied on GPS or auditory assistance to maneuver around the entire blocks of stand-still that Draeton was nigh-on famous for. Such a booming city of technology and growth, it was pretty typical for people to be faster walking, than driving. And even as promptly, in the distance Leo could see the looming skyscraper of a building that was the company's headquarters. Like internet super-giant Gewgle, it featured a an open-view concept, with an elaborate use of glass and frames of metal to outfit the block-wide building. The entire bottom floor was a shopping mall, featuring technology, and many companies sub-divided under the Reinsworth name; their symbol that of an R, with the bottom runners of said letter curving back, up, and behind; to form the seamless shape of an R, over a spade. Recessed in a work of architectural ingenuity, it was the merging of a basement and first floor, featuring escalators and elevators, ramps, and stairs, leading to multiple levels and emplacements that in truth spammed an area that a normal building would encompass in three different floors. Entire crowds of people were either coming in, or going out, flowing like an ever-present river. Higher up, the glass was fitted into smaller windows and walls grew to angular shapes, hiding high-tech offices and assembly spaces from the non-employee eyes of the mega-mall below.
Yet... they passed right by it. But, Nora was as prompt to perk up, and explain, "Now, as you know of our main building, is where our main commerce and trades go down. As well as the office-work that goes on upstairs. Tedious stuff, of course. And boring. Don't even get me started on how boring it is..." A wave of her hand dismissed the roll of her eyes that Nora gave to accentuate her explanation of mediocracy. "...As I told you before, I work with the... executives, and it's concurrently, off-site. It's much more... interesting, and as I'm sure you'll come to learn, doesn't require stuff you're going to learn in any of those textbooks..." With that clever prod thrown in their, with an upturned smile to her lips, Nora slipped back into admiring the drive.
But another ten minutes had passed, and the hefty downtown atmosphere faded to reveal a still industrial zone, but it was clearly more living, and wasn't the exact hub-center of Draeton. Rather, in-between the malls and office buildings, banks, and restaurants, there were condos and apartments, occasional parks and rest-areas. One such park they passed seemed much larger than the others. Impressively so, almost like the Offset Park over in Old Fed City, that Leo had seen pictures of. At least, it seemed like a part. Yet, the almost thick forest that they could see from the outside was rimmed with a thick, ominous steel fence, looming easily over eleven feet straight up. And while it was easily missed at first glance, many of the cameras on buildings across from the park, were directed at the fence, and not on the ground that would typically cover said building's from crime.
About halfway down the expansive park, a prompt turn had them headed down a driveway, but only for a few dozen meters. There, in a forest that seemed to eliminate the city that had loomed just behind them, they were greeted by an immense gate. Stopping there, the window closest to Nora rolled down, revealing a stand with a screen built into it. Promptly it lit up, and a voice rang from it's speaker, "Ah, you're back already, Nora?" A polite, smooth voice rang out. Somehow, it spoke for itself of knowledge and skill.
A crack of Nora's lips was quick to shift into a tiny smirk at Leo's amazement. Nevertheless, she seemed to ignore him, and adressed the blank monitor, "Yes, Fai. And I've brought Leo with me, this time. Gather the girls together, would you? And, tell them to look presentable. You know what I mean." Rather than a question, her last sentence came off with an almost informational tone. Clearly, a command more-so than a supplimentory-explanation.
The voice was just as quick to reply back, "Understood."
And, as the gate itself promptly swung open and the window rolled up, Nora directed her attention back unto Leo. "So, as I told you before, I work and manage the executives of the company. Basically, I live with them. Manage their needs, expenses, etc, as well as arrange their ... ", she paused for a moment, almost frowning. The moment lasted long enough for Leo to realize that the limousine was actually curving along a decent, road, shifting in elevation with small hills, much unlike Draeton, as the forest thinned. It showed more clearings and plains, a wide creak that ran within it, a bridge that spanned it here-and-there, meadows with soft, short green grass to lay about in, and admire the view of the forest, and buildings far in the background, beyond the park. "... projects." Nora finally finished, then cleared her throat, and gestured forward, as a building came into view. "...As I mentioned before, a bit more luxury than you're probably used to. "
And, that was the understatement of the century. On the top of a picteresque hill, steadily approached by their limousine, stood a modern mansion. Typically only seen in magazines, or on TV, the picteresque thing stood at least four stories tall. And "stories" were a bit of an understatement. Each level was themed in a modern fashion, so had the clearing space of over fifteen feet; twenty for the first floor. Entire walls in places were windows, peering inwards and outwards. The architecural frame of seemless, pure steel, simultaneously at sharp angles, and smooth curves that accentuated every fold and shape within the building's frame. A massive circular front porch curved around from a sliding-glass door, and moved about the backside, to be hidden from sight. In front, a grandoise double-door of gold-lacquered mahogany harkened to an age of fashion and class that lied to the modernity of the rest of the place. Yet, it seemed all the more grand, to the ovular driveway that the limousine curved into; the center of which was adorned with a majestic fountain. Said fountain featured a circular onyx base, with a rectangular that protruded from the center, sending a geyser of water upwards that then branched from the tip, and shot out at more angles--it was clear the first geyser hid more pumps within-- to splash back down gloriously amidst the onyx pool. Above the glorious door past it, was the Reinsworth symbol; that R imposed, yet seemless, to the spade beneath.
As the limousine came to a stop just in front, parallel to that grandoise door belying a mansion of superb modern architecture, Nora turned her eyes attentively to Leo's, capturing his attention back. Jack stepped out, and shut his own door, as she addressed the younger brother. "This is where I stay, and where you will too, most of the time. You could call it the Reinsworth Manor. " A pause, to let that sink in, before she continued, "So, this is it, Leo...", a smile cracked from her lips, easing her business demeanor, and she even tilted her head a bit, beaming to him. "...Are you ready to start taking up the family name?"
