Grim sat quietly as the nurse went to work, his eyes watching her slightly. Then they drifted off her and to Thea for a brief moment. He hated this, that this boy, his son, was laying so weak in a bed, at the mercy of an illness that crippled him so.
Grim stood, slowly pacing one wall of the room. He so wished he could tell the child the truth. But in his respect for Thea, something he had managed to find again, he wouldn't. He didn't know how he came to respect her, after her betrayal. But perhaps he had accepted that he had some fault in causing her actions. Some. Not all. But he had come to terms with things. He wondered if she had realized that part of it was her fault as well.
Or if some repairs might be made to their relationship. Obviously not to the point it was, but making it better.
He sighed softly, moving to bend down near Thea, so the boy couldn't hear. "I need to go soon. I'll visit again tomorrow, if possible. But I need to sleep." He sighed softly, his eyes finding hers, gazing into her for a moment. His hand briefly lingered on her arm. "I'm sorry you've had to deal with this." He said simply, straightening and moving back to sit back down as the nurse turned to leave.
