-Continuing from last time...-

When they arrived, things were quiet, but the boy had not yet gone to bed. They waited and kept themselves carefully concealed at a great distance, with Da'are occasionally helping Zack to look into the house with her unnatural eyes. It would have been difficult for the two to know when exactly the boy had fallen asleep and not just gone to bed, but Da'are seemed sure that she could tell when he was based on the symbols she saw around him. Based on this, Zack and Joseph travelled back to the house and Zack unlocked the door skillfully, quickly pulling Joseph in after him and shutting the door and locking it behind them. From now on out, they would have to be silent. Ekvail and Da'are offered to project any messages they had back and forth between the two of them so that they didn't have to speak. The search had begun.

She swam a few laps and such and after a while got tired, so she went to the edge of the pool and rested her head on her arms, passing out still in the pool, waiting for the guys to get back...

"I hope he used his power to have a glove over his hands, it would be weird to find a dead mans finger prints on a door. As for you I'm sure you look just as good in your demon form, but thats for later right now I'm not to great at stealth so ill keep on mind work you control the body okay that will be our plan." Joseph was a little shaky after all he was gonna kill a little kid he had feelings about it but didn't matter it was punishment for his sins, but he would do almost anything for his lust sin.

Da'are sighed. Joseph was taking to his inner sanctuary more and more. It wasn't healthy for humans to do that. She supposed she'd let it slide for now, since they had little choice, but she'd have to put her foot down if he did it too much in the future. She pointed out where the symbols were coming from to Zack, and he went into the room alone. Da'are waited outside. She watched from behind the wall as the symbols behind them told her that Zack was getting closer. The shiiiiik of some sort of blade being drawn was all the clue she needed to know that he was in place...

"...!? Mmphhmmwha?" Da'are watched apprehensively as Zack's motions slowed, just enough. The boy had woken from the small sound, clearly a light sleeper, and must have woken to seeing a man he'd only just met in his room, with a single or both hands fisted above him, about to come down on his head... and they came down just slow enough because of that human reaction that the blow didn't hit properly. Da'are rushed in while simultaneously trying to make Joseph's body stay as silent as possible; they weren't caught yet.

Zack was watching in a trance as the boy clutched at his throat, blood bubbling up from it, trying to breath... he was going to die slowly, without being able to call out for help, and never know why. Da'are shook her head. At least the worst had been avoided, but Zack was freezing up, which wasn't good... or...wait...

Da'are looked at Zack's face with more than a little surprise, and Joesph's nose and forehead wrinkled. She'd seen that look before. The one police so often mistook for shock. Only the gleam in the eye said differently, and it spoke volumes to Da'are. "Joseph, look away." Stepping forward quickly, she grabbed Zack's arm and manoeuvred it fast as blinking to finish the job. Zack turned on her, and she looked him in the eye. Something she didn't like was looking back at her, but the change back was immediate. Zack was looking back at her now, curiously unaware, then looked back at the boy. Now it was Zack's turn to look disturbed. He shook his head as if shaking away demons completely unrelated to Da'are and her kind.

"Right, you're done here, Ekvail..." Da'are sent to Ekvail, "...Ekvail?"

"Wha..? Oh. Sorry. Okay, I'll get him movin'." Ekvail responded belatedly. Seconds later, Zack left the room.

"You'd better still be looking the other way, darlin'..." She switched back to talking to Joseph, settling near the body.

Joseph got out of the drivers seat and headed off saying one thing before he left "Enjoy" He was out he didnt do anything special just kinda waited for her to say that she was done, he hoped she wasn't a sloppy eater.

She was still passed out, sound asleep like she had done countless times with her mom... she half expected her mother to come up behind her and mover her hair from her shoulder, but no, that wasn't to be anymore... she sighed, feeling rather then relaxed, very tense... "Kodri, whats the news on the guys?" she asked him, not liking his silence at this time.... she felt too alone now, and didn't like it to much

Kodri did something very odd then. Up until now, every movement he had done could be comparable to a human motion, but now... his ears pricked up and swivelled, and his feathers ruffled, standing straight up. Feelings completely alien to the girl. "That's-" He only partially responded, pausing and waiting again before forcing his feathers down again. After an amount of time, Kodri started talking again. "They're done..." He answered reluctantly. Normally he could pull off something he didn't feel, but he didn't bother now, as he knew that the girl would question his first reaction regardless. "Da'are is disposing of the body now."

Back in the boy's house, Da'are was crunching through the bones of the last few fingers with her special teeth, thinking over what had just happened. Ekvail and Kodri were keeping quiet, which was good. More trouble was not what they needed right now, and there were just too many problems associated with dealing with this now. They would report nothing of the matter, there would probably not be any similar cases in the future, and Zack's next demon could go through the trouble. The only real problem would be keeping the three humans involved quiet about any strange behaviour they had experienced or seen in themselves or from their demons that night. Chewing and swallowing the last of it, Da'are licked Joseph's fingers clean of blood. She had been careful not to touch anything but the boy himself, which was gone now. Only a small bloodstain remained on the pillow. They could go.

Da'are had not been able to thoroughly enjoy her meal, but she would take what she could get. Leaving the room, she found Zack. "Joseph... it's over. You can take over again now. I need to rest."

Joseph took back over and ran back to the room grabbing the pillow and took back off. "Come on Zack lets get outta her before something unexpected happens" Joseph whispered while tugging on Zack's arm as to hint him to the door. "Wipe the handle down to get rid of fingerprints just cuz I said so he whispered while they were in front of the door."

She gave a shudder "What was that first feeling? what happened? i got that hes dead, and that the body's being *cough* disposed of the body, but that first bit... you seemed a bit more lively with that reaction...." she raised an eyebrow, resting her head back on her arms, closing her eyes... she'd still talk to Kodri, but she'd rest while she did it.

"Demon reflex. We can feel it when another demon makes a kill." Kodri lied fluently. It was a small enough change to the truth. "Zack missed on the first swipe, but Da'are completed the kill."

Zack was still feeling a little nervous about the kill himself, so as he reached for the door, he wiped away the prints, with his hand staying a few centimetres away from the handle at all times. He proceeded to make sure that they were clear to go before making his way back out to the street.

She took it, but female gut instinct said he lies.... but she shrugged it off and dozed on the edge of the pool some more, the boys would be back shortly, and then thered be no sleep for her

They made their way quickly back to the mansion "As soon as we get back I'm burning this so you know, and what a funny site to see a half naked man running the streets with a bloody pillow, as for the kid I can tell your not quite sure of yourself right now with that look on your face, if you want we can talk when we get back."

Da'are was not concerned by Joseph's statement. In fact, she was already deeply asleep.
Ekvail had likewise all but asleep on his feet, but he remained awake in case his host needed to use his abilities for something else. One of their demons, at least, had to remain awake.

Zack was indeed shaken by events. He gave a nod when Joseph spoke to him, but really he didn't want to talk about it. What had happened was probably a good thing. Maybe. He was pestering Ekvail with questions, but the demon was oddly quiet now.

They had reached the mansion and Joseph kept on running all the way to the back where the fire pit area was and threw the pillow inside. He was out of breath but the fire had yet to bed started, he stood still for a moment before he dragged himself back inside for matches or something and came back out and grabbed wood for the fire that was neatly piled against the house and began to make the teepee of wood. "God you know why didnt we just burn down the house?" Joseph said to himself unsure of what was happening around him since he had gotten back to the mansion. He was going to protect his reputation so that his kids wouldn't ever hear through the news he could be suspected in a murder or something.

"Because you're dead, Joseph." Zack rolled his eyes. The man was getting paranoid. "We're not like other people here anymore... we don't need to worry about it. Besides, since you are getting rid of the last of the evidence of murder, the first suspicion will be on kidnapping. There's no signs of forced entry, or a struggle, or anything."

Joseph sighed "I guess your right." Joseph flicked the lighter and stared at the little flame for a second before lighting the pillow on fire. He watched the fire for a minute "Hey Zack come here for a minute."

Zack was a little more hesitant this time. Last time Joseph had asked him to do this, Joseph had started punching things. "Uhhh... are you sure this isn't something I can't do from here?" He suggested half-heartedly.

Joseph sighed "Its fine I cant use my powers right now Da'are is asleep." Joseph waved his hand as a signal for Zack come and sit down.

Not quite understanding how that changed the fact that Joseph might get mad again, but taking his word for it because he liked the man and felt he should trust his teammates, Zack came closer this time. He sat down by Joseph, keeping his eyes carefully trained on the man's hands just in case.

Joseph laid down onto Zack when he sat down and closed his eyes "See your a much better pillow than the ground." Joseph closed his eyes and just relaxed feeling the warmth of the fire. "I wonder where the jailbait is? She probably in the candy room." Joseph sprawled out over Zack for a second so he could get comfortable. "Sorry the ground is still kinda hard."

Zack stiffened and shifted, thinking unsexy thoughts. Damn Joseph to Hell. Well.. it was maybe a little late for that, but it was no wonder Zack insisted that Joseph wanted him when he did things like this. Still, it took everything Zack had not to respond to what Joseph had said with "So how am I any more comfortable?" Not the time. Instead, Zack bit his tongue and tried to act mature. "Tease." Well. Better than making jokes, at least.

Joseph sat up slowly "Sorry I didn't think you would react like that, well maybe at least not after something so simple." Joseph leaned back legs crossed and supported himself with his arms looking up at the sky letting out a big yawn.

Ani leaned her head onto her other elbow, giving a little mumble in her sleep, kicking her legs in the water slowly...

It's hard not to react that way when I want someone as much as I do you. Zack sighed, not verbalizing the mental rebuttal. As if I haven't been making it perfectly obvious. "We're done now... so how long before we get called back for more work? I thought maybe it'd be immediate, like we'd kill the kid and get brought back down to that room we were in before..." Zack thought out loud, not really wanting an answer from Ekvail, who was starting to drift despite himself. He just wanted to discuss the future with Joseph; even if it wasn't their future.

"Your teammates have returned. You all seem sleepy; maybe you should head back to that place you met up at first to rest." Kodri prompted. "While you're still able to stand on your feet would be best."

Ani gave a sleepy nod and made her way to the ladder, going very slowly up and was definately half asleep. She made her way towards the room, and barely noticed Zack and Joseph, just went over, and layed down, putting her head on Zacks thigh and passing out immediately, mumbling something about moms sandwich...

Joseph let out a sigh "I dont really know, kinda figured we would find out after we killed the kid but I guess maybe it takes them time to process all the missions or something? Anyways at least I have time to enjoy some of the simple things like the fires and stars. I always used to come out here and gaze apon them wondering just what life would hold for me next, but I don't ever think I would have predicted this." Joseph gave out a sigh as he gazed upwards fire warming his feet, wondering just what could have really made his life turn out this way.

Zack was going to complain that he wasn't a pillow, but when he saw how tired the girl was, Zack melted instead. He pet her hair and gave her a small smile. How could something as dangerous as this look so innocent? Joseph, on the other hand... he didn't seem so scary when you knew him, but from appearances, anyone might bet on him winning in a fight with Ani. "Well, I don't think any of us did... but we're adapting marvellous well. In any case, we should probably get this one off to bed, and if you're tired, too, then all the more reason."

As Zack said this, Ani's eyes snapped open, but the colour of them was a telltale red. "I see you all have exerted yourselves to a dismaying extent." Kodri observed in a mutter. "You really should work on your endurance."

"What are you talking about? I feel fine." Zack pointed out, still feeling as energetic as ever.

"Ah, yes. That's part of your power, idiot. You intend to be the powerhouse of the group, and the strong foundation, and so you appear to be. The only problem with that is that your body cannot be fooled forever. Keep it up without resting regularly, and you'll fall without warning to exhaustion."

Zack frowned. He hadn't been aware of that. Could it be possible that he was really just as tired as the others? It was at the moment he thought this that Zack felt a heavy wave of unprecedented weariness. The strain of using his skills so much had taken their toll, with or without his knowledge. "Whoa..."

Joseph looked down to Zacks lap "Man that is so weird sometimes just having you pop up sometimes, anyways its not that i'm really quite tired due to the mission its more from the feeling of being able to relax with some of the things that I used to enjoy you know? Anyways if you wanna take her up to bed im going to stay out here a little longer and enjoy what time I can before I have to go back down to hell again." Joseph gave up on holding himself up and decided to just lay on the ground. "You can put her in any room you want I don't mind after all there are tons. Just don't drop her god knows what kind of complaining we would hear in the morning." He stretched his hands above him and then used them as a pillow.

"I am fully capable of moving on my own, thank you." Kodri claimed from Zack's lap. "I wasn't referring only to you, either, Joseph. Da'are must not have told you yet, but being on the surface and in control of your body wears her out. The more of her own body that she uses to accommodate your needs, the faster her energy burns. We're lower level demons, so we try not to spend too much time out, but Da'are expects more of herself. She'll be on her older brother's level soon, and he adapted especially well to the surface. She wants to be able to say the same."

Zack sat and listened, carefully not pointing out that if Kodri could move, he didn't have to be laying in his lap anymore.

Joseph gave a little chuckle "Well im glad shes trying hard but while shes sleeping ill make sure nothing happens I hope one day she becomes the demon she wants to be maybe she'll even become like Rax'kin that would be good, anyways shouldn't you take her body up to the bed so we know that your not going to try anything devious like last time? Although I have to admit it was funny seeing them freak out for awhile." Joseph looked over at Zack "You know this could be your chance you could have her now if you really wanted her." Joseph started laughing quite a lot, "Sorry just had to I have a perverted mind after all."

Kodri did not respond. Rax'kin was not someone any demon really aspired to be like, but he knew the sentiment behind the words was meant to be positive. As Joseph went on about his and Ekvails' trick, the demon chuckled, and he all but purred as the telepath accused Zack of wanting the little Catholic girl. Flipping over and getting up to sit properly in Zack's lap, the demon wrapped his arms around his other teammate's neck, giving him a wink. "Yes, do take advantage." He teased, giving Ani's best seductive smile and batting his eyes. It was creepily accurate to what any teenage girl might do to someone they fancied.

Zack was caught off guard, staring down into Ani's eyes. She was still a little wet, and wearing only her bathing suit from before. It sort of surprised him that he might actually think of her that way when he knew it wasn't Ani, and he pushed Kodri off of him roughly.

Kodri caught her before she fell, glee transparently displayed on her features. "Careful, now. Don't want to hurt the sleeping girl." He mocked, standing up. He shrugged, starting to walk away. His eyes still glinted dangerously, but for now he seemed to have decided it was a better plan to back off. "All right, all right... but don't say I didn't offer. Make sure you two get inside soon. You're only human, for the most part, when your demons are asleep."

Joseph started to chuckle "You know for a minute there I would have sworn you were gonna take her right there and then. You know I would have even left you two alone." Joseph gave another chuckle before looking back up to the sky. "You know I dont really think she would mind to much if you had done it after all she obviously likes you but anyways she would only be upset that it wasn't her you did but her demon and that would be cruel now wouldn't it? Also I dont mean to be an asshole I just have a weird way of saying things. But anyways you should get inside for some sleep after all we should most likely go back to hell tomorrow."

Zack's expression darkened. He didn't want to think that Joseph would let him do something like that, especially since he had been right in saying that Zack was close to having taken Kodri up on the offer. It was tempting, but they couldn't afford problems within their team. Stone-faced, Zack stood up and turned away from his partner in crime. "Don't tell her..." He said hollowly, making his way back to Joseph's house. He hated being in this position. Hated more that he didn't know if he could hold out against it. It bothered him that he had been trained for a purpose, but that the same training that was supposedly meant to help them overcome their missions was now causing him to become distracted from them. He didn't bother searching very far, and fell asleep in the first room that he could find with an empty bed.

Joseph sighed as Zack left he was all alone now and he felt like a jerk for the way he acted. Joseph got up and added some more wood into the fire and poked it around a bit before sitting down and keeping warm beside the fire, it had been awhile since he slept outside this would be his room for the night the wood would burn through the night so there was nothing to worry about except for sleeping on the ground.

Ani woke up early the next morning, her stomach growling loud. She got up still a bit sleepy and found her way to the kitchen and to the fridge, grabbing eggs and starting to make eggs and bacon, and a bit of toast...

Joseph woke up with the bright shining sun in his face. He sat up and brushed off his head from some dirt. He got up and went inside and smelt something good coming from the kitchen. "Morning little one, didn't think you knew how to cook? Anyways im going up to have a shower ill be down later ok?" Joseph made his way up to the bath room and undressed preparing to get in the shower. He looked over and saw something there "Oh god thats not a bed stupid boy" Joseph said seeing that Zack had fallen asleep in the tub, Joseph turned on the water giving Zack a rude awakening, if he even heard something about him being naked he would regret it.

Ani smiled "Of course i can cook, how else am i going to eat?" she asked, chuckling. She flipped the eggs and dumped the bacon onto a papertoweled plate. "Have fun in the bath" she said chuckling. She finished up the food and set it on plates on the table, enough to feed the three of them, and sat to eat her breakfast, pouring orange juice for herself.

Zack was startled into alertness by a sudden surge of water. He reflexively jerked up and away from the source, accidentally hitting his head off of the side of the tub. He clutched at the now throbbing spot on his head and grudgingly looked around, only really half awake still. His clothes were getting wet from sitting in the tub this long with the water running, but he didn't want to get up all the way. "...Joseph?" Zack winced as the pain shot through his skull, but he was very much aware of the facts now that Joseph was naked and very nearby. It was only by luck that Zack remembered in time that he was in the tub/shower. Joseph had probably wanted to get in. This was his wake-up call. With a groan, he lifted himself up using the edge of the tub.

"What'm I doin' 'n here?" He mumbled, yawning.

"Well thats obvious isn't it?" Joseph said helping him out "You were so tired yesterday that when you went to bed you thought this was a bedroom." Joseph got in the shower himself "Anyways im sorry about what I said yesterday I shouldn't have gone so far, anyways the little one down stairs cooked breakfast you should eat." Joseph turned his back to him and began to soak him before he grabbed the soap and began to scrub off all the dirt from the ground he slept on.

She was just finishing up her breakfast and doing up the dishes, and when she was done that she started a pot of water for a spot of tea, since she found her favourite tea in the cupboard. She also started making sandwiches for lunch so then she wouldnt have to make anything then if they went out to do somehting or something...

"...Yeah." Zack decided it wasn't worth the effort to say that he was not upset with the other man so much as with himself. He had spent the night thinking about the events of the last few days, however, and he believed himself to be set now. "Food sounds good..." He admitted, thinking of what kinds of food Joseph might have. It was curious that Ani was the one cooking in his old house, but regardless he would not turn down a meal that had been prepared for him. He took the steps two at a time and dashed into the kitchen, grabbing Ani from behind and hugging her. "Mornin' tiny."

She squeeked a bit, surprised he had snuck up on her, and waited to be set down before smiling "Morning... I made breakfast, bacon, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, i can whip up some toast if youd like... im just setting the tea on, and theres orange juice in the fridge... Feel free to help youorself, ive already eaten.... and why in the world are you wet?!" she asked, finally realizing that she was soaked on her back from when he had hugged her...

Joseph heard him head out of the bathroom and began to wash himself finishing up and drying himself with a towel. He wrapped it around himself and headed down stairs for some food sitting in front of the plate that didn't have as much he wasn't to hungry "So I guess your new name is Tiny eh?" Joseph said with a chuckle taking a bite of the food "Food isn't bad, but I need milk." Joseph said getting up and heading over to the fridge only to find out there was none. Joseph let out a sigh and moved the fridge to its side which revealed a hidden steel door. He opened it up and walked inside coming out with a bag of milk and setting the fridge back in place. It was to bad that he was the only one who knew how to get into it. He poored himself a glass and sat back down continuing to eat the food.
