Sitting there, Henri finally removed his hands from his face and just stared off into space. 'This has to be just some horrid nightmare.' The man thought to himself, though the stench in the air of heavy traces of blood told him it wasn't either. This was absolutely horrible. He honestly didn't even want to be here right now. But where could the man go? Henri had no other shelter, and with orcs running around this section and the following section over in the Metro, he'd surely be outnumbered in no time. Coming up with a plan on the fly seemed more and more unlikely as he saw his options laid out in front of him. It truly was either wallow in despair here, or try and face the orcs. Neither sounded very appealing whatsoever.
He wasn't expecting Evelynn's arms to suddenly pick him up. "W-What are-" He tried to get out, but he was soon set on his feet, staring at the woman. There was, at first, a composed expression upon her face. A soldier like this must have been used to human death and gruesome executions by the demons. She might have known this pain before. But he wasn't prepared for what came next either. And that was Evelynn seizing him into a comforting embrace. Henri was speechless, and at first, just stood there in her arms, held tightly. It spoke deeper to him than if Evelynn actually tried to console him. This showed that she cared. That she wanted him to know that he wasn't alone, despite the fact that Louise and the others were gone. That he didn't have to suffer. And when Lucia joined in, feeling her tears splash against the skin of his neck, Henri truly believed that now, his arms wrapping around them both to pull them even closer to him than they were now. Henri listened to Evelynn speak, her words and Lucia's soft breathing the only sounds he cared about right now.
She would get revenge later? Even if she had to do it alone? Hearing that, the Vagabond knew that he couldn't let her do this alone. He wanted to be there with her. Alongside her. They would do this together. All three of them. But her words rang true. They were only three, and even a lone orc by themselves could make a Bio-Soldier or Demon Hybrid have a hard time. So he looked into her eyes, seeing her tears stain those soft cheeks of hers while she revealed why she left her home. It was noble and valiant. Henri couldn't say that he shared the same dreams, as for his entire life, the man was stealing and selling black market goods. Not so much from the rich, but whatever a client wanted. But he did know what he wanted know was to get revenge for his guild members. That was a start, and from there, he would find out what he wanted to do now.
The French words she spoke touched his heart as well. With a soft smile, Henri gently cupped her cheeks and brushed the tears away, not even bothering with personal space since they invaded his in such a caring matter. He then did the same for Lucia should he find any, rubbing her shoulder and squeezing gently. "Thank you. Both of you." His voice was sincere, very much so. "Your support means so much to me right now. Merci." Peeling away from the both gently, he had a firmer resolve now. And he wasn't going to mess this up. Looking at both women, he nodded and then went to the center table.
Henri swiftly cleared it and pulled out a map of Metro. A couple of key locations were marked, one being their current location in the hideout, and the other being the church in the center of the settlement. There was also the different districts labeled throughout. As he pulled this out, sounds of gunshots could be heard above with some shouting, but it sounded like the Metro's defense forces. "We only have a small amount of time, so I'll make this quick." The man began, pointing at where they were previously in the Western Market. His finger then moved to the nearest exit into the Devil's Maw, which was in that same district. "Even if they are orcs, they'll be driven out. We should try and see if we can follow right behind the stragglers escaping. That will definitely get us to where they're holed up, and especially to that war chief." Eyes fared up to Lucia. "We'll need you to help guide us on their trail. If we're too close, we'll be spotted, so we'll have to stay far behind." He then looked over to Evelynn. "Sound like a plan, madame? After all, you're the officer." Henri's smirk returned as he looked at her expectantly.
Revenge was within their grasps...
