Anna bit her lower lip, shifting uncomfortably in her seat while her mother began to scold Leslie for being a little violent at the ball. The only reason that her mother cared was because she was supposed to be finding a potential mate, which seemed silly considering that Anna had found a girl she really liked... Should she say something? Maybe not... After all, Clara hadn't asked her to dance at the ball at all, plus the other wolf had been entertaining suitors herself... But she liked Leslie, she didn't want her getting yelled at unnecessarily.... But she also liked Clara, liked her the way she was and not maimed. Before Anna could make her mind one way or another, Leslie spoke up, graciously defending her actions.
Jessie smiled as Leslie spoke her piece. The wolf leaned over to give her wonderful hero a kiss, only to find that her mate was starting to move towards the floor. The wolf's heart began to hammer as her buzzed mind began to realize what was happening, Leslie was down on one knee...which meant that... "Oh my god..." Jessie's mouth fell open as she looked down at her smiling mate with a beautiful ring held out for her. The cop quickly slid down from her chair, settling onto her knees so that she could throw her arms around Leslie and be on the same level. "Of course I'll marry you." Jessie immediately connected their lips in a deep, passionate kiss. It was a lot...a lot of emotion all at once. Jessie began to tear up, she was just so happy and her adrenaline was pumping from the surprise. She immediately moved her head to bury her face in Leslie's cheek to hide the few tears that managed to come out. "I love you so much Les..." The wolf whispered softly, letting Leslie know that she was okay, she just needed a minute.
"Ay mija" Eva smiled and waved not Jessie or Anna forward, but Leslie. "Get off the floor it's dirty." The floor was immaculate but the fact that it was the floor made it dirty to Eva. She helped the two love birds up and embraced Leslie to welcome her into the family. Even though she couldn't deny that she didn't approve that the girl was a human, there was no denying how happy the woman made her daughter. Besides, Eva had wanted grandchildren for awhile and here was her chance! "Manny go get the champagne. Let's celebrate."
Like a good host Manuel kept champagne and cigars in his home in case of good news. He clapped his hands excitedly and got up, coming back moments later with a bottle of fine champagne and a box of expensive cigars.
"Ay Manuel, guarda tu cigarros." Eva made a face, not caring for the smell of smoke and not wanting it to stink up her furniture.
"Fine fine. I will bring them with us when we go to New Zealand." Manny huffed, disappointed that he would could not smoke a celebratory cigar with his children. But, he supposed he could smoke them when Jessie or Jackson won the hand to hand combat tournament, or for when Anna won the foot race. His children were all amazing athletes, even when they didn't win they made it incredibly far in the competition.
"That reminds me, Leslie, did Jessie remind you to get your ah...eh...what is that word..."
"Passport? Paperwork? Plane tickets?" Anna volunteered.
"All of that! Yes! Paperwork in order to travel?"
Jessie pailed as her mother began to go on about the competition, about how she was so proud of all her children because they did well in so many events. Fuck...she had been trying to wait a little longer, hoping to tell Leslie when it was too late so that she wouldn't have time to get a passport. Her lover had never mentioned traveling, so Jessie just assumed she didn't need/have a passport.
She loved Leslie deeply and would have really missed her mate for the week long event. But she was also aware that Leslie would be the only human there. And she would be stubborn and probably want to compete in order to show that she was fit mate for Jessie. It was just too dangerous, Leslie had been a hunter and if anyone there recognized her then it wouldn't take much to start an angry mob of werewolves.
