Eh... I guess this is one of those Exactly What it Says On The Tin situations. I suppose I can be a little bit more specific.
I’ve been oddly obsessed with Superman lately. And craving for roleplaying a very specific scenario: his very first exposure to Green Kryptonite. Granted, not the most original idea out there; but one has got to appreciate the classics. There’s just something about the idea of a cocky, ridiculously powerful superhero who’s capable of godly feats of strength whilst wearing skin tight spandex suddenly discovering that not only he’s not invincible but that a little green rock can bring his utter downfall. In many ways, I’ve always been really excited about exploring the psychological effects of this: what’s it like to suddenly feel pain for the very first time? What’s it like to be bound by the laws of gravity when one has never experienced this before? Even though I’ve done my fair share of roleplays featuring physical abuse of Supes, I don’t think I’ve ever quite managed to thread into this territory. And that’s something I’d love to find a roleplay partner to correct.
Before we go on, a disclaimer: I’m not very knowledgeable of DC Comics lore. If you’re looking for canon porn, I’m sorry to disappoint.
As a general rule, I’m looking for a one on one roleplay featuring The Man of Steel / Clark Kent and another character, either canon or original; of any gender. I’d be willing to either play Supes or the character he’s paired against; and I’m open to the idea of roleplaying multiple characters if we get a concept that’s fun and exciting enough.
I have some half-baked ideas for a plot. Mind you, none of this is explicitly sexual, but I’m not opposed to incorporating all sorts of lewdness to them to spice things up, as long as things remain fairly story driven. Here we go:
Our Hero Needs a Scientist - After an initial exposure to Green Rocks, Superman searches for assistance (at S.T.A.R. Labs?) to understand the nefarious effects that the radioactive substance has on him. My favorite facet of this is just the infinite potential of putting him through all sorts of painful and nasty experiments. Testing the limits of kryptonian physiology in a slow and gruelling process is the name of the game.
Our Hero Needs a Nurse - This would probably involve a more sophisticated method of kryptonite exposure to make its effects a bit more long term. Superman would either ingest or inhale the substance and would essentially be poisoned. He could crash land at someone’s property or maybe use up the strength he could muster to look for someone who he deems trustworthy (bonus role reversal points if it’s someone he’s rescued before! I’m looking at you, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen). Regardless, he’d be at someone else’s mercy as he hopes for his body to purge the poison out in a slow recovery process.
Our Hero is In Peril - This is the least imaginative out of the bunch, and the scenario that would the hardest to enact all the psychological angst I’m looking for, but hey, never underestimate the classics. Also, it’s a nice prompt for something more short term. Basically, Supes comes across either a Supervillain who’s deliberately managed to come across Kryptonite to use against him or an otherwise hapless thug / criminal who manages to be at the right place at the right time to see The Man of Steel fall on his knees. Short and simple.
I am, of course, open to all sorts of different ideas or to adapting and / or combining any of the above.
I... guess that’s it? Oh! I’m willing to roleplay through threads, notes, or on discord. The latter is actually the place I’ve been more active lately, but I wouldn’t mind logging into Blue Moon a little bit more often. In fact, I kind of miss it!
