Distain2003 ~ A kidnapping romance ~ D.E.666

Janet giggled softly and cuddled close to Stephen, nuzzling his shoulder softly before looking up at him as he spoke. She could tell what he was hinting at and she nudged him slightly with a small smile. She knew that her father couldn't retire yet. He would have to find someone to take over running the entire family business. Someone who know what they were doing and he wanted to keep the person in charge one of the family but there was only so many people in her family and the family name was slowly dwindling down. Andre nodded with a sigh. "Yes, I look forward to the day I can finally do that." he said. "Heaven only knows how much my heart needs the rest." He lightly touched his chest. "The stress is getting to be too much for the old ticker and I want to live long enough to see any little ones my daughter might have." This caused Janet to blush a little with a chuckle while running her fingers along Stephen's tattoo, tracing the outline of the cat then the spider. This caused her father to glance at it before looking at the couple sitting together.

He smiled and laughed as her father joked about wanting to retire. "Just let me know when your finally ready to call it quits. I know a nice home down the way about a half mile you could live just a bit away. " He smiled rather liking the way she was tracing his arm it felt nice having her touch his tattoo. Though he did realize that it would call attention to it and that made him nervous. "You need to find a way to relax more I would hate for Janet to lose he father. "

Andre laughed as well and nodded. "I'll be sure to give you a call." he said. "Though, knowing my wife as well as I do, she'll want to move to Barbados or something like that." He rolled his eyes while leaning back and relaxing, watching them from over his glasses. His hair wasn't styled that day and he wasn't wearing his contacts, so he looked more laid back then when he was dressed for actual work. He looked a little older though, more his age. "Yes, I do agree to that. But I'm always needed for something at the company." Janet smiled slightly. "Well... I can help out a bit down here with the Mexico branch, that way you don't have to worry about it." she said. "And I'm sure Uncle Julius would love to help out as well."

Stephen grew a bit nervous he wanted her family to remain in her life. But he feared that to being to close to them might cause them to dig into his. He was still terrified that her father would find out how the pair had met and have him killed. How would he react if he knew that this house was bought with his money. He tried to relax by holding Janet a bit tighter wanting so badly for them to be together for ever. "It will be nice seeing more of you, Janet speaks of you often it is clear she loves her father. "

As if sensing his nervousness, Janet reached up and lightly touched his cheek with a soft sigh and she turned her head, softly kissing him on the cheek. Andre grinned before he tipped his head back and finished the beer in his hand. "And I love her." he said gently. "Anyways, the reason why I had called today and came over was to ask if you both were free for lunch later this week." Janet looked at her father curiously before looking at Stephen. "Well... I believe that we don't have any plans. Unless Stephen planned something."

"No i am free every day this week. Just let me know when you wish to see us so i don't spend the day working. " He smiled looking at him relaxing after the kiss he was starting to feel more comfortable around her father. It seemed as though he was not the type to delve to deep into things and he liked that. He just hoped he had is assumption correct he did not want to let his guard down only to be trapped. "What did you have planned, may i ask?" He smiled looking into the old mans eyes hoping it was nothing to elaborate.

Janet grinned and looked at her father. "There, we're free any time this week." she said gently and Andre chuckled softly while nodding. "So I hear my darling kitten." he said, using her old nickname from when she was a child, making her giggle with a bright blush. "Well, I was thinking of a small restaurant in town. It's a small family run restaurant that serves greek food. I would say today, but I'm afraid I have a meeting later." Janet rather liked the idea of going out to lunch with her father and Stephen.

"That sounds absolutely fantastic to me I would enjoy spending some time with you sir. I have a feeling ill need to get to know you a bit better in the not to distant future. " He smiled looking over to Janet before kissing her cheek. He could care less right now what her father said he was just so happy to be with her. It made him wish this moment could never end she was happy and so was he.

"I'd imagine so." he said. "It seems my daughter is head over tail in love with you." The neko's eyes lit up when Stephen kissed her on her cheek and she purred happily before nuzzling his neck. A moment later she lifted her head and nodded. "Oh, I am father. You... won't tell her will you?" she asked. "I'm so happy here with Stephen and he takes such good care of me." Andre sighed as he leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees. "I will not tell her, but eventually she will want an explanation."

Stephen looked at them both as the spoke smiling at his comment about her being in love with him. His hand left her side and slipped up her back to scratch her puffy ears. As the conversation continued he got more confused. "Tell who what?" He said looking at Janet trying to figure out what the pair where talking about. It certainly seemed to involve him and he did not like not knowing what they where talking about.

Janet slowly looked up at him while leaning into his touch and she sighed. "My stepmother." she replied. "She's been trying to arrange a marriage between me and a man of her choosing, remember? While I know it's very old fashioned, she's still trying to do it." Andre frowned and removed his glasses while running his hand over his face with a soft groan. "Yes, and I've tried very hard to dissuade her from such actions."

"That is quite fine she can wish to arrange what ever she wants. " He said wrapping both arms tightly around Janet's waist. "Let him come take her from me if he wants her. " He said smiling knowing any man she could choose for the would never have the guts to try that. "He would not make it past the front steps. I intend to stay with your daughter as long as she allows I only hope it is as long as i hope. " He smiled looking at her then glancing at his arm both knowing he got the tattoo as a symbol for both of them. He would keep her with him forever, even if she choose to leave him.

Just the simple gesture of Stephen wrapping his arms around her small waist made the young woman feel so much safer and she closed her eyes while resting her head on his shoulder with a content look on her face. When he mentioned how long she would allow him to stay with her, she opened her eyes once more and smiled up at him while touching his cheek tenderly. "I wish for you to stay with me forever." she whispered to him. "For no man can make me happy like you do."

"Then it appears you are stuck with my sir. Cause if she says i stay... I stay." He smiled kissing her softly not wanting to be to crude giving her only a peck. His arms remained locked on her holding her close as he smiled brightly. She had answered a question he had yet to ask he had been saving it for her birthday. Knowing the answer would at least make things easier on him when it came time to ask it.

"So it seems." Andre said in good humor, watching them with a smile. Suddenly a soft ringing filled the air and he pulled a phone from his pocket. After checking the ID, he sighed and slipped it back into his pocket. "Well, looks like that's my signal." he said. "George is calling to check where I'm at, I'm sure." The man stood up with a sigh and Janet slowly stood up as well, moving over to him and he wrapped her in a gentle hug which showed that her own father was one of the many people that treated her as if she were fragile but the little neko didn't have the heart to tell him other wise. "Try not to work and worry too much father." she whispered to him and he nodded. "I shall try little one."

Stephen stood and shook his hand smiling after he had hugged and said good bye to Janet. "Let me walk you to your car. " He smiled turning to Janet he smiled and kissed her cheek. "Hun do you think you could make us some lunch since it seams your father wont be able to eat with you?" He smiled commenting on her plans for the day as he followed her father out. He just wanted to thank him for the way he had been reacting so far he was not expecting any pleasantness from him after he arrived.

Janet stepped back from her father after they said their goodbyes and she nodded. "Sure. Don't take too long though." she says before kissing him on the cheek. She paused though and looked back at him. "Could you let the dogs out? I'm sure they're both anxious to get out." With that she turned again and disappeared down the hall to the kitchen.
Andre grabbed his coat and draped it over his arm then removed his keys from it. After his daughter walked away, he turned and headed for the front door, pulling it open and stepping out into the sunlight.

Stephen whistled to the dogs telling them they could come outside and play. Their paws could be heard threw the entire house as they charged to the front door. Stephen smiled slipping on a pair of old shoes and following Andre out to his car. His heart was racing wildly in his chest beating faster then it had done in many many years. He followed her father out to his car taking a deep breath a bit nervously.

Andre heard the dogs scampering down the hall and turned to see them rush out the front door, chuckling when Lily and Kegan ran by. Shaking his head, he made his way down to where his car was parked. He didn't have the same car that he had last time they saw each other. Instead of the Jaguar, he had a Callaway C16 speedster. Walking over to the car, he tossed his coat into the passenger seat and turned to face Stephen.

"Thank you... You could have handled that ... differently. " He said looking the older man in the eye knowing he still thought his daughter the pure girl he was before they had met. He was not sure what to say for the first time in a very long time his words where escaping him. It made him angry that he could not think of what he wanted to say.

Andre turned to face Stephen completely and he slowly removed his glasses, folding them and putting them into his pocket. "Yes, I could have and I probably would have if it weren't for the fact that my daughters happiness means everything to me." he said calmly. "I am willing to brush off what I saw when I walked inside today as long as you promise me that no matter what happens, you'll remain with her." He leaned against the side of the car.

Stephens hand reached up to touch his arm absently as he spoke of staying with her. "That is why I wanted to speak to you... I want your permission to be your daughter." He spoke softly looking into his eyes nervously. He was a bit old fashioned when it came to things like this. His eyes got a bit nervous as he waited for his answer his thumb nervously rubbing the face of the kitten on his arm.

Andre arched an eyebrow at Stephen's question. "Be with my daughter? What exactly do you mean by that?" he asked him. He glanced down at the water for a moment then back at Stephen. "You'll need to clarify what you meant because that could mean plenty of things." He reached back into the car and pulled out a bottle of water, opening it and taking a drink while he waited for Stephen to explain.

"I want to marry her. " He blurted out nervously biting his lip as it came out he did not want to sound indignant. He looked up at him nervously taking a deep breath trying to relax. "I know i have only been with her a short while... But i never want to leave her. I also know that getting married would mean a lot to her. " He spoke softly looking at him praying he would not appose he did not want him disapproving the wedding to come.

Andre just stood there, staring at Stephen after he blurted out he wished to marry his daughter. Clearing his throat, he slowly closed his water and put it back in the car, purposely drawing out the silence between them to make the young man nervous. Finally after several long minutes, he sighed and spoke. "Very well. You have my permission to marry her." he said slowly. "I warn you though, she'll probably expect a big wedding. She's always talked about it ever since she was a child."
