It had been exactly four years since demons had taken control of earth. The strongest ones marked their territories and rarely ever left them. These demons were the best of the best, and gathered their weaker brethren and created armies. With the humans on the run or hiding, they began focusing their attention more on their own internal affairs. Though that didn't mean they would allow the human race to grow into what it once was again right under their nose. Most demons did kill a human on site. That or bring them to their layer. Some territories had human farms. Though it was currently unknown why demons chose to imprison and breed humans currently. Most people assumed it was just to feed their strongest.

Evelynn Delacroix wanted to investigate this matter further, and more urgently help the humans who had no shelter or protection. She was a high ranking officer and one of the best bioengineered soldiers that the EHS(Eastern Human Settlement) Council had. Of course, her request to leave the settlement to help these people was denied. Their prerogative was to have her lead the defense and watch team against any threats that may come their way. The officials of this particular settlement thought they were the answer to the all humanity's problems, and if they fell the entire human race would too. All Council officials in every human settlement was like this. They would often communicate to each other through encrypted video transmissions and one up each other in terms of what technology breakthroughs they had achieved.

It was honestly sickening. Just like the demons had their eternal struggles and surprisingly politics, the colonized humans did too. Meanwhile, the defenseless nomads wandering around the continent just wanted to survive. The ones who had families were even in worse positions, watching their children fall prey to demons after wandering off too far. Evelynn had her reports of children as young as twelve being trained to fight to survive. Whatever technology break through these people wanted was none of her concern. She became a soldier to protect people, and that's what she was going to do. EHS alone had over one hundred bioengineered soldiers. They could do without her.

Then there was that matter...that woman Lucia Belrose. The woman who somehow managed to forge her compatability paperwork in order to go through the DHH(Demon Human Hybrid) procedure. That girl had less than a ten percent compatibility rate, but still she went through it knowing that she may be taken over by the demonic cellular structure and DNA that would be placed inside of her body. Somehow, though...somehow she managed to keep her humanity. Even so, once the scientist found out what her real compatability rate was, they locked her away to study. It has been nearly a month, and she showed no signs of losing herself. Still, they didn't plan to let her go. They just wanted to put her through more experiments.

Today, however, was Lucia's lucky day. Being an officer, Evelynn had access to her cell, which was a room reinforced with adamantium and bullet and element proof glass. Evelynn had a master key that she intended to use. It was night time and the security was lax in the area because she had ordered them to different posts. So when she scanned her key, the door opened and she didn't fear anyone seeing. Lucia looked up to Evelynn and grinned. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" She asked with a grin. Evelynn simply put her finger to her lips and then gestured for her to get up. Lucia did this hesitantly, the chains wrapped around her arms and legs rattling.

When Evelynn attempted to take them off, Lucia yanked her hands away. "Not these. I can use these for weapons." Evelynn gave the strange woman a confused look, but they didn't have time for this.

"Fine, let's go." She whispered before turning and starting to run down the corridor. Lucia followed close behind, not knowing what this woman wanted but being grateful for not being in that small room anymore. She thought she had proved that she was more than capable of handling demon DNA within her body despite her low compatibility rate. Maybe this woman saw that. She looked familiar, but Lucia didn't know her name.

It seemed like they were taking every back path they could, and Evelynn knew exactly where and where not to go. She had been planning this for a month. What made it hard was Lucia, but she knew that she would be a good ally. She remembered hearing her reason for risking her humanity for this procedure. She wanted to avenge her mother, who hadn't made it four years ago. She wasn't physically capable of undergoing the bioware procedure to turn her into a bioengineered soldier, so she opted for this method instead.

Evelynn finally stopped now they were outside of the building that contained their lab facilities. Since most of the guards were stationed at every exit of the East Settlement, they didn't really have much to worry about being seen wandering the underground facility. Most people were in their houses, asleep. So she went to the south exit where only one guard was stationed. She told Lucia to hide behind some stacked up supplies while she talked to him, using her authority to send him away. She claimed that he was needed at the north exit and she would take over the south. As soon as he left, Lucia ran out from hiding and she grinned. "I see, we are leaving? That's fine. I've been wanting to see the outside world for a while."

"Good. We're going to do what God intended us to do when he forsake us...we're going to help our fellow man by ourselves. These people don't care about anyone but themselves, and I didn't go through all that pain and training just to be sitting out here and waiting for demons to come to us." Evelynn continued to speak lowly even while they were technically in the clear. The underground passage was dark, but thankfully the now AWOL soldier had planned ahead and brought a flashlight. Eventually the path began to rise as they got closer and closer to the surface.

The moment they came to the surface, a red sky filled with black, foreboding clouds greeted the soldier and demon human. Clouds littered the sky for as far as the eye could see, and some could see what may have been rays of light trying to pierce through. Most saw the angry lightening that danced furiously behind the cloudy veils while the wind in the sky carried traces of ash and soot in the air. Most of the land was barren, void of earthly life such as grass or trees, though many decayed and rotting tree trunks could be found scattered around. At most, dead roots sprouted from the ground here and there, the closest thing they had to grass, yet far from the most lovely to behold.

Curiously, the two wound up before a nomadic tribe, several of which had men aiming weapons and rifles at them. "Hold." A voice called out to his tribesmen, all of which seemed perplexed by the order. The owner of that voice stepped forward out of a makeshift tent. He was older, but far from elderly. His form was large with a large once white beard upon his face, dangling forth to the base of his neck. The wrinkles on his face showed great trials, no doubt having escaped many hoards of demons and traversed the lands far and wide. He loomed over both women, yet he knew that his size and strength would not overcome then. For despite having been a human nomad, he was well aware who one of these women were.

"Hold," He spoke out once more, the defenders quickly lowering their weapons as their leader spoke. He approached the two women, nodding to them as his cloak blew in the wind, every footstep kicking up dirt and dust from the blackened soil. "We have an EHS member here. Officer Delacroix, if my tired eyes don't deceive me." It would appear the older man gave a small grin from how his beard perked up on one end, but it was impossible to tell. "And if so, I find that extremely odd. No EHS human in their right mind would be out here. Even if they had an ally with them." The leader then turned to look at her companion. "Now you though, don't look like EHS at all." He rubbed his chin beneath the beard, scratching his neck briefly before he nodded his head. "But if you're out here, then you two may be on business of your own."

They were then welcomed into the traveling pack for the moment. High value targets like this would no doubt gain attention from demons, and their tribe would be put in further danger. The leader informed them that while they wouldn't just leave them to fend for themselves, they would be unable to allow them to travel with the tribe for long. "Your motives may be your own, that is fine as it is. We all though have an end goal, and that is to live and survive." He spoke again, sitting down in front of his tent. Within though, both Evelynn and Lucia would see three pairs of eyes that peered from behind the flaps. They were small, but wide and filled with curiosity. He would catch their notice of the eyes, looking back to the tent as it suddenly flapped shut. He gave a hearty chuckle. "Those kids, heh. They should be asleep, but even a demon couldn't scare them to bed. Each had a single parent that came with the tribe, but sadly, each lost that mother or father not too long ago. I've taken the task of caring for them." He explained, pouring them both a cup full of rather strong, somewhat foul smelling beverage.

"If you don't recognize it, it's a brew that we nomads cooked up. Smells something fierce, but sure tastes damn good. Gives you a nice, warm feeling and wakes you up. When you walk around like us, you need it." One of the men spoke as they all began to drink and eat. The leader nodded. "We call it, 'Buzz Brew'. Like an alarm clock when you're fast asleep. This will wake you up quick, that's for sure."

For the moment, he let the two stay with them, but it was clear that the leader was watching them. Despite letting them have their motives as is, no human in their right mind willingly waltz out into the Devil's Maw, the barren lands that these nomads walked and traveled between towns and settlements. They had to have purpose. A goal. That, or a death wish. "We've only stopped for a short reprieve. We're going to head out again soon, looking to head to the Metro. We found some minerals and goods that we're hoping to sell or trade for food. And, well, hopefully stay behind walls at least for one night." He explained, finishing a large chunk out of some stale bread. "I mean no disrespect, but we part there. With you two around, demons get antsy. They like the smell of blood from your kinds. They get hungry. Real hungry."

Evelynn wasn't expecting to see other humans right off the bat. When they were met with guns and rifles pointed at them, immediately Evelynn stepped in front of Lucia. The woman was unarmed, and still handcuffed to boot. Such a sight would have been odd in itself, but it seemed like their bearded leader couldn't care less about that. Evelynn was more than willing to take whatever help she could get for now. Even though she was a seasoned soldier, who had battled with countless demons to defend EHS, she had never actually left the area.

She indeed had never heard of this Buzz Brew, but she declined it politely. Lucia however, was happy to take the beverage on and drank all of it. "Goddamn! That is awesome!" She shouted, causing Evelynn to become slightly embarrassed. This woman had no manners and probably no respect for others. While Evelynn felt bad for the children, Lucia just opened her mouth and gave them a big grin showing her sharp teeth. Evelynn had to hiss her name her name to get her to stop. Now wasn't the time to be showing off her demon characteristics.

"Thank you for your kindness. We will be more than happy to join you as far as the Metro. I understand there isn't enough food to go around to supports us, and we probably are nothing but glorified demon bait." Evelynn told him as they walked with the group of nomads. He had a point. Bioengineered humans had a different scent than normal ones...and Lucia? Well, let's just say the demons did not appreciate having their genes and DNA stolen and used against them by the human race. Hybrids were the most hated out of all demon hunters, mainly because their strength grew at an alarming rate and they were the greatest threat to demons.

"Maybe I can get some better clothes. These plain white hospital clothes are lame. Plus, I need a weapon. A big one." Lucia chimed in as she threw her hands behind her head and looked up at the sky. This wasn't what she remembered. She had no idea the corruption had stretched to even the skies themselves. It was a little disheartening. It actually pissed her off and she almost wished that demons would come after them right now. Though she didn't really want to put any of these people in danger. Even though she was now capable of feats she never thought possible, the thing was...she hadn't used any of those feats. They wouldn't let her. So she didn't know how fight...yet. The only reason why Lucia was hanging around Evelynn this long was because she might know how to help her.

It took them quite a while to get to the Metro. Evelynn was impressed with how organized the place seemed. She hadn't seen anything like this in the Settlement. Lucia elbowed her and pointed to a set of clothes she liked. "I need something to trade to get that outfit. Gimmee your gun. Or your rapier. Whatever." She demanded. Evelynn looked at her and wondered if she was serious. She was, from the look on her face.

"I will not trade either of my weapons to give you clothes. Try to trade them the ones you have on you." She suggested.

The bearded leader seemed to take a liking to them, finding their traits both admirable and amusing at the same time. The relationship between the two seemed curious to watch as well, he enjoying the bickering they seemed to toss around. "Heh, you two seem like good company anyways. I could tell from the start. Why else did I tell my boys to lower their guns? If I didn't, hell, I wouldn't be enjoying myself. Besides, it's nice to see new faces in a while." He himself downed the cup of Buzz Brew that he poured himself, and even afterwards, took a swig straight from the bottle. A rather pleased sigh left his lips as he turned his head to burp, trying to uphold some form of manners while in the company of ladies. "Break time's over then. Let's get going, everyone." The men, women, and children that were following this leader began to pack up their things, breaking down the tents they made only hours ago quickly, like it was second nature to them.

Such a thought was rather sad. How long did these people go without a place to call him? Did they even know what having a home was like anymore? How far had they gone, the lands they'd gone through, the troubles they've faced? One could only imagine, yet each individual, including the young ones, looked strong and ready to take on the wilderness and all it threw at them. Their leader was proud of the people he called family. They had come far, and they wouldn't stop living. That was what differentiated them from the usual fodder that demons picked off. They wanted to live.

"Hey, at least you're glorified, right?" A hearty laugh left the nomadic leader as they began their trek to the rustic marketplace known as the Metro. He began to explain that they often made visits to Metro like today, to sell goods or minerals they found along the way. Many of the human settlements that were spread out from one another always had several roads or knew a way to Metro. Strategically as well, it was placed and set up in the very center of all human settlements. It was believed that at the time of its establishment, a small band of humans of varying trades decide that instead of running a town, they would run a market. Despite the end of the world, without a proper economy, greed would run amok and chaos on a financial scale would arise. Thus, they established the system of trade, bartering, and of course, good old fashioned monetary purchases. Many of the humans in the world today simply traded or bartered. In richer settlements, a form of currency was used. The most widely accepted form of currency though came in the form of ammunition. Odd, yes, but there was a main differentiation from the regular ammunition that was used in weapons today.

Firstly, these were ammunition shells that shined and had luster. It was completely flawless in creation as well. These shells were from the past, back when the world had nothing to worry about. When the world's worst issues were environment pollution or wondering what pesticides got into food. There had been a surplus of these ammunition shells, and when the band of traders established Metro, they established this form of currency as well. It didn't take off at first. Many establishments seemed to settle on their own, but once the economical network spread to each settlement, only a foolish leader would not accept it with open arms. There was a standard, and while many settlements didn't agree with one another, they knew the need for imports and exports. Money, even now, made the world go round.

Upon reaching Metro, they were held outside the front gates until they were verified as humans. Any demon could disguise themselves. They especially gave Lucia a good look over, but eventually allowed her in. The moment they set foot, a raucous of voices, shouting, tools and machinery working, and a cacophony of other noises filled the air. It was as if they unplugged their ears from the Devil's Maw. Children ran by them, playing with rudimentary toys, or some being chased by a loved hound. The nomad leader took a deep inhale and sighed out, smiling and nodding his head, pleased. "Oh yes, even a nomad enjoys the perks of sleeping behind walls. That wasteland out there gets rather uncomfortable as a bed, heh." He then turned to both Evelynn and Lucia, shaking both their hands. "We part ways here, ladies. Whatever your journey brings you, I wish you the best." Each man and woman that traveled with them gave a similar departure before they were lost within the thick crowd of people.

Everything from food, tools, weapons, and clothing lined stalls and walls. Every merchant accepted Shells, and most were willing to trade. There was much to see, and despite the crowd, the women would be able to discern the military police. Each patrol unit carried several people, wearing ragged looking military camouflage. It looked as if it belonged to a country's past army, but what specific one was unknown. Many of the guardsmen and women had sleeves with missing patches, though each had a single patch, and that being the insignia of Metro. It was a scale with Shells on one side, and a wrapped parcel on the other side, symbols of bartering and money. Rather fitting.

Curious though was that, even with a crowd, there were an abnormal amount of patrols around. They spoke to any and all citizens, one duo of guardsmen walking up immediately to the two newcomers. "Travelers, have you seen a suspicious man with dirty blond hair and red eyes?" Was their only question, both cautiously gazing at the both of them. It was easy to hear all patrols asking the same, yet every answer was met with a simple nod to all members of the patrol before they moved away. So far, no one had at all seen a man matching this description.

Before Evelynn could speak, Lucia just grinned and cocked her head to the side. "What if we did? What's in it for us?" She asked the guards, who really didn't take too kindly to that question.

"Umm, don't mind her. We haven't seen him." Evelynn interrupted, glaring at the red head. Suddenly a female soldier walked up to the two of them, a look of disdain on her face.

"If you know something, you better tell us. You may live by your own rules outside of our walls, but here you will follow our rules and tell us what you know." She threatened as she placed her hand on her hip, close to the gun that was holstered at her hip. Lucia's grin never left her face, even with this intimidating woman barking at her and drawing attention to them. Evelynn just sighed and attempted to speak, but Lucia just held her hand up.

"Don't get those panties in a bunch. My friend here speaks the truth. We haven't seen him, however..." She paused and then winked at Evelynn, who just looked at her once again with confusion. She was going to get them jailed or something. If they drew too much attention to themselves, it could be bad. Especially because they were from the settlement. Evelynn was sure that nomads hated them, and even more so if they found out those two had willingly left the comfort of their defenses. "I can find him for you. If I do, promise me a weapon and a change of clothes."

"Lucia!" Evelynn cried out in disbelief. Did she really have to stick her nose where it didn't belong? She seriously needed to have a talk with her. The soldiers just looked at her with suspicion. "She didn't mean that. We'll leave you to your jobs, and if we see anyone that matches that description, we'll let you know." Evelynn grabbed Lucia's arm and dragged her away towards an alley where they could talk alone.

"Hey, what's the big idea? I was trying to find a way to get me some clothes!" Evelynn was really grating on Lucia's nerves right now. If she wouldn't help her she'd help herself, and if that meant selling her talents she'd do it.

"Look, we're not at EHS anymore. Those soldiers could shoot and kill us without hesitating if they thought we were lying or something. Or imprison us. They are the law here, and YOU are drawing attention to us. We're not like them. Especially you. If they notice that we're different, there is no telling how they'd react."

"But we're both stronger than them." Lucia protested as she started picking at her ear, trying to scratch a particular itch that plagued her that seemed to be caused by Evelynn's voice. "Hell, I could probably wipe this place off the earth if I wanted to..."

"Don't talk like that. I know I broke you out, but I'm watching you. If you become unstable and start changing, I will put you down." Evelynn's voice was serious as she stared at Lucia with a wary gaze. Lucia's blue eyes shifted and then suddenly she smirked.

"Do you think you're stronger than me, Officer Delicroix? I heard that once humans are reborn as hybrids, they are already twice as strong as bioengineered soldiers. Perhaps we need a demonstration..." The two women stared each other down, the air around them stiff with tension. The only upper hand Evelynn had was experience, that much was true. However...she had stood against many demons that were stronger than her, and beat them with tactics and wit. That was why she was such a high ranking officer.

"Let's...just get you some clothes. I have money that I was saving for ammunition..." She admitted with a defeated expression.

Suffice to say, Lucia's remark didn't bode well for the guard patrols and soldiers investigating this issue. They quickly offered the two women some unappreciative stares and rather mean glares. Ultimately though, the women didn't do anything to obstruct them from their search. They were just rather troublesome to talk to. "You would do best to do that, ma'am." Came one of the male patrolmen. "It's imperative that we capture this man." And they left it at that. Several other groups being questioned could be heard given the same spiel; it's important to find this criminal or target. Whatever it may be. The real reason why it was so important was not delved into. It left many to wonder what exactly this man did, and with the lack of information, many wondered if it was particularly nasty.

Nevertheless, the women were right to at least carry on with some sort of objective, the first being a proper attire for Lucia. While it was common to see rags and sometimes barely anything on people, the gown she wore did make her stand out negatively. The first few stalls, however, seemed to be rather on the expensive side. A leather stall was even further out of their reach, but that kind of attire did do very well out in the Devil's Maw. It wasn't until that they traveled a bit further into the Metro that they came to a small circle of stalls that seemed to be more within their price range. One particular stall next to the settlement's church provided clothing for a modest price. "Why hello, ladies. You two look like you're in need of some new clothing." He especially pointed to Lucia. "You, an entire wardrobe it seems." The seller simply chuckled, and whatever response she gave him, he simply waved it off. "Now, as much as I want to help, money speaks louder than words here. And since I'm in a rather good mood, I'll give you a great deal."

He disappeared underneath his stall's table, pulling out a weathered hard box that had seen its fair share of travels. He unlatched it and went inside to pick up the small set of clothing for Lucia. It was indeed women's clothing, and the material didn't look like amazing quality. However, it appeared thick and resilient. For the most part too, it looked clean. "For your friend here, this is a complete set. Top, bottom, boots, the whole nine yards. Now, not a lot of people seem to like the style, and I've been trying to get rid of it. So how about this? I'll cut the price in half for you, and the entire pile is all yours." The seller gave a friendly smile, crossing his arms and awaiting their decision. While they might have some other stalls to check, chances were that Evelynn would at least have some Shells left over to perhaps get some ammunition.

"Going once, going twice?" He chuckled, playfully taunting them a little. Whether making the decision or not, the seller quickly looked behind them, seeing patrols running towards the church. However, the doors suddenly slammed in their face, to which they quickly began banging on the door, yelling for and demanding entry. "Huh, wonder what's going on there..." Suddenly, right above them, the church window pane shattered. "Oh hell!" The seller quickly dived away from the table as a cloaked figure landed upon the stall, destroying its tarp and the table itself, scattering Shells and papers about. Its hooded face looked towards the two women, the only thing seen of its face being a pale pair of lips grinning at them. It appeared to be a man, roughly around six feet in height when he rose up. In his hands was a pristine, marble grip revolver with intricate designs along the barrel and loading chamber. Before they could make anything else out, the figure had quickly sprinted away and disappeared into the crowd, shoving people out of his way and overturning carts to slow the patrol groups that were giving chase.

The patrol from the church did their best to catch up, but one man stopped just a short ways away from Evelynn and Lucia. He pulled out his radio, viciously dialing into the communication channel. "Blasted, he stole it already! Slipped right under our noses and bolted into the church." He growled out, staring towards the direction he went. "Who?! It's that damned man, the one they keep calling the Vagabond!" He shouted out before slapping the radio back upon his hip and dashing towards his comrades.

"Christ, that guy nearly landed on top of me. Damn it, my stuff!" The seller grumbled, quickly picking up his Shells. "Damn Vagabond keeps making trouble the Metro like this, and I'll pack up and go somewhere else."

Lucia had actually decided to inspect every bit of clothing in the box while Evelynn began to take out some shells and count through them. "Yeah, I guess this will do. Better than what I'm wearing now. Pay the guy, Evelynn." Lucia began to pull on the boots already, since she had been walking all this time on her bare feet. As she did so, both women reacted to the sudden commotion behind them and looked towards the guards. Evelynn began to look around, first to the right, then the left..then up, seeing the shadow of a figure above the window. She and Lucia immediately jumped back when the glass shattered and the guy landed on the stall, where Lucia had the rest of her clothes that she was about to buy on.

"Hey.." She began as she saw the grin on that mans face, though the hood blocked her from seeing where his gaze truly was. When he completely sprinted away, Lucia took off after him. "Get back here, you bastard!" She shouted after him as moved a lot faster than a human should have been able to move, though he did have a lead on her from her slow reaction time to give chase. She herself knocked over anyone and anything that stood in her way from chasing that guy down. She saw the gun, she'd take that as payment for catching whoever this guy was.

Evelynn was torn, knowing that Lucia had taken off with the boots that she hadn't paid for just yet, though the man seemed to have his own thing attend to. "Here. For the boots. Sorry about your stall." She told him as she handed him a few shells while he gathered up the ones scattered. Because of that, she had some ground to cover between her and Lucia, and whoever those guards were chasing after. Not to mention, she didn't want to make a spectacle of herself like Lucia was doing. She would travel on her own pace, because she had tracking on Lucia and would find where she was.

As Evelynn ran a more human pace to catch up to her partner, she saw that Lucia had actually opted to push away any soldiers that were giving chase to that man. They were definitely not pleased and Evelynn could only pass them and apologize while she did so. Lucia was going to get them kicked out of this place so fast. This wasn't cute. They really needed to buy some supplies and ammunition here, because once they went out into the open they'd be fending for themselves.

Lucia was quickly gaining on the fugitive, laughing maniacally as she did. By this point she had no idea where they were, but there wasn't anyone or anything he could shove to get in her way. "Give up! I'm gonna get you! Then I'll strip you and take your clothes! That gun looks nice too, thief! I think I'll have that as well." She shouted at him, not caring about the danger of him being armed while she wasn't. She hadn't felt so alive. The way she was running she was truly enjoying this. Finally she was able to use that DNA she had tricked those idiots at EHS into giving her.

Patrols were in hot pursuit as the Vagabond made his way through the streets and crowd. People were shoved out of the way, many soon learning to make way if they wanted to keep their hands on their current wares or Shells. "Stop the thief!" Came one of the patrolmen's voice, which only seemed to startle much of the crowd. What startled people even more, even the patrol groups giving chase, was the fact that a woman zoomed past them and made her own way to the Vagabond. Even he knew that a particular pursuer was catching up to him, and considering his latest score, he wasn't in the mood for returning things. It was time to lose these clowns and make off with the revolver.

The cloaked man made a hard left, leaping over a cart that barely blocked the alley way that he ducked under. But there were many obstacles in this alley with several people lining up against the wall. He seemed to change tactics now, slipping past the people, sometimes with just a hair's width away. It appeared to help him weave faster through the alley. In addition, he had an almost cat like grace as he leapt over or slid underneath carts and crates, still maintaining a fine amount of momentum that he could easily continue his sprint. And yet he barely broke a sweat, just a slight pant escaping the tall, hooded figure until he turned a corner to reach a dead end. "Shit." His voice sounded rather smooth and soft, considering his predicament. However, tight situations like this were hardly a thing the Vagabond struggled with. So in a rather acrobatic display, he leapt up on to a high windowsill and made his way up, starting to wall bounce until he climbed on top of the roof to continue the chase there.

Lucia would find a ladder against one of the walls, propped up against the wall and leading up to the roof. Upon the rooftops, some rather small, demonic or mutated birds flew up into the air, their gatherings disturbed by the Vagabond as he jumped from building to building. There came a particular large jump that forced him to land and roll since he launched his body forward. This, in turn, caused the ornate revolver to go flying out of his grip and sliding across the rooftop, something that earned another curse from the Vagabond. He easily retrieved it, but it cost him valuable time, and no doubt Lucia could take advantage of that. He couldn't dwell on the opportunity given to this woman that seemed persistent in catching him. So he willed his legs as fast and as far as they could travel and move. Though such a wish came to an end when the chase came to a slight pause upon a lone building rooftop. Even with his expertise in flight compared to fight in that equation, the man couldn't make that jump across the pathway even if he wanted to.

Coming to the edge, the Vagabond peered over to look down at the street. No patrols down there, that was the plus side. The downside of this option was that jumping down there would probably hurt. A lot. In fact, he'd probably break a rib if he landed incorrectly. And Gods, did that hurt like a bitch. Turning to peer at the woman who chased him, along with some patrol guards several buildings behind, the Vagabond had a decision to make. Another peer over the side, and he did see small stall directly beneath him, covered by a cloth awning. It'd absorb his fall somewhat, but he still couldn't guarantee a soft landing at all. Still, something told him that dealing with this woman instead of the guards sounded like a bad idea. So, he played the cards he was dealt. Without a quick sigh, the Vagabond tossed himself over the edge to the stall below.

Everyone would hear a loud snap and crash as the stall fell apart to the impact, destroying the wood and pillars holding the awning. They were weak and brittle, providing less for the thief, so his landing ended up hurting a bit more than he would have liked. It knocked the wind out of him too for a moment, so the Vagabond laid there for a brief second, coughing and gasping for air. He clutched his back as well, feeling pain surge through him for a moment as he rolled over on to his front, a fit of coughs kicking up the dirt off the ground. A pained groan left him as he managed to get on his feet, but anyone could see that he moved slower now, attempting to catch his breath. Even the jog he broke into seemed somewhat pained. He forced himself to stumble into another alley way, leaning against the wall as he clutched his side.

The man had a feeling that he had bruised a rib, and he'd probably want to soothe that pain as quickly as possible lest future jobs be hindered by it. The Vagabond had lost his way though, still needing some time to learn the in's and out's of the Metro, a city who's streets seemed like a maze if one was not careful. His path earlier was his backup route, and it failed him. Now he was flying blind, and he didn't like that one bit. Plans were made for a reason, and it seemed that this one had come undone at the seams very quickly. Not to mention that he was a sitting duck out here. The guards were asking about him, and that meant he couldn't leave the cloak. It had to stay on. But they already had a good look of him in a cloak. They knew who they were looking for, both masked and unmasked.

"Great, just great." He groaned, quickly turning a corner and looking back down the way he came. "That woman's gonna be on me any minute, and now I'm slower. This day could not get any better..."

Lucia seemed to have no problems keeping up with the fugitive, even when he decided to take to the rooftops. She grabbed the ladder and propelled herself upwards, landing on the rooftop shortly afterwards and taking off. She continued to laugh as this had now turned into a game for her. She was testing the limits of her new body and greatly enjoying it. She wasn't anywhere near as graceful as him whenever he jumped from roof to roof. In fact, she was actually causing more damage whenever she jumped or landed on a building because she was using her brute strength as well as her speed. When she saw him struggle with a particularly large gap, she grinned. Now was her chance to finally close some distance.

She pushed her muscles to their limits, flying into the air and landing considerably farther than where she had intended. Still he was ahead of her so she just continued her pursuit. "Oh this is so fun! Fun, fun, fun!" She cried out, seemingly not even out of breath from this experience. When she landed on the lone rooftop as he contemplated jumping to the ground, she just assumed he was trapped and didn't know where else to go. But to her surprise, he really did decided to take the suicidal route and jump down into the streets. Whatever. She could do that too. Still, when she got to the edge of the building, she realized how long the fall really was. Man, that looked like it hurt. But she wouldn't let all this be for nothing. She wouldn't let him get away.

Lucia jumped feet first, though she made sure that she wouldn't land on the rubble that used to be a stall. No, she opted to land on only the ground. People could audibly hear her feet crash into the soil and Lucia just stood there for a bit. "It hurts...so good..." Her legs nearly shattered from that impact, but her bones started healing just as fast as they were fractured, and it only took her a few seconds to continue her pursuit. Mnn, her body regenerating felt nice. She had lost sight of him, but his scent still lingered in the air. Hehe, she knew where he was, so she opted for a different route considering he was much slower than before. She took another alley way once she came to the end, she made a right and stopped running. Instead she looked down the alley way he went, and saw him looking behind himself expecting her to follow.

That was when she leapt into action, pouncing on him and forcing him to the ground. She held down his arms so he wouldn't be able to shoot that gun of his and sat on his stomach, probably further paining whatever injury he managed to get. "Caught you." She whispered as her piercing blue eyes looked down upon him. Sure enough up close she could see his red eyes looking up at her. Even though he was bigger than her, she had the strength of a demon and so it was easy for her to hold him in place, not to mention he seemed hurt. "Man, you were slippery. Squirly even. Though I made up the distance easily enough. So the question is, what do I do with you? You're pretty handsome up close. It would be a shame if you got executed or something."

As Evelynn followed the panic, eventually the trail ended at a stall that was broken. They had to be close by, and the Vagabond's pursuers were still gaining their wits about them and trying to find out where he went after they took to the rooftops. They had managed to outrun them for now, but not Evelynn. She started running once more, and she pulled up her tracking radar through her artificial eye, seeing that Lucia was indeed close by and finally not moving. She must have caught him. Sure enough when she rounded a corner, she saw Lucia on top of that man. She blushed a bit as it seemed lewd. That gown of hers wasn't covering her backside so well when she was bent over like that. She really did need new clothes. "Lucia...do you know how much trouble you are in right now?" Evelynn hissed lowly as she approached the two. "At least you caught him..hopefully they will forgive you because of that."

The Vagabond saw that... well, actually, he didn't see anything after he had stumbled into the alley. Did she actually refuse to jump? Well, she was human, he didn't have to worry. Besides, the woman had no safe landing nearby herself. She'd have to be a fool to even contemplate making the jump. That would at least buy him enough time to throw them off his trail. "Good, good." He sighed out, pressing himself off the wall and walking down the alley. With the patrols around too, he'll have to find a way to get past them. Bouncing around the rooftops would have been great if they didn't chase him on to it. But, no matter. A simple change of plans was in order, and he was great with coming up with things on the fly. He wouldn't have made away with this ornate revolver if he wasn't, as crashing through a church window and causing a marketplace ruckus definitely was not part of the original plan.

Suddenly, the man grunted out loud and hit the ground hard by some harsh force. The next thing he knew, he couldn't get up, his arms being pinned down. What followed next was a weight upon his stomach, putting pressure on his bruised ribs as he seemed to groan in aggravation and discomfort. Oh boy, was that going to hurt a lot in the morning. "Salop!" A thick French accent rolled off his tongue as he cursed in the foreign language, wanting to grasp at the source of his pain but unable to do so. Instead, he could only stare back at a rather lovely pair of icy blue eyes. In normal circumstances, the Vagabond would play coy and flirt, even in the face of danger. Well... why not? He was always in the mood for fun.

"Bonjour, madame." He greeted her with a small, polite smile. "Usually it is I who is on top, but I'm quite open to a bit of reversal. Ah, but I bruise easily, please be gentle." Like she was obviously not right now. He showed a bit of discomfort as he tried to adjust himself to be more comfortable, but to no avail. Damn, this woman was strong, and he thought he worked out. "Slippery? Squirly? Heh, I must say that I've never been called that. Not quite sure if it's a compliment." A chuckle left his lips as he gazed back up at her, smiling more so when the actual compliment came. "Oh, stop. You'll make me blush." Though, she did bring him back to the very, very important issue at hand here, which was that he had been caught, and she was wondering if she should turn him in.

Shortly afterwards, footsteps could be heard behind the woman pinning him down. He twisted his head around her to see a more upper class woman approach her comrade, it seemed. Lucia, was that his captor's name? "No, no, no." The Vagabond spoke, chuckling lightly as he looked to the newly arrived captor. "You wouldn't send me to that dusty old prison now, would you? I mean, look at this handsome face as Miss - Lucia, correct? - as Miss Lucia said. Surely you don't think I belong in such a disgusting, filthy place." He told them, offering a charming smile. "Ah, are you in it for a reward? Come now, you know these Metro patrol officers won't even drop a single Shell into your palms. Now I, on the other hand, am a man of honor... well, I did steal from a church, but desperate times call for desperate measures, ladies." The Vagabond went on, defending his sense of honor before he simply shook his head and got to the point.

"Shells? No? Hm, human greed eludes some of us, it seems." Another quickly shuffle to wiggle free, and to no avail. He quickly examined them both, and based on the garbs from the second woman, she looked to be of a military background. Though why she was alone and with Lucia, that was curious to him. He wanted to be nosy, but he found no level ground to base it off of. Though, speaking of Lucia, the woman had on... what, a medical gown? That was just strange. "You two must be new here, ah how could I have missed it? Well, I suppose your first inkling would be to assist the local law. Greater good, for justice, yada yada." His red eyes focused a bit on Lucia, since she seemed to be the one lacking equipment. "I'll tell you what. Instead of turning me in, follow me to my hideout, and I can make it worth your while. I get off the hook, but you walk away with some goods, hm?" A grin was directed to them both. "I'm talking about high quality merchandise too. Stuff you couldn't even find in Metro."

Lucia was surprised at his french accent, however she just smirked and commented on how sexy it was. A ladies man, huh? Well it would take more than a few sweet words and offering of sex to get Lucia to let him go. She just smiled at him as he spoke. He really amused her. Though her fun came to an end when Evelynn arrived. Wait, how the hell did she find her so fast? Damn biofreak soldiers...they were creepy as hell. She had even heard about AI's possibly implanted in their heads. Though she was sure that was just rumor.

Evelynn stared down at the fugitive with a bemused look on her face. What a prissy boy. This was the one who caused so much trouble? She could barely believe it. The two women listened to the Vagabond and looked at each other. Evelynn was the first to answer him. "So what you're saying, is that you would like us to also be criminals because we let you go?" She asked stiffly as she placed a hand on her hip. "Don't care how pretty you are. Stealing is wrong, especially during times where we as humans need to work together." Evelynn seemed to be a virtuous martyr in her words. Lucia just rolled her eyes.

"Now hold on, Evelynn. We're technically criminals too. You know what they do to bio-soldiers who run away? They find them, cut all their artificial muscles out of their bodies and leave them for death. And me? Oh, they'll just kill me. We're not so different from this cutie...Don't be a fucking hypocrite."

Damn it. She got her there. Evelynn just glared away from the two and then sighed. "Fine. What if he decides to betray us though? He probably just wants to trick you into letting him go." Lucia just shrugged and then looked down at the man beneath her. She then opened her mouth and revealed her set of sharp teeth to him.

"Nah...he won't betray us. Not after I chased him down. Besides, I will always remember his scent." She said in a rather intimidating way. She then got off him and helped him up. "Fuck. You're tall. You look shorter when you're running like a coward. Well go on, show us the way to your hideout. Unless Evelynn has any objections. Do you?" Her blue eyes stared at the soldier and she just folded her arms.

"No. Unfortunately, I still think he should be turned in. However, you've pretty much ruined any chances we can get supplies here. You made the worst spectacle of yourself, and people are saying that you're a demon. So, let's just go with him. But if he tries anything funny, I'll be cutting him down myself. So, Mister. You have two women who are more than likely twice as strong as you with their eyes on you. You better not...try anything funny." Evelynn threatened as she took a step closer to him.

"Yeah. Don't fuck us, buddy. I don't want to hurt that handsome face of yours." Lucia agreed.

Evelynn still had a bad feeling about this. She herself had broken the law when she left EHS to do her own thing, which to be honest she still didn't know what that was. She could fight a million demons and slay them all, but if she didn't get to the root of the problem she would die trying to set their world free. She had an idea of where she needed to go, but even she had to admit that this was a fools errand. Not to mention, Lucia might not make it all the way to her destination.

If he had to have been caught by someone or a group of people, hey, he had to admit that this was a nice deal. Both women were quite the lookers with one on top of him. Sure the circumstances weren't fitting, but he rather did enjoy the view from here. Besides Lucia was a lot more approachable to speak to compared to her friend. Ah, so that was Evelynn then, hm? Well, if they had plans to off him, he didn't think they were going to now. Perhaps through sheer looks alone, the man got on her good sides? It was wishful thinking, but even a woman like her could lose patience with him. The Vagabond decided to play it safe and let the two of them bicker first and decide their course of action. Would they side with him for the moment, or resort to the more judicial choice of the matter? He calmly awaited their decision.

Maybe it was unintentional, or perhaps they just forgot he was even there. At least he learned why these two were here, and that would work in his favor. "A Bio-soldier and a... hm, a Demon Hybrid?" Looking into Lucia's eyes for a moment, he nodded and smiled at himself. "Oh yes, that's what you are. Well, this is just rather interesting! I honestly feel flattered, I didn't think the Metro would have to resort to such lengths to catch me. Then again, as you two just discussed, neither of you appear to be really in it to help these folks." Still pinned down, he made himself as comfortable as he could get, though they would no doubt need to get moving sooner or later. And of course, the sooner, the better.

"Trick you? Madame Evelynn, your words hurt me. I would never think of betraying two beautiful women like yourselves. Why, in fact I'm not sure if I'm in heaven or hell right now with you two. Heh, well, I do like a girl that's feisty, Madame Lucia." The Vagabond teased, grinning playfully before she assured Evelynn that he wouldn't get away. At least, not far. Especially with that heightened sense of smell she had. Well that just made things more difficult. He truly was screwed, wasn't he? The thought helped to make sure he did stay up, standing up and brushing himself off, wincing a little at his ribs while he listened to Lucia commented on his height. The man just chuckled as he lowered his hood. It didn't matter, they saw his face anyway. "There's a time to fight, and a time to run. Either way, it would appear neither option would have bested you, Madame Lucia" He couldn't help but chuckle, but it was then that it was time to move.

With a soft clicking of his tongue, the Vagabond turned and began walking down the alley, trying his best to ignore his ache. "Come now, Madame Evelynn, you stand to gain from this as well. I do understand you'll make quite a large sum of money by turning me in, so I'll make up for it with an even better offer. I promise." He said with a confident smile, striding down the street carelessly, but they had taken all the back routes, soon passing into a more dingy side of town. This part of the Metro seemed to be lacking in tender love and care, though much of the pathway seemed to have been disturbed by constant foot traffic. They soon came to an iron gate that he unlocked and entered in with the women behind him. They continued just a further way down, up to a curtained doorway with light shining out of.

Once inside, all eyes were on the women. A small band of men and women looked on in curiosity at their guests, not used to seeing the Vagabond with company. He simply shook his head, speaking in French once more. At once, they all seemed to visibly relax, though many were still on guard. He turned to them. "They're a bit jumpy, but the Thieves's Guild here is home for us. So, it's understandable, no?" He chuckled and waved them in, hanging up his cloak on a nearby hook. Immediately, they made a beeline to what appeared to be a large workshop with a desk and many filing cabinets and drawers on one end while several tables and tools were strewn around the place. Once inside, the man closed the door behind them and then leaned against his desk, arms across his chest. The warmth of the fireplace spread across the room, its light illuminating his features completely. Red eyes gazed at them with interest.

"You may know me as the Vagabond, yes? Ah, what a trifling name that Metro has given me. Please, my name is Henri. Henri Theirry, at your service." The man gave a polite bow at the waist, arm across his waist as he then lifted with a charming smile. He then placed the revolver on the table, leaving it be and then gazing at them one at a time. "So then, first off, what brings you two to Metro? Maybe that'll help me find out what sort of fee I can pay for my release."

As much as this criminal tried to hide his injury, Lucia could smell his pain. Literally. When human's were in pain they released certain chemicals and her nose was sensitive enough to pick it up. She felt bad because she knew that he had gotten that injury from her. Maybe there was something she could do to help him. Well, it was kind of disgusting and she wasn't sure if he would agree. The scientists apparently had kept this a secret, and even Evelynn probably didn't know. However, her blood was an elixir to humans that would heal their aches and pains. She didn't know the specifics of how it worked. Pure demon blood simply corrupted and killed humans, but the blood of a hybrid would heal nearly any sickness, ailment, or injury.

So, being as how Lucia was the only hybrid not out fighting demons...she was basically used as the main source of most 'medicine' that was given to the injured or sick. It sucked though, drinking her own blood would do nothing for her. So while she could heal others she was shit out of luck if she ever got hurt herself. Hmm. She'd have to think about this more before she suggested it. As much as she enjoyed her new company after being imprisoned for all those months, she was going to take care of herself first and foremost. Besides, she knew that once her blood was extracted, they had to dilute it and make it appear less like blood so no one would catch onto their secret. A single vial of her blood could make ten vials of potions. What would happen if she gave someone too much?

Evelynn said nothing even as this man talked to her. She just kept her hand on the hilt of her sword just in case he tried to make a run for it. Though, Lucia had a point. He had been hunted down by her once, more than likely he would not risk that again. Still, she became even more distrusting of him as he talked sweetly to her. Evelynn never trusted the words of men. She had been hit on many times, and each one she turned down because she knew what they really wanted. She could see it in their eyes every time the looked at her. Being a high ranking officer, she was quite famous at EHS and most men thought that she would be the perfect woman to breed with. While the population was monitored heavily within settlement walls to make sure they all had food and spaces for people to live, every spring they would tally up any deaths that happened and depending on that number they would allow the same number of healthy strong women to conceive.

Evelynn had expressed her firm disinterest in being one of those women every single year. Though the number of fertile women at EHS who could have healthy children wasn't very high. So each time she kept being pressured, and each time she had many suitors who tried to convince her along with the council. This past spring was particularly annoying, and she even had someone try to force themselves on her. Which maybe would have worked if she hadn't been on the shot. Each woman was required to be on birth control unless they were chosen for breeding. The fact that she easily bested him in combat also prevented him from being successful. Evelynn was truly the pinnacle of strength and the perfect candidate both appearance and gene wise to contribute to the continuation of the human race.

So, one could only understand her irritation when this man tried to sweet talk her. Lucia on the other hand just ate it all up from what Evelynn could tell. Eventually they found themselves in the slums of the Metro. The living conditions were absolutely horrid from what the ex soldier could tell. Though, some people preferred this over traveling to find a better place to live. This only served as more motivation for the Evelynn. She wanted to put a stop to all this. She just needed help.

Finally they seemed to have reached their destination. Evelynn had the aura of a authoritative figure and was dressed as such. So she got the most uneasy looks. Lucia..well Lucia was just different and people could pick up on it almost right away. Immediately Evelynn knew that they were criminals just like this man. Even though she felt sorry for them, she was still uneasy about being in a thieves guild being formerly a woman of the law. They followed him to the larger work shop area, and Lucia immediately sat on the table. "Oh my god. I'm fucking tired!" She whined as she kicked her boots off and rubbed her feet. Ever since her little chase she felt fatigued. Maybe she overdid it a little.

"It's...nice to make your acquaintance Henri. I am Evelynn Delacroix and that rowdy girl over there is Lucia Belarose." Evelynn introduced formally despite him already catching their names. "Lucia needs clothes and a weapon. I need ammunition and rations for our journey. Maybe some healing salves or bandages for first aid kits. Anything that would help for traveling that you can spare would be helpful." Evelynn told him.

Hearing Lucia's little cry made the man chuckle, finding her level of comfort quite adorable. For all they knew, they could have been walking into a death trap. Instead, Lucia just pranced around like she didn't have a single care in the world, and he couldn't help but relax himself. Seeing the boots hit the floor haphazardly, he did examine them from afar. Perhaps to the Metro, these boots were a bit more better in quality. To Henri, it honestly looked like a simple child's stick figure art; simply designed and without much imagination. "Well, of course you're tired. You chased me halfway across the Metro, madame. Be honest, did I steal your heart too?" The man cooed, his voice velvety and obviously very accustomed to saying all the right things to swoon a woman or get himself out of trouble. However, he did just chuckle. After all, Evelynn was here and didn't seem to take much to his advances, probably thinking that he was attempting to lower their defenses. "Make yourselves at home, for the moment. I'm sure my captors might not feel the most comfortable in a den of thieves, though I assure you we have our honor.

They were then formally introduced. Since Evelynn was the first to speak, he slowly walked over to the military officer as he pressed himself off the desk. The man gently took one of her hands and knelt before her, pecking the top of her hand. When those red eyes came up, they met her's with soft hues. Despite those rather devilish looking eyes. "Je suis très heureux de faire votre connaissance." Whenever he spoke French, it seemed to just roll of his tongue with the perfect amount of ease. Like honey just poured past his lips. "I'm pleased to meet you, Madame Delacroix." Then, he walked over to Lucia and did the same, though without kneeling down since she plopped herself upon the table. But he did give her a bit of a wink. "The same goes to you, Madame Belarose. You both have lovely names, has anyone told you that?"

Ah, but down to business. When Evelynn explained what she needed, the smile upon his lips never left him, and he just nodded to all her requests. "Oui, oui." He hummed to himself as he began to walk over to a chest. It opened after a rusty latch came undone, and from there he pulled out some garbs and set them on his desk. In addition, there were far more comfortable boots for the woman to wear as well. "Madame Lucia, you'll find those very comfortable. Soft as silk, but tough as nails. A very special material that I fashioned together with some rare materials gathered around the settlements. As for a weapon... merde, where was it? I believe... ah, oui! Here it is!" He sounded rather excited as he came to a closed locker, unlocking the lock with a key from his desk drawer. From there the doors flung open with a loud clang, but from within lay a vast assortment of weapons. There was a belt of throwing knives, different kinds of blades and rapiers, a large mace, and even a rifle. However, what he pulled out made him grunt a bit. "Come on, come on...!" Suddenly, he stumbled backwards, chuckling to himself with a small pant as he hefted the large weapon upon the desk between him and the two women. When Lucia looked over, Henri had a pleased grin upon his face.

"Her name is Aegis. I smithed her myself." He said rather proudly. The massive two-handed blade looked of rather superb quality, the steel perfectly straight and its edge sharper than anything EHS might have had. The grip was wrapped with great care and precision, and the fabric didn't appear to even have a point where it could be loosened, thus she had no fear of a pesky handle bothering her. But the most curious thought was a set of intricate runes etched into the base of the blade near the hilt. "Aegis is a lovely blade, but those runes were blessed by a traveling nomad priest. He told me that not only would this blade purge the wicked, but protect the innocent. I myself don't have the strength to constantly tote this beauty around, but perhaps you might find it to your liking, Madame Lucia?" He gave a knowing smile to the Demon Hybrid. Of course she would. It seemed to pulse in her presence, just missed by the man as he then looked over to Evelynn. He looked over to her sword, then her firearm. A soft chuckle left him.

The man walked over to another chest, rummaging through it, the soft jingling of metallic shells ringing in the air. "I haven't seen a piece like that since I ran into a group of high strung grunts near the EHS, Madame Evelynn. It looks pretty standard, but that's what an untrained eye would see." He told her, looking over his shoulder before he pulled out a box of ammunition. "This should be more than plenty. I'll be generous to a pretty face." Henri winked at her playfully before rummaging through the chest again to make sure there weren't any shells that fell out or something. Though, the box did feel rather full. "Mmn, oui. That gun looks customized. No doubt for yourself, an officer of higher ranked. Custom-tailored for ease of use, comfortable grip, sights zeroed in for perfect aim. And of course, another special little feature." Henri had rested back against the table once more and nodded to the woman to get her attention. "Catch." He suddenly tossed an actual spending Shell to Evelynn, and once she caught it, he nodded then to her firearm. "Believe it or not, you can fire actual Shells from it. I suppose in a dire situation, but... that's like wasting money. Literally."

His expression turned a bit pensive though as he pursed his lips before sighing a bit in disappointment. "Now though, about the rations and first aid... I'm afraid I can't part with that, even though I do want to help." Looking between them, he just gave a shrug while rubbing the back of his neck. "Our guild is low on supplies, both of which you just requested. We'll make due, but just barely. Surely you understand?" He asked them politely as he rested his hand upon the wooden surface on the desk. But that was when the Vagabond gently brushed against the revolver he just stole. Of course! How could he forget? His client was waiting for this item and seemed rather impatient with waiting. So a smile returned to his lips, looking to Lucia and then Evelynn.

"Well, perhaps if I ask one more favor of you, we might be able to let you have at least a week's worth. For both of you." He raised his eyebrows expectantly, wondering if they were ready to press their luck for more. Not to mention that despite how well outfitted they were, rations and first aid were rather important...

Evelynn rolled her eyes as Henri took her hand and kissed it. He was obviously French, and he would be able to tell that Evelynn also had French blood running through her veins from her last name. She could understand his thick accent as well and any words he did not say in the English tongue. Then he made his way over to Lucia and did the same thing. She just gave him a smile, a rather girlish one opposed to the wild grins that showed off her teeth. That girl was just too easy. But Evelynn would not let down her guard no matter how polite he seemed. She let out an audible sigh as he complimented their names. He was really laying it on thick.

Though finally he kept up his end of the bargain. The girls looked at him with curious eyes as he went through his chest. When he pulled out an outfit for Lucia along with some better looking boots, she gasped and then jumped on her feet, gladly taking them. They were exactly her style, a short skirt and a tank top with a half jacket. She couldn't wait to get changed. Though when he mentioned having a weapon for her, she looked at him with a sort of excited, giddy expression. The way he struggled when he took it out made Lucia even more excited. It must have been big, big and heavy. Was it a hammer? Or something else like an ax? Her question would soon be answered as he completely pulled it out, and she just gazed upon it.

"Fuck that thing is beautiful..." She told him as he set it down on the table. She immediately took it with her hand and then lifted it up effortlessly. "Oh wow, it feels good! Look at this, Evelynn! I can kill an entire fucking army of demons with this!"

"You could, if you actually knew how to use it." Evelynn responded passively. Lucia had no training at all in sword play or anything really. She was a blank slate, with only instinct as her guide. Though the sword was quite impressive. Being that obviously had some skill with crafting and smithing, Evelynn had to wonder why he had to turn into a thief with skills like that. Lucia just hissed at Evelynn and continued to swing the thing around as Henri went through more of his belongings.

"Whatever, how hard is it to swing a blade? I don't need technique. I have skill." She grinned and then placed the sword back on the table. She'd need to find a proper way to carry that on her back. Evelynn just sighed, wondering if Lucia had lost a few brain cells when she underwent her procedure. She listened to the Frenchman speak about her weapon. The fact that he could spot out the core customization on her gun had truly surprised her. She kept discovering more and more talents this man had. He had also been near the settlement too, which wasn't that far away from the Metro. It was an odd thought knowing that most of these people knew of EHS and probably dreamed about living safely there.

When Henri returned with some ammunition in a box, she accepted it with thanks and then placed it directly in the pack that was strapped to her waist. It was quite full, which would be enough to last her for a while. Evelynn was a careful shot. She knew that ammunition was limited and precious and when she aimed, she aimed to kill. Otherwise she would just use her blade. She held out her hand as he tossed her a shell. She vaguely remembered that she could fire these types of bullets, but he was right. That was wasting money.

When he told them he could not spare anymore supplies, Evelynn was a bit disappointed, but to be honest he had given them more than enough already. Still. She had to figure out where they were going to get food. She had taken enough for herself when she left, but Lucia was another mouth to feed and it wouldn't last long. "It's fine. I will not take more than you can give." She told him, though suddenly he seemed to have a revelation. Another favor? For food? Evelynn had little choice. She looked towards Lucia, who just shrugged. "As long as the favor doesn't involve me hurting innocents, you have my attention."

Lucia happily and casually pulled up her gown and removed it from her body. She was only in her underwear, as she had no bra on. Her breasts were large and full, an excellent sight to behold. Unless you were Evelynn. Her face became bright red. "L-Lucia!" She cried out, though the woman paid her no mind as she pulled on the skirt. "At least put the shirt on first! Have you no respect for your body?!"

"I love my body. I don't care who sees it. I was a lab rat for months, I didn't have any shame when they stripped me naked." Lucia told her as she put on her boots. It seemed like she was saving the shirt for last.

Lucia took a great liking to her present, and it seemed Evelynn was rather grateful. The Demon Hybrid, and honestly many Demon Hybrids, were the type to wield the heaviest weapons and deal the most damage. That he had seen, at least. Bio-soldiers typically held a great deal of military expertise, and based upon Evelynn's rather proud form, she only had a greater deal of it. Pair these two up together, and they were indeed a duo that could take on the world and all its problems. At least, for a bit. There were just certain things one couldn't do or be good at it. That was why there was a team, and thus the Thieves' Guild embodied that idea. Many of the members here had varying tools and skills that made them valuable, and no member was over the other, minus the Vagabond himself as he acted as a leader and supporter of their own pursuits. Talk about a lovely after school program.

The notion that he would want to hurt innocents made him appalled. Well, not really. As cruel as it may sound, the score was the bigger prize. He wasn't completely heartless, however. Henri would settle with less death, if it could be avoided. Though there was a reason why he was even mentioning this to begin with. "Hurting innocents? No. I don't plan on such a thing at all. It would be absolutely despicable." Henri picked up the revolver and turned it over in his palm. It truly was a work of art, the design an even greater creation that he could ever dream off. And it just felt perfect in his hands. Like not a single ounce of metal or wood was out of place. "Though, we may have to hurt some people. If you know anything about Black Market deals, well they don't always go as planned. I can only hope that I'm wrong about this one, no?" He told her as he set the piece down once more. He brushed his hands off and tucked them into his pockets as he went on.

"Oui, you heard right, madame. We will be simply handing off this little trinket for a hefty sum of Shells. A very hefty sum. Now the drop off is very simple. We'll meet at the church at midnight tonight, our supplier a rather stout fellow with a couple bodyguards. You may think, well what's the issue? Simple hand off, correct? I like to err on the side of caution, ladies. So forgive me if this man humbly asks for your assistance in the manner. You wouldn't turn down a pretty face, Madame Lucia?" Henri seemed to direct most of his begging or requesting to Lucia, who seemed the most receptive of his advances or charm. Had he tried Evelynn, he would probably have a better chance at swimming through lava and getting out alive. "Well, what do-"

Suddenly, when facing her, he simply stared at her a bit wide-eyed, seeing near complete nakedness. He simply chuckled lightly and rubbed his cheeks and jaw. "Oui, Madame Evelynn. Please do not obstruct her for being proud of her body." The Vagabond couldn't help but chuckle and sigh, gazing at her breasts unashamedly. Lucia carried them well and proud. "Oh Madame Lucia, if I could show you how much I love your body." The man flirted suggestively as he grinned to her, biting his bottom lip.

However a quick shout in the next room caught his attention. With a roll of his eyes, the man wore a disappointed look. He gave one final look at Lucia's shirtless form before managing to tear his eyes away. "It's like I've lost a part of my soul..." Henri spoke dramatically, looking to Evelynn as he walked towards the center room outside. "Forgive me, I'll be a moment. I believe it's one of my scouts telling me about where we will be meeting our portly friend later this evening. Please, relax. There's a jug of water on my desk." Henri offered to them, giving a polite smile and bow of the head before he disappeared behind those curtains. Though suddenly, his head popped back in again to gaze at Lucia once more, biting at his knuckles. "(Hey Louise, if you could see the tits on that woman?! I'm in love...!)" His voice filtered into the room in French, something that Evelynn would no doubt pick up on perfectly, but Henri had the thought in mind that neither of them would. Maybe he was at least half right...

Evelynn gave Henri a glare when he shamelessly stared at Lucia's breasts. "Do not tell me something like that when you are so obviously enjoying the view." She growled as Lucia winked at Henri and took her sweet time getting dressed. It was clear she enjoyed his attention. Even more than that, she seemed to be getting turned on by his attention. "Exhibitionist." Evelynn accused, but she was outnumbered and that automatically made her wrong. When Henri left, Lucia finally put on her shirt, smiling proudly at Evelynn. Though, Henri's words were as loud as day to the soldier and she just glared after him. "Pig." That one word was directed at Henri, even though he surely would not hear it.

"There is no need to be jealous. Some guys like them smaller. They're cute that way." Lucia teased, which caused Evelynn's face to go completely red as she wrapped her arms around herself to hide her chest. She wasn't smaller. Evelynn had a perfect size bust, in her opinion. It was Lucia who was just the bigger one!

"Ugh! You have absolutely no manners at all! I'm not jealous, I am concerned. Don't you care that he just stared at your chest for a good minute? I also just heard him tell his friend about how great your..." Evelynn paused, not being one for cursing. "Breasts are!" Lucia just shrugged as she put on her jacket and then went to retrieve the jug of water.

"That means he likes them. I don't see a problem with that. You're acting like I let him fondle my chest and suck on my nipples or something. Though to be honest, that sounds kinda good right now. It's been ages since the last time I had sex..." She looked over at the uptight soldier, who was staring at her in disbelief. "Oh come on, as if I'm the only woman in the world who likes sex. When was the last time you loosened the hell up and let a man give you a good fucking?"

"Stop it. I can't listen to this vulgarity any longer. As far as helping him deliver that stolen item, we have no choice but to do it. Even though I don't feel right about it, if we go out there without food or water we will regret it." Evelynn watched as Lucia took long gulps out of the jug, and once she lowered it from her lips she sighed in satisfaction, then closed it and threw it to Evelynn. Of course, she caught it and then looked at it closely. "Did you taste any trace amounts of chemicals in this? It might be spiked." She was completely serious, but yet Lucia cackled as if she had told the funniest joke in the world.

"You're just the Princess of Paranoia, aint'cha? No, the water is fine. So drink it...I haven't seen you drink anything since we left. You may be a half cyborg freak, but you're still human and need to sustain yourself like all humans do." She informed her. Evelynn just stared at the jug and sighed. This woman was..just too much. She drank a little water and then placed it on the table. When Henri came back, Evelynn was the first to approach him.

"Henri," She began slowly as she put her hands behind her back, which made her appear even more stiffer than usual. "(Lucia and I will help you, however, you really should consider toning it down. I know what you are, you are a pig trying to pass for a gentlemen. Men are all the same. You may be able to fool Lucia, but you cannot fool me)." She spoke in perfect french, though she did have more of a western accent really. English had been her first language.

"What did she say about me?!" Lucia demanded after hearing her name mentioned twice.

The image of Lucia's breasts were forever imprinted in his mind, and boy was it the most wonderful set of tits that he ever saw. There were actually moments where the man was too lost in thought that Louise had to repeat himself several times. Eventually, they managed to get things done and the ball rolling along. Henri learned that they would be meeting in a rather secluded part of the Western Markets, that section of Metro already a pretty shady area to begin with. The Western markets was also typically where most black market deals went, and the criminal activity there got so thick that even Metro patrols tended to avoid the area. A tad bit overwhelming at times even for the Vagabond himself. However, in a heist this large, Henri was ready to go anywhere to pawn off this piece.

When the man returned, parting the folds of the curtain, he gave a playful pout when he noticed Lucia was dressed completely. However, that didn't seem to sit well with Evelynn, who approached him and appeared even more uptight. Jeez, what got into her so suddenly? With a polite smile, Henri placed his hands upon his hips and awaited her words. Though, it came as a surprise when Evelynn spoke to him in French. And spot on! The smile actually shifted into a rather pleasant one. Minus a small handful of Thieves' Guild members, no one else he knew of spoke fluent French, and even fewer in outside of Metro did. He even temporarily forgot what she was scolding him on. "(Well, what a surprise! Madame Evelynn, this quite exciting. I don't get many French speakers, so forgive me if I'm over excited. Hah!" The man replied jovially. The scolding just flew completely over his head.

"Ah, Madame Lucia, she merely mentioned that while I'm completely head over heels with how gorgeous of a woman you are, I need to focus on the task at hand." He grinned playfully at Evelynn before chuckling with Lucia. "Though, do stuff like that, and I'll find it very hard to concentrate." Walking over to the Demon Hybrid, he nudged her gently before clearing his throat, facing both of them now as he grabbed his cloak. "Now then, you both have your supplies. At least half of what you've requested, but the other half shall come right after this. My men will be keeping a close perimeter around us to avoid any fishy business, if you will. You two are much more powerful, and I rather enjoy the company of two beautiful women. You'll accompany me." Henri went over to the desk and retrieved the revolver, soon returning to Evelynn and handing it to her with a smile. "If you have concerns or question my loyalty, this is the sole reason why we're going. And the sole reason why you're still stuck here." He mentioned, looking at her seriously, though that smile never left his lips.

When it was time to leave, a small band of men followed behind them, Henri leading the pack towards the Western Markets. And while the Western Markets weren't run down as the area around the Theives' Guild, it sure made the latter seem like home. One particular item of note was that the place was completely menacing. It was as if one were just waiting to have their Shells taken. Burly men, tattooed and no doubt a type of criminal, watched the group move. It worsened when the men setting up vantage points split off and left the two women and the Vagabond alone. Either of them would feel the lusty stares or evil grins from the hardened criminals around them. Even the women looked threatening, armed to teeth or well armed with the latest firepower. Thankfully, they spent merely a few minutes in the open streets before they were traversing down a short alley, coming to a wide, circular back area.

"He will arrive shortly." The Vagabond spoke with his hood covering his face. His voice was hushed as they could hear the faint workings of the Western Markets. Everything from haggling and bartering, to knives clashing or men shouting in anger. They could hear a window crash, and over to the side, a cat knocked over a pile of trash, scaring it. What seemed like an eternity due to such a stressful area and atmosphere, they could see a short, rather plump looking aristocrat followed by two large, cloaked figures, much larger than any bodyguards that Henri was familiar with. Well, he sure did feel glad that he at least had Evelynn and Lucia. They sure looked like a bunch of brutes. "The guest of honor arrives..."

Ugh! What was wrong with this man? She had just called him a pig and he just complimented her on speaking French...Evelynn could not believe the gall of this man. Did he not take her seriously or something? She could easily crush him if she wanted to. Not that she did, Evelynn would never use her power against normal humans. She wanted to save her race, not cut them down. Still...he was really irritating her. Lucia...she was enabling him too. These two were toxic together and she couldn't wait to hurry up and do this mission so they could get out of here and start there real journey.

"Hmm...well I can't not believe a face like that." Lucia told him after he did a translation of their brief exchange. "Seriously though, don't start speaking in French and leaving me out of the conversation. I'll feel left out." Lucia smiled at him when he approached her and nudged at her. She saw Evelynn roll her eyes once more. Oh, that woman was so jealous. Lucia didn't know why either. She didn't seem interested in men at all. Ooh. What if she was jealous of Henri? Did Evelynn swing that way? If so, Lucia would have to turn her down. She just liked cock too much.

Evelynn's eyes were right on Henri when he picked up that gun. Though she relaxed when he handed it to her. Well, that was enough to make her trust him. A good call on his part. She wondered what was so special about this gun though, that they needed to hire a thief to steal it for them. Why was a gun in a church anyway? Evelynn didn't say much, she only waited when it was time to leave. Lucia on the other hand proceeded to flirt more with Henri until it was time to go after getting a harness for that big sword of hers.

Walking into the western market was quite the experience for Evelynn. Never in her life had she seen so many hooligans gathered in one place. Lucia saw someone staring at her and was about to start a fight, but Evelynn stopped her when she sensed that she was getting upset. It wasn't the time, and if they could come in and out of here without starting a fight, Evelynn would have preferred that. She didn't even know humans still fought among each other until now. They were looking at both Lucia and her like they were pieces of meat, and looking at the women in this district, they had a good reason. By all technicality neither of them looked like they were capable of fighting, but their weapons were a dead give away that they weren't just pretty faces.

The wait was a long one. Not only was Evelynn tense because of everything going on around them, Lucia seemed extremely jittery as well, jumping at every loud noise. She didn't look scared, but rather irritated. Finally, they heard Henri speak, and they both spotted the man who he was talking about...yeah he fit the description. Evelynn retrieved the gun from off her person, and she looked at Henri, knowing he was still injured from earlier. "I'll give it to them." She told him as she started walking over to the portly man and his goons. Slowly. Cautiously. If they didn't want her too close, she'd stop where she stood. After all, they didn't even know who she was, or her intentions.

They were jittery, antsy. Henri could tell that. Were they used to a world like this? Of shady dealings? Where one wasn't even sure what they would turn to around the corner? He doubted it. The way their bodies seemed so stiff and ready to move at any sound they heard? It made the man give a somewhat small chuckle to himself, sighing softly before their target arrived. Indeed, the guest of honor. Mainly because this gentleman was going to pay him a hefty sum of gold for the revolver that he went through hell to get. It definitely did not phase him that he stole from the church. A refuge, a sanctuary, a place of worship and hope. It could be the ultimate dishonor, a true staple of his character that he didn't care. It was just for the money. And quite frankly? It was. Shells were needed like the air in one's lungs, clean water, and fresh food. Because Shell bought those. Even the air, yes. How? Henri wasn't sure, but somehow it just seemed to be. It just felt like it.

When Evelyn spoke, her gaze was met with his own. "Mada-" But she began walking, and the men themselves approached, the lot of them. "Evelynn." His voice came quickly as he grasped her wrist to stop her. Something didn't feel off. Usually, Henri didn't let these things hinder him from getting some Shells, but... this time felt different. "Excuse me, my wonderful, oh so generous client." He stepped forward a bit, between Evelynn and the man. This seemed to cause his goons on either side of him to reach for something upon their hips. Should Lucia or Evelynn respond in kind, Henri shouted out for everyone to relax. "Now, now. This is a business function. No guns drawn, boys." Looking over his shoulder at his two female companions, he smiled reassuringly to them. "Ladies, you too."

Turning to face his client he got a closer look at the rather plump man. He seemed displeased with this sudden interruption, pointing a rather fat finger at Henri. "What's the meaning of this? We had a deal!" His voice was rather incessant and angry, his face dotted with sweat. Judging by his appearance, he looked like he didn't fit into this back water dump that was the Western Market. His hired muscle, Henri couldn't make anything out of them other than that they were big. Very big. "You want the money up front, Vagabond? Hmph, I don't even know if that's the real deal. Allow me to inspect it." With that, one of his arms tapped one of the other men, ordering them to bring him the piece. There was a moment where the towering figure didn't do anything but stare at the revolver in Evelynn's hand. "Oh come on, get it. I'm not wasting all those Shells on something he may have forged."

Usually, Henri would be a bit defensive, though he seemed eerily calm as he hummed softly with an expectant smile. "Oh, trust me, I could have forged something more grandiose than that, monsieur." He said as finally the man he ordered walked over cautiously, one hand resting on whatever weapon he concealed. Once again, he simply stared at the revolver before slowly beginning to reach out. "Mmn, actually," Henri suddenly interjected, pressing a hand against the man's chest. His smile shifted to a grin. "Change of plans." The being in front of him faced him fully but before he nor Evelynn could do anything, Henri suddenly drove a dagger through the larger target's side. Or, at least, where he thought would be the gut.

A wail of pain was expected, but instead, a furious roar left this... this thing. Its twin then revealed himself, forest green skin covering its human body, though no hair adorned its bald head. Its muscles were bulky and massive, its biceps the size of Henri's head. They both stood a solid six and a half feet tall with some crude leather armor that looked like a pair of slim pants struggling to hold in their large thighs and calves, and a leather tanned jerkin. To top it all off, a pair of orcish tusks replaced the bottom canines and extended a full inch or so upwards from their bottom line of teeth. And the stench...

The orc before him had been partially revealed, but instead of ripping out the dagger, it immediately reared its fist back and prepared to slam it into Henri's skull. The dagger was expendable, a throwing knife more so, thus he could part with the piece. He then shoved Evelynn back and dove out of the way, grunting as he hit the ground beside her as the swing barely missed a lock of his hair. "Uh!" Quickly pulling out a pair of larger fighting daggers, he held them upside down, blades pointed to the ground as he stood up quickly, looking over to Lucia. "Incoming!" Was all he got out before the other orc was suddenly barreling forward to Lucia in a furious attempt to ram into her and send her to the ground.

"Oh you've gone and done it now, Vagabond." The fat man laughed cockily. "Chieftan Baronk will not be pleased. But then again, he'll still get his revolver, and I'll keep my Shells once we pull it from your dead corpses." The orc before Evelynn and Henri pulled out a black, crude looking scimitar and seemed to have his eyes set on the woman. After all, she was still holding that treasure that they so desperately wanted. Even Henri began to mule over why this human had wanted such an archaic relic. When it was demons behind the scenes, it just made things that much more difficult to piece together. And much more sinister...

The minute Evelynn saw the two hired muscle reach for their weapons, she took a step forward in case she needed to defend Henri. Lucia reached for her sword, until Henri told them both not to. Lucia lowered her hand, but something didn't smell right. Those two under the cloaks...they weren't human. So what were they doing with this fat little man? Lucia gritted her teeth and kept her mouth shut. She didn't want to ruin anything.

Evelynn watched every movement that the goon made as he went up to retrieve the gun. When he reached out, she wasn't expecting Henry to be the one who started a fight. Though, his instinct to not trust this man was understandable. Still, now she had to fight. She shoved the Revolver in the back of her pants, and before she could do anything else, she looked up and saw something shocking. A demon. With this human? Henri shoved her back to avoid getting punched by the orc while she was surprised. If it was a human punch she could easily take it, but these things had strength to them. Though usually that mean they were slow. Immediately she got to her feet with her sword drawn. She was positive she did not need her gun for this. "I don't know what you want this relic for, but if you are working with demons than it can mean nothing good! Lucia, don't hold back!" As if Evelynn had given a guard dog an order, Lucia immediately reacted and pulled out her new sword.

"Finally! My first demon treat! I look forward to fighting with you!" As the orc charged at her, she merely jumped high in the air and he slipped right under her. Then she landed and immediately launched herself at the creature. The first thing she did was swing her sword down, and before the orc knew it his back was now split open. Not a lethal wound, but one that would hurt like hell. "Hmph, I knew there was nothing to sword play!"

Evelynn looked back at Lucia for a split second as her own opponent started striking at her. It was probably surprised that she could hold her own despite it's strength. She didn't seem to be struggling whenever their blades clash. "Lucia! Don't wait too long, demons can heal themselves over time, remember?!" She called out to her. Hopefully Lucia would be able to get a lethal blow in. Though right now Evelynn needed to worry about herself since she was the person that was currently being targeted.

Lucia looked back at Evelynn confused, but when she heard the demon grunt and growl in pain, a heavy steam began to emit from his back as the wound slowly started closing. "Fuck!" Lucia cried out in frustration before she went for the kill. Though she really had no form, and as such she had multiple openings. The orc took full advantage of that and hit her dead on, launching her to the side. Lucia could be heard crying out as she got hit and tumbled to the ground. She had been hit so hard she dropped the sword she was carrying, and the orc picked it up and grinned menacingly. His gaze went to Evelynn and Henri, and he started charging.

"Lucia...!" Evelynn pulled out her gun as she continued to block the half cloaked demon in front of her. It was surprised that she could match it's strength with her only wielding the sword one handed. Evelynn aimed her gun towards the orc heading straight for her, but she was too distracted to shoot. She couldn't waste any bullets, it had to be a clear shot! Suddenly the orc in front of her raised up both of his arms as he took his blade. He was going to put all of his strength into this. She couldn't fight both opponents like this! What's more, she worried for Lucia. Before the second orc got close enough to Evelynn...despite being really close, suddenly a hand exploded from his chest and he stopped in the middle of his tracks.

"Still here, asshole!" Lucia shouted before withdrawing her hand and letting it drop dead to the ground. Evelynn then clashed blades once more with her main opponent, though since she was only using one hand it put a major strain on her arm, almost breaking it.

"Nnngh!" Evelynn quickly moved her other arm, aiming the gun at its head and shooting it at point blank range. It stood there for a moment, but then collapsed and fell to the ground. Evelynn couldn't feel her other arm, but she didn't need it right now. She aimed her gun at the portly human man as Lucia walked up and joined her with a grin on her face.

Seeing the girls move as they did, the way they preformed, he had to say that he was impressed. Evelynn had the precision and expertise to not only fight in combat, but lead in combat as well. And of course he realized her officer's status back at the Guild. Evelynn must have been awfully high up with such skills, even for a Bio-solider. Then there was Lucia. While one may have seen and observed a lack of form and technique, Henri saw a wild, unpredictable nature that could throw an opponent off. In battle, that was valuable. He often read in his spare time, and more likely than not, the man buried his nose in a philosophy book. While he couldn't recall the philosopher, the Vagabond did recall that a warrior's spirit should be able to change on the fly. Lucia exhibited that same, wild card spirit. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't interested in seeing where this kind of combat would lead the Demon Hybrid.

And for a moment, it felt like he was put on the sideline, even with the conflict they seemed to have when the orcs appeared to have a slight upper hand. Instead though, the women easily finished their prey. It appeared though that Evelynn sustained some kind of injury, hearing her pained grunt and taking note of her now rather tired arm that held her own sword. With their foes bested, Henri focused his attention back on the once client he was dealing business with. In the sudden turn around of events, the aristocrat was cowering and crawling backwards on the ground, his plump face dirty and covered in sweat as he held up his hands. "P-Please, mercy! Spare me! You wouldn't harm another human, w-would you?!" He groveled pitifully, though he cried out in fear as Henri seized him by the collar, staring into his eyes.

"Monsieur, I don't do business with demons. Not the appropriate target audience, if you catch my drift." A dagger was dragged along the man's neck slowly, threatening to pierce the rolls of flesh and end his sorry life as he sobbed. Out in the distance, there were gunshots. The Thieves' Guild men left with firearms, and based on how far the discharges sounded, it had to be them. Which only meant more trouble, and possibly, more orcs. Thus, the Vagabond pressed harder against the aristocrat's throat, his smile becoming a bit more devious. "You have a lot of explaining to do, and not a lot of time, monsieur. I suggest you start now." He said with venomous distaste, itching for a good reason to slit the man's throat.

It only took a split second after an orc roar in the distance for him to spill the beans. "C-Chieftan Baronk! The war chief of the Maw Orc Raiders!" He cried, sniveling pathetically as he gladly said everything that he knew. "He was going to k-kill me! S-Said I was useful when he learned I was coming to Metro. He wanted s-something, I didn't have it, but heard about it. The revolver, i-it's important. Told me to spend all my Shells on it if I had to, but the damned priest w-wouldn't let it g-go. So I hired you." He pointed to Henri, holding up his hands in defense shortly afterwards, begging and speaking on. "Please, I swear! I don't know what it's for or what it is! I swear!" He shouted over and over again. The aristocrat even looked to Evelynn and Lucia, groveling to them as well. "Don't let him kill me! Please don-" Henri then struck him against the temple, strong enough to knock him out and leave a rather dark, red bruise after meeting the blunt end of the pummel of one of his daggers. From there, he stood and brushed himself off, sighing with a shrug of his shoulders.

"That's a good night for him. Madame Evelynn, Madame Lucia, excellent work. Bon travail!" With a rather pleased smile, he nodded to them both, rather a congratulatory bow of the head to grant them their dues. However, they were far from out of the heat. At most, they were just making their way out of the center of the frying pan. "Clearly, we're not done here. I haven't forgotten your stipulations, but it would appear that the game has changed a bit, no?" Henri wore that grin again, chuckling lightly as he spun his daggers on his index finger. At closer inspection, they appeared to be knuckle knives with finger holes and grips to make sure he didn't lose them. Both grips were black with the wrappings somewhat worn, showing a great deal a use. One even had the wrappings slightly undone at the pummel. But the most curious were the blades, their shimmer and shine underneath any light almost radiant. It wasn't any ordinary metal, but instead silver. And while orcs weren't truly weakened by the precious metal, anything going through one's stomach unwillingly and from the outside still hurt like a bitch.

Henri looked around them, especially up high as the gunshots ceased, but the orc roars continued. For once, his grin faded as he bit his bottom lip angrily. "Boys..." He muttered lightly, fingers squeezing hard against the knives. The thirst for revenge was strong, but if he wanted to wake up the next morning, they would have to leave. Now. "We're outnumbered now. We need to leave, come!" He knelt down against the aristocrat's body, the plump man appearing to have a potion pouch on him. They were small vials, but seeing that Evelynn was a bit hurt, it would help somewhat. And lucky for her, there was one left. "(Evelynn, drink, quickly.)" Henri's voice sounded a bit more rushed, and thus he didn't even realize he was speaking French. Probably to Lucia's dismay, but now wasn't the time to speak logistics. Surviving was a tad bit more important.

"There's a sewer entrance to the Guild, and I believe a manhole cover should be nearby. I've been here a few times when I wanted to ditch the patrols." The Vagabond explained himself as he began the dash through the streets. Fate would have it that even though the criminals here in the Western Market followed their own law and code, everyone hated demons. But these orcs were more trouble than one would suspect. They had a bit more time bought for them, but they had to vanish quickly still. Henri ducked and weaved through the streets and alleys, taking at most a few minutes before they came to a manhole cover. He lifted it and immediately reeled at the smell. "Ugh, hope you can hold your breath." He muttered before waving them in. It was the most gentlemanly thing to do, after all. Even in times of danger!

He'd soon join them below, covering their exit as he landed in a puddle with an audible splash, making a pack of racks scatter about and flee from the three. He immediately lit a match, looking between the two. "Well, can either of you see in the dark?" The man hummed curiously, trying to peer through the darkness. They just needed to find the Thieves' Guild symbol, something he etched along the walls to help himself and other members find their way back. It was a hooded man, grinning while holding up a single Shell. That would guide them in the right direction.

Ugh. So now he was pulling the human card after they killed his demon body guards? Evelyn hated that, but it was to be expected from weak cowards like him. She placed her main gun back in it's holster and with a pained expression, she sheathed her sword with her bad arm. That was stupid, though she hadn't expect Lucia to recover so quickly. It was not her first time fighting with a hybrid, but...well Lucia wasn't trained like the ones she had fought with. For a moment, Evelynn forgot that and allowed her to take on an enemy without her help. If something had really happened to Lucia, she'd feel responsible for her. Because of how incompatible her human cells were, there was a chance that Lucia might have been 'defective' and weaker as opposed to the others. Though that didn't seem to be the case.

"Ugh! What a chicken shit." Lucia growled as she picked up her sword from the ground and noticed that her entire arm was covered in demon blood. She made a face and then strapped the sword to her back once more as Henri began to further interrogate this man. Both Evelynn and Lucia could hear the sounds of gun fire and fighting. More demons were in the city...both of them wanted to fight, too. Though Evelynn just stared at her, and Lucia knew that meant for her to stay. As much as Evelynn wanted to help, she had a feeling this gun was important. Too important for her to risk it falling into the wrong hands, if she should fall. They needed more intelligence to go about fighting the demons the right way. She glared at the man as he asked them to protect him. Though Henri rightfully knocked him out with the hilt of one of his daggers.

"Ugh, thank you. He was getting annoying, and I'm already annoyed that we aren't out there, helping those poor people!" Lucia growled just as Henri came up to them. Evelynn quietly listened to his words before nodding. The situation had changed, and now it was even more complicated. Whatever this weapon was...it attracted danger. Suddenly, there was silence. The fight seemed to be over. However, the silence was followed up with the roar of the orcs. Lucia growled, knowing all to well what this meant. "Evelynn..." She began through gritted teeth.

Once again, the ex soldier just shook her head. They needed to run, not charge in blindly. She walked towards Henri as he leaned over the portly, sweaty, passed out man. Lucia just followed though it was clear she was extremely angry. As Henri spoke to her in french, she took the vial from him and unplugged it, downing the contents. Now the throbbing pain in her arm had stopped...and the two girls followed Henri, keeping up with him easily. Crawling through the sewers didn't exactly sound fun, but then again none of this was. This was no longer a game, but the reality of what the surface humans had to go through. "Ugh! I want to go back and fight!" Lucia shouted as they finally got to a manhole to enter through.

"Listen to Henri. We were hired by him and will do whatever he thinks is best. I know you don't like it, Lucia. But those were his men." Evelynn said as she jumped down first. Ugh...this smelled worse than the breath of that orc she fought. It was dark, though her artificial eye could see somewhat better than her human one.

"Gah! My nose!" Lucia screamed as soon as she slipped into the sewer. "I can't..this is disgusting, I..I'm gonna throw up!" She whined as Henri joined them. Evelynn turned to the woman and sighed. Her sense of smell was apparently extremely sensitive. Unfortunately she'd have to just breathe through her mouth. "Ugh...I can see fine....but it's just...I don't feel so good."

"Lucia, I know it's hard but you have to just grit your teeth and bare it. I can only mostly see the heat signatures and faint outlines here and there, even with my artificial eye. So you have to lead us if Henri can't." Evelynn lectured. "Just breathe through your mouth."

"Easy for you to say, you damn bio-freak! I don't wanna open my mouth down here and breathe this putrid air! Ugh..." Lucia's eyes began to wander and she slowly looked around. "Graffiti." She notated when she saw the symbol of Henri's guild.

Fight. Henri sure as hell wanted the same, thinking about each one of his comrades that had no doubt fallen to some beastly, putrid orc that got a buzz from splitting open a human skull and watching brain matter splatter on the floor or walls. It infuriated him. Pulled at his heart as he had made the decision to flee. Henri was no stranger to battling a demon, having felled a handful in his time as the Vagabond or traveling between settlements within the Devil's Maw. They were cruel and sinister, merciless and ready to devour not only a human's soul, but their flesh as well. Such sights were grotesque and gruesome, no matter how many times he witnessed freshly killed corpses being devoured by the hungry demons in the wastelands around. To think that he was letting those brutes just tear away at his friends, and the only family he ever knew, it made Henri's blood boil.

When he heard Lucia and Evelynn speak, he sighed lightly and gave them a reassuring smile. There was something odd about Henri, and it was that he seemed to always grin or smile. If he was in thought, he would give a rather contemplative kind of grin. He never wore a frown or pensive glare. His reasons were his own. "Now, ladies, please." A hand came upon one shoulder of both women with a gentle squeeze to get their attention. "We get through this, and we're home free. Considering what's going on, well, you may win out on this little deal, no?" Henri didn't seem to want to dwell on the terms of their agreement right now, which was odd considering he would be one to speak or mention it all the time. Instead, he walked along with them, making sure to keep close by them.

The symbol Lucia found was exactly what they were looking for, leading them in the right direction. "Excellent, follow that mark. We'll wind up home free in no time." He explained to her. Their pace though would be a bit variable. There were often times where they could walk briskly or even break into a light sprint. Then there were others where the path was slippery or slick. Sometimes they'd have to hop over from one side of the tunnel to the other due to their current path crumbling away. Not to mention that they just barely underneath the streets. They actually passed beneath gratings in a street, watching as the Western Market criminals shout and call for everyone to regroup. Henri briefly wondered what the rest of Metro looked like right now. Was it just as chaotic?

Eventually, their path came to an end, but a single column of light shined through a single hole in the ceiling of the tunnel. "Allow me." Henri told them as he went up ahead, peeking through the peephole. He listened for a moment, even holding his breath to keep the noise to a minimum. The rushing water already made it worse. Yet, he didn't hear a thing. To some, that was a good sign. To Henri, the leader of the Theives' Guild, that was bad news. Without a moment to lose, he began working the secret door open, flinging it open and quickly climbing up. The latch that swung inward to the guild slammed loudly against the ground, and the Vagabond was in the room in a heartbeat. Eveylnn and Lucia would surely follow, and what they saw was distressing...

Located now in the common room where previously most of the members of the Thieves' Guild were working and meeting, it was as if a tornado swept through. Documents were scattered about the place with books torn or overturned, a bookcase even completely thrown on to the floor where part of its shelves shattered against the center round table. Silverware, utensils, and other knick knacks were either in pieces, bent, or shattered. The air was fresh with blood, which could only explain the multiple and varying sizes of blood stains along the walls and floor, splatter even upon the ceiling. A particularly large pool of blood, still fresh and reflective, was near the his workshop, the room he immediately bolted too without saying a word, and once he entered, this room was not any better. Worse, there were three members of the Thieves' Guild, dead upon the cold floor with blood pooling around their bodies. Each had a slit throat whilst their hands were tied behind their backs. Henri immediately recognized one as Louise, the man he spoke with before they left. He, especially, appeared to have been tortured. A fate that the man didn't deserve whatsoever.

Henri leaned against the door frame and just stared at them, then gazed about the room with the shelves, cabinets, chests, and lockers in various states of disarray or destruction. Most of the items that were considered valuable were destroyed and in pieces. Some, particularly the weapons he forged, were stolen and missing. Several impacts against the desk and tables or walls showed beings of great strength. It had to be the orcs as well. Were they planning this from the start? Were they going to betray him and then butcher them all? At this rate, Henri feared the worst, that only he survived. That he was alone now. Again.

The Vagabond continued to remain silent, at a loss for words as he had to turn away and just look at something else. Anything else. Something reassuring or promising. He even looked to both Evelynn and Lucia. Both. His eyes seemed to seek shelter in them, but alas, the cruel reality of what was happening reminded him that not only was this truly taking place, that his guild family was now gone and murdered, but that he could not grieve or even pay them respects. Apologize or wish them a safe trip to their destination in the afterlife. A place where the heavens had not forsaken them. A place where they would truly be alive.

Henri simply made his way to a chair in the common room and just sat in it, shaking his head and rubbing his face. The Vagabond always had a plan, even if it was on the spot... he didn't have the slightest clue of what to do now, but something told him that the orcs were looking for them, considering that the rooms were completely ransacked, not a single nook or cranny left uninspected. They had something important, whatever this Chieftan Baronk was searching for. And it was the revolver. But why? Henri couldn't make heads or tails of it at all. Orcs never used guns, their brutish ancestry favoring primitive or crude weapons such as swords and lances. The only ranged weapon an orc used was a javelin, or so he at least thought. It was further perplexing, and with his current state of mind, Henri couldn't think straight or of any leads at all.

The brutal sight that was before them even made Lucia completely silent. Her blue eyes just scanned the room, looking for signs of life. Though there weren't any. If she had just...maybe got back sooner...maybe. Tears started falling down her cheeks. Lucia may have been putting on a tough act, but this really shook her up. This was the first time she had even seen human corpses, and it was a dreaded sight. Though who she felt sorry for the most was Henri. These were all people he traveled with. They were probably the only people he had.

Evelynn however, was completely composed. She studied the room, and the corpses, and deduced the orcs had been responsible for this. Tch...they didn't have to kill all these people, but that was just demons were. They cared nothing for life, not even if it belonged to someone of their own kind. They were ruthless, evil creatures. She looked over to Henri and stared at him as he glanced towards her and Lucia. No doubt he was in shock. The situation was dire and if those demons had a good sense of smell they'd find their way back here. She knew how he felt though. She remembered seeing her first and only love die in front of her, and...

Evelynn walked over to Henri, finding him sitting down in the common area away from all the blood and bodies. She just marched right over there and picked him up from the chair..quite literally because of her strength, then let his feet rest on the ground before grabbing him and pulling him into an embrace. For once, she would feel right now. For once, she'd stop being a soldier. Just because this man needed someone...and she'd be that person right now. Nothing would bring those people back, but Evelynn would sure as hell try to get revenge. Lucia joined them as Evelynn kept Henri in her arms, not letting go. She shoved her face into his neck and just squeezed her eyes shut as she felt the tears coming...

"Henri. We won't let them die in vain. We also won't allow their killers to go unpunished. Even if I have to do it alone, I will get revenge for each and every one of them, Henri. Not right now though. First, we have to figure out where their stronghold is, and then we will use the element of surprise to wipe them out. You have my word, Henri." She finally let him go, and he'd be able to see tears streaming down her cheeks. "The reason why I left my settlement, was because I was tired of hiding when my people are dying out here. I will start my hunt with these animals and go from there. I will find a way to rid our planet of these foul creatures so this won't happen to anyone ever again." She looked away from him and sighed. "(Be strong. Don't give up. They wouldn't want you to give up.)" She whispered in what she assumed was his first language.

Lucia clenched her fists as she watched this unfold. She wanted to kill those things. She wanted to do it now.
