Samantha dabbed a napkin at her lips, taking another sip of Ezra's drink, clearing her mouth of any food that remained. Samantha noted the change in Ezra's behaviour, a tense vibe in his usually relaxed nature.
"Is everything al-"
"Samantha!"
"Hey Anna" Samantha smiled at her cousin, raising from her seat to hug the girl. "What are you doing here?" Samantha had not been too fond of the girl, but she maintained a friendly attitude for family sake.
"I'm here with mom and dad" She pointed to the table on other end where Henry Beckett sat, staring intently at Ezra.
Samantha waved with a slight smile, noting the disgusted looks Anna gave Ezra, no doubt of her father's influence. She knew they hated him, and secretly hated her. Despite it all public appearance mattered, and the Beckett's pretended to be a United front for all to see. When in reality her uncle Henry was as racist as a the Klu Klux Klan were violent.
"What are you doing here?" Anna asked, glancing down at their table.
Samantha tried hard to roll her eyes in obvious annoyance, instead, like her wonderful mother, she smiled sweetly. "I'm having a bite with my boyfriend....you know Ezra from school don't you? Star linebacker"
Anna nodded curtly "Yeah....I'll see you around"
"Enjoy the rest of your meal, and tell your parents Ezra and I send our love"
Anna Beckett smiled slightly, waving at Samantha before heading back to her table. The blonde returned to her seat, taking a large swig of the drink sitting in front of Ezra. Her sheer annoyance now showing "I hate her..." And she had every reason too. After overhearing Anna talking about her in the girls bathroom at school, Samantha Beckett never looked at her cousin the same again. She told no one of what was said, and acted like she had not heard a word. Being popular and pretty had its pros and cons, and Samantha learned to thicken her shoulders and not care what anyone had to say. Yes she cried, felt insecure and binge ate feeling sorry for herself at times. Still, she was Samantha Beckett, and she continued walking down the halls of Wilmington High, dressed fabulously with her head held high.
Henry hated the sight before him, he'd heard about the couple but had never seen them with his own two eyes. Disgust, the only emotion he could feel. Just like her mother. The way she smiled at him, stealing his fries, acting like his whore. It gave Henry the motivation to finish what he started seventeen years ago. He would do the family name a good favour, by getting rid of its so-called princess.
Samantha sighed, biting her lip "I've lost my appetite....let's just take your food and leave...please" She grabbed her bag, heading right for the car.
