The Halfling was beginning to build up, the minutes ticking as he continued to plunge deep within Akila. Her tongue playing with his fingers sent a shiver down Eli’s spine, allowing him to release. A soft grunt left Eli’s mouth, his lips still against her back as pleasure rolled off of his hulking form. Taking a second, the Halfling removed himself from her juicy walls before he took a deep breathe, his lips traveling up her back and neck while his fingers from his free hand slid down her body. With ease – Eli had found her clit again, playing with her as his juice’s dripped from her pussy while his semi-hard member rested against the woman’s ass cheek.

He finally found release and sank out of her, leaving her feeling oddly empty. She was about to think they were done when he started playing with her, and Akila sighed. How long did this man run for? She was already exhausted, and terrified of being caught. She had a good track record with guards. it wouldn't help to be caught.

"We should steal our clothes back and get out of here," she whispered, looking over her shoulder, "Staying here isn't wise."

Eli took a deep and slightly annoyed breathe, she was right. Kissing the back of her neck in agreement.

“I’ll distract him.” The Halfling grunted. He may have cum, but he still wasn’t finished. Standing up with ease, the overly tall man walked around the open green space before walking out.

“You know you have terrible timing.” The Halfling grunted, his emerald eyes darkened with the inconvenience this guard had put them in. The guard was short, hitting Eli’s shoulder at most – of which forced the man to look up at the immortal being.

Akila didn't know he wasn't finished with her, or for the matter when he said he'd "distract" he meant he was buying more time for them to continue, not for her to slip away. She wasn't trying to play hard to get as she slipped away in the opposite direction, scooping up thier clothes and prancing back into the undergrowth. They hadn't built a forest in here, more like a few clusters of trees amongst mostly low plants enabling guards to see anyone. The fact Akila and Elijah had even found a blind spot was amazing.

Returning to the spot they'd left she dropped his clothing then tugged on hers, hearing his voice in the distance but paying no attention to it. Akila knew in order to not get caught she'd need to be crafty. Fully clothed once more she flexed her fingers, and every atom and molecule in her sprung to life, humming and vibrating, separating until she was no longer made of flesh. Until she was pure smoke.

Her form was dark though, and if she swirled under a sun beam she'd be caught. But now her body wasn't refined to one shape and she easily flattened to the ground, racing along it as she kept to the shadows. When she got close to the front entrance where a guard waited she slipped up along the wall, hiding above his head. Her smokey form moved along the dome like a snake, then turned under the archway and disappeared to freedom. She continued running along the ceiling though, careful to avoid wandering eyes until she found the open archway to the library, not far from the gardens. Akila was able to slip in undetected and hide between two shelves as she shifted back, grabbing the first book she found and checking it out before hastily leaving the room. No one would catch on to her funny business, unless a particular guard was following her every footstep. But the guards had much to do, it was why so many thing slipped through their fingers, and besides they were more worried about violent patients than a couple fucking behind a tree.

With rosy cheeks and a stupid grin Akila made her way back to her cell, knowing curfew was just about on them and she didn't want to give anyone a reason to demote her. She had a book for the night, and a handful of pleasant memories to relive over and over.

Taking a break

It had only been a day but if felt like a lifetime since Akila had been in the gardens with Elijah. Even after the guards escorted her to her cell, her punishment was lifted. How, she had no idea, but Akila took the chance, escaping into the one room she felt safe. The gardens provided that for many like Akila, that need to pretend they were somewhere else. I can do that now with my mind though. I know I can. I just...I don't know how.

Walking along the path she found a lonely bench shaded by a couple trees and sat, enjoying the silence around her.

“Hey Sam,” she asked the man. “Would you take me to the gardens? I’m not 100% sure I can find it, and I really wanna go there.” The old man smiled and gave her nod before opening her door. “You’ve got to ask young lady. Come on. It would be my pleasure to escort such a lovely young lady to the gardens.” Kaige gave him an apprehensive look. He too note and reacted quickly to disarm her worries. “You have nothing to fear young lady. I’ll make sure none of the guards do anything to you. You have my word.” She gave him a nod in return and exited her cell. She wanted to go to the garden, and this man was her only way for now. If he truly did keep her safe, that would be a bonus.

He took her down the hall and to the garden entrance where he bowed to her. “Here you are young lady. I hope you enjoy your time. I’ll be making my rounds. Just keep an eye out for me if you would like an escort back to your cell later.” With a smile he turned to leave her. Kaige wanted to tell him thank you, but it seemed to go against who she was. Instead she turned and headed inside.

It was more brilliant than she remembered. Smiling Kaige let her hands brush against all the lush greenery as she made her way deeper into her escape. It wasn’t until she caught sight of someone else that she stopped in her tracks and her smile vanished. After she realized who it was, Kaige looked around before heading closer towards her slowly. “Hey you,” she called out. “You didn’t have to do that you know. I could have taken whatever they threw at me for punishment. I could have,” she paused, seeing the woman’s face. “Wow. What the fuck happened to you?”

"Huh?" her head rose as Kaige called out to her, her blue eyes piercing even from a distance, "Please...please don't come near me Kaige. I don't...I don't know if I'm in control. A doctor...she...she pushed me too hard. I...I snapped. And now I look like this!"

Her head dropped into her hands as her shoulders shook, tears building in her eyes. What was happening to her? She had wanted a cure to get better, not to become worse.

Kaige only heard one thing. She rushed closer, leaning down in front of Akila to get a better look at her. “Who….pushed you,” she asked her, her anger clear. “Did they….hurt you Akila? What happened? Tell me.” She lifted her hand, her fingertips touching her chin, tilting her head up so she could see her eyes. “Are you hurt now?” Kaige didn’t care that she said she wasn’t sure if she was in control or not. She took her chances everyday in this place. The doctors and guards were almost as dangerous as some of the patients. Even if Akila lost control, maybe it would be a way out of this place. Either way, it was a win win situation.

Kaige moved, letting her chin go, to sit down next to her. “I meant what I said. You didn’t have to do that for me. Did they..push you..hurt you..because of me..Akila? Who did what? Come on. You gotta tell me. I’m not gonna stop until you do. Do you need anything?” She began to run her fingers through her hair, moving it back so she could see her face. “Talk to me Akila.”

Akila's eyes grew wide, the blue glow within them shining as Kaige closed the distance, "I...I can't talk about it."

If she did, Dr. Vera would indeed kill her. She had made that clear every session when she drank from Akila. As much as the girl hated it, hated being touched and groped, the thought of death stilled her tongue.

"They'll kill me if I talk," she whispered, "The doctor...they...they pushed me to react. They were being just...just so mean. They knew i didn't melt the trays, they wanted me to tell the truth. But I didn't. I held on."

She looked up at Kaige, "If I tell the truth now, they will hurt both of us. We can't, we can't own up to it Kaige."

“Ssshhh now,” she told her, still running her fingers through her hair. “They won’t do anything to you when the truth comes out. I’ll….take care of it. I’ll tell them I threatened you. They won’t have any problem believing that, but you,” she told her, wanting to change the subject. “Don’t go around doing things like that. You can’t put yourself in danger for somebody else here, especially somebody you don’t even know. I could be an evil bitch, bent on world domination and the destruction of all man kind, and you helped me. Don’t do that. I can handle these monsters here. Hell they already done took so much from me, but you? Well Akila,” she said with a laugh. “You belong in here about as much as I belong at some fancy dinner party. We both know where we belong, and it sure as hell ain’t here for you, and I don’t belong at no big table all dressed up. It’s not that I ain’t grateful for it and all, but it was really stupid. You gotta say you won’t do that again.”

Kaige looked back towards the door, her entire facial expression changing as soon as she knew Akila couldn’t see. She wanted to rush from there and find a doctor, any doctor, and ask them what the hell was wrong them. She wanted to burn something, anything, and make them feel as bad as Akila did. “We’re locked up as monsters when the real monsters are the ones that should be helping us. Hell if that ain’t backwards, I don’t know what is.” She had moved her hand from her hair and was now rubbing her back. “You ain’t gotta tell me nothing Akila. It’s cool. I get it. They’ve got you scared, and you should be. These people are here are worse than anybody they got locked up.” She looked back at her, wanting to remain there for now. There would be time to fix this, and Kaige intended on it. “So anything you do wanna talk about? Do you work in here too,” she asked her, again trying to change the subject.

Akila closed her eyes, soothed by Kaige's hand stroking her hair. She nodded in response to Kaige's words. She had learned her lesson; never again. But at least she might have gained a friend from this, not that she wanted to ask and be disappointed.

"You're right," she whispered, tears building again, "I thought they'd find a cure for me. That's all I wanted. But the staff here, all they want is our bodies to experiment on. To play with. Because no one knows we are here, they think its right to treat us like lab rats."

“You’re right,” she tells her. “About everything. They think we don’t know, but we do. I didn’t know nobody else knew we were here though. That means none of us have family outside this place, and you know what? I think that’s terrible. I remember having a family at one time, and I gotta say….it didn’t suck all the time. I guess that’s all family,” she laughed. “Don’t..cry..Akila. If you cry, then they win. Don’t let ‘em win. You’re stronger than that. Okay? Hell from the sound of it, you fought back today, and that takes a damn strong woman. Hell I would’ve loved to have seen it. Don’t care which monster it was you unloaded on. I would’ve still loved to have seen it. They pushed you. They deserved it. So don’t feel bad. Okay? You did what you had to.”

Kaige couldn’t help but be nice to her. She wanted to. After she took whatever punishment they dealt out to her, it was the least she could do for her, and Kaige was becoming more resolved that nobody was going to hurt her again. “You didn’t answer my question though. Do you work here in the gardens? What are your jobs? Can’t get to know you if you don’t talk to me. Hell we could go get something from the cafeteria. I promise, no melting trays this time, but to be honest, I like it here better. It’s up to you though. For now, right here, you’re in charge.”

Akila turned her head to look at the redhead, "Some have families, but they were killed. I've heard many crying about it, or having nightmares. They get kidnapped, and those few with families lose them. i think a few said they were simply kidnapped, so their families won't know where they went. And the institute works all over the world to collect. No one...no one is connecting the dots."

She looked back down to her hands, biting her lip, "I'm trying to be strong Kaige, I am. And yeah, I work in the gardens. Its my only escape. Aside from the library. Did you get your shifts yet? Oh, are you hungry? I don't think I want to leave the gardens, but I can bring us food."

She opened both her palms and whispered under her breath, wishing for two meals. Out of thin air two plates of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn appeared. She handed Andy one, smiling, "The doctors have no clue what I am, but this power has grown over the years. As long as it doesn't effect anyone else, I can wish for things. Like the genie from Aladdin, except I'm not blue...and well, genies don't exist."
\
She laughed, taking a bite of the chicken, "It's still hot. I, uh, hope you like it."

Her eyes were an even brighter blue as they glued, as if using her magic had made them glow stronger.

She listened to her talk about other people and their families. Sure there were times Kaige was curious about what happened to them. She wondered if they were looking for her as well. Had her family changed their minds and come back for her? She couldn’t help but wonder. The Countess Nox had said she would keep looking for them, and when she had any news, she would come. She never came though. So she never found anything. She wasn’t a liar.

“It’s sad what’s happening here, and it’s happening under everybody’s noses. My shift,” she said moving slightly in her seat, “won’t start for a while now. So I’ve got time.” She smirked when she mentioned food. “Well I’m o-okay,” she stammered as the food appeared from nowhere. “Well slap my ass and call me Susan. That’s amazing.” Her eyes were wide as she looked at the food. Unlike the times when she was in the caferteria, Kaige was hungry, and she was ready to eat. Taking the plate, she picked up the chicken, not bothered by the heat. Biting in, she released the steam into the air. “Oh this is incredible,” she said, her mouth full of food.

Akila went on to talk about her powers, and Kaige paused. Swallowing, she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. She was puzzled and ashamed to ask. Being locked away was bad enough in and of itself, but she had missed out on so much, and her conversation with Akila was proving that. “Who’s….Aladdin….and why is he blue?”

She was mid-bite when Kaige asked and she looked at her incredulously, finishing the food in her mouth, "You...never saw Aladdin? But it was like, a kid classic in America. I mean I never saw it until I moved here, my Orphanage never had the funding for a T.V. It's an animated movie about a boy who finds a genie inside a lamp and gets three wishes. The genie is blue, and can grant him any wish except for true love and stuff. But don't worry, none of its real. Genies don't exist. Just another human fascination in getting free things I guess."

She returned to her food, digging into the corn with her fingers, "Thanks for calming me down Kaige. I don't have any...friends to turn to. Just me. I mean, I'm just too, erm, shy to make friends. And so many die here I - I'm always scared I'll make a friend and lose them."

She explained what it was, and Kaige shook her head. “No,” she told her, her voice falling flat as she looked down at the ground. I’ve been locked up since I was 8. So no. I haven’t seen it. I can’t remember the last thing I ever did see on tv. Can’t remember the last time I even saw a tv.” It was embarrassing that she didn’t know it, but even amid her shame, Kaige was honest.

She continued to feast on the food, pausing as she mentioned having a friend. “I ain’t your friend,” she told her, looking directly at her. “We don’t have family on the outside. Way I see it, some of us in here gotta stick together. It’s the only way we can win and not give in to them. That’s family. I was an only child back then. Guess I ain’t no more, but if you can keep making food like this, then we’re gonna get along just fine.” She was still trying to keep her spirits climbing. Akila had done a great thing for her. Kaige wanted to repay her. “If you ever want your food hotter than it is, let me know. I can crank up the heat real easy. It’ll be our little secret. I got kitchen shifts too. What’s your other shift,” she asked taking a bite of her corn. “Oh my gosh. This is so good!”

Akila was surprised at how long she'd been locked up, but she didn't ask. Eternal Peaks had only been around for five years, meaning someone else must have had her locked up before that. No wonder she lashes out.

"Thank you Kaige," she placed a gentle hand on Kaige's arm, listening to her warm words. "I've never had a family my whole life. They dumped me on the orphanage's front door step when I was born and never came back. Its nice...really nice, to finally have someone on my side. And I'll passon the heat for today. The chicken is still steaming. I'm glad you like it though, I just thought it up quickly."

She looked at her hand as she touched her. Normally Kaige would pull back at this point and threaten the person, but with Akila, she didn’t want to. “So you were dumped off too? Happened when you were a baby. I was older. Guess we got that in common. Sisters linked by being dumped. Not the best of things to have in common, but at least it helps us understand each other. You know?”

Licking her fingers, Kaige continued to eat, filling her mouth and belly with the delicious treat Akila had given her. “Thanks again for the food. Eating in a place like this I’m use to. Sitting in there at a table with people watching and talking shit? Nah. That ain’t for me. I’ll take eating in here any day. Bet it’s pretty in here at night. Can you see the stars,” she asked, her eyes getting wide in hope and excitement. “I’ll bet it’s so cool to eat in here under the stars. You ever do that?”

Sisters. She'd never had a family. Hell she hadn't even had people close to family most of her life. It felt...good.

"Sometimes in the winter when the sun sets early you can see all the stars." It was still light outside, and Akila guessed they hadn't hit fall just yet by how sunny it was, "otherwise we get lucky to see the sun set before curfew. And if your not in your cell by 9pm for the doors to lock, your in trouble. They check all cells at night to make sure none of us are wandering. Don't get caught outside your cell at night Andy. It's not pleasant. And don't think you can sneak back to your cell after curfew. The doors lock from the inside and out. Only a guard can let you in."

She casted her eyes down to her half finished food, her stomach still in knots over the day. Holding out her half eaten plate to Kaige, she offered her the rest. "Not all that hungry tonight. Go ahead."

“Thanks,” she told her taking the plate without hesitation. She wondered if Sam would be willing to work her on seeing the stars. It would certainly be something to discuss with him. She wouldn’t mention to Akila just yet. “Would you like to be in here at night to see the stars? I mean if you could.” Taking a hearty bite, she continued. “Nysa gave me the run down about being in my cell my curfew. Still it’s better than Block C. I haven’t had a mattress in years. I can’t wait to be honest.”

She looked up at the sky still chewing. Kaige had forgotten her table manners over the years. There was no need to not talk with your mouth full when nobody else was around. Forks and spoons weren’t around. So she ate with her fingers , chewed with her mouth open, and talked with food still in her mouth. “Today was the first time I’d seen the sky in a long time you know. It’s why I wanted to work in here so bad. I spent a few months in the forest before they caught me. Still don’t know how in the hell they knew where to find me, but they did. Felt one hell of a pain, and that was it. When I woke up, I was….somewhere else. What was it like when they got you?”

Akila didn't mind the lack of table manners. It made sense if she'd been locked up since he was eight. Her heart went out to the girl, wondering what kind of monster would lock up a kid?

"Me?" she asked, after listening to Kaige's story, giving her a nervous laugh, "They didn't, uh, get me. I moved here for university. When my powers started to trickle in I thought it must be the stress, I had to be hallucinating."

She was embarrassed about the story now, but she trusted Kaige not to laugh at her, "So I admitted myself into a hospital for severe stress. Next thing you know they are putting my in the pysch ward there, saying it was hallucinations and I might be mentally ill. I thought maybe there was something really wrong with me, maybe my parents abandoned me because they knew I had some mentally genetic problem. I was so clueless. About a week in a man came to visit, asked me about everything and ran a few tests, before declaring to the hospital I was truly crazy and needed to be put in a psychatric institute. The nurses candy coated that part, saying I just "needed help" but...but I knew what they were getting at. And then they shipped me here. Did you know to the world this place is like...like the finest psychatric institution in America. It's...it's..."

She rarely sweared but her brows knitted together as she spat it out, "It's fucking bullshit."

That felt better.

Her eyes glowed brighter as she grew angry even thinking about it, "I wasn't crazy. It wasn't hallucinations. They just slapped a label on me so they could dump me here, and no one will think twice, because to them I'm "getting the help I need"."

She was making short work of the food. Kaige was hungrier than she thought. When she mentioned university, she stopped eating once more and starred at her. It took a minute before she realized university meant college. Kaige barely remembered much about life outside her confinement. School was a distant memory. Try as she did, coming up with many memories of school was difficult. She could see a woman, and she guessed that was her teacher. Red hair, like her own. A beautiful voice. Nowhere near as beautiful as Nysa, of course, but she had a beautiful voice. ‘Ms…..Ms…..what was her name?’

She shook off the thoughts, listening to Akila’s story. “What,” she gasped, putting the empty plate on the ground. “The finest psychiatric institution in Amercia? The finest? As in the best? They’re the ones who are crazy if they believe that. I mean…..”She noticed the glow growing stronger, brighter. “Whoooooooa there Akila. Your eyes. Oh..my..gosh,” she whispered. “That’s so cool! But settle down. Okay,” she laughed. “I agree with you, and I ain’t gonna hurt you.” She knew Akila had lost control with one of the doctors, and she didn’t want her to do so again with her. “Hey! Can you make….ice cream? I haven’t had it since I came here. The lady that use to keep me would give it to me sometimes. Think you can make up some?” Oh it was true she hadn’t had ice cream in a long time, but the truth of the matter was, she was trying to get Akila to focus on something else aside from the institute.

Akila was getting angrier even thinking about it, so it was almost a blessing when Andy asked her question, switching topics. The brunette breathed out slowly, her mind slowly moving off those memories to the idea of ice cream. She closed her eyes, letting out another breath before opening them, calmer and somehow her eyes had grown duller, the glow not as bright.

"I can do ice cream," she nodded, "Hold your hands out, and tell me your favorite flavor."

Kaige smiled, happy Akila was willing to do this. Her eyes were still beautiful, but the intense glow wasn’t as strong as before. She breathed a sigh of relief, glad Akila seemed to be calming down. “Chocolate. Me and mom would just sit with a container and spoons when dad was sleeping. It was our little treat.” She stretched her hands, not afraid of Akila in the slightest. It wasn’t a matter of posturing in front of her either. Kaige felt at ease with her. Akila had taken a hit for her. She didn’t have to, and the more she thought about it, the more she knew she was going to correct that wrong.

"Chocolate," Akila repeated, calming more as she focused on her wish, granting herself chocolate in Kaige's hands. She had never had anyone else wish around her, and for that matter if anyone had it probably wouldn't work. Only her own wishes seemed to come true. If only I could wish myself and everyone here freedom. But I can't manipulate people...

Chocolate ice cream appeared, piled high in a cold bowl in Kaige's hands, with two spoons sticking out the top. Akila grinned, finally smiling as she saw the delicious treat.

"Would you believe I haven't tried this in forever?" she admitted sheepishly, "When I first found out I could do this I shied away from it. Once I accepted it, I never treated myself. I always...always kept it small. A piece of fruit here, and pad of paper there. This is the first night I've made a whole meal. And...and I feel good about it."
