Something about this scene put Adrian off - besides the obvious. She couldn't pinpoint just what it was, but it was there and left her slightly unnerved. She moved from right close to Tara's side to slightly in front, putting her body subtly while hose who were armed moved in and shot the walker down. After a moment her shoulders relaxed, but she didn't leave her guarding position. They had got out alive, and she had thought she would be good, but she was obviously still on edge.
"You said you had a church?" Michonne's voice entered the talk, and then there seemed to be group consensus to follow this man to his church. Beth liked the thought - it was temporary, but it would be somewhere to stay. Adrian was still antsy at the thought though.
He talked, the minister. It was like he was tying to break the ice and clear the air, but all that came out was a ramble that made the group more uncomfortable with each sentence. Members of my flock had often told me that my sense of humor leaves much to be desired," he ended with, and then the church was in sight. Rick stopped Gabriel outside of it, and the armed parts of the group entered to examine the place and some others went around back. They looked through all the rooms, guns aimed, before heading out to tell everyone that it was okay after several agonizingly slow minutes.
"I spent months here without stepping out the front door. If you found someone inside, well, it would have been surprising," Gabriel said as Rick exited through the double doors and back on to the porch.
"Thanks for this," Carl said from beside him with Judith in arms.
"We found a short bus out back. It don't run, but I bet we could fix that in less than a day or two. Father here says he doesn't want it. Looks like we found ourselves some transport." Abraham was the next to speak, talking to Rick more than anything. To him it was an important find - transportation. He knew that the others might not be as open to his plan, though.
They then filed in to the dimly lit church, and a talk began about gathering food. There was a food bank in the nearby town that would provide them with potentially quite a bit of food provided that they would take it over. There were around a dozen walkers that would need to be taken out, and they started talking about forming a team to get in there. Beth glanced over to Jack, knowing that it would probably be best if he was on the team to go out. He wouldn't want her to go, though, and even more than that he probably wouldn't want to leave her back here.
