Ashley had that feeling that most people who had ever wanted to hide something could probably relate to. Not the guilt. No, she felt as if he already knew. As if he had called her just to see if she would say something. Of course he had no idea, there was no way he would have found out. The only two witnesses were the wrongdoers, but there was no way to avoid that goddamn feeling. She wondered how she was supposed to look him in the eyes without feeling bad, not to mention how the hell she would bring herself to kiss him the next time they met. With her thoughts deeply focused around those questions, she never noticed the door opening, nor did she hear him approach her.
All of a sudden Gaius was there, and she winced, letting out a small noise in surprise. "You sure you're okay?" the voice in the other end of the line asked, and she quickly reacted. "No, I'm good, but... what are you doing?" The question was obviously directed towards Gaius, and the way she turned her head and looked at him translated more to a what the hell are you doing, while she silently mouthed 'it's Philip'. Clearly flustered with her cheeks turning a soft pink, she gently pushed his hand away and turned her gaze out through the window again, suddenly realizing she hadn't listened for an answer. "Err... what did you say? I got a little distracted..." she explained, pushing her body back against Gaius' much taller frame as a silent way of advising him to leave again.
