Cyber Granny (Omako + Celebstars)

Sitting at the desk, she had no idea the webcam was back on, recording every moment. After responding to some emails from friends she looked back on the site and saw yet another message from the young man. "When should we meet? Is it to soon? I have never met someone from the internet before. The thought is somewhat scary and obviously I have only ever seen your picture. You might not even be you." Taking a huge breath, she slumped on the desk, her head resting on her hand. By now she had taken her jacket off and was in her every day clothes. "How about tomorrow? Midday?" She didn't think that he might of had college but it soon hit her and she added one last comment. "Tomorrow evening?"

Vincent thought over his schedule, barely paying attention to the voyeuristic visual on his screen. His courses were mostly in the morning, his late return home had been because he took time for himself while his mother was out anyway. Deciding he had to accept the invite before she got too nervous and possibly backed out, he typed a new response.

"Meeting someone online is a bit odd, I'll admit, but once you see them face-to-face, speaking online is almost no different than talking in person. I assure you that I'm just as nervous as you are, but I say we give it a shot. No such thing as too soon if you want to see if we're romantically compatible. I don't have too many afternoon classes, so that would be fine. Say… 2 PM?"

Robin didn't have any plans, tomorrow at 2pm seemed fine with her.

"That is fine, that works for me to. There is a coffee place on the end of Moor Street. Do you know it? If not you can find it on the internet. I will meet you there." Clicking send, she had just arranged a meeting with him after only a day or so of talking. Things were moving really fast she thought. Nevertheless when she did meet him, she would tell him it would be taken slow.

If she was really honest with herself, she didn't think that they would form a relationship, but maybe she could have fun along the way, although the idea of fun was nothing sexual.

Turning off the computer she didn't have to check his response, she would go to the coffee place at 2pm, if he was there than great, if not, then no hard feelings.

He sent a short message consisting of essentially a confirmation, getting to his homework at the desk while he monitored the webcam visual. He wanted to make sure he was totally free before the date tomorrow, and worked pretty hard at it as his Grandmother went about her nightly routine, in and out of her own bedroom. He set it to record, just in case something happened while he was focused on his work.

Once he completed his work, he went through his psychology notes, looking for what kinds of behaviors older individuals responded best to, usually things to make them more comfortable with their figure, made them feel desirable.

It was time. Sitting at her kitchen table she looked at the clock and saw 1:30pm. Finishing her tea she placed the cup in the sink and went to her street door. Placing a purple scarf around her neck she slipped on her black coat and buttoned it up, pulling her hair out of the back. Grabbing her keys she left her bag indoors, having some money on her already. Locking the door, Robin had a slow walk to the coffee shop before finally arriving fifteen minutes later.

The bell rang as the door nudged it, allowing the owner to know a customer had arrived. Sitting at a table the building was near empty with a couple sitting together in the corner and a older man reading a newspaper. Taking her scarf of, the waitress came over and asked her what she would like. "Coffee please, one sugar." Smiling, she was left alone, waiting for her date to arrive.

The next day, following his classes, Vincent hid in a bathroom by the parking lot, putting on the wig to disguise his hair cut and a couple small cosmetic changes to disguise any distinguishing features on his face. It helped that he already looked similar to the guy in his picture, but he needed a bit of work to pass as him. Now the splitting image of his alter ego, he hitched a ride from a friend to the coffee shop. When he arrived, he saw his Grandma Robin sitting by herself at one of the tables, waving to her and having a seat.

"It's nice to finally meet you in person. Your picture really doesn't do you justice." When asked what he'd like by the waitress, he ordered black coffee and a few cookies. He smiled across the table to his date, waiting for a response to strike up a conversation.

Robin saw him and looked weirdly at him. A frown appeared with a smile, looking at his face. "You are very handsome" The grandmother said, although she wasn't to keen on the wig. "Could do with a haircut, looks a little more outgrown than in your picture." When the waitress came over, Robin went silent, almost shy like. "I'm not embarrassed to be here with you, but people might think it is strange this being a date, given the large age gap." The beauty then went silent again as the woman brought over his things.

"May I?" Being cheeky, the gran took one of his cookies, taking a bite out of it. "My grandson loves these cookies. All young people must." Her eyes widened, sipping her coffee which was still hot.

He noted the point. It'd give him an excuse to go without the wig, since they shared a hair color. "I guess you're right. I am a bit over-due for a hair cut. I'll probably take care of that after today." He picked up a cookie as she brought up the age gap. "It doesn't bother me all that much, but there's not that many people giving any looks. I'm certainly not ashamed to be on a date with a pretty woman." He smiled and bit into the cookie.

"Your grandson has good taste in sweets. So, how's your day been so far?" He began speaking to strike up a bit of small talk as they went through their refreshments.

Nodding her head, she agreed and listening to him as he spoke. Sipping at her coffee, Robin placed it back down before answering his question. "It has been ok, nothing to special. Well until now? It has been a long time since I was on a date." Although she was older and more mature, she was feeling shy and rather embarrassed. "How was your day? Did you not have college? I would love to go back and learn, although I don't think they accept my age group." Giving a wonderful smile to the young man, Robin pulled some hair back behind her ear.

"I hope when you look at me you don't see your mother or your grandmother. It would be rather awkward wouldn't it?" She came out with the statement because he has so many similarities with her grandson, but she couldn't say that, he might think she was weird.

"Most of my classes are in the morning on my schedule, so I can keep my afternoons free for friends, or dates." He smiled across the table. Her shyness was actually cute, he thought. "I think some colleges would teach people past their graduation year. If not, maybe I could help you find some online courses to take. Lots of people do these days." He made sure not to specifically reference her age, not wanting to make her feel old.

"I don't see my Mother or grandmother in you, unless you mean seeing a sweet, very nice and pretty caring lady. You have both this air of maturity and this air of youth around you." He resumed their small talk, disussing a little about his college courses to keep them talking for a bit.

Robin felt very flattered by him and the small talk was growing in to conversations. They had spent nearly an hour in the coffee house, talking about courses and dreams. It would sometimes move to more serious subjects but that didn't last very long as it made Robin feel unsettled. When it was time to leave, she had put her scarf on and her coat, paying for the coffee and his meal to, saying it was her treat as she invited him out.

Walking out of the door she waited for him to join her.

He had tried to talk her into letting him at least cover himself, but she seemed insistent on it, and he didn't want to argue too much with her. Standing from the table, he followed her to the door, wondering where they might go now. He draped an arm over her shoulder as some guys would a girl their own age. Then he remembered something.

"So, you doing anything tonight?"

Looking and watching his arm come over her shoulder, Robin tilted her head to upwards to look at him. "Tonight? Are you asking me out on another date?" Inquiring his motives she put her hands in her pockets to keep them warm. "I don't know, what did you have in mind? I haven't been out in a long time, well not like a date-date" if he knew what that meant. "Where did you want to take me? Is it far? I don't want to be travelling home at late hours. I am a lot older than you and would feel very tired in the evening." Gosh she sounded old Robin thought to herself. Why would he be interested in her.

"Oh, just a bit of a dinner and then a party. I'm friends with a couple of the guys in the hosting Fraternity, and we're allowed to bring a date. Even if we're not going to the party, a formal dinner would be a nice way to spend the evening. And I'll admit, a part of it for me is knowing I'll have the prettiest date at the event." He teased, smiling to her face as they walked. He walked with her to their cars in the parking lot.
