In sleep, Mina seemed peaceful. Beautiful, even. Her features relaxed, though, occasionally, they would twitch and twist into visible discomfort. The I.V. still embedded in her ankle where it had been re-inserted earlier. Set to drip slowly, keeping the mix of silver and holy water in Mina's system, which kept her subdued. Passive. Sleeping to conserve what energy she had.
Even when Kaleb entered the room, she didn't stir. Didn't acknowledge him. Nothing until abruptly, her eyes opened. Red lashes fluttering open as a smirk curved at the edge of her lips, "Do you know why the crimson angel is dyed red?" Her voice was calm. Dangerously so, that smirk widening into a grin, "Because they say that in heaven, he painted the golden streets of heaven in blood. In punishment, he was stained red to be reminded always of his sins. Can you imagine? Shedding the blood of angels in a place so sacred?" Those eyes turned from the ceiling, to Kaleb, licking her lips slowly as she sneered, meeting his gaze head-on, "Oh, how I'm going to love watching him tear the skin from your still-living body when he gets here."
----------------------------------
Silence settled as the demon simply stared in near shock.
"If you're not going to enter, then I have no time to waste, boy."
Keiran's eyes were still wide, unable to believe what he was seeing, only now finding his voice, "I'm not a boy.... the name's Keiran.... You're... him, aren't you? Mina's father. The angel..." It came as a whisper, and for the first time in a good three hundred years, he felt rather... small. He'd never met the creature responsible for his sister's existence, and now, he could only step out of the way when the red-haired male walked by him, heading boldly towards the apartment complex that Keiran had only been lurking outside of.
Adriel in the flesh. Here. Now.
After a moment's consideration, Keiran dashed after him as Adriel kicked in the front door with little to no effort. The door falling completely off it's hinges and hitting the floor, a cloud of dust rippling up from around the edges. Like the apartment's outside, the inside seemed poorly cared for... but that didn't seem to fool Adriel. The angel closing his eyes, inhaling deeply, completely ignoring Keiran who went over, checking some of the rooms, kicking in a few doors. Until Adriel's eyes snapped open, turning his head down the hallway, advancing with certainty in his steps. Bringing the two of them in front of a door.
"It's just a closet." Keiran commented, flinching away at the glare that was thrown his way, "Look again, you imbecile." Pushing against the back panel of the closet, the wood gave way... revealing a set of stairs that lead downwards, "After you."
Keiran frowned, "But..."
"You're here for a reason, yes? Better see it through properly, yes?" Before the silvernette could complain, a shove sent him tumbling down the stairs, only just managing to catch himself on the railing near the bottom. Where several pairs of silver hues turned his way.
"Hi."
