Never Safe (randomname98766789 and Galaxie)

Something about this scene put Adrian off - besides the obvious. She couldn't pinpoint just what it was, but it was there and left her slightly unnerved. She moved from right close to Tara's side to slightly in front, putting her body subtly while hose who were armed moved in and shot the walker down. After a moment her shoulders relaxed, but she didn't leave her guarding position. They had got out alive, and she had thought she would be good, but she was obviously still on edge.

"You said you had a church?" Michonne's voice entered the talk, and then there seemed to be group consensus to follow this man to his church. Beth liked the thought - it was temporary, but it would be somewhere to stay. Adrian was still antsy at the thought though.

He talked, the minister. It was like he was tying to break the ice and clear the air, but all that came out was a ramble that made the group more uncomfortable with each sentence. Members of my flock had often told me that my sense of humor leaves much to be desired," he ended with, and then the church was in sight. Rick stopped Gabriel outside of it, and the armed parts of the group entered to examine the place and some others went around back. They looked through all the rooms, guns aimed, before heading out to tell everyone that it was okay after several agonizingly slow minutes.

"I spent months here without stepping out the front door. If you found someone inside, well, it would have been surprising," Gabriel said as Rick exited through the double doors and back on to the porch.

"Thanks for this," Carl said from beside him with Judith in arms.

"We found a short bus out back. It don't run, but I bet we could fix that in less than a day or two. Father here says he doesn't want it. Looks like we found ourselves some transport." Abraham was the next to speak, talking to Rick more than anything. To him it was an important find - transportation. He knew that the others might not be as open to his plan, though.

They then filed in to the dimly lit church, and a talk began about gathering food. There was a food bank in the nearby town that would provide them with potentially quite a bit of food provided that they would take it over. There were around a dozen walkers that would need to be taken out, and they started talking about forming a team to get in there. Beth glanced over to Jack, knowing that it would probably be best if he was on the team to go out. He wouldn't want her to go, though, and even more than that he probably wouldn't want to leave her back here.

Finally, the entire group came to an agreement that splitting up was a good idea. Of course Jack would be heading out with the group that went to the food bank. While everyone was doing their own thing and getting ready, Jack took Beth by the hand. “Stay here, okay? You can help look over Judith and the others.” It wasn’t that Jack felt Beth was unable to handle herself, he knew better than that. It was the fact that Beth wasn’t nearly as trained as some of the others were. Jack wanted her at the safest place possible because he loved her and because it just made sense. He’d still been teaching her all along the way but going to a food bank with dozens of walkers and close corners was something that even the most trained member may struggle with. It would be dangerous.

Rick has a talk with Carl about helping Tyreese keep this place safe and watch over Judith. Not everyone was needed to go out on this exploration trip so Rick just needed a few people. He made Gabriel go with him. Bob, Sasha, Michonne, and Jack were the others to accompany him. The rest of the group could stay at the church and even check out that short bus Abraham saw out back. It also helped to have some of the group’s good shots back to defend like Daryl and Glenn. Once it was all set up, they were off from the church. As always, Jack gave Beth a quick peck goodbye.

Tara was hanging around Adrian at this point and everything was kind of quiet now with small murmurings amongst the group. “What is your read on this preacher?” Tara asked curiously, crossing her arms. She had never been a fan of religion obviously but she wasn’t the type of person to judge based off a religious view. She thought that Gabriel did seem like a good man so far. He was very open to them and it didn’t even seem like he could hurt a fly but she understood how Rick might still be wary.

All in all, Tara thought this was a good sign. Maggie then approached the two women, asking if they wanted to help her and Glenn loot a gun store. Carol and Daryl were out looking for water. Basically, everyone was on their own separate mission now with a few people staying back to help Tyreese look over Judith and the church. Tara nodded to Maggie, agreeing to go. She hoped that Adrian would too because it was more time they could have together. Although she wanted them to have alone time, this was still better than nothing and she was satisfied. She could keep an eye on her to make sure nothing bad happened.

As much as Beth didn't want to stay behind, she knew that it was the right choice. She was good, but she wasn't that good, and they needed people who knew what they were doing right now. She stuck close by Jack for a while, casually joining in to the group conversation here and there until everyone broke in to their groups and prepared to head off. The bus would take everyone to the town, minus the small group that was staying back with Judith. At that point she grabbed Jack by the wrist and pulled herself close to him. Their torsos were flush with the other's, and then her nimble fingers were pressed to his sides.

"You be safe," she said, her words hardly more than a whisper. She smiled and kissed him, a soft and gentle peck that showed promise that their next kiss when he returned would be even better. "No being reckless; I know you'll want to be the one to save the day if anything goes wrong but just be careful."

"I... don't know." Adrian shrugged, pausing to ponder a moment. She'd been on edge at first, too worried about the fact that there was another new person around. She wasn't particularily fond of Gabriel, but she also didn't know anything about him. Trust could be deadly in these days, after all. "I think he's okay, but I'm still going to keep an eye on him. We've had enough people abuse our trust recently." She would give it time, wait things out and see how they went. Worst case she was already prepared for when shit hit the fan, best case they had someone else on their side.

Then Maggie came over, asked about joining her and Glenn to loot a gun store. Tara immediately agreed and, with a desire to stay close to her newfound flame, Adrian nodded quickly after. "That sounds like a really good idea; we need more weapons if we're going to feel safe again, and more ammo too."

Tara remained rather quiet on the ride into town. Staying close to Adrian was helping ease her nerves and feel more optimistic. She hoped to find plenty of weapons and ammo in the store. However, everyone seemed to agree that those chances are marginal but regardless they arrived soon and scouted out the store. After taking a good look around, the only thing the group could gather was three silencers in a mini-fridge.

“This was so useless.” Tara huffed, leaning against the wall and looking to Adrian. “We really need to find some more weapons though. What we have isn’t near good enough.” She mused, determined to find something else, squatting down to look through some of the rubble, her plump ass now raised in the air in front of Adrian in an accidentally alluring pose.

Jack arrived with the group at what Gabriel says was a food bank that served the whole county. They draw their weapons and go inside cautiously. There’s a huge hole in the floor. It leads to a basement filled with water and stinky, decayed walkers. They climb down the shelves and Rick forces a terrified Gabriel to go with them. Inside, the water is up to their waists. Gabriel sees a walker that looks like a church lady with big glasses and panics. He tries to get up the stairs but they break. The others push down the shelves and fight their way through the walkers to save Gabriel. Jack is able to fight through quickly and send his knife through the church lady’s head before it could get to the minister and then he lifted him up.

Jack just gave him a death stare because he put everyone in danger just then and turned his back to walk away. Beth’s words bounced in his mine though and that’s why Jack did try to save Gabriel but he wasn’t about to risk his life for this man. It ended up alright anyways. Finally, the group loads up huge carts with lots of food and are leaving, headed back to the church to meet up with everyone.

"Maybe we should check the houses nearby?" Adrian knew that chances were slim, but Tara was right - they needed more than a few silencers. Something had to have an un-cracked safe or locked cupboard or something - they deserved the luck right then. They needed it, because there were not enough weapons saved in that bag to safely arm their recovering group. She was about to speak again when Tara leaned over, and she was left wide-eyed and slacked jawed for a moment before she recovered enough to actually speak. Yep, she was very, very gay because all it took was just the right stance for any sense of productivity to immediately go out the roof for a moment, and quite honestly she hoped that neither Glenn nor Maggie had been paying attention in that moment because Adrian was weak and in all the right ways. Fuck. What was she going to say again? Right - checking out houses.

"Go in pairs, see if anything near by has anything left?" She suggested, knowing full well that pairs would put Glenn and Maggie together, leaving her and Tara together as well.

Back at the church, tensions were high - not between the people in the walls, but due to the fact that they were alone in a strange place and the majority of their strongest people were gone. Everyone would be more comfortable when they had a source of food and more weapons and ammunition. Tyreese could be trusted to ensure the safety of the kids, though, and Beth was casually pacing back and forth with Judith in her arms, bouncing the babbling baby as they waited for everyone to return. She held Judith in an attempt to keep her mind off of Jack, and the fear that grew within her with every minute that passed. She knew that they were strong, skilled people and that everyone would be okay (or at least she really hoped so), but that changed nothing.

Glenn, Maggie, and Tara all agreed that splitting up into pairs and searching nearby houses was the best idea. As expected, Maggie was with Glenn and Tara was with Adrian. One pair went left and one pair went right, agreeing to meet back at this gun shop before sunset which was in about two or three hours. The first few houses that Tara and Adrian found were worthless. They didn’t have any weapons at all so to break the silence, Tara got a grin on her face. “Did you like my ass, Adrian? I saw you staring at it.” She spoke, a grin growing onto her face, turning with a wink.

A system was in place for when they entered a house to check and see if it was safe. On one of the last houses, it all seemed clear but Tara ended up hearing something. “Adrian!” She squealed in horror as a walker walked up behind her and grabbed her. However she was there to quickly stab the knife through it’s rotten head to save Adrian. She fell and the dead walker fell on top of her, the blood getting all over her shirt. “Ah shit…” She grumbled, wrenching the knife from its head.

Thankfully, the food bank mission went much better than the mission to find weapons. When they returned to the church, everyone helped bring in the food. There was a large supply and it could definitely feed and supply this group easily. It was getting close to sundown now and Jack was passing by when Rick and Carl were looking at some words scratched in outside the church, saying that “You Will Burn For This”. That couldn’t have been promising and that put Jack on edge watching the priest. They ended up storing the food in some old, empty storage closet with some bottled waters inside as well. The future went from total shit to quite promising now. When everyone got all settled in, Jack walked outside to the pews to check on Beth and see how she was coming along back at the church.

Adrian deadpanned at Tara's quip and her face flushed red, a burning flame that shot up her cheeks. She obviously wasn't subtle at all - though that came as no surprise. She'd never been very good at subtlely, though that didn't stop her from trying - and hey, it had pretty much been made clear that advances were welcome... right? Yeah. Tara was just screwing with her. "Life is short, may as well appreciate what's in front of me while I can." The embarrassed blush faded in to a grin, and they continued their searching until they reached one of the last houses they would hit tonight.

She hadn't been paying as much attention as she need to be when suddenly a low moan could be heard rumbling behind her. There was a hand grabbing at her shoulder, and quicker than Adrian could turn around, Tara had buried a knife in to the walker's skull and then Adrian was being pulled down to the floor by the hand of said walker along with Tara.

"Fuck." She stared at the creature with wide eyes for a split second before she scrambled to push it away from them. Her hands were quickly on Tara's shoulder, looking her over to make sure she was okay. "I didn't see it, I-" Her words were racing together and she cut herself off when grasped Tara's face, thumbs against cheekbones, and kissed her. One near death experience should be the maximum for one day, but apparently Adrian liked to push her limits.

Relief was the word that best described how Beth felt when the familiar rumble of vehicles pulling up signalled the return of those who were on the food run, and she walked on to the porch of the small church with Judith in hand as soon as she heard it. Breaks cut and the rumble of an engine quit, and Beth handled Judith from the stairs while she waited for everything to get sorted - as soon as she saw Jack alive and well, and seemingly 100% unharmed, she had it in her to be patient. They'd struck the jackpot it looked like, and Beth was hopefully that her sister and the others who were out searching for weapons would prove to be just as successful.

When the last of the stuff was being loaded in to the storage room, Beth had made up a bottle from some formula that the group had gotten back, and was sitting with Judith in the crook of one of her arms, bottle in mouth. There was a content smile and love in her eyes - she'd always been good with kids, and though being around Judith was bittersweet (she couldn't imagine ever having a baby of her own any more, despite the fact that not too long ago she'd imagined such a life iwth her love) she still loved every moment she spent with the tiny human. She glanced up as the sound of familiar footsteps grew louder, and the smile on her eyes widened.

"Everything went good I see?" She asked him in a soft tone, adjusting the bottle in her hand for Judith.

Thankfully, Tara and Adrian were able to fend off the walker without being bitten or scratched. The worst part about all of this was the walker blood splattered on both of their clothing but that mattered little now. It definitely was a near death experience even though they shouldn’t have been due for another one since they just escaped Terminus but apparently that didn’t matter to the walkers. Tara was wondering why the woman was apologizing but before she could say anything else, she felt Adrian’s lips on hers and that made her smile. All thoughts just went right out her mind and she made out with Adrian as passionately as she could. Her hands went to her waist and held her tight while they kissed, pressing close to her.

They had been gone for a while so Glenn and Maggie had been worried. In the midst of the make out session, a quiet male voice sounded. “Guys?” It was Glenn and Tara noticed it, slowly pulling away from Adrian and blushing. She felt like a young teenage girl getting caught by her father after making out. Maggie simply sent both of them a little smirk wanting to leave the couple to their fun time but the group was expecting them back. “It’s getting dark out and we couldn’t find you. We’ll have to check back later for some weapons. We couldn’t find anything.” Glenn spoke and shrugged, quickly moving away with Maggie.

Tara blushed and had a small smile on her face looking at Adrian. “They are correct. We need to leave and get back to the church but… I am hoping we can continue.” She said, biting on her lower lip and walking out of the house ahead of her, keeping their hands together while they walked this time.

“Yes, everything went great! We found so much food and we even found baby food. I think we hit the jackpot.” Jack exclaimed, wrapping his arms around the blonde’s waist, tilting his head to the side and kissing her slowly and pressed his tongue into her mouth. After the kiss was finished, Jack slowly removed his mouth from hers, smiling at her happily. “I love you baby.” He cooed and nuzzled their noses together while keeping their eyes locked together. It was getting later in the evening now and finally Maggie, Glenn, Tara, and Adrian arrived back. Everyone was eager to see if they had been as successful with the weapons as the group was with the food but sadly it wasn’t to be. A few silencers, pistols, and knives but that was it.

As time passed, a few people were suggesting they have a little cheerful celebration with wine and food. At first it was only a few to agree but soon everyone was on board. Tara was now standing there with Adrian when listening this and got a little thought. “I wonder how you act when you’re buzzed…” Tara murmured quietly and giggled sweetly, looking over to Adrian. “I’m in for this celebration? Are you?”

Meanwhile Jack was busy helping Rick and Glenn with organizing the food when Abraham went to get them for the celebration. They brought out wine glasses for everyone to drink from and have fun. They escaped with their lives from Terminus, they had food, they had a place to say and things were definitely much better than they were before. Jack poured himself a glass of the wine and took one over to Beth, standing with her. “Care if I buy you a drink?” He teased.

Adrian was content melting in to Tara, kissing her like she was both the first and last person her lips would ever touch and taking in the taste of Tara's tongue. She cared more about Tara's lip in the gentle tug of her teeth and the way her hand grasped at Tara's hip than anything else and she let herself get lost in it, because she didn't know when she would next get the chance to. Had Tara not pulled away, she probably wouldn't have even noticed Glenn and Maggie for a while longer. She sat up with her legs bent under her and nodded - they were right, it was time to get home, but it left Adrian wondering when they would next get a chance to be alone.

"It can definitely continue," she said as they walked back.

Beth handed Judith of to Tyreese just before Jack's hands snaked around her waist, and she leaned in to his touch. Lips met and parted, giving way to his tongue meeting hers inside of her mouth. She grasped at his shirt, hands clenching in to tight fists around the fabric, and even after the kiss was over she held on. There was really nothing but love in her eyes - she had a feeling that the weapons run went as good as the food one. It had to have... And then she was mildly disappointed when the other four returned, with hardly anything to show for their hours of searching.

Everyone moved forwards, though. They ate and some of them started drinking, though Beth stayed on the outside ot that circle until Jack approached her. She'd never been much a drinker - never drank much at all actually, besides a couple sips here and there.

"I'd be honoured if someone as handsome as yourself would buy me a drink," she returned, the corners of her lips turning up as she reached out to take one of the wine glasses from him. "If you think you'll get to take me home at the end of the night for this though, boy." Her voice cut off purposely and their eyes locked, but any trace of seriousness quickly vanished as she laughed and pecked her lover's cheek.

"I guess you'll get to find out," Adrian joked, nodding to say that she was down to drink with every body. The last time she'd alcohol was... God, probably the previous summer when the outbreak was new. It was just her and Nick at the time and being the idiots they were sometimes, they'd held up in some abandoned house and found two bottles of wine. Adrian would say those were the good days of the apocalypse, but Adrian distinctly remembered crying that night. She wasn't usually a crier, and couldn't remember why she was that night any more - probably about Jaspen, but maybe not. She couldn't even remember when exactly she'd lost Jay any more, how many months it had been since, how long they survived together beforehand. She was just another casualty of the world they lived in now. That definitely was not what was on Adrian's mind right then, though.

No, what was on her mind was the fact that the booze was on the other side of the room but Tara was over here, and she honestly didn't want to leave Tara's side to go get a couple glasses. She did, though, turning her head when half way there to steal another glance at the amazing woman she'd met. She grabbed two glasses and filled them a little on the full side before turning back. She offered one of the glasses to Tara. "I'm kind of curious about what you're like when you're buzzed," Adrian said back to her and a flirty smile formed on her lips. This would be a good night, hopefully - there was a hint of a promise that Adrian wanted to make good on, after all.

The cheerful celebration continued with Abraham proposing a toast to them, denoting them as the “survivors”. He also used the chance to take the floor and make his pitch to Washington D.C. He had the utmost confidence in what Eugene promised them as far as a cure went. Rick was very on board with this idea and so was everyone else. It was the only length of hope they had anymore. Sure, it sounded crazy. An end to the walker plague? That couldn’t be true but if Eugene claimed he could make a cure, they believed him. He was credible and it just might be real… but of course, it could just be another mirage.

A few other things were going on within the celebration. Bob was sneaking out and Carol and Daryl were outside having a conversation but for the most part, everyone was inside. It was continuing and everyone had smiles on their faces. All the couples were in their own little world while they drank. One’s thing for sure though. All this wine meant there might be some hot, heated experiences between some of the members tonight and that was definitely looking to be true.

Tara giggled at what Adrian said before sipping on the wine. “I think that’s a challenge. Is it?” She cooed and leaned against Adrian’s body. A grin was on her face while she stood next to her and just kept their bodies close. This was a challenge she was willing to take. She wondered how much she could get Adrian to drink and how much she could get herself to drink. It had been a long time since she was able to drink anything either. In fact, she didn’t even drink until her last girlfriend was faking the entire time and wasn’t even lesbian. She knew that people were drinking alcohol to drink away the pain and that’s what she did. The buzzed feeling she got was crazy and she did admit that she was feeling a little extra horny.

“Maybe we can find a private place in here, ya know? And… try some stuff?” She shrugged and even though she hadn’t much wine yet, she just felt like her senses were heightened already. She was fumbling with her words right now and blushing a deep shade of red. She knew what she wanted to do but she was afraid to ask or make any movements. She hoped her few words was enough to lead her on though. She needed to get started somehow but wasn’t quite sure what to do.

Jack smirked down at Beth while sipping on his drink. He knew she didn’t drink very much or very often but this was a good reason to celebrate. Because, the times she had taken a drink, Jack was there with her and a tipsy Beth was a very sexy Beth indeed. He reached to her jeans and tugged at her belt, pulling her over to one of the smaller rooms away from everyone else. When they were alone, he reached his hand down and slipped it inside of her pants, slowly sipping on the wine in his hand. “Everyone is in a celebrating mood… including me. I think I know the best way to celebrate. Care to join me?” He whispered deviously, reaching down and undoing her belt, letting it clatter to the floor. He didn’t know how far this would get but he was more than eager to find out.

Jack set his glass down and turned his full attention to Beth. Smiling at her, he started to kiss her lips before pulling back, taking his hand on her glass and making her drink more of it. Jack planned on getting Beth drunk. “Besides, even if you don’t want to go home with me I’m taking you anyways. I did buy your drink.” He flirted with a wink, kissing her neck now in heated, passionate touches with his mouth.

"Do you want it to be?" When Tara leaned in, Adrian's hand slipped on to the curve of Tara's waist. The other held her wine just inches from her face in, and she sipped at the partially full glass, swallowed, and offered the woman in front of her a nod. She then grinned and crossed the distance between them to kiss her - soft but needy, and tinged with the slightest taste of red wine on both of their lips.

She didn't need to be drunk to want to be alone with Tara, and she didn't need to be drunk to understand the innuendo in Tara's awkward wording. She'd never been too bothered by being intimate with people - if she liked the thought, she didn't care if she'd known someone an hour or a year. Since she'd been given the chance to properly admire the woman, she was finding herself more and more entranced by every inch of Tara, both mentally and physically.

She split her gaze from Tara for a moment, searching for a place where they could go. She looked just in time to see Jack and Beth wander in to one of the rooms at the back of the church. Looking back to Tara, she arched her brow and then glanced over to the other room, hoping Tara would understand that she was suggesting they wander that way.

Beth finished her glass quickly and filled it up again before she was lead off. She walked hand in hand with Jack with a giddy grin on her face - she was blissfully happy with moving away from the crowd and forgetting they existed for a little while. She closed the door behind her, and looked at him with lusty, dilated eyes as he pulled her belt from her body. Her free hand found the waist of his pants and her thumb flicked the button out of its place.

Her fingertips dipped inside his pants, just over the edge of the fabric, and she leaned just slightly to the side in order to put her glass down. She was stopped, though, within seconds as he took her glass from her fingers and brought it to her lips. They parted, allowing the sweet liquid to flow in to her mouth, and she smiled at him as she swallowed.

"Oh really now?" Her words turned in to a low moan as his lips found her neck, and she grasped at his hips.

Judging by how Adrian touched and kissed Tara, the brunette woman figured she was on board with her suggestion and idea. After the kiss, Tara licked her lips with the taste of Adrian and the red wine still lingering on her lips. When she watched Adrian’s eyes flicker over to where the young boy and girl had walked off, Tara definitely picked up on the hint and shot her a smirk. She sat both of their wine glasses down onto the table and took Adrian by the hand. Eager was not a sufficient word to describe how Tara felt. She had this need growing inside her core, desiring to be with Adrian. She felt like if they were able to become intimate, then all the other bad experiences of her past wouldn’t even matter. She could get over everything and just focus on Adrian.

They went to the first empty room and slipped inside before locking the door. Tara shivered slightly with her mind running wild. A light blush dusted her cheeks as her hands went to Adrian’s waist again, slowly massaging up and down her hips, reaching under her shirt. “So…” She began. “What do you want to do?” She whispered, her eyes barely meeting Adrian’s. Tara wasn’t very experienced at all and she was worried about messing up. She hoped Adrian would show her what she wanted and she could follow along.

As of now, Jack was pleased with the amount of wine Beth had consumed. Both empty glasses were now set to the side and the real fun was beginning. Jack was soon void of his jeans and then his shirt followed, leaving him only in a pair of navy blue boxers. Feeling that this was a little uneven, his hands slipped under Beth’s shirt and started tugging until he could pull it over her head and then he worked on her jeans, too.

He wasted no time whatsoever and soon they were both only wearing their underwear. Leaning down, he kissed her hard on the lips and cupped her cheeks, his body rubbing against hers. His hands gripped her ass tightly and squeezed her flesh, pressing her body close against his. “I love you so much baby.” He murmured, his eyes looking around the room before just deciding to grab the young blonde woman and push her up against the wall. His breathing was becoming heavy and he nuzzled his nose against hers, slowly licking her lips with his tongue. Slowly, he pulled back and looked down into the backpack he was able to recover. It just happened to be the backpack with a few of their toys. Jack pulled out a shiny pair of handcuffs and winked at Beth. “I’m glad we got this stuff back.” He said with a smirk, running the cold metal cuffs down her chest.
