Nightstalker ~ Gypsy Prisoner ~ DarknessEmbraced666

Natayla sighed softly before nodding while running her fingers through some of her hair. She became quiet for several minutes before speaking to him again. "I still want to know what it was you gave me." she said to him. "I don't like the fact that you gave me some kind of strange liquid."

The judge heard the sigh and watched her run fingers through her hair before he head those questioning words again. Taking the small vial from the kitchen drawer he placed it on the table in front of her, its main purpose was to ward off evil spirits.

Reaching out, she took the vial from the table and picked it up, opening it and sniffing its contents. "Where did you get this?" she asked softly. She knew what it was for the moment she'd taken a sniff of the liquid. She always helped make the potions and concoctions for the other gypsies.

Closing the vial again, she frowned slightly and leaned back in her seat with a soft sigh. "You should get rid of that soon then. Those are only good for so long." she advised him while looking up at him. "After a certain amount of time it either stops working or it could even become like a poison."

The judge's eyes met hers as he took the vial from her, quickly throwing that vial into the small bin before speaking. "I will get rid of the others later. Do you want to meet your friend here or in town"

She merely nodded as he threw the vial away before shrugging. "In town. He would not be comfortable here." she said simply. "After all, gypsies don't do well in stone walls." She ran her fingers through her hair and brushed it back over her shoulder. Her wrists still ached from being chaffed by the shackles that had held her all night but it didn't bother her too much.

The judge heard her words as he moved around the kitchen, opening another drawer to take out the small container. Placing it on the table in front of her. "Use some of that for your wrists. Sounds good to meet in town."

Taking the container, she looked at it before nodding and opening it, slowly taking some of the contents and gently rubbing it onto her wrists. "Thanks." she muttered before nodding at his words. Since her friends hadn't left town, they would be worried about her.

He smiled and watched her take the ointment for her wrists, moving closer he lightly touched one of her cheeks as he spoke. "Would you like a lift there or do you wish to take one of the horses"

She slowly looked up at him when he touched her cheek. "I'll take one of the horses." she said softly as she finished rubbing the ointment into her skin and she closed the jar when she was done using it and she pushed it away. Natalya was a little uncomfortable with him so close and touching her, but she didn't move away from him.

His eyes met hers before nodding at her words, moving away towards the side door that led outside he spoke. "I will go and get the most trusted mount ready for you."

She stared up into his eyes for a bit before looking away from him with a light blush as he walked towards the door and she nodded. "THank you." she whispered to him, swallowing softly before taking another drink of the juice he set before her. Once he left, she looked at the food set before her and she slowly picked up the fork and she ate some of it before standing and heading back to the room that he had locked her in the night before and she slowly put the rest of her jewelry back on, making sure the coins to her headband rested perfectly against her forehead before heading back out to wait for him.

The judge hoped that some of her uneasiness around him was going, making his way towards the stables he soon had his best horse saddled up leading it slowly back towards the house. Tethering it lightly to the front railing he smiled and gave it a light pat before speaking softly to it. In only a few minutes he was back inside and standing near the front door. "Your horse is ready and do hope you enjoy yourself out."

Natalya looked up when he entered and she nodded with a small smile. "Thank you." she whispered to him as she smoothed out her skirt and brushed her hair out of her face. The young gypsy was still wary of the judge and uneasy around him, but she was doing her best to hide it. She made her way out the door and moved over to the horse that was tethered outside, gently petting him before untying him and mounting him easily. With a soft click, she turned the horse. "I'll try to be back before dark." she called back to the man before nudging the horses sides and taking off down the road. For a person that spent all her time walking or riding in a wagon, she was an excellent rider.

The judge smiled and watched her leave outside, paying attention to how she handled the horse he took note of her words with a soft sigh as she was soon a distant figure on the horizon. Moving back inside and closing the door he paced the entry area for a good fifteen minutes before retiring to his room. Deep in thought , most of it centring around whether or not he had made the right choice to let her go. Well the horse would bring her back if she got into too much trouble unless she tried to escape, then who knows what fate may be dealt to her.

Natayla was gone for many hours, remaining in town through the lunch hours all the way through supper hours before arriving later that evening as the sun began to sink beyond the horizon. As the sunlight faded, the form of her riding the horse could be seen riding towards the house. When they reached the front of the house, she dismounted and led the horse along the trail that led to the stables where she unsaddled the horse and began brushing him out. As she did this, she softly sang to it.

The judge had left some food in the stove to keep warm for her, well that was what he had hoped for at least that she would return. As light darkness crept over the house he still had heard nothing, sighing loudly it happened the soft voice and moving across to the window he watched her leading the horse towards the stable. Not wanting to startle her the small chaff bag that had been left for the horse hung up outside its stall. The horse would lead her to it more than the other way around.

Natayla hung up the horses tack after unsaddling it and removing its bridle, hanging both up on their stand. When she was done take care of the horse and making sure it had on it's blanket and had both water and food, she grabbed the bag she brought back with her and headed up to the house. She slipped inside as quietly as she could and headed to her room where she dropped off the bag and then headed for the kitchen after removing her boots. The woman could smell the lingering scents of the food and even though she'd already eaten, her stomach growled. Smiling to herself she opened the stove and her smile grew when she saw the waiting plate. Grabbing the plate carefully, she sat down with a fork and began eating.

The judge stood quietly at the window watching her enter the stables fully before coming back out. Hearing her footsteps on the stairs he smiled but sighed on the inside. How could he get her to trust him fully he mused before walking across to the smaller and thinner door, opening it and stepping into his study area. The small light providing all the light he needed to read the manuscript that had been driving him nuts, he was still trying to finish up the last few chapters.

It didn't take the young woman to eat all the food before she cleaned up and headed back to her room. She closed the door and began to undress, slipping out of her dress and blouse which left her in her corset and the rest of her under clothes and her boots. With a sigh, she headed into the bathroom that was connected to her bedroom and began washing away the paint that was on her face. She laughed softly as she wasted away the flowers and butterflies one of the children in the gypsy caravan had painted on her cheeks.

The judge had been stressing over the finish of the manuscript for the last few months, his eyes were not seeing everything they should have as with the spare paper he was making notes and extending them out. Soon he had another three paragraphs done, if he could finish it soon he would send it away and hope to get it published. Partly life story and partly fiction, sometimes the line blurred a bit as exaggerations took over. Sighing loudly he shook his head and rubbed his eyes before glancing at the small clock.

Natayla finished cleaning away the paint, though the scrubbing made her skin turn bright red, making it look as if she'd been hit and she sighed while touching her cheek before heading back into her room where she sat down on the edge of her bed and began unlacing her shoes and she took them off, setting the boots down next to the bed. Standing again, she began working on unlacing the corset that went beneath her dress, taking a deep breath as it loosened around her and after slipping it off, she ran her hand along the marks from the boning in the corset. She moved over to the bag she brought with her and pulled out a simple night dress which she slipped on and laid down on the bed with the bag next to her, pulling out a small box and opening it, smiling as soft music filled the room and she began softly singing along.

The judge closed up the manuscript, standing to stretch his back and arms before hearing the music fill the upstairs area. Smiling he moved back to his bedroom and relaxed on his bed listening to it.

The music was the tune to an old gypsy lullaby. Natayla's mother used to sing it to her when she was a little girl. She placed the music box on the table next to her bed and she laid on her side and began singing softly while watching the small figurine in the box dance. Her voice was gentle and soothing as she sang. "Heaven's gift to me just the way you are, a new aged child from a distant star. It feels so good just to be so close to your love. You are heaven's gift to me. You are so sweet and pure just the way you are. Mama's precious jewel. Daddy's rising star. There's so much in life for you to see. And so much to be. You are Heaven's gift to me."
