Milly waved back, happy for the time she'd stayed with the hive but still thankful to be going home. It had felt like a vacation almost, when it was supposed to have been something of a job. She went home first, dropping her things off, changing into new clothes and taking a moment just to herself before she went to the village and spoke to the town council and mayor that she and the bees had reached an agreement and that this year their harvest would be bountiful. They asked her questions some of which she answered and others which she couldn't or...simply wouldn't. They thanked her generously and paid her, despite her protests, and sent her back to her little cottage outside of town laden with supplies that would last her months. Things settled, and eventually crops were seeded and began to grow. The farmer's were ecstatic, their crops had never before looked so productive! Milly was happy to have done something to help with that.
Then, word reached them from a nearby village. A large pack of wolves had been seen nearby. And not the normal kind either, no, these were magical wolves. Intelligent and capable of deception. The townspeople began to fret and Milly went to speak to the council again to discuss their options. There were people they could turn to for help of course, although no one had had much luck before, or they could try and reason with the wolves. Either way, all eyes turned to Milly...who sighed...and went home to pack a few things. Whatever she eventually settled on she'd be headed into the woods.
