All's Fair in Love and War ((Half-Demon X Yajirobe))

"He is a tough guy, if he has issues he will stay near me and I will take care of him like he was a dog, he from my lands, he has survived well during the battles so far, so I think he will be fine," he said with a smile as he looked at the red wolf. He smiled as he looked over at her, "Well these types of wolves are no common like the gray wolf or your artic wolves but they are around and yeah he is a pretty boy," he said with a smile as the wolf rested just outside of the campsite and waited for them to be ready, "Now, we just have to get going, um you can find me a tame horse to ride right?'

Natalia chuckled. "Oh, a tame horse? I thought you would like a wild one," She teased as she finished packing, she did pull out her cloak from her bag before setting the bag on her saddle as well. "Give me a moment, I need to grab Roska as well," She said with a smile. She had no problem finding an extra horse, though she wondered how well the prince would do on such a huge horse. Shrugging the thought off, she brought two horses back, one saddled. The saddled one was a huge brown and white mare, while the other was a straight black mare with a white star on her forehead. "This one is yours," She said, bringing the saddled horse to him. "Naleth is her name, and this is Roska," She said as she brought her horse over to the saddle. The black and brown horses easily towered over the demon princess, and it was a wonder that she could get on such a creature, let alone ride one. Natalia quickly saddled the horse with expert precision, and managed to pack the rest of her items properly. She then looked back at Ico to see if he needed help getting on Naleth.

Ico looked at her and nodded his head as he was sure that a calm simple horse that would be easy to ride would be best for him given the lack of experience he had riding a horse in the first place. He was sure that it wouldn't be that hard to learn if he had a calm and easy horse to learn with otherwise he wasn't sure if he would be able to pick it up at all for a bit. He walked out and followed Natalia as they went to find the horse, and felt a bit taken aback at the size of the large horse and blinked for a moment and then nodded his head as to tell her that he understood. He hoped this wasn't to hard but he looked at the horse as he tried to figure out how to get on and finally just jumped on from the back using the back of the horse as a kind of balance as he jumped just making it on and then getting on in the right way as he felt odd to be riding it but he would wait to see Natalia and would follow her lead.

Natalia watched him with an amused grin as he managed to climb onto the large horse. He seemed to gather the idea. She then turned to Roska and pulled herself up, using the stirrup as a foot stool. She then sat sidesaddle, knowing just how uncomfortable riding in a dress was. The princess then clicked at her horse and lightly tugged on the reins to guide her horse in the desired direction. "Let me know if you need help," She said with a grin.

The elf had enough pride to want to press things and learn on his own. He rode slowly getting used to it but fast enough to keep up with the pace set by Natalia which luckily for him wasn't that fast really. He was curious to see what this demon capital would be like but also what message the king would send back to his daughter. So much had to be figured out still. The war had been to long but he hoped it would be one that was in the past for good soon.

The pair had been riding for a few hours when a shrill bird's cry came in from above. Natalia glanced up and grinned, raising her left arm and giving the hawk a chance to land. She stroked his soft feathers and slipped off the backpack like carrier before setting the large bird in his cage to rest. He deserved it. The princess then opened the carrier and pulled the message out. Reading it, her smile vanished and a serious look took it's place. "My father has agreed to meet with you and discuss terms for the treaty, but it seems that orcs are moving faster now."

Ico nodded his head as he looked at Natalia taking in the information as he followed her as well as could be expected, he was slowly figuring out what it meant to ride a horse and he was of course learning pretty quickly too. He could sense a urgency to her words as he rode with her, he could tell that she was focused on the news and getting home as fast as possible. He worked at riding faster, knowing that they had a good ways to go to get to her home. Yet, he knew that it must be more troublesome, the problems facing them then he thought as he knew that her father wouldn't of agreed to it if it hadn't been so pressing.

Natalia was fairly quiet as they continued to ride through the day. She was tempted to continue through the night, wanting to return quickly, but she knew that they all needed rest. Still, the particular forest they were in was not one she would like to spend the night in. Too many bandits hid there, due to the soldiers being unable to go in further than a few feet off the path because the forest was so thick. The blonde didn't have the disguise of being the blood prince, and therefore, both her and Ico were at risk of ambush.

Ico looked ahead at Natalia, and motioned her onward, "we can sleep when we get there," he said calmly as he looked at her before letting out off some of his magic as the orbs of light flew around them creating a light up area, that also was a barrier using light magic that would block any attacks against the area that they were in, it would take his focus to keep up, but he was well trained, he could handle it, he was sure of that. He smiled as he continued to ride, he knew the importance of this moment and knew he had to get there with her as soon as humanly possible, as he said to her he could sleep when he died or when he had his mission done.

Natalia nodded though she watched him worriedly for a bit. Sighing softly, she continued on. The princess could feel eyes watching them, but none attempted to attack as they rode on through the forest. By the time they were free of the dark, dense woods, it was probably an hour before dawn, and they still had another three hours of riding before the castle would be in sight.

The trip was wearing on the prince, but he had to do this, he would push himself to his limits to get there on time, but such a effort would be respected, and would show his determination to Natalia's father as well. He knew that show of determination would be important. He rode with her, cutting out the magic only when he had to, it was draining enough on him to use so much, but he had to keep going, to much depended on finding and getting the peace approved. he saw the Castle a few hours later, and focused himself forward driven by a goal.

Natalia knew Ico was tired, but he never once asked to stop. Once the castle was in sight, she slowed momentarily to release her messenger hawk from his cage. He would be the warning that they were close. The large bird knew exactly what to do, flying quickly towards home. Natalia then turned and motioned for Ico to follow. "You won't need to use your magic now. We will be there within the hour."

IOC smiled as he knew it was close enough. He than cut out his magic power as he saw the hawk fly off. He followed closely after her over the path, it had been a true, it had been such a long drive from where they'd started. He knew a good sleep was needed after this trip, and a quick meeting with the father to get things moving with the agreement. He rode hard and kind of fast as he noticed the looks he got he ignored them and continued on.

Natalia made sure that she stayed by Ico's side. She knew that her people wouldn't try anything that way. It wasn't long before they were lead through the castle gates. The princess was exhausted, but she doubted that they'd be given much rest until the treaty was signed. She slipped off her horse and gave the reins to one of the awaiting servants. She knew they would take care of her stuff. Natalia then turned and waited for Ico to do the same.

Ico was really tired and sleep seemed such a great thing, he pushed himself up glad that he could get of the horse, he looked at her as his friend slipped into the palace gates behind him, "it is with me," he told the guards calmly as the wolf walked by his side as he walked by Natalia's side too. He tossed out a bone and let it naw on it near the enterance of the door, and then walked inside it was a pretty impressive palace, he had seen very few that were even close to its match ever.

Both Natalia and Ico were lead to the throne room, though once there, guards escorted Ico in while Natalia was told to wait. She frowned, knowing that she wouldn't know what was being said, but hoped that everything would go well.

Ico walked into the main room and sat down with the treaty in his hand, he looked at the demon and knew it was the father of Talia. He bowed his head politely as he looked at the King. "Sir, I come to end this war, it is rather meaningless especially given the fact that our people's have a common enemy and my father the one who started the war has passed away and is no longer with us," he said calmly as he looked at the King. He knew that he had to get this man to agree to the deal, "with this treaty we can work together and we can work to make sure that nothing causes future conflict between our peoples again."

The Demon King watched the elf approach him. He listened to him say that it was rather meaningless, and well, of course he agreed with that. "What are the terms of your treaty?" He asked, wanting to know the full details before agreeing. If there was something he didn't like, there was always a chance he could haggle over changing that term.

He looked at the king and then took a deep breath as he gathered his own thoughts. "Well, here are my terms, first we shall work together to deal with the Orc threat, after the war is over though, you shall help my people put a end to your war bands that roam freely. Secondly to deal with any issues that our people have, we shall create combined units to fight together so they may push past the prejudice that they happen to have against each other. I also will take your daughter's hand in marriage, any child shall be the next ruler of both kingdoms, and if more than one child is born the kingdom will be either ruled jointly by them or something will be come up with when that happens."

The older king agreed with most of the terms, but he was put off by giving his daughter to the elf. "You wish to marry my daughter?" He asked, watching him carefully. If he agreed and Natalia didn't, there would be no end to it. He knew she was far too stubborn. Something she inherited from her mother.

"Yes, I wish to marry your daughter," the king said calmly as he looked at demon king and then nodded his head, "I don't think that she will have any problem with it, but if she doesn't wish it, I shall not force it upon her," he said honestly as he looked at the older king. He looked at him calmly, "I promise she shall be taken care of and protected, and that I shall make sure she is happy as long as I can breath," he said making sure that the king knew that this wasn't just some political thing for which caused him to ask for her hand.

The older king thought over his words carefully. He seemed honest enough, but the older man still thought of Natalia as his little girl. He didn't want her to go to war, and now that she was back, he didn't want to lose her. It was more of a father thinking than a king at this point. Sighing, he knew he would need some time to come to agree fully. "I agree to your other terms, however I will need time to think over handing my daughter to you. In two days time, I will have my answer, until then you are free to wander the castle, though I advise against going into the town without an escort."

"I will have to wait then, but if there is a condition that must be added to have the hand of your daughter I will be willing to listen," he said before he bowed and slipped from the room. He whistled as he followed one of the guards to his room. He knew the king was right, he would have to wait in the capital, till the two sides started to work together it would be wise to avoid dealing with the masses of demons. He walked into his room and put out food for the wolf before laying down and resting, soon falling dead asleep tired from his travels and the overuse of magic.

Later on, after Natalia had cleaned up and was in fresh cloths, her father called for her. The princess was a bit curious as to what he needed of her, but she quickly made her way to the throne room. There, the older king pulled his daughter into a tight hug. They needed to talk over the marriage term of the treaty.

As he got up, from his sleep he looked out and took a notepad writing a letter to his people telling them of what was happening and how soon that he would be back with them and that with hope peace would be coming sooner rather than later, he knew that they would have to defeat the orcs, but that was something that he figured together with the demons they could pull off. He knew that the deal was important, but he didn't finish the letter case he didn't know how the final treaty would play out yet.
