Over the years and centuries, the Earth saw many abrupt and drastic changes. Soon, it hadn't been only humans that resided or walked on the ground. No, quite the opposite. Within the past several hundred years, other beings began to make their existence known. But the biggest impact had come from creatures many believed to be but a myth, all fake; vampires.

Now, though, they were very much real and had in fact become more dominant than the humans. Needless to say, that applied in every possible aspect and statistic; strength, speed, population, mental dominance .. literally any and everything.

Unfortunately for the humans, this meant an array of events. But the worst, by far, was most had been wiped out. After all, few if any had actually been prepared and when the vampires did arrive, the first thing most did was find a human and feed off them, generally till they were dead. The few that were spared would be scarred for life, more likely than not or if worst came to worst, they killed themselves, unable to accept what had just happened to them.

What order used to remain was far gone, replaced by discord and chaos. It was literally an 'every man for himself' type of world now .... and that had been what caused Lillithria to self-train herself and become a huntress. While her preference was vampires, she could easily gather actual food if push came to shove.Well, it was one reason anyways.

The other? It had literally seemed to run in her blood and veins. The day Lillithria found out she'd been born one of the rarest races - a Dhampir - had been both a blessing and a curse. It meant she was stronger, smarter, faster than any typical human. Vampires, however, were a different story. But that had been why she'd worked and trained so hard; to remain alive whenever she did encounter one.

Tonight, unfortunately, was one of those nights. She could literally feel her vampiric urges desperately begging and pleading for her to go hunt a human. Unlike the other vampires, she didn't feed so long it'd kill them. But knowing they were mentally weak, it actually made her feel horrible to even do the act at all. Then again, that was the unlucky part of being a Dhampir; it meant she wasn't a full vampire and thus could sympathize with humans.

Her head shook as an annoyed sigh left her lips. "You really need to kill that side to some degree ... " She murmured in annoyance, feeling her silver locks move from side to side in time with her head. After a quick glance around, however, the facts were once again reminded to the huntress .. and it made her scoff. Like it or not, she had to go hunt something.

Pulling her tank top down slightly, she grabbed a cloak and tossed it over her body. Next was her quiver and longbow, both going over her back. Reaching her hands up, she grasped the hood upon the cloak and pulled it over her face. Her hand rested upon the doorknob before finally opening it, closing the door behind her.

Sneaking a glance up, Lillithria felt her teeth lightly grip her lower lip. The moon was slightly red in color, a blood moon respectively. Ugh, your vampiric half had to kick in tonight of all nights ... This would be one of the worst and most dangerous times to be out. But damnit all, she wasn't just going to starve. Best make this fast ... She mentally added, nodding to herself.

With a plan and resolve all in her body and mind, Lillithria began running off towards a nearby forest, one she often went into for hunting animals. It'd be a quick grab and go... nothing overly complex. Her hands reached behind her, notching a silver-tipped arrow that matched her hair color. Pulling back on the string, she stopped once her hand was next to her ear, keeping the bow lowered near the ground for now. There'd be no point in releasing it just yet. No, she had to wait for something to come into view ... likely a doe. Rabbits were too small and didn't allow her to create much.

Aside from soft pants, Lillithria was deathly silent, keeping her eyes and ears firmly alert for anything ... or if need be, anyone.

Another night, another call, another late night hunt. For years, Colin Thao had one job; to kill. As long as he could remember, Colin was hunting in the night, tracking down his latest money maker and taking them down without even a second thought. This was the life of an assassin and one he knew quite well. Despite the pain in his gut and the hate in his mind, the blood sucking monster knew what was right, knew what he had to do. The money he got out of it was well worth the risk, not to mention the opportunity to drain the victims whenever he pleased. The take down was his own choice, the reasons for it was up to the customer.

Since vampires came out in the public eye, life had been tough for Colin. He could barely remember it happening, feeling as if it was only a strange dream from his childhood. Only that he was an adult every time he thought about it. There was no childhood tucked away in his mind, no memories of what happened before the vampires came out, only what had gone on since and only who he had taken down. His boss suggested he had a case of amnesia, but then again, he didn't much care. As long as Colin was getting the jobs done, he'd continue to pass them over, memory loss or not.

Another night, another forest, another boring track. This latest target wasn't as smooth as the last few had been. Then again, they knew they were being hunted. They knew that something was going to be after them soon and they were on the run. This victim was seemingly clueless. Colin didn't have much information on her other than her home and a good picture of her, but for some reason she had a high bounty on her head. There was big money out there for this female and Colin's boss wanted it. Of course, he'd split the reward with his mercenary of a worker, but they both knew who was really after the money. Colin didn't waste any time in following the woman out to the forest, keeping his silent distance with ease and practice. He wasn't about to slip up over someone as silly as her. She was an archer, which meant her senses were that much higher than an average human's, meaning Colin had to be even more careful than he normally would be. He couldn't risk being shot with anything. Not again. The force of a longbow forcing an arrow through him would certainly damage his body in more ways than he would want to imagine. He'd have to be careful around this huntress.

The red, glowing moon gave the entire forest an eerie glow, one that brought out the vampiric nature of the blood sucker even more than the hunt typically would. Colin watched from a safe distance as she found a place to hide herself and aimed, waiting for the first target to cross her path. In silence he waited for a movement in the distance. A doe stepped out into a small clearing, nibbling lightly at the grass at its feet, ears twitching as she waited for a sound to echo around her. She looked so peaceful, so unknowing... just as Lillithria did. Comparing the two bits of prey was something that Colin couldn't help but smirk at. Either way, they were going down.

He took advantage of the moment to sneak forward, moving from tree to tree with practised, silent ease. His dark jacket and scarf kept him well hidden, blocking his skin from the light of the bright moon. The vampire blended into the shadows as if he was born in them. As Lillithria waited to fire, the assassin stepped up behind her, not a leaf crunching under his steps. He kept to the trees for a reason after all. As soon as the shot went off, he was ready to strike, leaping down from the branches above to grab the woman and inject her with his own personal poison. Just enough to knock her out, but enough to keep her down until he took her away.

He was good at his job. And as long as his target didn't fight back, this would be swift.

As the doe came into sight, Lillithria sent up a silent prayer of thanks. She'd wanted this hunt to be over with sooner as opposed to later and it seemed that the huntress would get her wish. Her left eye closed as she took aim. Her arm had been ready, waiting to release the arrow. A light frown crossed her face though, the sensation of being watched trying to overwhelm Lillithria. Glancing behind herself, her head shook no as she sighed softly. Don't be stupid ... She inwardly cursed at herself. Besides, it's not going to stay there forever. Just go ... get it done ... That seemed to be all the incentive she needed.

Finally, the dhampir let the arrow fly, smiling as it hit right in the dead center of the doe's chest. An infuriated hiss soon passed her lips as she felt ... a syringe? Her body jerked away, not caring that the poison was already in her system. She was pissed, though whether at herself or whomever attacked her more ... that was uncertain. Her hand trembled as she reached down towards one of her leather boots, trying to grab for a concealed dagger. But she could feel it; her reaction time was so much slower than it should have been.

Fuck! Poison ...

Turning shakily on her heels, Lillithria found a figure behind her, albeit it was blurry. It almost seemed like a normal human from a first glance. But there was no way just a normal man had really snuck on her like that. No, that couldn't have happened ... could it? Her heart raced as she took a shaky step back, trying to give herself distance.

"... Who ... ??" That was as far as Lillithria got before the rest of the venom kicked in. An annoyed hiss left as the weapon dropped beside her, the dhampir's body following suit. As she impacted with the ground, several of the silver-tipped arrows fell out of the quiver fell out, strands of her silver hair concealing her face.

"Good night, my sweet," a deep voice hissed as his target fell into a deep sleep. Colin wasn't ready to take her down just yet, but getting her home was much easier this way. He stepped towards the deer and began to drain the creature of its blood while he waited for Lillithria to drift off to sleep. It only took a few minutes and when he returned, the vampire began to gather up the weapons left laying on the ground around her. Better to not leave anything behind. Not only did that raise suspicion to those who might find it, but what she had was a quality bow, which would possibly sell for a good price on a market. If not make a fine weapon for Colin to add to his ever growing collection.

The vampire lifted his poisoned target over his arms and sighed, taking a moment to look down at her. He narrowed his eyes slightly at the familiar feeling he got in his gut, almost like this might be wrong to do, but shrugged it off when he remembered just how much money would be coming his way. With a soft "hm", he started out of the woods, using his naturally vampiric speed to get him back to his home before anyone could catch him.

It was a cosy apartment in the high rise area of the city, complete with an average bedroom, a full office, two bathrooms, a complete, up to date kitchen a large living room full of the latest of gadgets and a master suite to die for. Each room was set with the finest items, all paid for by the blood of those Colin had hunted. It looked like a bachelor pad of sorts, complete with a set of beer bottles still sitting on the counter beside the sink. So maybe Colin wasn't the cleanest of creatures... but he knew how to take care of himself and he knew style when he saw it. The hunter set Lillithria in the spare bedroom, set up with just enough for the average guest to be happy with. The window had been sealed shut months before and lined with enough glass to keep anything inside while the door locked from the outside and was kept shut with the best of curses, laid in by some of the more powerful witches in the city. It was clear he would take no precautions on loosing who he captured for his work. That should keep her inside... Colin didn't get any warnings on what she might be capable of doing, so he figured she would be safe in there until he needed her again. This was the test, it seemed.

Meanwhile, Colin poured himself a drink, picked up his laptop and sat on the couch, feet resting against the coffee table in front of him as he waited patiently for his target to wake and begin to make some sort of noise...

The same last few seconds of her consciousness had been playing repeatedly in her head, more or less akin to a nightmare. And to the huntress, it was a mostly accurate way to describe it all. It had been one, essentially. She was used to finding and hunting others, not the other way around! Goddamnit ... She heard in her head, nothing short of willpower beginning to assist her in trying desperately to wake up. The fact she could start to come to was at least a good sign for one thing; it meant the venom hadn't been meant to kill her. And since Lillithria was a hybrid, it would have a better chance at succeeding than if she were a pure vampire.

Her head weakly lifted up as light blue orbs began to blink rapidly. After a minute or two of forcing her sight to adjust, Lillithria found herself in ... a bedroom? Honestly, it was a bit amazing. With how she'd been knocked out and taken away, she'd half expected something far worse. Hell, just remaining alive was a miracle in itself. Pushing herself slowly up into a sitting position, she was even more astonished to feel her weapons were with her. She couldn't help but inwardly chuckle.

Whoever did this is incredibly arrogant, stupid, something ... She mused, now taking the time to glance around the room. While it was true that there weren't exactly many exits out of the room, it didn't seem like the worst of a chore. Wouldn't it just be a simple matter of getting rid of the owner of this place? It seemed as much in her head. Now that her muscles could better move - not perfectly as she was still a bit slow from the venom - but still enough, her hand reached down and grasped the dagger. As she pulled it carefully out from it's sheath, her eyes and ears remained firmly alert.

The anger and fury of having been forced into this ... mess - whatever that may or may not include - hadn't left Lillithria. Oh no. In fact, it only resurfaced within her head as she remembered enough of why she was here in the first place.

Pushing herself towards the back of the bed, she placed her hands slightly behind her, using a pillow to conceal the dagger. It'd look as if she were resting. In an odd position? Definitely but few people dared to check such things. Hopefully this would apply. If this man had been sneaky enough to catch her off guard, she fairly guessed even the soft sounds of her moving around had caught his ears.

And thus ... she began playing the waiting game, wanting if nothing else a damn good explanation on what was going on.

Colin's eyes lifted towards the door when he heard the slightest bit of movement from inside the room. She was waking up, which was good. It meant the poison hadn't killed her in her sleep. That happened some times... risk of the job. He couldn't hear exactly what was going on inside of the room, but she was moving around and sitting up apparently. It was a bit soon for a human to be doing such a thing, but he wasn't about to complain about it. It meant that he could get rough with her and not worry about breaking her fragile human exterior that so many of them had. He waited patiently for a few minutes, sitting as still as he could until he heard Lillithria stop moving. Once she had, he slid from the couch, setting his feet on the ground in front of him for a minute before making his way over towards the door.

The man paused outside of the door, scratching at the stubble on his chin as he listened to what was going on inside even closer than he was before. He gave a gentle clearing of his throat before knocking lightly on the door. "Good morning," he greeted, his caramel tone dripping the words from his mouth and into the room on the other side of the door. "Glad to see you're awake." 'And alive.' She would do no good for him dead. Not yet at least. Colin had his own way of taking out his bounties and he enjoyed it quite a bit. He'd just have to wait for the poison to get out of her system before he could get to work.

"Need anything? Magazine, glass of water, snack..." A smirk crossed his lips as he leaned against the frame beside the door, keeping his actions as quiet as he could possibly get them to be. Luckily vampires were experts at doing such a thing, which made this task as easy as breathing for him. "I'm here to serve you. For about another hour."

It was so tempting for Lillithria to get up to her feet and spring towards her assailant. The arrogance from his greeting didn't at all suit her. In fact, it only added onto her fury which had been swimming through her head. But ... she could play this psychological game he'd begun. Besides, even if she wanted to go through with her desires, there was no way the Dhampir could do so; not in such a weakened state. She'd need to wait for the rest of the venom to leave her system. It'd make the waiting all the more sweeter, or so she hoped. Her fists clenched, the right hand clamping tighter around the hilt of her dagger.

"None of those." She replied calmly, her own smirk weakly crossing her face. "Answers ... at the very minimum what in the hell you want with me if nothing else?" Even with the arrogant grin on the hybrid's face, her tone was anything but cheerful or matching emotions. No, nothing but her own sorts of poison and ice mingled in, hinting the last thing she was with this man was anything close to content with him. But the fact she hadn't rushed him also proved she was smarter than one would immediately assume. She definitely knew her limits, even if Lillithria did or didn't like them. Still, facts were facts and she knew when to wait, when to attack, things of the like.

And even though Lillithria didn't want to, she knew she had to wait. So ... she could do that, pretend and play along with this man. In her mind, she was several steps ahead of him. All it'd take was for the period of the venom to finish disappearing from her system .. and she'd be more than ready. Her body would be able to react much faster than it could even try to do so now ... her senses keener ... her mindset back to that of a huntress. And once all of those returned, she was hellbent and determined to make this bastard pay.

"Did I offer 'answers'?" the man asked, shifting slightly so his back was against the frame rather than his shoulder. With a door still separating the two of them, he didn't have to worry about her coming through it. The witch had assured him that no human could get through that door. It would take a powerful being to get around that, and those he wouldn't be keeping in his apartment. "Don't think I did." He let out an over exaggerated sigh and a shrug of his shoulders before letting them drop again. He fell silent for a moment, letting his eyes slide shut then open again, focusing on the wall across from the room as he waited a moment, debating about his possible options at that very moment. It didn't take very long. "You know, I'll be nice." He turned his head towards the door again, as if he was actually trying to look at the woman inside. He couldn't, of course, but he was attempting to keep some sort of manners. "How about I give you an answer and you do the same for me, hm?"

With a push off of his shoulder, the vampire stood up straight, pulling at the jacket hanging on his shoulders. "What I want from you... well..." He chuckled lightly. "I'm getting money for you. Plain and simple. Money to hand you over to whoever wants your pretty hide." His chocolate brown gaze travelled over the door, imagining the room inside, knowing just how it looked and thinking of exactly where the female might have been sitting. He had a few ideas, from where she had moved, but had little idea what she had on her. Probably a weapon, but that was part of the fun and surprise; guessing what she might have and how she might attack with it. It was all part of the chase and nab, a good old game of cops and robbers.

"But what would the buyers want with you, hm? You woke up far too early to be human..." His words faded away as he began to think, running through the possibilities of what she could be. There were so many, but a good number he could rule out early on. "Mind filling a man in on what you have to offer? Instead of me standing here, guessing."

A low "Tch" left Lillithria's lips, her eyes rolling as her assailant went on with petty rhetorical questions. The last thing she gave a damn about was whether any of those had been offered or not. She would get them one way or another and, thankfully, he wound up being able to compromise. Her teeth found her lower lip, still very irked at the situation. And yet, she couldn't help but be amused; the chuckle he'd soon hear would signal that much. "Oh? I didn't think I even had a bounty, really. Interesting." Her head glanced up as the huntress better thought about this. The only person who she could guess would even bother at all ... were vampires. So did that mean the man behind the door was one also? In a way, it better explained some things, mainly how he snuck up on her at all.

Her smirk widened as he took his turn to ask his own question. "Heh, good one. Humans are practically nonexistent nowadays. What makes you think I am? And more than that, even if I was one, I'd be useless to your boss. They're easy to kill, generally useless. I think I've proven to you by fighting that venom off I'm not as weak as one of them. In fact, you could always open that door and allow me to better prove myself to you." Not that she expected him to really do such a thing; after all, he'd brought her here with her weapons still. The man already knew at least the arrows had silver upon them. No sane person - vampire or human - would take up her words.

"So ... simply put, I'm not human. I'm ... unique. However, I'm not one of you - a vampire - either. Assuming, that is, my guess is correct. But I have been wondering how you were so good with the sneaking around, let alone against me. And between the fact you've hinted I have a bounty on my head plus common sense ... is it fair to guess you're one of the many vampires that now wander around here, hm?" She went quiet, seeing if he'd answer her back once again. Technically, she had given him an answer. Directly? No. But if he was as smart as he was sneaky, he should have little to no trouble figuring out the clue Lillithria had given him.

With a soft groan, Colin closed his eyes, leaning back against the wall. That hint was enough to give something away as to what she was, that was for sure. So she wasn't human and wasn't quite vampire all at the same time. What an interesting turn of events this was becoming. He didn't respond to her guessing, knowing that it would do no good. She had hit the nail on the head and knew exactly what he was even without seeing him. She was smart... Good. If she wasn't going to give him a solid answer, she wasn't going to get one either. "Rather keep the door closed, thanks," he commented, giving it a solid knock with his knuckles. "Give you a bit longer to sleep." A smile played with his lips again before he turned away, nudging himself off the wall again. "Rest up, sweetie."

Colin stepped away from the door to deal with his own business while he waited for the proper contact to come and collect the woman. He took in a deep breath and removed his phone from his pocket. Checking the time, messages, anything that would be helpful at that moment to know just what they wanted this girl for. If she really was what Colin thought she was, some sort of hybrid creature, then that meant there was more money on her head than Colin was being offered. He needed some answers.

Which, by he end of the phone call, he found out was impossible. There was no way anyone was going to tell him what he needed or wanted to know, much to his arguing. The black-haired man was on his own with the woman until someone came by. Another groan, another drink... Colin crossed back to the door.

"Hungry yet?" he asked, leaning against the door to listen to Lillithria from the shielded door.

Well ... he hadn't denied his heritage. So in the eyes and mind of Lillithria, it was still possible her guess had been right. If anything, the low groan suggested it may have been more likely correct than otherwise. A frustrated hiss left upon hearing the suggestion of rest. It may not have been done on her own, but she didn't want anymore truthfully. However ... it may help out for when he checked up on her. Surely, he couldn't keep that door locked forever; though if her patience ran out first, she'd just work on busting it down herself. Until that moment arrived, however, Lillithria would keep playing this damn waiting game she'd been doing for a while now. Lying upon her side, her other hand joined the right one under the pillow, carefully resting upon and concealing the dagger. She kept her movements as minimum as possible to avoid cutting herself.

The silver wouldn't kill her but it'd hurt like a real bitch. She'd made that mistake far too many times before ... and wasn't overly in the mood to repeat it. Her eyes closed and despite the dhampir not having wanted sleep, she wound up falling into a brief nap anyways. She silently blamed the bits of the poison which had remained plus fatigue, physical more than mental.

A frustrated hiss left as Colin spoke up yet again. "... Goddamnit, make up your mind. First you say get rest ... now you're asking if I'm hungry. I'm both, okay? Remember where you found me? What I'd been trying to do?" While it had been true her emotions had gotten to her before Lillithria's logic, she wouldn't have changed her reply much if at all. She was still rather pissed at this situation ever happening, both at herself and Colin. But she wouldn't place all the blame on herself. Fuck and no; this man definitely deserved his fair share.

And as little as Lillithria enjoyed having her hunt interrupted - and stolen from her - she also disliked being woken up. Plain and simple. If the man had expected her to behave like some obedient child ... well .. he'd be sadly mistaken. If he wanted that, he'd have to work for it.

Colin chuckled. "That's why I'm asking," he explained simply. "I'd rather not have to deal with an angry mutt if I can help it." As it was, she was probably already pretty pissed with her situation and Colin knew that well. He had been in her position in the past; locked in a room with barely anything. After the hunger started was the worst part of that whole situation. The empty feeling that began to grow in his empty stomach, the rage, the false taste and smells filling his senses... With a deep breath, the vampire could almost smell the false feeling in the back of his senses. He quickly shook of the feeling and walked away from the door to the kitchen, pouring himself a drink of the metallic ruby liquid before returning to the door. If she was any sort of creature with heightened sense like he now was sure she was, the smell would be able to waft through the smallest of slit beneath the door and begin to drive her hunger up the wall. He was playing with fire, but this hunter had been burnt a thousand times before. It was just another day in the office for him.

"What would you prefer to have?" he asked, leaning against the frame once again as he began to sip at the glass, nursing it slowly despite his craving to chug the liquid. He had to tease Lillithria as much as possible while he had the chance. "I have toast, eggs, soup, juice... Anything you'd prefer, or would you rather go back to sleep?" A smirk pulled his lips back, eyes settling on the wall across from him. He took in a deep breath, taking in the scents of his home; the blood, the candle lit in the bathroom, the metal in her room... she wasn't fooling this assassin. It wasn't his first rodeo, after all. "I mean, I can give you what you want while you're here. Because you're not getting it after you pass through my doorway."

Her teeth almost instantly had to grip her lower lip from having a cursing fit. It happened .. but only in her head as opposed to out loud. And given the way this bastard was playing with her, it would have pushed her luck too far, much as she hated to admit it. Lillithria still did need something, regardless on what that would end up being. Her fit echoed a few times over in her head first though, simultaneously thinking on what else she did want besides blood.

Goddamn arrogant son of a bitch! Ohhhh when I can finally do things to you ... urgh! And if you didn't want an angry mutt, you could have always skipped the job. Stupid prick ...

A weary sigh left her lips, the scent of what she'd been seeking out doing it's appropriate job and tempting her. "You have the answer near you." She finally replied. "I'm assuming you do, anyways, given I can smell it." Still, even among her feelings of frustration, an amused smirk couldn't help but cross her lips. Had he seriously not figured out exactly what she was? Admittedly, this was one way for him to find out. But still, it was almost funny, laughable even, that it'd taken him this long to narrow the list down. In an odd way, it made her rather proud. Just as much as she'd had to think during this ordeal, Lillithria had made him do the same back it seemed.

It may not seem like much .. but honestly, it was a start. And something was far better than nothing.

That response set the idea in the concrete had had been pouring in his mind. Colin tried not to assume what his targets were until he had a chance to verify it. He had heard too many horror stories of people underestimating their target and ending up dead. That was the last thing he wanted at this point, given how much money he would be getting in exchange for this woman. The mutt comment didn't get the response he was hoping for, but he wasn't about to argue with it or demand anything more from her. Not yet. She'd be out of his hair soon enough and he could move onto the next target.

His fingers played with the glass in his hand, running over the cut glass design on the outside before taking in another breath. "Why don't you put the metal at the door and I'll pass you some." If she got the dagger away from here, there was a damn good chance that Colin could get inside without getting stabbed by her. Frightened animals were some of the worst creatures to deal with and ones that were pinned in a room were even worse. Weapons only added a dangerous element that he didn't want to deal with this time around. As it was, he slipped up and left her with a dagger, despite checking her over before locking her in the room. If she wanted to eat, he wanted the weapon away from her. "How does that sound for a trade, hm?"

The sound of a pillow being punched would be the immediate sound to catch Colin's ears. Yes, her reaction was childish ... and Lillithria knew that. But the hell with what anyone thought. She was pissed and infuriated. It hadn't helped the huntress had been so damn certain he had failed to notice the dagger. It had been tucked away in a concealed sheath within her right boot, after all. But .. with how long she'd been unconscious, he likely had enough time, she guessed. Pulling her arms out from underneath the pillow, light blue orbs gazed down to her only melee weapon. She bit angrily on her lower lip before her head finally bowed.

"Don't you dare toss it away ... " She finally replied, the bed lightly creaking as she stood up and began walking towards the door. Her footsteps were light but not so much they couldn't be heard. Soon, the audible but gentle sound of something metal making contact with the floor would be heard. ".... There. It's done."

The tone in her voice hinted this was by far the last thing she wanted or liked .. but proved she truly did know better when push came to shove. Her ankles tensed, ready to back away if he commanded for her to do so.

Colin smirked. He was getting her angry, which was near damn perfect. Perhaps he could get a good bite out of her before she was taken away. The vampire waited on the other side, his hands resting against the door as he listened to her light steps and the movement of setting the dagger down. She really was a hunter... it was impressive. If they were in another situation, Colin might not want to get rid of her.

Might.

Her attitude intrigued him, certainly would keep him on his toes and keep him from getting bored, and she was quite attractive. Compared to other women he had been after in the past, she was one he wouldn't mind keeping around. He gave her another minute to step back on her own, but wasn't surprised when she didn't. "Step back," he instructed, sounding almost as if she was stupid for not doing so on her own. He wasn't about to open the door with her standing right there by the weapon. As soon as he heard her move away, Colin worked the key into the lock, popping it open and turning the handle. He reached his foot in, nudging the dagger towards the door and out of the room, taking away any chance of the woman using it against him.

Colin stepped into the room, glass in hand, looking over Lillithria carefully. Now that she was awake and he could see her eyes and her movements, he knew for sure she was a hunter. Still wasn't sure why the man in charge wanted her, but that wasn't any of his business at that point. His eyes narrowed slightly towards her before he held the glass out, offering her what was inside.

"It's not fresh, but it'll do," he told her, swirling the liquid in the glass slightly. It was rare to get fresh human blood these days, but he had a stock from the local blood bank. And there were several other creatures with blood that tasted just as good, if not better. But it was turning out to be just as rare as human blood as of late. Part of the reason why he was in this business, to be completely honest. "Drink up. Get back to bed. Stop throwing an tantrum and I might give you more before you leave."

Lillithria's fists clenched almost instantly upon hearing the command to move back. It had been a slither of hope - far too much, she realized - that it wouldn't have been asked of her. Not when she complied. But .... the damn bastard had the correct mindset and reaction. It'd be foolish of him to really trust her, especially this soon. Finally, the door opened once again and now that Lillithria was free of any venom, she got a better chance to truly study her assailant. It was incredibly easy to mistake him for a human; most of the vampiric-like features weren't immediately visible. But now that he was closer, she could almost literally smell his heritage. Any doubts of whom he really was were - to some extents - gone now that she had been able to see him for herself.

And all without the risk of being drugged or something of the like, too.

As his hand extended out, Lillithria took the glass and almost eagerly downed most of the liquid in one sip. The faint scent coming from the blood had hinted it hadn't been completely fresh ... but it would definitely suffice. Then again, with the amount of humans that were even alive today, it really would have been a hell of a miracle to even find a pure source. Handing the empty glass back, Lillithria quietly pivoted on her heels. A lot echoed in her head but, once again, she kept her cursing fit to herself. She'd oblige to some extent ... but not completely.

Tch, fuck you .. ordering me around like some damn servant. Really ... what the fuck were you expecting?

Still, the huntress kept her steps, tone, and facial expressions all much calmer than the fit that still repeated in her mind. Taking slow strides, she lied down on top of the bed, her head falling on the pillow. "... And when do I leave?" She finally asked in a collected voice, her back remaining facing towards Colin's eyes. She had little more to say .. and wanted to try to keep herself under control before he tempted her to give in and let him know just how she really felt about him.

The man calmly took the glass back and looked inside at what was left. Nothing, which was a good sign. It meant that she had enough to calm herself without actually filling her up. Almost like he had planned to give her just the right amount...

"Some time tonight," he responded vague, his eyes still trailing inside of the glass. "You should have been gone by now, but those in charge decided against it." His dark eyes narrowed before lifting up to look at his target who was seemingly pouting on the bed. Her figure was much smaller than his own and so much more attractive now that he could get a good look at her form. The possibility of fun was still there and in the back of his mind he knew that. He just didn't... quite want to step over the border. Not yet. The vampire reached out to set the glass on a table in the hallway before looking back at Lillithria and her shapely hips. "Hope that will be enough for you."

He really didn't care... he wasn't going to waste what he had in his home on her without getting something out of it from her. The company could want to pay whatever they wanted, but if she wasn't doing something in exchange, she wasn't getting fed what she wanted. "Do you want to run away already? You just woke up." More mocking from the blood sucker. There was never too much of that when it came to vampires, it seemed. They were always willing to rub your pain in your face just that tiny bit more. "Won't be so eager when they actually show up. They treat their targets like dogs, just to warn you."

Lillithria remained silent, staying on top of the bed. Each passing second in which Colin continued to remain in the room with her only adding slowly onto her dislike for him. Was he just trying to see if he could piss her off? While the bow and dagger were her preferences, that wasn't by any means all she could use. No, if push ever came to shove - like it was tempting the huntress to do now - she could rely on brute strength. It wouldn't be nearly as good as the man behind her but hell, it was something. She'd put up a far better fight than a normal human at least. Her eyes closed as she tried to focus upon getting rest, attempting to block all of his words out.

"No sane person would want to remain here, at least I doubt." She replied, pulling the covers over her body while still keeping her back to Colin's eyes. "... Yeah, because I expected them to be angels. Tch, I'm not fucking stupid. Thank you for the blood ... now go the fuck away. I'm trying to get rest." Her hands shook as she gripped the sheets.

Maybe it'd been because other vampires she had the misfortune of running into never bothered teasing and taunting her. Regardless, though, this one was really pissing her off to every end of the world. And she'd almost give anything to be deaf; if it weren't for the fact she needed her senses to be keen. That was maybe - likely - the only thing keeping herself from giving into the rather dark urge swimming slowly around in her mind. Her eyes closed tighter as her body tried to relax, tried to forget of the man still so close and yet far away.

Colin lifted his hands up in a motion that would mean he was giving up. Of course, it was simply done to mock her, but the man left backed out of the room anyway. "Call if you need anything." More mocking. He was good at this sort of thing typically. The vampire left her alone in the room to wallow in self pity, or whatever she wanted to do, and settled back on his couch to watch the latest news stories. Nothing too interesting or clever. Colin hated slow news days. There were a few killings, some small robberies, but nothing to note. Lately, the world had been quite boring. Nothing 'fun' was going on, thanks to the sudden influx of vampires in the world, and many of the creatures that used to stay so hidden were coming out into the rest of the world. Colin always found life to be more interesting when you had to hide yourself and your secret from every person living on the planet.

Another hour went by before the vampire bothered to move. He got another glass of the sweet liquid of life and sat back down on the couch to watch another set of news reports, this time covering the rest of the world rather than just what was around them. After another hour plus, a knock came to his door. Lillithria was still in the room, Colin was sure of that, but he was betting she had taken another nap. Or as close to a nap as she could manage in her situation. Colin cracked the door open, allowing his visitors into his home to collect the woman.

With a knock to the door, Colin called inside to his target. "Wake up, buttercup." He didn't wait for a response before unlocking the door and inviting himself inside, nudging it closed behind him. "Transport's here. Ready for a trip?"

The hour had gone by far too quickly. Then again, like the old saying went, 'tempus fugit'. Time really did fly and unfortunately, now was no exception. Worse off, Lillithria hadn't been able to fall asleep. Too many unknown factors had gone through her head and her mood hadn't improved much if at all. She was still furious this was even happening at all but more than that, a part of her was genuinely scared. The huntress had never once been in any situation like this at all, nothing even came close. Many of Colin's words and taunts hadn't helped at all, making her anxieties increase far more than they probably should have.

"They treat their targets like dogs, just to warn you."

It hadn't been the only line which repeated in her head but that had been one of the more dominant ones. She was a hunter, damnit, not a bitch. Well, not role or job-wise. Attitude, maybe but only when people deserved that mindset to be shoved upon them. And now was definitely one of those times. She couldn't forget - and likely not forgive - all that had been done to her. But knowing it could only get worse pained her, making Lillithria feel as if her stomach began to twist into an aching knot.

And it got worse as Colin finally walked in, words she'd hoped to never hear soon catching her ears.

"Transport's here. Ready for a trip?"

Her head almost instantly shook no, her hands pushing herself off the bed and moving back as an adrenaline rush shot through her. Soon, she felt her back against the wall. It'd likely been subconscious, but part of Lillithria had been convincing herself this was all a bluff, that he wouldn't really go through with selling her. But now that he'd come in to take her away ... the same feelings of dread and fear swept right back through the dhampir. She inwardly blamed what humanity still remained within her, otherwise her emotions would be in far better control.

"No ... I'm not." She replied, gripping her lower lip with her teeth. She bit harder, part of her wanting to beg, somehow plea, to stop this all. But would it even make a difference? Part of her doubted it though even if it did, her pride kept her silent. Lillithria already felt pathetic and weak enough as it was. She didn't want to degrade herself any further. No, she'd give anything to just ... snap her fingers and disappear, go back to her more typical life.

But gods help her, she did not want to go to the transport. Hell and no!

The bounty hunter at the door let his arms drop to his sides as he let out a sigh. "You're going to make this difficult, aren't you?" Just what he didn't need at that moment, a difficult bounty. She had been staying so peacefully in her room for the past few hours that he was partly expecting her to snap and decide to lash out at her captor. But the man lived in a state of eternal hope, it seemed. Although he didn't want to deal with her like this, he was expecting it and was ready for it, just in case. As it was, she made it easier for him by backing herself up into a corner, giving him a chance to grab her without worrying about her escaping in another direction. Colin rolled his eyes and came forward, not bothering to stop and sooth her in any way.

"You knew this was coming," he half mocked, pulling at her thoughts without even needing to hear them. With natural speed, the man was across the room, a hand wrapped around the woman's arm before he tightened his grip, eyes narrowing ever so slightly, threatening her to stay still and move with him. "I really have no idea what they want with you, but you must have done something bad." His dark eyes ran over the woman's body carefully, trying to figure it out from just a look. His gaze caught on the woman's lip as she gave it a light bite, eyes narrowing slightly as he studied the motion, watching carefully before brushing her hair over her shoulder. His hands moved to pin the woman to the wall, leaning his body against hers, eyes sliding half closed as he watched the gentle skin at her neck. "Tradition, you know?" he muttered softly. "I always take a taste of my bounties before I had them over." A sly smile slid over his lips before using that speed again and ducking down, sinking his teeth into her neck and tasting the blood coming out from under her skin.

Don't just stand there, idiot! She could feel her ankles had tensed up, prepared and even eager to try to run away. Go, run! But it was like she couldn't, as if her feet were planted to the floor or something of the like. And by the time she'd mustered up enough courage to even consider going along with her desires, a firm grip upon her arm registered, making her hiss in agony. "Ngh ... " Heavy breaths left through her nose, refusing to let out more than the winces that had already escaped.

Her head turned as the mock on this happening would eventually come was heard, followed by an irked scoff. "They're just pathetic bastards who can't deal with anything on their own so they hire you ... " She replied, the same hints of venom and ice entering her voice. So what if it was out of place? He clearly wasn't about to change his mind so why should Lillithria?

The sensation of her hair being moved - and not from herself at that rate - made her head look back. Her mind began trying to register the new words.

"Tradition, you know? I always take a taste of my bounties before I hand them over."

"...You ... you would ..... agh!"

Even with all of the fights she'd been in against other vampires, none had gotten this pleasure before. Lillithria had always assumed it hurt but never would have guessed to this degree. Her body shook and tensed up, quick pants and gasps leaving as blood began to leave with each passing second his fangs stayed buried in her skin.

Another thing no vampire - or person at that matter - had been able to obtain, Colin would taste, was her purity. And because of her innocence remaining, it'd taste far more sweeter than most others he'd had in a long while, more likely than not.

Woh. The taste that came to the man's tongue was something he had never had before. There was a tug in the back of his mind, something that often happened when he had moments of deja vu, but he swiftly ignored it, just to get more of he flavour. He could easily devour this woman from the inside out and drink her dry, but that wouldn't do either of them much good. Colin wouldn't get his money and he would loose the source of the delicious liquid now cowering in front of him. By the sound of her cry, she had never been fed on before, which was just an added bonus according to the man. He could show her so many ways to feed... and not have to worry about someone else spoiling her with their fangs. No chance of her having another vampire's poison in her. It was rare to find a vamp who could do that, but there were a few out there...

With a quick flash of thought, the man carefully removed his mouth from her neck, licking at the marks left there as his eyes slid closed, savouring the taste still lingering on his tongue. He was kind enough to continue to hold Lillithria up, leaning her against his body even to keep her on her feet. He may have taken a bit much, leaving her in a weakened state, but still very much alive. Dhampir blood was just as good as the tales said it was... Colin smirked at the thought running through his head. He never thought he would be alive long enough to find and taste one, but now he had one in his grasp. He wasn't about to let this girl go. Not that easily.

Colin moved carefully towards the bed, leading Lillithria with him to lay her on the bed and leave the room. She would stop bleeding soon so she wouldn't die, but the man had other business to attend to outside of this room. As soon as he left, those waiting for him knew something had changed in his mind and the negotiations began for Lillithria. The boss wasn't pleased with his idea to keep her there under his watch, but as soon as he mentioned training her to be a bounty hunter, to work for the man just as Colin was, he seemed a bit more into the idea.

Those with the bounty on her weren't pleased by that idea, but with two hunters standing in the room, both of a high level of skill, there wasn't much he could do if he still wanted to work with them in the near future. As long as Lillithria would be watched and not get in his way, giving no details as to how she was in his way, they could come to an agreement. He tossed over the money pouch for the two men and left, leaving them to divide the money before the boss left the room.

Colin sighed, locking the door behind them. The woman's scent was still there, as if she was standing right in front of him. His eyes slid closed, licking his lips carefully, the animalistic side of him growing at just the memory of the taste. He wanted to drain her. He wanted more of that taste. But he knew better... if Colin let Lillithria live, he would have a greater chance of tasting more of her for a longer period of time. It was smarter in the long run, as long as he could convince the animal within to keep to the agreement.

He left the bedroom door open, letting Lillithria have a chance to leave the room once she woke up. Her prison was no longer that room; it was the apartment. Possibly the world outside, but that would come with time and trust.

Lillithria's eyes closed, multiple curses running through her head. She hadn't thought of many ways this could have gone from annoying to worse .. but it just did that. Anger and fury swam through the dhampir. In her mind, she may as well have lost her innocence. She'd taken great pride to have avoided doing this for so long .. and now, some random vampire got to her. The pain alone plus the emotions going through her was more than enough to make her want to cry. But she wouldn't; not in front of Colin, anyways.

God-fucking-damnit ....

Really, since when had vampires put bounties upon people to begin with? It must be a hell of a discreet issue because this was something Lillithria had never heard of before. Her eyes shot wide open as his tongue rolled over the wound. For a bit, she'd thought it to be meant as a sensual action. Maybe it was a mild and secondary motive but first and foremost, she felt the puncture holes fade away. A small sigh of relief left as she swallowed, feeling no change had taken place. So it'd meant he merely fed from her, not made her go from half to full vampire. And even with all the new powers it'd give her, there was one easy reason she knew Lillithria wouldn't have liked it.

She'd literally be his - in pretty much every aspect. It'd get her as close to being insane as possible, knowing that she'd owe and have to obey the bastard.

By the time he led her towards the bed, her pulse quickened again.

Fuck, he's not really going to .. is he .. ??

It'd be more than easy enough with her feeling anything but well. Whether it'd been luck, mercy, some odd combination of both though ... he didn't go through with what she'd been fearing. Instead, Colin simply got up ... and left?

Once again, Lillithria was so very confused, though her anger hadn't fully left at all. In fact, it still remained, it just wasn't as dominant through her as the sensation of being bewildered.

Her body trembled lightly as she forced herself to her feet, walked out of the bedroom, and - stupid as it seemed to her head - sought out Colin. "Mind .. filling me in? Now what's going on?" She asked, leaning against the closest wall for support, not wanting to fall on her feet.
