Ran scanned the area for sign that they might be noticed. Then the redhead lowered a rope for her friends. she scrambled down the other side, taking the other end of the rope with her, and secured it to help them over.

If the redhead pulled this off, she'd summon her friends to hurry over and join her with a bird call.

Hearing the bird calls, the other girls jogged over to the wall.

Susan slung her crossbow across her back and made her way deftly and quietly up the wall, using the rope for aid, trying to only plant her boots in secure places. Not as strong as Biri, she was well practiced in such manuvers from her time a as a mercinary in the Crimson Century.

Climb=13

Once she got over, Susan crouched nex tto Ran, and both girls stood ready with arrow knocked and quarrel prepared.

Kylessa gestured for Biri to go next. The Dragonborn girl quietly nodded and started up the rope. Despite the weight of her armor, the servant of Lathander was both strong and skilled, and as she'd originaly prepared for time in the City Watch and then joined the church of a god who valued athleticiisim.

Climb=11

Th bladesinger went last, frowning in concentration as she started moving lythely up the wall. She always had been more nible than strong, better at walking a high wire than climbing a rope, but her grace served her well this time.

Climb=18

With all four of the women having made it up to the top of the wall they were all able to see the inside of it. With their entry to the ruined fort complete, they would only need to find their way to the northern tower, where their target was supposedly located. They were quickly able to orient themselves and find which way was north, and from the looks of things that particular tower was still standing tall and proud in spite of the damage that had been done to the others. A quick look at it showed that there was a door at the base of it on the interior that looked only partly broken, they could try to go through it and see if there was a way up from there.

Or they could try to find another way up, should they not want to try the door. Either way, the choice was theirs.

As they approach the door they can easily see that it has a rather large chunk missing from the top, allowing them to see into the base of the tower. Inside they can see a primitive torch flickering with a dying light, revealing a floor cluttered with the refuge of countless years. It's possible that something of value exists within the various piles, if one was willing to dig for it. Directly across from them is a stone, spiraling staircase that leads upwards.

From their position just outside the tower Susan and Ran can both hear the faint sound of a voice speaking an unknown language above them. At least one being is up there, though more are certainly possible.

If you want to enter the tower I'll need you to make stealth checks for the characters.

Before the girls went any deeper, Biri quietly enchanted the other three with a spell of Aid, to hearten their life force.

She fell back to the rear as they advanced, knowing that—especially in her scale—she would be one of the loudest.

22 Ran
15 Kylessa
22 Susan
11 Biri

All four women were able to creep into the tower, the door being almost miraculously quiet as they pushed it open. Now that they were inside the voice above was much more clear, a deep and cruel tone that carried down the stairwell. A moment later there was a small thump sound that was followed almost immediately by a relatively high-pitched yelp. The two voices conversed for a few seconds longer before the latter one seemed to leave.

The girls looked around carefully. They wanted to see what was up there, but if there were other places they should check first, they didn't want to leave live enemies down here to catch them in a pincer!

A quick look around the room found two things of any real significance, both of them doors. The doors were positioned in such a way that it was clear that they led into what had once been the walls of the fort. A quick look into the hallways behind them showed little but darkness and crumbling stone, though not so much that the paths couldn't be traveled. Thus the group of four had four directions that they could go in from here: Up the stairs, down the eastern hallway, down the western hallway, or back out the door they'd entered through.

Despite the fact that it was still just after noon, the inside of the fort's remains was damp and cool. In addition, it was also clear that it had been the home of goblins for some time, with scraps of garbage and minor remains left scattered along the path. As they moved though the women eventually noted a flickering light in the distance, and as they approached they could also hear the sound of metal being struck coming from behind a door much like the one they'd passed through to get here.

Once they got close enough the women could hear a voice behind the door, low and grumbling, whoever was speaking was clearly in a bad mood. The language being spoken was unknown to most of them, with Biri being the sole exception to that. The Dragonborn recognized the words she could hear as being Dwarvish. While she couldn't hear everything through the door a few words caught her attention, those being '...like a slave...' and '...kill them all, and their families...'' If nothing else, whoever was behind that door had a lot of anger in them.

Now that she was closer Biri could feel a bit of heat radiating from the door, and given how cold the forest was it was a bit pleasant. She was also able to hear what the gruff voice was saying in greater detail. "Damn goblins, don't even have the basic decency to give me decent materials..." Suddenly there was a great clanging of metal, followed by a splashing noise and a loud hiss. "... Should be working in my family forge, not for these filthy beasts..." The voice trails off as the clanging sounds begin again
