He nodded, accepting her wishes to allow her body to take its natural course and her desire for a pet. They ate quietly and he spoke little. "Perhaps I will take you to the dinner. I want nothing to do with Ovia. I can't stand her and certainly couldn't marry her." He said quietly. He ate several cubes of cheese and some meat before taking up a small cup of wine, which he sipped at as his daughter lay into his lap, drifting off to sleep easily. Her small nipples brushing against his chest was teasing, but h resisted touching her. He had already taken advantage of her once. He wouldn't do it again unless she was fully awake for it. He instead gently brushed her hair from her face, hand gently resting on her neck as he too relaxed.

There was so much work he should have been doing, but all he wanted was to lay here with his daughter and relax, and, perhaps, when she awoke , a little more than that.

“Lord Nero, Lord Nero. Urgent message from the Emperor he wants you right away at the palace. He is not very happy, he thinks we may go to war soon.” A messenger said as he rushed inside and handed Nero a letter. Athena woke up with a start backing up and landed off Nero’s lap. She let out a groan and pushed herself to her feet and shook her head. “Damn..” she growled and then stood straight before she turned and walked out of the room.

She let out a sigh and picked a few things into her trunk that she had forgotten to put away then she heard a knock at her door. “Athena!” a voice said and she opened it a smile splitting her face. “Nefer, oh my it’s been so long. Where have you been?” she said talking to her long-time friend. “I work for the Emperor, I came with the messenger when I heard you were taken into Nero’s house. You ran out before I could talk to you.” The Egyptian girl said.

“Come on I am kidnapping you and we are going to the palace then shopping, come on.” She said yanking Athena out of the room and down the hall and out the door. “Alright.” Athena giggled as they followed behind The Emperor’s guards towards the palace. Once inside Nefer showed her around then they got some money and headed out into the rich part of the market. “Oh father never lets me have money as much as you have.” Athena said.

“Well you see, the Emperor finds me his favourite so he spoils me. This money is from him to you. You’re going to have dinner with him tonight, the one with Ovia’s father has been cancelled.” Nefer said. “Oh I see.” Whispered Athena and she smiled softly as they went shopping. Once done they headed back to Nefer’s huge room and they changed into their new toga’s and made their way to the dining hall. Nefer plopped Athena right by the Emperor and sat down herself and began to eat.
