Friend's username has N/A in my inbox, and it says 'unregistered'?

In my inbox where their name would normally be, it says 'N/A' as well as
'Unregistered Account'.

What does this mean? I know they didn't intend on leaving (to my knowledge) because they regularly PMed me and said that they would send a post soon. This was around two days ago, and I still don't know what it means. Any help as to what went down? I don't think they deleted their account or it was on purpose by the way they were talking.

that stuff happens too me frequently. Usually its a new user but i have no idea what is going on, i too would appreciate an explanation.

If an account is suddenly coming up as N/A in your PMs, it is because that user's account has been deleted. Deletions (typically) occur because that user requested for the account to be deleted. If that user didn't inform their partners prior to making this decision, there is nothing anyone can do about it. Thing is, they had their reasons and it is their choice as to whether or not they wish to inform anyone or not.

does this also happen with bannings or is it only if they ask for a deletion?
