Leila sighed to herself as she walked down the dark streets of Venice. She was hurrying as she did so. She knew her mother would be worried that she was out so late. The recent killings had rattled everybody's coin boxes. Before the recent incidents, there wasn't much crime spoken about. Murder wasn't a very cheerful topic at the dinner table, but these killings were in the back of everyone's mind for the simple reason that the killer was still at large.

The people were upset with the law enforcement right now. It was simply unacceptable that the killer still be at larger after 11 victims had been found dead. How did they know it was the same person killing all these people? That was easy; every victim had been killed the same way. The only wounds found on the body were two deep holes in the victimâ??s neck. How such minuscule wounds could kill was beyond anyone. The victims were always female and their bodies were always drained of blood. Leila herself had wondered how someone could have been killing this way.

The church had taken the killings and used them to gather more followers. They claimed that demons were among us, that we should look to the Holy Father for strength, guidance and protection. Leila herself was catholic but even she felt that what they preached was a bit farfetched and every Sunday she found herself becoming bored in church. Even now as she hurried down the street, one of the priests was preaching and urging all to look to god.

She sighed to herself and turned down the alley way, it was a short cut she always took to get home. However today she would find a surprise waiting for her. She stopped dead in her tracks at the sight she saw. It was a twelfth victim. She ran over to the woman's body. Perhaps she was still alive.

She shook her a little "Hey, can you hear me". She moved her ear down to her mouth. The woman breathed out the words "Run...away...monster...is...here...". She pulled away to look at her. Her body went limp and cold. She was gone. Leila looked down a little and said a silent prayer for her as her moved her hand up to close her eyes. She looked around, her eyes darting around, trying to see if she was safe herself. When she found she was alone she was relived a little. She looked back at the body and saw the two wounds in the neck. She was puzzled as to what could cause such a wound and where was all the blood this woman had lost.

She stood up and sighed. She looked around; no one had seen her yet. She really didn't want to be the "damsel in distress" she couldn't just leave her here. She walked back out of the alley and told a police man that was walking by. She showed him the body and left it at that, turning to leave again. She walked out of the alley and continued to walk home. She felt a little shaken by what she had just experienced. This was a bit unusual for the green eyed and brown curly haired maiden. She was very headstrong in experiences like this. But sheâ??d never seen a dead person. She felt a bit strange inside.

Devlin had been living in Venice for a good few weeks now, and he had been enjoying what it had to offer via their women, and parties. Though he couldn't enjoy the food or the wine, he could enjoy the blood that was to be taken. He had killed 11 of their women recently and they all thought it was some sort of wicked demon, which wasn't too far off. He was the undead, the living deceased, and he had been alive for thousands of years.

People were running scared from the "Demon of Venice", his new favorite title that he heard, but the women were so damn gullible that it wasn't even fair. Most of the time he didn't even have to glamor them because they were so into him anyway. He slowly looked at the women in his hands as he laughed and tossed her to the side. He'd already drained her and upped his count to twelve. Tonight he intended on making people know that he had no intention of leaving until he had killed and used up every woman in that town.

He heard someone coming down the alley way and he disappeared onto the top of the building beside the girl and he looked down smirking. He knew that he left the woman barely alive, but when she spoke it was clear that something had just attacked her and she was scared. He knew that this new girl would be cautious when she found out that he was nearby, but until then he was enjoying the view of his latest victim suffering.

He felt a cool breeze come sweeping in as it blew his hair out of his face and he laughed softly to himself while the girl tried to bring his latest victim back into consciousness. The girl died seconds after saying something about a monster being nearby and to run away.

He didn't like being called a monster, but at this point he didn't care because he'd found his newest victim. He waited for her to get rid of the guard, but she just walked away and he laughed loudly into the night before appearing next to her with a sick smirk on his face, "You should have listened to the woman, she was very smart. You're not safe in this town because as the "Demon of Venice" it's my responsibility to keep these humans under control." He said grabbing her and turning her neck so he could smell her and determine if she was worth it or not. He took a deep breath as he took in her scent and it was intoxicating.

"You're far too special to waste right here." He said as he picked her up and carried her back to his home smirking. He looked at her, "What is so special about you that makes you smell so good?"

Leila jumped in fear when he suddenly appeared next to her. She looked at him as he spoke and she didn't like the look on his face. Before she even had a chance to reacted he had grabbed and was smelling her neck. She thought she was about to die and she struggled. "Get away from me!" she cried out, kicking and punching him.

When he picked her up and carried her, she continued to struggle, kicking and screaming till he put her down in his home. She stared at him angrilly. Of course she would not know the answer to his question.

She stared at him and said "Let me go, You monster!" she said pointing a finger at him. She was afraid of him. Anyone would be, one would just have to look in her eyes to see it. He had just killed a women, he would not hesitate in killing her if he wanted to.

He looked her up and down and smirked, "I would never let you go, not until you're good and used up in every sense of the word. I was thinking, maybe tonight I should make you my bitch, and then in the morning you would have to deal with yourself while I slept." he said laughing at her feeble attempt to scare him.

"Listen to me woman, your threats and pointing fingers do not scare me. I have the strength all your men wish they had, I have the speed no animal could match, and I am a very angry person, so do not try to tempt me. I could kill you with the flick of my wrist." He said smirking.

He looked around and then he sat her down in a chair smirking, "You know its funny to see how people act once they realize that they're so close to death. You, you act tough even though you're far beyond scared, and yet you persist with this attempt to make me want to free you."

Leila looked at him as he spoke to her. She glared at him when he said he could kill her if he wanted to. "Then why don't you" she asked him, almost tauntingly. He sat her in the chair and she glared at him angrilly. What the hell did this creature want with her. He had already eaten had he not?

She looked at him and said "What do you want with me?" she said angrilly. How how she wished she had listened to her mother when she told her to come home before the sun was out.

"Because I like to play with my food. Mother always said that it would be a bad idea to play with one's food, but I always thought otherwise. Human women can be so fun to fuck before I devour their magnificent blood." He said as he looked into her eyes, "Don't tempt me because I am not some gullible man who would snap your neck without reason." He said smiling at her.

"I want to eat you, but not quite yet. Like I said, you're far too special to just eat and throw away. I feel like keeping you for a good little while before I toss you back to your Venetians." He said smirking.

Leila looked at him as he spoke. To him she was noting more than food. She glared at him and said "So your going to keep me here against my will is it?" she asked him with a frown. This day was getting worse and worse by the second.

She glared and said "I hope you rot in hell"

He nodded, "Yeah that's pretty much what I plan to do, until I fuck you so much you're useless to any man, and drink from you till you can barely live." He said smiling as he looked at her, "Aw don't pout lovely. Tell me your name." He said smiling as he looked out the window.

"Save me a seat. Sinner." He whispered in her ear, "You'll be there long before me."

Leila glared at him. Is this how it was going to be for her now. To get raped by this thing before she was tossed away like a piece of meat.

When he asked for her name she refused to answer. She heard him whisper into her ear and she looked away and said "God see's all" she said frowning at him. "The only one of us going to hell will be you"

He laughed, "You're right. God sees all, and he knows about your sins, and all those other women I killed. They died and went to hell. I know." he said smirking.

"How about while I sleep this morning you go out and get something to eat. If you do it and come back then I will reward you. If you don't then I will punish you severely. Trust me, you don't want to push me. So, here is some money. I must rest until dark. Enjoy the day, but be here by sundown. If I find out that you have tried to pull anything you will find yourself in a very bad situation, and if you involve anyone their lives will be the toll you pay to live."

She glared at him as he spoke to her. She took his money and looked at him and said "Do what you want". She got up and turned to leave the house, stepping through the front doors and outside into the sun. Like she wasn't going to try to run. She walked through the streets till she reached the main part of town. She walked to the markets and got her self some breakfast. Before she headed into the church. He wouldn't be able to enter this holy building right? she was sure of it.

She spent the day at the altar praying to god, holding her cross in her hands.

He heard her getting ready to leave and then she took off as he sat in his room and lied down on the bed trying to sleep. He wished that he could be out there but he couldn't. He hoped that she would be smart enough to come back on time and not to bring any of her companions or priests or anything. He growled, "I will do what I want, but you better be back here when I told you to be." He said as he walked back to the room once more. He didn't know what else to do but sleep.

He woke up right at dusk and waited for her return, and he just hoped for her sake that she would be there.

Leila did not return when he was meant to. She stayed in the church and bathed in holy water before continuing to pray. She knew he would come looking for her. She only hoped that her theory was correct. She hoped that he would not be able to enter the church. She was afraid, more afraid then anything. The father had asked her if anything was wrong but she said nothing. She did not want to endanger his life as well.

When she didn't show up he growled loudly and searched the town for her sent as he looked at the church. "What a naive fool." He growled as he bust open the doors and looked at her, "You really don't get that I mean what I say!" He yelled as he ran up to her with lightning speed and took her back to his place. "You are a fool. Tonight I drink from you for the first time." He said as he pushed her down on the table.

Leila jumped when she heard the doors of the church burst open. She turned to look at him, fear in her eyes as he ran to her and picked her up again and took her back to his house. She struggled the whole way. She felt him push her down onto the table and she heard him speak and she struggled and said "No! go away!"

He growled, "I give you freedom for the whole day and you do not follow what I had said to you! You are idiotic, and naive." He said slapping her as he turned his back for a moment, "I am going to drink from your thigh." He said as he spread her legs out wide and pushed up her dress so he could bite her inner thigh. He did so and he drank slowly not wanting to take too much. He needed to keep her strong enough to be alive.

She felt his slap and she cried out in pain. She watched as he wrenched open her legs and pushed up her dress. "No!" she cried out and began to and struggle, not making it easy for him.

He pinned her down with his superior strength and he just drank from her until he was full and he pulled back his fangs as he looked at her. "Next time follow my orders. If I find out that you have told anyone about this I will kill them and make it look like you did it." He whispered in her ear.

Leila continued to struggle against him until he pulled away. "Who do you think you are?! You Don't own me" she spat at him.

He laughed as he pointed to the blood covered holes on her thigh, "I do now." He whispered as he slapped her again, "You really like being hurt don't you?"

She cried out again once she was slapped. She glared at him and said "You'll never own me and I'll never listen to you!"

He looked at her, "You should take that back unless you want to become my slave. I could turn you, or glamor you past your own sanity."

She glared at him and said nothing and looked away, hating him more by the second. She'd never take it back, her pride wouldn't allow her to do so.

He looked at her, "You know any one of those girls would kill to have your situation. They would be so happy to be alive that none of this would matter. Who made you so high and mighty? Are you the daughter of a queen? I don't think you are." He said as he looked her up and down, "In fact I'm sure you're not. If you were there would have been hundreds of signs to indicate it. So get off of your high horse and realize that your life depends on your ability to listen and follow instructions." He said as he sat with her.

She looked at him and righted her skirts her dress and said "I'm no slave! You want a slave, go get someone else!" she said to him with an angry glare on her face. She looked at him and said "I could say that same to you, Who are you to grab me off the street and expect me to listen to you!" she said angrilly
