The wrong hiding place

“Seriously, now all of a sudden, you want to bring our agreement to light?” He asked with a small snicker. “Plus why should I even consider this offer when I can just as easily take your blood of you?” He questioned her, tilting his head to a side. He did not move, keeping a small distance between them. “As I recall you had no other choice but to agree to me, since after all if I did not keep you here, you would have surely been turned into a slave for some one rich. Or perhaps you would prefer that, I heard how some people enjoy keeping their slaves in cages and whipping them for days on end."

It took a moment for Valhra to compose herself once more, trying to think of an offer that the vampire before her might consider. She swallowed slightly, her voice small, but full of a stubborn strength. "And what difference is it if I remain here, or be taken by the slavers?" She demanded. "I am confined my life either way. You have treated me as if you want reason to punish me so far, and have show quite clearly that you long for more of my body than I am willing to give." She finished, and couldn't help but to smirk. She stepped forward, and pressed her finger sharply into the vampires chest, her eyes blazing. She knew that there was no way she could beat his strength, but she had two things she knew he wanted -Or at least guessed he wanted- and that gave her ground to bargain. "I would be beaten both world, only you would feed from me here and leave me weak and defenseless. If I am to be confined, raped, and fed upon here then why not return to the humans where I have a chance of escape?" She questioned, drawing back her hands to fold them over her chest. "Elven blood... I have heard of your kind tearing apart whole villages to possess a single Elf. My elders tell me that our blood is very valuable to you, and I offer it to you without protest... Would you forfeit that simply because I ask you not to touch me?" She continued, her chin raised high and proud, a slight smile on her lips despite the nervousness she felt inside. "Also... With your life you watch humans grow and die around you, companionless. I am the one creature, besides your kind, who could survive as long as you do. It is a lot to lose for one indulgence of the flesh."

Armand nodded, slowly. But was somewhat surprised when she stepped forward and jabbed a finger against his chest. “Well, what’s wrong with wanting your body? After all beauty has to be appreciated. Or would you rather it go untouched for all eternity?”He asked her, rather seriously. “And yes you have heard correctly...” He continued, clearing his throat. “We have gone through quite a lot just to get Elven blood, although human blood is easier to obtain. As for escape, I would ask you to think otherwise, you see vampires have a certain sense of smell once, we smell our prey, and we never lose sight of that person. Although it’s up to you, if you want to test that theory out.”

Valhra didn't seem bothered in the slightest by the prospect of remaining virgin for her entire long life. She gave a dismissive wave of her hand, and shrugged. "Had humans not raided my village I would have taken a lifemate." She said without a trace of regret in her voice. "A hunter, maybe, or if I was fortunate in my pairing one of the young scholars. But my village is destroyed and my people scattered. There is little possibility of me wedding or mating, and no shame in that."

Without a pause she continued, "I know your senses are sharp, and leaves little hope for running. Humans I might escape from, you I never would. If you offer me the same treatment they would, why stay? Why tolerate rape, violence, draining, and confinement with you for an eternity over?"

Armand sauntered over towards a chair, sitting down on it. His eyes venturing once more to the elf girl. “Well, I have something no human has, I can live with you for all eternity and it doesn’t all have to be bad, assuming a certain some one can do as their told.” He said with a shrug, not caring how obviously he spelt it out for her. He, too had a desire to find a life mate, but found other female vampires to be too much of a bore, with their self obsessed chatter. “You know, I too have been searching for a life mate, although have not found one quite up to my taste, since I met you.” He said, non chantingly. His eyes hovering at the cupboard, for a moment becoming silent.

Then all of a sudden his stomach started to rumble, although his hunger was not for normal food. Without so much as a word, he rose up off his chair. Darting over to the fridge, he pulled out a small bottle, then began to drink it down. It felt quite weird as he normally fed alone and also no other vampire knew that he fed off bottles rather then off the actual source.

The young Elf found herself resisting the urge to stare in disbelief at the the vampire, now sitting across the room from her. Was he honestly suggesting that they pair as life mates? Elven pride aside, no being could trust a vampire. They were notorious for their deception, and event he most straightforward agreements hid a hook.

She opened her mouth to snap this back at the vampire, but much to her surprise he was already moving. His stomach growled loudly and he shot to the fridge, snatching at a small bottle to gulp down the contents. Valhra watched the display in amusement, and moved back to the cupboard, pulling down a tall cup before she pulled a knife from the drawers, and she tapped it lightly on the counter. "Do you dislike taking blood from a live being?" She questioned softly. "Either way, I would feed you if you requested."
