It was fairly clear when they started playing that Victor wasn't the best when it came to multiplayer games, no surprise really, he had always played alone before so was completely unused to playing against actual human opponents. Every attempt he made seemed to be calculated for playing against a computer controlled opponent, making him easy pickings for Alexia to beat again and again. Still, despite not winning a single game it was obvious Victor was enjoying himself immensely. Winning or losing didn't matter at all, he only seemed to care about enjoying his time playing with her. When she asked him to spend the night, he was clearly somewhat embarrassed, blushing again as several thoughts inevitably rushed to his male hormone driven mind, but he quickly agreed, calling his foster parents home and leaving a message for them that he would be spending the night at a schoolmates house. He knew they wouldn't have any problems with it, and they had his phone number incase they did actually need to call him, not that he expected them to, nor did they, only instead sending a text message to let him know they had got his message.
The spare room was surprisingly comfortable, Victor had expected to have trouble sleeping in an unfamiliar bed, but instead he slept like a log, at least until Alexia had come into his room and woken him. He blinked, then smiled at her reactions to being alone in the dark. It was hardly surprising really, she was almost certainly used to sleeping in a house with her extremely large family, so to suddenly be in a house where there was only one other person must've been a shock to the system. He attempted to offer the bed to her, but she seemed insistant that he keep it, instead curling up on the floor to sleep. Victor had watched her for a few minutes, but soon the comfortable bed had drawn him back to sleep once more, this time sleeping completely uninterrupted until morning, taking Alexia to actually wake him up from such a deep slumber.
The news of the missing students did come as a shock to Victor, he'd never heard of such a thing happening in this town before. At first he had wondered if maybe it was some kind of prank, but when he saw the other girls clear looks of worry, not to mention the police arriving at school, he quickly realised this was very serious. He did feel some concern for the girls, hoping that they were ok, though it was difficult to feel any real sense of loss. He didn't know them personally, the closest connection to any of them he had was sharing the same school. The biggest surprise though had come when the police came to interview him, in a moment when he was alone again and not spending time with Alexia. It seemed that she had been pointed to as the prime suspect by some of the other students. On the one hand, their suspicions made some sense, Alexia was the only newcomer in town and the girls had vanished as soon as she had arrived. But it didn't take long for Victor to come to the conclusion that was nonsense. Alexia was clearly an intelligent girl, and anyone with any intelligence would know that turning up as the sole newcomer in town and immediately beginning to kidnap people would instantly make you the prime suspect. What kind of idiot would do that? No, more than likely it was either a coincidence or someone was taking advantage of Alexia's arrival and was trying to frame her. Victor told the police of the time he had spent with Alexia, from right after school, spending the night at her house, even seeing her in the middle of the night, and then walking to school with her. It was all the truth, though it completely slipped his mind that she had approached him after school from having seemingly beaten him out even though she had still been on the grounds when he left.
"Well, try not to worry too much" Victor looked to Alexia and smiled slightly as they left the school, getting away from some of the stares and whispers. "The police came to talk to me after people told them they saw me walking with you this morning. I told them about us walking home together, unpacking, me spending the night and everything. It's impossible for you to have done anything and I made sure they knew that" He tried to smile reassuringly, but he was new to this whole comforting a friend stuff, he didn't know exactly how to act. "Your dad was right, people can be cruel, but they can be kind too" He reached out to gently place a hand on her shoulder. "Besides, teenagers love rumours and gossip, the more untrue it is the better. They're just blaming you because you're new, that's all. It makes for interesting gossip to liven up their own boring lives, there's nothing more to it. Try not to let it get to you ok? I'm sure those girls will be just fine"
