Esscherek took his time, Kieran being reluctant to resume chatting with Jo. When he did, all that was left was blood, which was not enough to prove anything without a body to which it belonged. When Keiran returned to consciousness, it was with a heavy feeling and great frustration that he found himself still in Joseph's company. He didn't bother to answer the question, choosing instead to walk away, but not in the direction of home.

Next day at school, everything went as per usual, she attended her classes, pick-pocketed students, and practised her telekinesis on unaware students and library books. Lunch hour and she was devouring her food by herself in the court yard, watching the track team run and the preppies run around with their skirts hiked up to a near showing peep show of frilly panties, jocks otherwise entertained. She snorted. Sucking on her sucker she left the court yard, only to be stopped by a teacher.
"Ani, after school, the principal would like to have your attendance in conference room 4. Please be prompt" the teacher said, looking as if he was giving her a death sentence. She gave her best smile and gave a nod and a yes sir, thinking that it had to do with the extra 5 tardiness penalties she had accumulated.
