Step It Up (Wolvenrogue and I)

When morning came she felt bit odd. Moving about to find his hand cupping her womanhood. "ELI!" Smacking his hand from her mound as she didn't mind his hand touching her breasts but the lower regions were off limits for the time being. She imagined she scared the shit out of him when she shouted his name.

"I don't mind you gropping my breasts but my womanhood is off limits for the time being." She stated to him with her bouncing over him to land on the rough floor boards. He didn't betray her trust but he didn't know that she just wasn't ready. "I know you want to express your love for me but I'm not ready to allow that part of me to be touched." Finally she expressed to him the reason why she denied him access. Getting dressed but found her dress was bit long but it will have to do. She tossed him his clothes so he could get dressed but once he was she walked over running her fingers through his hair.

She knew he kept telling her on a daily basis he loved her but she imagined he noticed she hadn't returned the words. Standing there in silence with her hanging her head before him. "I'm sorry I haven't returned those three little words to you....I'm terrfied. When I think of telling you how I feel I get scared and I can't bring myself to say it. Its not the fact of you may let me down; I can make my own income here."

Finally she looked up at him. "I'm afraid of losing you when I return those words." A few tears welled up at the corner of her eyes as they rolled down her cheeks. "You are the only man I can trust that isn't my brothers."

"Lose me?" he looked at her puzzled. "You couldn't lose me if you wanted to. there is only one way you could lose me and I would pity the man who was able to do it because even if he got by me, he'd have to deal with you too." He hugged her tight and wiped away her tears with a finger. "I love you and I will wait for you. I'm sorry about touching you there. I was nearly asleep and it just seemed natural. "

He stole a kiss from her, and then went out to prepare the horses, it was important they were looking their best as well. He polished their tack, and brushed their coats until they shown, then went back in to get Lilly. He almost lost his breath at how beautiful she was, aparently she had spent some time preparing herself as he worked on the horses. "Lets go buy some good land" he said smiling.

When he was gone she had altered the dress his mother gave her plus the shirt she was wearing earlier. Once he returned she turned as she had a ribbon in her hair when he returned. It seemed the two came to an understanding about how one feels. Smiling as she walked down with him to escort the two horses to the court yard.

The walk there made an impression on the towns people as some men approached Eli to buy her horse. Lillian trusted Eli as Tibus was part of his corner stone to get some land. Entering the courtyard to see the King and his family actually out eating under the sun light. Shocked but she bowed to them as the King approached Eli.

"My boy what business do you have here? I don't remember buying these grand horses. Oh well put them in the pastures with the others." He said waving hs hand but his wife giggled softly.

"My dear husband. You didn't buy these steeds or I would surely remembered the mare and the stallion." The raven haired woman got to her feet and stepped closer then looked Lillian over to see the skill of the stitching plus her eyes went to Eli seeing his clothes looked worn but yet brand new! "Hm..." She stepped back as her sons who were young teenagers walked up to listen to the business at hand since one of them will run the Kingdom someday.

Eli bowed low before speaking "Sire we are guests in your kingdom seeking refuge, I am duke, and this is my lady Lilly. Our King Richard and his son and Prince conspired to work their evil upon the person of this fine lady, and having come to her aid, she and I are outcasts in our own homes, and our families face peril. As part of their plot, I was made a Duke, an honor which I did not seek, but which now cannot be rescinded by the king, though I'm sure he would if he were able to. We come humbly to your kingdom seeking assylum in your land, and offering our services in echange for lands by which we may live peacably together and prosper as a family, always doing honor to you and your court. For our part we offer the highest standard in equine breeding and care, and the finest in tailoring and stichery available in these parts.

As example please examine this fine pair of horses from which we plan to build our herd and supply your needs. The mare is with foal now, and shows every indication of carrying twins, and the stallion is a powerful sud and available to service the best breeding stock available. I can see that the queen has a fine eye for tailoring and I am quite sure that Lady Lilly is more than capable of fullfilling her every desire. "

Having said his peace, he bowed deeply again, and the waited the kings pleasure.

The large man's face was red as he was a man who never raised a hand to a lady and to hear such a thing made his blood boil with rage. "I...He....G-!" He stopped as his own beloved placed her hand upon his chest to get his attention which did calm him down. "There is land thats been abandoned long ago. Fit for a bloodline of a Duke. Plenty of land to farm or as you say..." He moved around the Golden stallion and grasped his strong legs. "Plenty of land to bring us a beautiful herd with this stallion. As you know we are a Central Kingdom as we have merchants coming and going with all sorts of things. My wife and I can help with other corner stones with the herds and I can get the other Royal families from the other Kingdoms to seek you....Both of you out but keep you from King Richard."

The Queen smiled as she looked to Lillian. "I can have word spread we have a master Steamestress here and where to find her. Though sending them to her home won't be just. You may have to work within town."

"That is fine, your Highness. I just want to be sure I can do my part since you sent for me months ago." Blushing as the older woman grasped her chin to make her look at her.

"Its alright. You're here and you'll be running the shop by my word. Also Duke Eli...We won't ask of one of your foals just yet but we have a couple of studs and mares you can use. We are seeking two stallions for our sons to break themselves when they are old enough and perhaps a gentle mare." By then she reached down rubbing her lower stomach which made Lillian congradulate the Queen. "We are hoping and praying for a little girl so a gentle mare would be perfect."

"I promise you we will not dissapoint you. We are not afraid of hard work, no unapreciative of great kindness. If I may ask one additional favor, Should The prince be found in these parts, I beg you allow me to deal with him. He harmed my lady most severely. I pray I may someday make things right. "

"You shall have a stable that is the envy of all. That I swear to you. Please allow us to take our leave. We have much work to do. We want to be able to send for our family before winter and before they are discovered by King Richard."

"Fear not about that, the King said, I will send a patrol out to collect them. They may stay at the castle untill yu are able to accomodate them yourselves. I will send the captain of my guard to you on your land, pray tell him who and where they may be found. If the King Richard or his son should make themselves known we will bring them here in chains. "

Lillian didn't seem to relax but the Queen leaned in and whispered softly to her which made her smile. The woman cupped her cheek in a motherly fashion before she turned to leave with her boys following acting like perfect gentlemen. Lillian did admire their behavior and mannerisms as they opened the door for their mother.

Once everything was prepared Lillian mounted Tibus which shocked the King that the stallion was her's. Once Eli was mounted the guard did lead them to the land the king said was abandoned years ago. They were alerted it needed work but its structure was still in fine condition. Lillian nodded as she looked up at the large stone house and the fences were broken, barn didn't exist and there seemed to be large trees to the side. "Huh..." Looking to the guard as he turned leaving them to get settled. Though he mentioned on him and his fellow guards coming on their day off to help with the rebuild.

She was grateful for that but once she got off of Tibus she stepped inside the house seeing it was dark and dusty. There was growling which meant there was a creature there. "Oh hush!" Snapping as she continued on but she didn't step up on the rotten stair way but by the sounds of the house and the size of it they can house 10 people with ease. "This...This is to genurous and I don't care for the shape its in." She said as she stepped out onto the large porch.

"It is generous, and we had best not look a gift horse in the mouth," Eli said. " It will be far less work than starting from scratch. We asked for land, they gave us a homestead. We can clean the dreat room, its solid enough and live there untill the rest of the house is ready, But first I need a barn and a pen for the horses. Seeing a stone well in the front of the house , he was pleased to see it still had a bucket and a stout rope. Lowering the bucket, he drew water and it was clear and sweet. " We have good water! that is a great blessing . He found an axe leaning on the house. It was rusty but still sharp. "I'll cut some wood for a fire, a fire." he said.

Laughing as she walked over to him as she touched his shoulder. "Should I go to the Tavern and get our things? Since we're going to be staying here." She had seen this man was giddy like a boy gettting his slice of cake. Lillian looked over seeing the white mare wandering around sniffing the ground with Tibus near her.

Smiling at the pair as she looked to Eli. "I'd like to look at the shop either way since I'll be working there and earning income to help build...OUR home." For her to say 'our' was a big step for her as she accepted him as her beloved.

"Alright." He said . "I will try and put together a grass mat we can sleep on." he set down the axe for the moment and set about pulling grass and collecting it for a crude mattress. The grass was dry and sweet, perfect for the task, and also perfect feed for the horses. After an hour, he had gathered a large enough pile to make a makeshift bed . It wouldn't be perfect but it would soften the floor. When Lilly still had not returned, he began to get concerned, and resolved that if she did not return in half an hour more he would tak off after her.

Letting him get himself set as she rode Tibus into town. Once she was there she visited the shop and looked around. The owner was pleased to see her and showed her around. They tried to get Lillian to work right away. "I can't...I can't!"

"Then you can't work here." The woman snapped as it was clear she was losing business.

""Excuse me? I can't work right now as my Husbad and I just moved here and are just settling in and about to restore an old homestead." Lillian was reverting to her old stubborn self which set the woman back abit. "Trust me. Your work is below me and I can take away your clients within a day. Do you really want to manke an enemy out of me?" It was clear the woman got the message as she couldn't lose clients. Leaving the woman there Lillian got their things from the Taven and returned by night fall just as Eli was watching the drive.

"Sorry! The Dress maker tried to put me to work plus threaten my job. I told her I can steal her clients away from her within a day if she decides to push the matter." She handed him the bags and jumped down. "Told her that I can't work today as we moved here and need to settle in for atleast one night."

"At least for now, we will need your income' Eli said. "I have no tools' We will have to pay the smith somehow. I have my sword, and I found a bow. We can hunt for food, and there is plenty of wood, but this will take time. Be glad the king will care fore our families. We owe him a lot. It won't be easy". He wrapped th grass in one blanket, and laid the other over it. It was getting dark, and they had no lantern. He built a fire in the stone fire place, and filled a pot he found with water to heat.

Sighing as she knew this was going to be hard for them but together they could make it work. "How are you certain Mary is with twins? Isn't it dangerous for mares to give birth to twins?" Asking as she explored the room while he got the fire going. She hadn't been able to explore it since she was in a rush. When she got to a corner she stepped on a board that creaked loudly. Looking down at it as it was warped.

"Beloved...." She called out to him as she grabbed the wood and pulled enough to see something under there. "Theres something under there. This place was abandoned what if they left some things of value behind?" Looking over as she backed away knowing he could snap the damaged wood with no effort. When he pryed the board up she reached in and struggled to pull a box up, it was small. Dragging it to the firepalce she opened it to see it was a small amount of copper and silver pieces. "Wow....Our luck keeps turning. Not alot here but enough to get you functioning tools."

Eli smilled at her. "I'm glad your curious, I was just going to nail that back down when I got a chance. Acuallthat will buy quite a few tools, and perhaps a little cloth to finish the bed properly, and a keg of nails. I hope so anyay. Now that she had him curious , so he starte looking around by firelight. There was a door at th back of the room. The handle creaked but it opened. He stood back to look inside, letting the firelight light the closet with shelves. There was what looked like a book , several large spools of thread , some needles , nd stacks of cloth neatly folded. It was all very dusty. "Lilly!" he said with excitement in his voice "Is this stuff any good?!"

She was about to bring out the food when he found a door. Walking over seeing he found her own motherload of material. "Oh lord yes!!!" Reaching out as she grabbed the fabric and dusted one off and by fire light the material shimmered. "Oh!!!!!!?" Holding it to her chest as she looked to Eli.

"With this I can open up my own shop here in the house but what I make will mostly go back to getting materials..." She folded the fabric back up and set it back in the closet. "I wonder what else had been left behind. We can't go upstairs to find out as the stairs are rotten." She decided she will look at the fabrics in the morning to get a better look at them. "This place was left in a hurry...." Returning to their bed as she looked at him. "Keep your hands off those materials. I want to get a better look at them in the morning but maybe when the King brings your mother here with her lifestock we can turn this into a thriving home for us."

Eli laughed at her commanding tone, he knew better. "By the way, if you really want to know how I'm so sure Mary has twins, and dont mind getting gooey, I will show you. But lets eat first. I'll do some hunting in the morning. We will need some meat. " He went over to examine the stairs. They had been made of logs, hewn in half, it would be hard tdious work, but he could do himself. "I'm pretty sure we have what we need to repair the stairs, I might do that before building a barn,. Who knows what is up there. "

"Eli....You just mated Tibus to Mary about a few weeks ago. I don't think that mare can form twins this quickly. If she could then hell if I end up pregnant then be prepared to be a daddy in a month." Laughing as she called out to him as he inspected the stairs. Laying on the make shift bed to hear the dry grass creakling under her. Eating the bits of bread and cheese and knew she needed a clothes line. "Umm Eli....Before you get on the barn think you can fashion me a clothes line? So I can wash and drape the materials over the rods so they can dry."

"Be a skeptic if you like . If you want to know for sure, I'll show you. Otherwise, I'll breed the horses, and keep my slimy hands off your material! he said it with much the same tone as she had just used, and playfully poked her. Eli really was happy. Making this work was going to be a huge task, but was just the sort of thing he thrived on. He he laid down beside her on the crude bed of grass, and ate a bit. He was almost too excited to rest, but his body quickly told him otherwise. "I will head into town in the morning and buy supplies, including some rope for a clothes line, and a large pot for washing and soap making. Right after I shoot something so we don't starve."

"Alright, we don't have a wagon sadly." Sighing as she curled up to him as she let him have what he needed. Once he was done she put the food away. Something told her there maybe bit more here than what they thought. Something to do in the morning is to look around. Yawning as she reached down and laced her fingers with his own.

"While you're out I'll explore the property." Smiling softly as she slowly fell to sleep beside him. Though with the weeks following the men had come to help Eli to build his barn while the few helped in the house. Lillian had washed the fabrics Eli had found plus their family was there running out. She was surprised he wanted his mother and her nieces there with them. The two were just making their life together and yet their family was there. The girls helped Lillian with the wash and they found a loom way in the back of the house. Now Lillian can start her own business there. Once the upstairs were secured the girls picked their bedrooms far from where Lillian and Eli would be sleeping.

Fences were up, fields plowed, life stock where they were suppose to be. This homestead was alive but Lillian still went to work at the dress shop with her older nieces where they made a steady income so Eli can continue to maintain the homestead.

Eli worked hard and even with the bustling household and having two women to keep happy, along with the little girls. he bore up well. He went to bed tired and slept with a piece that was born out of good work and honest living. Still nagging within him was a desire he had still not fulfilled. He had not touched her between the tighs since that night on the trail, though the desire was certainly there, and he had no idea when Lilly would finally acknowledge in words what he was fairly certain she was feeling. The house was now a home, their life stable, and she was a respected seamstress. He didn't know what else was lacking.

As he climbed into bed, he didn't curl up aroud her and colapse into sleep as had been his usual pattern. He lay on his back looking up at the ceiling. "What is missing?" he finally asked, his voice subdued, if not a little somber.

Lillian was lying in bed knowing he had urges and so did she. His mother had spoke to her that if she was to scared to be with her Son then let him go and move on. She was lost in thought when he asked what was missing but she pretended to be asleep for the time being. Her heart dropped hearing the tone he had which made her clench her hand in a fist.

Gritting her teeth as she sat up slowly in the large bed. Looking at him as she was in her night gown. "Eli, I love you enough to know I'm hurting you by not...Servicing your needs. I'm truly sorry about that." Getting to her feet as she moved about the dimly lite room and pulled on a long robe like she was going to go outside. "Perhaps the timing of us having sex is badly timed between work and trying to stay strong for the others."

"Will you please come back here? " he said , holding out his hand. "You needn't service me, You are not some wench whom I keep for my pleasure. That isn't what is missing for me. You say that you love me enough to know that your hurting me. I love you. Period, end of sentence, not enough for this or that. What is missing that you can't say that? That we can't be married? Are you ashamed of me?"

He pulled her down to him on the bed. A tear escaped the corner of his eye. "Lilly I love you."

"Wait...Marry?" She shook her head as she sat there on his bed. "Eli...I was waiting for you to ask me to marry you. My boss knows you as my husband because I told her that you were." This was a shock that he was upset that they weren't married.

Wiping his tear away as she touched her forehead to his own. "I love you Eli." There was no way in hell she will tell him the talk her and his mother had. To her it served no purpose. "I have been waiting for you to ask for my hand in marriage since this house became our home. We've been courting for 2 months and living together just as long. Plus those little girls need a positive male role model...." Blushing as she kissed him softly. "I can see you showing them that this is what a real man does. He works hard for those he loves and protects them with his life."

"I thought there ws something wrong with me, that you couldn't love me! I wanted to know you loved me before I asked." He got off the bed and knealt beside it. "Will you marry me? Will you take me as yours and let me have you forever?"

He looked up at her hoping that he knew the answer.

She wanted to smack him up side his head for thinking such a thing. "Beloved! We've all been working hard and we barely talked!" Laughing softly as she watched him kneel down before her. Leaning down as she kissed him softly but as her lips pulled back abit she whispered her answer. "Yes I will take you as my beloved until my last breath."
