Alright, it's been a long while since I've been active here outside of PM's. Real life sort of got in the way for a while. But now I have lots of free time and I really want to run a sexy D&D campaign using an old-school system (or an OSR retro-clone thereof) with an even 50/50 mix of story and smut (at least as a baseline, there can be as much story or smut as the players want, really).

I want to run this campaign as a sandbox game where everyone starts at Level 1 and works their way up from there. I am open to characters of all genders, sexes (even fictional ones like futanari), and orientations, and I'm thinking of running this game with an old-school (pre-3e) system.

I own physical copies of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st Edition and 2nd Edition both, and I do know you can buy reprints of them as well. I also have retro-clones of Original Dungeons & Dragons and Basic D&D/Rules Cyclopedia on PDF (specifically Full Metal Plate Mail for OD&D and Dark Dungeons for Basic). I prefer using retro-clones for these games because they are much more clarified than the original TSR publications, they can be easily found online, and the PDF's are usually free (I know for a fact Dark Dungeons, Basic Fantasy, and Full Metal Plate Mail can all be legally downloaded on PDF for free, as they are published under an Open Gaming License).

To decide exactly which version of Old-School D&D we will use, I have added a poll.

I'm going to do everything in my power to keep this game afloat and I want to get more experience as a DM, so I hope you all will join.

*smiles* I'm glad you like.

A bit well known in her home region for telling good stories. Her father is a hunter and a fletcher, and--while she's not too good at hunting--she laces bird calls and such through her stories. :)

And I'm going to be working on my backstory... but long and short, she does not agree with most of her kin... or at least, is less structured.

What is up with you guys and your insane ability score rolls? Am I the only one who isn't cheating? :p

I can't help but notice Anoretta doesn't have any clothes listed among her inventory, despite there being a specific section for them...

Cheating? Me, why, how could you think such a thing! Why, I've only had to expand my Vegas sales of crooked and rigged dice twice this month!

Jokes aside, sometimes the dice shine, sometimes they frown.

I couldn't have been cheating, I loaned my loaded dice to one of my friends last month and that rat hasn't gotten them back to me yet ;)

So now that we've got a few characters made I'm starting to wonder about the setting. Anything you can tell us before we get started Slayer?

Honestly since we have to have a dice room anyway I would not mind rolling in there to prove it I just used my lucky dice at home.... They betrayed me on that 8

Tenshi said:
Pretty sexy bard image, Aramil. Glad I'm playing a girl if she's hemophradyte. She'll be fun to get along wtih.

I hope you won't be disappointed that she doesn't dress like that all the time...though she likes to wear even less when she can get away with it ;)

Also, interested in some of the world details, have some of the ideas worked out so far. A small hint. While she may find the others fun, she will only consider Tenshi's character to be an actual person.

And I'll be a lower class one at that. ;)

Going back and forth right now about the pros and cons of maybe being from or related too one of your retainer families, RPGirl...

It would probably polarize her too much, as either a die hard classist or a rebel. :)

She is not from The House Royal, though might be from a branch of House Noble, and is against the caste system as it stands... sort of. Still, will have backstory ready soon!

She had never been a serious child, though she has always been one as interested in magic as the rest of her kin. One could not go so far as to say that she was a wild child, but rather, a restless one, with a greater share of that elven spark in her, that drove her out of the city, to explore the forests and mountains close by, and well inside the warding and protections, and led her to talk to those that had seen the outside world... and to delve into the texts describing the past.

From what she found, and how it related to the world as it was, she found several... well, she was fairly sure that the leaders of her people have bought their own hype, having taken the lawful aspects of their... nature just a good bit to far, strangling them, and along with their isolationist tendencies, have driving themselves not into the perfection they assume, but stagnation that will only leave them behind in the coming centuries. Perhaps, in a sense, her greatest mistake was actually saying this. The reaction, predictably, was not a favorable one.

She was censured and reprimanded, though she was not cast out or made casteless... or at the least, given her being a youth on the edge of adulthood, being only ninety years old, she was to be given twenty years to reflect and understand the truth of the world, in order that she held the correct attitudes.

And she left a note, a week before the day of her passage into adulthood, that she was sure that she had the correct attitudes, and would leave.. as it would seem that they have been blinded to life, preferring to see life only in terms of the Greater and For their own good... while she would like to sample the world and form her own opinion, instead of relying on outdated dogma.

I'll try to have the game up in a few days (most likely this coming Wednesday), I need some time to gather my thoughts and take care of a few IRL things real quick.

backstory
Identity, at some point in every person's life there, comes a point where they look deep inside and try and figure how who they really are as well as who they wish to be. To discover themselves they fall back on constants throughout their lives, morals and ideals taught to them by authorities, friends and relationships nurtured and allowed to grow, their own names. What happens though when identity is stripped from a person where memory is removed to the point that grand masters of both magic and psionics cannot wrest the slightest detail from the universe itself?
The heat burning the buildings, the crimson of blood all around him as raiders shoved their own swords through their chest, and a man in silhouette against the sun reaching down to collect him after he exhausted himself. Those memories are his earliest that nightmare his most common. The boy is an oddity for not only is he remarkably gifted in psionics, something the Seers should have sensed but he is still largely a blind spot to them. Many were tasked with finding out exactly how he came to be and how they originally had missed a child capable of pulling out such raw power. After months of test trips to the past, and contacting of spirits the prevailing theory is that some how the child cannibalized his own history into raw power.
The child was taken in he obviously needed training and anyone capable of pulling energy from a temporal source deserved a scholarship. The masters named him Phialen after Pahlen, a word with triple meaning, origin, peace, and popularity they intentionally misspelled it as a warning to those with the intellect to solve such a riddle. The boy was popular for none could understand exactly what happened with him is origin shrouded in mystery, and he was a calm peaceful youth who was discovered among charred ruins sleeping in pools of blood.
Phialen himself only remembers in his dreams he knows he was channeling power far beyond what he is currently capable of which is why he originally wanted to specialize in metapsionics when given his opportunity. Unfortunately, it seemed as though that disciple was barred from even him as there is no record of anyone being successful in doing that, though some before him had tried. He found telepathy was most natural to him and it made sense after all he distinctly remembers turning people against each other.
Phialen now acts as an agent of the Academy, they are the only family he even remembers, he works both as a journeyman and a mentor to younger students, he has come to accept he may never know his own history and is fine with that. He is in constant search for new ways to use psionics he wants to understand the power he apparently once wielded.

I'm waiting and lurking, and planning on calling on old and terrible things man was not meant to know. Thankfully, I'm both female and an elf.
