[Ancestral Steppes - Everwood Border]
The sonic bomb detonated with a shrieking loudness that -at such proximity- made Kaze' ears ring, rendering him momentarily deaf as the Kecha girl stumbled backwards, soundlessly shouting in pain as she raised her hands to her ears, as though she could somehow sooth the pain by covering them. In the moment where she reeled and stumbled, Kaze had his opportunity, and the arrow caught the Kecha girl in the stomach, sending her stumbling to tumble onto her ass.
The second arrow caught her in the shoulder, and she cried out then, barely audible as Kaze' hearing was only just beginning to return, but unmistakeably a pained sound as the force of it twisted her about mid-rise and landed her on her side, panting for breath, red blood seeping from her wounds as she weakly struggled to rise. She wasn't going anywhere for the moment...
[Ancestral Steppes - Step Cliffs]
The Seltas was caught off guard by the sudden aggression, and gave a chittering screech as Sonya's blade sought a weak point in it's carapace, nearly severing one of its legs at the joint with a vicious thrust. The Insectoid monster shook and backwinged as the huntress pursued it, nearly tearing it's own limb off in the process as it tried to gain distance, slashing wildly with it's forelimbs in an attempt to keep her at bay.
As soon as it had a bit of distance though, the Seltas juked to Sonya's right and attacked again, coming at her with a spin that feinted a frontal charge but in actuality aimed to strike her with the weight of the Seltas' body from the side rather than the pointed tip of its horn! One leg missing or not, the monster was clearly determined to defend it's territory!
[Everwood]
Alistair moved slowly along the cliff face as below the Genprey milled and meandered below, most of them seemingly content to wander without looking up to spot him. He crept quietly, making little sound, pacing over the valley below until...
A loud screech echoed from the north-east, and the entire camp turned as one, with many of the sunning pack even raising their heads to look in the direction of the scream. The Gendrome must not have been in the valley at all but out hunting, since Alistair was sure that carrying sound could only have come from one of the hulking pack-leaders!
The screech came again, and Genprey began to emerge from the caves below, hurrying towards the northeastern end of the valley. Miraculously, none of them seem to be spotting Alistair just yet but the entire pack is out and active all of a sudden, and the way they're moving cuts him off from getting to the other side... He could wait until they turn back, but then he'll be at an even higher risk of being seen since they won't have to look far out of their normal range to spot him, or he could climb down and attempt to sneak behind the pack, though then the 'Drome might see him coming from the other direction...
Risks either way, the valley directly below him was clear for the most part but he'd be moving completely in the open, while the cliffs were more sheltered but right in the line of sight once the pack began to move back towards the caves...
[The Port City of Val Habar]
The man gave him an incredulous look, and his eyes shifted, glancing over Dust's shoulder for a brief moment, before shaking his head silently and reaffixing his gaze. "Ye drink yerself stupid or summat? Yer a hunter, git t'th'hunter's guild for work, or go suck up to a couple nobles if yer lackin in fiber of the moral variety. What made ye think I would have any work for ye?" The bartender took the money, examined it briefly, then pulled out some sort of clay tablet from under the counter and consulted it briefly before handing him back a few coins. "Yer change."
"Hunter's guild's out the door, jes' east and north, look for th'big-arse gong on top, y'can't miss it."
