Though they hadn’t known each other for long, it was quite interesting for Nou to see Thanrir so angry. He growled ferociously, his eyes and fangs alone speaking of how furious he was. All because two stupid humans were too drunk to restrain their foul comments to her. She could see how terrified the men were, as well. It made her laugh, knowing that the frightening sight of Thanrir was enough to nearly make them soil themselves in terror. Despite this, Thanrir was still easy enough to bring out of his bloodlust, using mere words rather than magic to catch his attention. He explained what the girls were doing here and, truthfully, she felt a bit of relief. Though she hadn’t used magic on her mate, she would on them, if only to distract them from…whatever it was he planned to do to the men.
”I see. Well, I suppose I can’t begrudge you the occasional curious villager,” she teased, offering him a grin before he turned to glare at the drunks. She turned to the women that had followed him inside, her magic flowing into their minds only slightly, getting them to focus on her and her alone. ”So you want to know about Thanrir and I. Curious about what it’s like, I imagine. Let us sit.”
She guided them to a few empty tables, making sure to keep them out of harm’s way while also taking a seat for herself that gave her a good view of her mate. She grinned as the conflict began, but tried to keep her attention divided.
”So, dears, what is it you want to know?”
”W…well…we heard rumors, miss…” the elf girl Thanrir had lead in squeaked up. ”The guards…they s-said that…the gnolls probably share you…or…that they all take you at once…”
Nou laughed loudly, hardly believing her own ears.
”Oh, my silly girl. Thanrir isn’t one to share. Besides, I’m not a toy for the pack. I’m his mate. I fed them when they needed it most, they’ve protected me thus far, and…well…” She paused, as if for dramatic effect, her eyes glancing over to his sinewy form as he fought off the drunks. ”…He has been quite eager to…satisfy my needs.”
The girls suddenly seemed visibly enthralled by her words, a genuine reaction from them. They leaned forward, a few of them biting their lower lips.
”I’ve had men in the past, mostly humans and elves…but by comparison…Gods, they’re inferior,” she went on, noticing some of the girls blushing cheeks. ”He is vigorous, thorough, and intent on my pleasure as well as his own. You wouldn’t think it to look at him from a distance, but his hands and tongue…they are most skilled. And of course, his manhood…well, I never can seem to get enough of him.”
She noticed some of the women were now breathing a bit heavy, as if fantasizing. Perhaps there were more women interested in being bedded by Gnolls than she thought…or maybe she simply awoke these feelings inside them with her talk.
”So…th-they never hurt you? They don’t smack you around or call you a whore?”
”Never,” she replied firmly. ”In fact, he has been…quite displeased with those who disparage me.”
Her eyes once more flit over to her mate just as he seized one of the men by head before slamming his face into the bar. Seeing him breathing heavy and snarling, adrenaline no doubt pumping through his veins…it certainly made a familiar warmth grow inside her.
”I see…we had heard…well…we heard that Gnolls were more beastly than that…” the girl replied, almost looking ashamed. ”That they kidnapped human women often…only to ravage them or…or worse…”
She understood that fear. At one time, she may have thought the same thing. She thought now about those in the pack she informed of the humans and elves that longed for a Gnoll companion. She hoped that they wouldn’t betray what she told these women. She glanced out the window, just in time to see Murrow strolling by with an almost lazy gait. He looked quite relaxed, his arm around an elven woman who, likewise, looked pleased. She breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that the neediest one of the bunch was behaving himself.
”No, you needn’t worry about them. Thanrir is very keen on discipline, and those in his pack do not disobey him,” she paused again, her grin widening. ”Perhaps…you girls would like to meet the pack? If you’re especially curious, I’m sure some would be…most happy to make your acquaintance.”
Some of the girls looked frightened, others excited, including the elf girl that had been forced to make contact.
”O-oh! But…we-we couldn’t! We don’t want to be a problem—“
She halted just as Thanrir came back to their table, clearly in a slightly better mood. Nou grinned back at him as he stood beside her.
”Please, I knew they couldn’t take you. I’m pleased to see that you at least left them alive. Perhaps they’ll think twice before being so rude,” she replied calmly. Now that the magic no longer kept the girls’ eyes on her, they turned to see the decimation Thanrir had brought to the two troublemakers, softly gasping and whispering to each other. ”And that, girls, is what happens when a Gnoll’s mate is humiliated or threatened by anyone. You see…the only ones in danger are the ones that try to bring you harm.”
She chuckled as she saw them talking to each other excitedly. Though she couldn’t quite make out their whispering voices, Thanrir would have no trouble hearing them discuss the idea of seeing if the pack would be willing to bring them along. Nou turned to glance up at him, feeling quite exhilarated after watching his barroom brawl.
”So, Kadan, I hope you’re not feeling too tired after fighting them off. Of course…if you were, I’d be happy to find us a room,” she teased, offering a wink. ”I saw Murrow pass by earlier, by the way, strolling with a woman. They both looked quite…satisfied.”
