Amelia circled the aircraft with her clipboard, checking off each individual item on the list, making sure everything was in perfect working order, and noting anything that needed to be fixed or double checked. The checklist was over 3 pages long, but she knew that everything had to be perfect. If anything went wrong during their flight, it could mean certain disaster for them both. The CO of their squadron came over to see if they had any questions or concerns. Amelia pointed out a few items on her list.
"Sir, I noticed that this part here is missing a single screw, that this one had a small dent in it..." she went down the list of the discrepancies on the plane that she took note of. Most of it was cosmetic, or not vital, but she wanted to make sure it was on point. CO Perkins nodded at each item and signed off on her checklist. "Great Job Brown. Carry on." He turned and walked over to the next craft to help them with their inspection. Amelia beamed with delight that she'd done everything right and had been given the go-ahead. She climbed into the cockpit, strapped on her helmet, and gave Aaron the signal that she was ready to go.
Strapped into the seat she flipped the proper switches to turn on her computers and trackers. Aaron flipped the switch that closed the hatch, and Amelia took a deep breath. She was nervous. Hadn't ever flown with Aaron before, and while she had faith that he knew what he was doing, she still didn't know what to expect. She sat back and relaxed while he taxied out and then took off without a hitch. She monitored her guages and computer screen for anything out of the ordinary, but so far so good.
