Blondie had been able to hold up for the long swim every so often having to stop and catch her breath before starting once more. Her leg got caught in the weeds at one point, but she had yanked free after several minutes. Once the swim was over she was glad though on first trying to get out she fell on her butt due to her legs shaking. Her lips had turned bluish and her skin pail though she said she did not feel cold.

Looking around the shore she tried to think of the best path to take. Mentally she was doing circles in her own brain not realizing how tired she was or the fact she was getting sick from yesterday's events. Between the cold water, getting soaked sleeping outside and on top of it all having been running around on almost no food or sleep she was starting to pay for it.

Standing up slowly she went to get her stuff off the raft so she could get dressed and at least be partly warmer.

Unfortunately their rest was short-lived. Almost before the women were done dressing a rustling was heard nearby, and the branches moved aside to reveal a small hoard of eight Walkers. They were shuffling forward, their noses drawing them to the group, and once they were within sight it seemed like their shuffling increased in pace.

Dr. Beauman had been standing near that part of the forest about to relieve himself again when the undead appeared. He let out a shrill cry of surprise and scuttled back to the group like a rabbit fleeing from a fox. Eliza quickly unshouldered her bow and reached for an arrow, but her quiver only held a handful of them and there were several handfuls of Walkers to deal with.

If that wasn't bad enough, a Walker emerged from the water. It's hair hung in front of it's face, it's eyes glaring in dead paleness as it stepped up on the bank. Behind it the water rippled, and then the head of another Walker appeared.

They had walked across the lake.

Blondie froze having her pants half way up when they showed from the forest. Getting to the raft she opened her bag getting the knife out and looking at the others she also took the gun out just in case." We need to go." She said to the others quietly. Backing up she tried keeping an eye on both groups of Walkers. This was not a good thing for sure if any of these Walkers could run they were not yet and that might have meant they could not. So if the group ram for it they might have a chance of getting away.

The crossing was a blur to Logan. He saw the walkers and that familiar smile crept across his face. Then he looked at Blondie pulling her pants up and thought what a waste. Knife in hand he backed up slow trying to keep himself in front of the othets.

"They can smell us, but smell drifts and lingers. We can see them, that's better. How far to this store? If need be get some mud and smear it on yourself to block your scent and chance of swesting."

Blondie had only enough time to barely tell Logan where she thought the store was when the surge of Walkers seemed to multiply out of the waters. In a blur of chaos and desperation the group was split in two, then they lost track of each other. It was anyone's guess if they would ever reconnect, or if they did, if one of the groups would have been converted to the undead before they met again.

Logan, Naomi, Adelle and Dr. Beauman
One group was cut off from the others too quickly to rejoin them. Dr. Beauman yelled in desperate panic and began to beat some of them off with a cane. He didn't carry a weapon; he didn't believe in them, but the didn't want to be part of the breakfast menu either. "Logan! Help! Naomi!" He was wide-eyed, looking for a break. The only way to get away seemed to be to run towards the dark forest. Leaving everything but his journal behind he began to run for his life.

Eliza and Blondie
On the other side of the hoard Eliza and Blondie were pushed south. Eliza only wasted two arrows taking out the Walkers before she realized it was fruitless. They had to move fast. There were simply too many. "We gotta go!"

She shouldered her bow and waved to Blondie to follow her, then started to run as quickly as she could through the brush and grass. Her booted feet sloshed with the river water and her legs were chaffing in her wet jeans, but there was no time for comfort. At one point she nearly slipped on new grass, but between their fear, the early hour, and the slow pace of the Walkers, it seemed like they might make some headway.

Please post who you are with on the top of your post in bold, so that we can keep everyone's interactions straight until the group is reunited. Hopefully that will be soon! Until then fell free to post back and forth within your group as quickly as you'd like. It's possible that the groups will be further divided. For instance, Logan and Naomi could get separated from Adelle and Dr. Beauman. This is to allow those who are posting more quickly to interact, and not have to wait for those who are not able to post as regularly.

Blondie

Stayed running with Eliza trying not to fall Blondie was swift luckily and the Walkers were slow. She was panting sone, but mostly because she was still cold and her hands were numb. She then paused looking around to figure out if they could get to town where it was easier to run and hide.

Cameron

Cam was checking sine small traps ge gad by the water when the sounds of running got his attention. Standing up he took his knife out waiting for whatever it was to come forward out of the trees.[/align]

Blondie, Cameron, and Eliza

The girls seemed to put some distance between themselves and the walkers, their frantic fear putting wings on their feet. Soon the only sound they heard, other than their own pants and steps, was the normal sounds of the forest. They were able to start walking instead of running.

Eliza could feel her heart beating hard in her chest as they walked. She thought of her father and felt the huge pang of guilt well up in her from having been separated. Was he still alive? Were the others helping him? Dear God... he couldn't protect himself! She began to shudder and brought a hand up to her mouth, covering it in the horror of possibly just leaving her father to his death. How could she have been so selfish? How could she leave him after all this? Did he hate her? Were his last moments terrifying?

"Oh my God... my father..." She felt her breath catch in her chest. "Oh God he's probably dead."

As she walked with Blondie she wasn't paying as much attention as she should have, and a moment later the girls stepped out from behind a small stand of shrubs and came face to face with a man holding a knife. They had found Cameron.

Cameron

Blinked at the girls when he saw them one was small, blond and looked younger than the taller girl. He kept hold of the knife, but lowered it "Names?" Blondie backed up clearly too scared to just speak to a man holding a huge knife. Cameron wondered if they even knew what he was saying. Some people had lost it over time being more animal like than human. These girls though looked clean and somewhat put together so they probably had some form of sanity left.

Blondie

Blondie froze when they came out to come face to face with the man. She backed up quickly clearly not wanting to confront the man. She even stepped behind Eliza some and hoped the man was not going to attack them. People responded to things so strangely these days that she did not know what to expect other than maybe she should stay ready to run.

Blondie, Cameron, and Eliza

"Ah," Eliza's mouth hung open as she stared momentarily at the man. Shit. If he had been a Walker I'd be dead. She felt the flush of cold realization rush through her at the sloppy way she had been moving through the forest. "I'm ah, I'm..." What the fuck was my name again? "Eliza! I'm Eliza Beauman, and this is Blondie. Uh, I forgot your real name," she said, turning slowly to the smaller woman. "I don't remember."

She was glad that he had lowered his knife, but he was still a stranger and they were all still in danger. "We were running from a large group of the Walkers down by the water. We got split up from our group..." she wasn't sure if she should tell him that or not. He didn't look crazy but neither did Jeffrey Dahmer. She could feel the small woman hiding behind her, as if she could overcome the strength of a man who looked as strong as this one did. "Who are you?"

What an immensely painful week, Rosalind thought to herself grimly as she lay flat on her stomach beneath a bush, clutching her knife as tight as she could in her trembling fist. In a way, she thought it was ironic that when the outbreak first began to spread, she told herself it couldn't possibly get any worse. Yet here she was with the feeling of slimy dirt pressed against her cheek and something cold oozing down her top and the icing on the cake, the hoarse moans growling above her.

Rosalind couldn't swim. Not well. Her only choice had been to hide and even then, it did not guarantee her safety. The only saving grace was that the Walkers appeared to have found another way to distract themselves. The blonde only had the hope that they would leave after their most recent hunt, and it was that hope that stopped her from completely breaking down. She inhaled softly, the mulchy soil and stink of corpses burning her eyes.

Well if worst came to worst, she could always stab herself first.

Cameron

Looking at the two and waiting for an answer he nodded once when Eliza told him her name. He then put the blade away for a minute saying to Eliza. "Call me Cam." He turned back to the trap opening it and resetting it carefully so it would not spring itself. He then stood up grabbing his back pack and heading up stream.

Blondie

Blondie watched the man go then looked at Eliza. "Should we fallow him?" She asked. Safety was in numbers and he looked like he was prepared for a fight it there was one to brake out.

Naomi Dr and Adelle ,

The Dr took off, Naomi was unresponsive following . Logan took off. In the dark forest he tried his best to keep them all together, but he had no idea if they had when they came to a clearing. Catching his breath, he realized he was alone. Maybe he out paced the others, it was also possible they or he got lost. Seemingly on his own now he drew his blade and wondered forwards into the woods unknown

.
.
Rosalind and Logan

As Logan moved forwards, the knife in his hand, he saw a pair of walkers pass a heavy stand of shrubs. From where he was standing he could see the creatures move away, their halting steps loud and clumsy. He could also see a glimpse of a person hiding in the shrubs. She was obviously hiding, and she, from the curve of her ass as she laid on her stomach, watching the undead creatures pass, and also from the trembling way she was holding the knife in her hand.

Rosalind's spot on the ground was cold and wet, the mud from the recent rains soaking through her clothing. The two walkers moved away and for a moment there was quiet. Then a soft 'snap' of a twig behind her sounded, and possibly drew her attention. If she were to chance looking behind her she might catch a glimpse of a tall, rugged man behind her.

Naomi, Adelle and Dr. Beauman

Somehow the three had gotten separated from Logan in the chaos. Dr. Beauman stayed near Adelle and Naomi, though he kept calling out for his daughter. Eventually he got winded and quieted down so he could save his breath for running. Finally it seemed as if the three were going to get a break when they found a small cabin-like structure ahead of them. "Let's run for it!" The old doctor was the slowest of them all, but with hope right in front of them his energy seemed to renew itself, and without waiting for agreement he started to run/hobble/hop towards the shelter.

Cameron, Blondie, and Eliza

Blondie asked if they should follow the stranger and Eliza shook her head. There was something about the guy that she didn't trust. "No. You can if you want, but I have to find my father. You're welcome to go with me or go with him." She glanced down at the smaller woman. The man was starting to put distance between them and Blondie would have to make her choice soon.

In the distance Eliza thought she could hear her father's voice. She nocked an arrow and then started to walk in the direction of the voice, her weapon ready but the string not drawn. She had loyalties that she had to worry about; this new guy was just 'off', and his cavalier demeanor had given her the impression that he might have been mentally affected by the outbreak and the horrors associated with it.

Slowly but with determination she began to walk, allowing Blondie to make her choice which person to follow or if she wanted to head out on her own.

Cameron
He watched the direction the girl headed in then called." I wouldn't go that way miss!" As if on quew a snap wad heard as one of his traps were doing and Eliza almost got herself hit with a log from a tree. He saud." There's over ten more like that if you don't know where to step and I rather have those Walkers set them off not you."
He returned to gutting the few small animals in the water sp the scent would get carried away from them down the river.

Blondie

Wanted to stay with Eliza she liked her and trusted her a lot more. Walking over she stayed next to the other girl, but looked jumpy as a Jack rabbit. Her eyes scanning the tree line for anything. She tried to listen as well, but the sound of her heart racing made that hard.

She sat against of back of the cave she stumbled upon. Obviously made recently as for its position up away from ground level making it nearly impossible for a bitter to get her. She watched and listened for what seemed like days. Periodically she'd hear branches breaking, and other curious sounds. "Was it animals, I am in the woods, another bitter? Someone to rescue me?" She thought in her head with every unknown sound. When Alas she heard what was unmistakeably someone or something walking. Slowly peering out and down from her borrowed refuge. Almost gasping out as she sees a man creeping around knife, or some other bladed weapon clenched in his hand. Startled she clumsily steps back her foot slipping causing debris to slide down alerting the presence of something to anyone in ear shot.

Cameron, Blondie, Eliza and Valerie

Eliza whirled around, her bow coming down from her shoulder and a bolt pulled neatly into place as she crouched in the weeds. She motioned for Blondie to stay behind her even as she eyed Cameron. Inclining her head towards the small hillside and the dark cavern above she waited to get his attention.

Wanna check it out? she mouthed at their new 'friend'. Her eyes followed the debris that had fallen through the brush. Something was up there. Whether it was a threat or now was the big question. Aside from the three of them there had been no sign of other people, and the woods seemed quiet. No shuffling, stumbling sounds of Walkers threatening them was audible.

Backing up to the furthest corner from the caverns mouth crouched down in the barely illuminated cave interior fighting her urges to scream out as she lay in wait her small bit of belonings gathered up neatly near by. "Fuck... What do I do?" She keeps asking herself over and over in her head as she waits pistol in the back of her waist band readied to pull and fire her survival knife clenched tightly in her off hand her thoughts rocketing through her mind playing any plausible scenarios hoping for the best prepared for the worst.

Cameron

Watching them go Cameron then left heading to his where he knew he was safe. As much as he wanted to keep the girls safe he was worried one would shoot him.

Blondie

She fallowed Eliza and nodded crouching low and fallowed her lead. Taking her knife out. Having a back pack still on her back she did not feel safe. "What is going on?"
