Got done with my first playthrough of Clair Obscur Expedition 33.

So far my GOTY which was previously Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 -- all I gotta say is let Verso rest.

If not, then Football Manager 2024 - One of those games that is just so easy to waste time on, you can spend hours and hours on it and in-game only progress half an hour :')

My backlog is astronomical and I am sure I will expire on this earth before even making a dent in it. When I started making money, and got purchasing power, I was buying EVERYTHING.

My point being that unless I absolutely love the game, like Stellar Blade or Red Dead Redemption 2, I am probably not replaying it.

That's all good about finding those games where some can be played once but there isn't much of an incentive to go through it again. If it's a roguelike/lite, perhaps, or even an ARPG where you can try a different playing style. Though not as such with say, Mad Max. It helps to have a reason.
But nothing wrong with the number of games you have - an avid collector if anything.

Almost through Sigil in Doom - John Romero knew how to make it far more challenging and pushing the limits on the original Doom engine (iD Tech 1)

DOOM Eternal. I'm saving up for a PS5 so I can play The Dark Ages, but until then, I'm gonna have to stick with playing Eternal and 2016 and watching YouTubers play The Dark Ages

I’ve read about Dark Ages and they make it more like the original games, but best to also wait on patches and DLC (Campaign DLC that is - they plan to release soon).
But 2016 is hard to beat.

True. Eternal is my favorite in terms of gameplay and goofiness (at least, when it comes to the skins, collectibles, and giving the DOOM Slayer a whole man cave where he plays guitar, has a toy collection, and can play the first two DOOM games on an old PC), but 2016's dark and gritty atmosphere, environmental storytelling, and the way they show what the DOOM Slayer is thinking without having him speak at all is just *chef's kiss* amazing

That’s a great way of describing it. If Doom 2016 was like the 1st with the atmosphere and gritty locations, then Doom Eternal was essentially Doom II - more the arcade feel with collectibles and gameplay.
