A powerful queen has a daughter, that daughter is her one and only child and her heir by that fact and this is the fact the public knows as the truth... the reality is not quite that simple as many years ago the queen in a moment of weakness and shame let a man of... low moral standings taint her body with his seed and from that regrettable night a son was born.
In shame the queen gave the child away, letting the secret stay just that from the public and her enemies in the court.
Yet time has passed... and it seems the princess has fallen both body and heart for a common street hoodlum who is both younger then her... and unbeknown to them both... her half-brother.

That's the general basics of it. There is other more plot like subjects to it as well.
Such as "WHY" the Queen is so keen to the point of even sleeping with her own son to keep the fact he exists a secret from her enemies in the court.(hint, the laws of the kingdom favor even younger male heirs over their older sisters... and maybe even their mothers)
