While there were a few merchants one would consider wealthy, most f the wealth belonged to either the major and minor nobles along with some of the trade agreements of merchant guilds. If one counts illegal profit, pirates would count too.

"It does sound nice having been able to read with your father. I suppose that it must be hard living here where most people cannot read," he wondered out loud.

Alaina smiled "my father was nobility, with his title came certain restrictions ones he hated I think he used these books to escape his reality if only for a short, I think that because that is what I do now." She sighed. "As for living where most people can not read that is not the hard it's hard living where people can not see" he statement was kind of cryptic but she figured he would understand that what she ment was the people could she meant no harm
