A few months later, Claire was sitting in her office, putting the finishing touches on a report. She sighed. Now was the perfect time for that trip. It was just on the verge of November and she had a solid three weeks of vacation set up. Her flight was leaving tomorrow, and she'd booked an extra ticket for Chris. She smiled at the thought of being out of the stuffy office and the strange ritual of them going from his place to hers back and forth. Besides, she'd noticed that despite her urges for Chris to take on less work, he was still taking on quite a bit more than most people in her department. During this vacation, she'd put a stop to that. It couldn't have been good for him.
She smiled and then sent the report in an email to the head of the company and clocked out. She had some packing to do. She had her coat and purse in hand as she came into Chris's office. "Hey, there. It's time to go, hun. You're coming with me on my vacation."
