Sammy smiled and promised to write Dianna and her son. She hugged Dianna happy that she could give her what she apparently wanted so much. She smiled as she heard of Los Angeles. Images of Hollywood and the Tramp and Lon Chaney. She had never really seen a movie, but, she had driven by a movie theater. She wondered if she could somehow woo a boy in the theater, if she could get a show. She would have to talk her grandfather into it next time she went around him. She grinned and watched the baby leave with his new family. She took in a deep breath and knew she had done good.
When she saw her grandfather, she knew that it was time to return to her normal life, and she was ready to return to it. She was feeling more and more out of place. And something in her was urging her to return home. Like a homing pigeon. She wrote her grandfather of this. It was like a splinter in her foot that she couldn't find. She had become restless and nothing could appease her. Even Nate was coming up short. When she saw her grandfather, she ran to him and hugged him tightly. Burying her nose in him she took in deep lungfuls of his scent. She didn't realize she was experiencing something that would later become termed as postpardem depression.
She smiled and nodded to the doctor and said that she would be honored to seeing him again. She got in the truck and ran her hands through her hair and leaned back and rested her head on her grandfathers shoulder and sighed. Her body was still returning to normal and she hadn't really felt normal in a while.
