Yeah, this is a big one (no pun intended)

We hear so much about how self-conscious women feel about their bodies, how much words hurt women, but we never hear this about men... are men never self-concious?... oh we're VERY self conscious.

in our current society, where supermodels plaster the sides of our buildings, where we hear so much about how women love some ripped 6 packs and a big, thick cock... what about the everyman? the guy working on that skyscraper across the street from your office? the guy mowing the lawns with his shirt on? or in the case of many young women.... your own boyfriend.

so ladies, with this being the internet you can be 100% honest here... if you were undressing a guy, he's shy, he's trying to resist a bit and trying to go at his own pace, he hasn't got a 6 pack, he isn't a supermodel and neither are you, you pull his pants down, you hear him gasp and his eye widen in fear, and before you.... is well, an acorn dick...

how would you react to this? would you laugh at him? dump him? give it a kiss and see if this acorn grows into an oak? would you consider him less of a man? what would you do?

you are free to assume why I asked this question, but I stand by it, every man, from the acorn dick to the foot-longs care about this question, and we are all very self conscious about it... except porn stars.

Couldn't resist.

I recently found an article on reddit about how Indian men often had penises too small for internationally sized condoms.
I am suddenly far more proud of being slightly above the international average.

And yet, I still can't help but wonder if I'd be hung like a fucking horse had I been black, too.

At least any lacking in that area is concealed.

Honestly, I have never met a girl who cared about the size of a guys penis, as long as it works and he knows how to use it.

There's only so much room in there. I've found for me personally, anything past 7 inches hits the cervix and that hurts. So bigger isn't necessarily better.

That whole "black men are so hung".. that is a myth. I dated enough black woman to know that is the truth.. from the mouth of babes, so to speak.

Actually, I prefer smaller guys, like 7 and below. I have had a partner with a ten inch penis, and honestly it was unpleasant to say the least. Everyone is self conscious, I have found the more "attractive" a guy is the more self conscious he can be.

There was a thread a while ago that asked something along the lines of if people really cared and judged others by appearance. I said no there ... and even to a topic like this, it still applies. Size doesn't - shouldn't - matter. This really is another 'beauty is only skin deep'-like thing, at least it is to me.

The only time I think there is an actual problem is when it is literally too big to fit or too small to function. I've seen guys on FL [fetlife.com] who have dicks that are only an inch...when erect, and guys who are so big that maybe 3/4 of their dick actually fits into someone but looks like the person is being ripped in half. Size can be intimidating for women, just like it can be for guys. Overall, it doesn't matter as long as whoever wields it is doing it right.

I'm of the opinion that guys seem to care waayyyyyyyyy more about this than the ladies do (with exceptions).

As long as it's is within the 'normal' range and functions as it should, I could really care less about the actual size and, really, have never really understood the whole male ego-driven 'mine is bigger than yours' thing, not even as a teenager.

I would assume that it relates to the whole social status of masculinity and bigger often being more manly equalling better.
Taller/more muscular = more manly
same premise for penis

I think you're right there and, when I say I've never understood it, I do understand, from a male perspective, the reasons behind it.

I've just never been one to care about social status or the need to 'prove' my masculinity to others, which I think is all in how I was raised - "The true measure of a man is not in what he says, or what he has, but in what he does".

I took the statement a little to literally XD

Hmm, I can see how that may happen. Oh well, too late for an edit now :)

I would say that guys tend to perceive themselves to be smaller than they actually are. At least for me, when I'm eye level with an erect penis, even one on the smaller side, the thought of "Wow, I'm actually going to have to fit this in me" always goes through my head. Simply being sexually attracted to the person makes you anticipate sex with them so much, you're more considered about playing with that thing than you are with measuring it.

Possibly. If it's too small to hardly penetrate or too thin it could be an issue, but that is getting into the realm of the ability to function and perform properly. No matter your gender or preference it's an unfortunate truth that at that point it's going to take a toll on one's sex life... potentially. I'm sure that is a rare issue though, and if I were to ever encounter that issue I'd then deal with it, then.

Personally for me, my relationships are probably 70% about the connection and bond and 30% about the sex. So if there was an issue with my lover that was out of their control, such as an abnormally small penis, I could probably find a way to deal with it.

I do think men make it a bigger deal than it should be.

People are pretty similar in how they're all different, but we all should be respected for that. You can jump up and down all day long, but just because you claim it doesn't matter, to someone it does matter and there is nothing wrong with that. Some prefer bigger breasts, others smaller breasts; some prefer more curves, others bones. Some muscles, others less. The penis and vagina are no different in the respect of preferences.

What I find interesting, at least from I remember hearing a while back, is that even a penis considered small for humans is proportionally larger in comparison to other animals.

I think everything that ever needs to be said about if size matters has been stated in this thread, but to answer your question... I, like any intelligent and caring woman, would make him feel good about whatever he's got. People that make their lovers feel bad about their bits (and I know there are plenty of people like that) are scum.

As far as what I'd think in my head if in that situation, I'd think "Let's see what happens". You seem to be suggesting a really extreme case. However, if it was a case of slightly less that average, I'd think, "Yay, we can bang without turning my cervix to hamburger."

"It's not about the size of the boat, it's about the motion in the ocean."

Live and die by this motto lol.

From personal experiences, and my talks with my females friends, the general consensus is that the best thing for them is an average sized Penis. There's always this Myth about how having a really big dick will get all the women, but when it comes down to the actual sex its not enjoyable for either party.

It's actually a proven fact that the longer your endowment is, the less pleasure you feel. So there's that.

As far as it being way too small for your female partner to feel anything, well...
Not much to do about that, but sex isn't everything.

Whether or not a penis can provide enough pleasure to a partner, or his cock and nuts function or not, he deserves respect as a man.

In other words, Ladies and gentlemen, don't be a dick.
