Verona her name was, she remembered that. Her name had stuck in her mind through it all. Over time she felt there was something more but she did not know where to start. She was sitting up on the bed in the small hotel. She had traveled to London something called to her for some reason, she felt like she needed to be there. Her hazel eyes looked out the window that was in front of her, it was night now and barley any movement was outside.

"Silent as a hunter before they capture there pray" she sighed and stood up and walked over to the small desk In the room. She grabbed the small black brush and ran the brush through her auburn hair undoing the small knots in her hair. She looked at the mirror "why cant I see my reflection?" she asked herself, she only could see the blue blouse that was reflected in the mirror. She blinked setting the brush down on the chest again. She grabbed her keys and her pink wallet and went to the door, she turned the handle and swung the door open. She smiled as the chilled air hit her face and swept her hair back a bit. She stepped out onto the parkinglot/walkway and shut the door behind herself and looked the door. She went to her blue 08 Malibu and unlocked the drivers door and slid inside.

The air...It had a certain...scent in it. A familiar scent...A scent that had awakened memories that had been long forgotten. Looking out the window of what was now his estate atop of a hill, Dracula, known publicly as Nathan Stone to humans, could smell something very familiar in the wind. "I she...Alive...?" He questioned. Nathan stood up from his bed and walked over to the window and opened it. The sun was bright. And he loved feeling its warmth across his skin. "Heh..." He twisted his hand over and over as if trying to cook it in the sun. "Warmth...Sunlight...How primitive...Yet advanced." He shook his head. "Like we...In the old time, we would burn immediately...but we've adapted finally...It only took us two millenniums...possibly more, but even I cannot recall that far back..." He laughed lightly. 'Humans have lost such a powerful tool to use against us, but that just means they'll find more ways to kill us. Now then...What is this scent I smell...? Is it Verona...? Is she alive...?' He couldn't quite tell. The scent was familiar and it had been long since he smelled Verona. "If she is here...she will find my estate and come to me..."

Verona sighed and closed the driver side door. Her hands clasped the steering wheel as she turned to car on with the key and it roared to life. She reversed the car and drove into the street, She sighed a bit her mind wandered as she drove. She drove to a small gas station and parked and got out. She walked towards the doors and went in she immediately went to the cold drinks and grabbed a favorite of hers labeled a Sobe flavored strawberry daiquiri. She went over to the counter and paid and quickly walked out before any other people could talk to her, males especially liked to talk to her, flirting with her. She could not stand it she hated it. She went back to the car and got in she slid into the drivers side seat and closed the door and twisted open the cap and brought the drink to her lips. She hissed feeling the sharp pain that came with some weird images she kept having recently.

Soon, Nathan descended from the top of his estate and went out for a walk. He usually walked down the hill toward the town below him, and smiled all the while. But this hid his true sorrow. He had lost so much due to the lapses of time. He used to have a castle, filled with followers that bowed to him...and a wife, and many mistresses. 'I think its because of those mistresses that she left me to begin with...Tch....Ungrateful...' He sighed and looked back at his estate. It was marvelous in terms of the modern era of the world now, but...It still wasn't making him happy. He was alone. Many of his followers dispersed and others were killed. Some are still within the town, and they would often pay their respects to their old king whenever they would see him walk by in the town. He wished that at least one of his mistresses had stayed so he would have some company but even they moved on once he began to fall from grace. 'Its all because she left...Tch...I've never been the same ever since Verona left...' He would walk across the street from where she was, and the entire time he had a nagging feeling that he couldn't quite explain.

She sighed and took two pills from a bottle in her glove compartment and drank down the drink. She slid out and went to the trash can and placed it in the trash can and went back to her car. She sighed and stood for a moment with her door ajar, her hand placed on the door as she shook a bit. "Miss are you ok?" the other cars driver a male looked at her going to her. She shook her head a bit "Ye..yeah I am" she said and slid into the seat and closed the drivers side door.

His senses were being flooded. 'Turn back...Turn back and find her...' His conscious was speaking to him. He turned around, almost instinctively and began to walk on the same side of the street she was on. The sensations were growing stronger...and stronger...and stronger...Until he stopped in front of her car. He held his head, the voices there were overwhelming. 'Dammit all to hell, Cain...Why must our bloodline be cursed? Or rather mine to the point I can hear all my ancestors if I reach deep to my roots...?' He sighed. The voices in his head were making it hard for him to hear himself think. Then he saw her. In the car in front of him...The voices went silent as he seemed to just stare at Verona. "V-Verona...?"

She blinked as she heard her name being said. Her eyes traced to where the sound came from, she saw the male and blinked. She shook her head as she bit her bottom lip 'why did he look familiar?' she thought to herself "no just a mistake" she mumbled to herself. She looked in her rear view mirror as she tried to force herself to put the car in reverse but her hands would not move. She looked back at the male her hazel eyes turning Ice blue, like when they did when she was angry or hungry like in old times.

'Those eyes...Its definitely her...' "Verona...Its you..." He looked around. Barely anyone was around. Just some passerbys and people driving by. "Verona its you...Its been so long...Centuries since I've last seen you..." He reached out slowly as if trying to touch her face. He just...He just needed to see if she was real. If she was really there, and his mind was not playing tricks on him. He touched her cheek. "So real...Its really you...I'm not cracking down after all..."

"Do I know you?" she asked stepping back from him not knowing really how this guys was. She raised a eyebrow and placed a hand on her car to steady herself. She blinked her hand shaking a bit as she watched him. Her hands reached into her pant pocket reaching for her small switchblade she carried for self-defense.

"You don't remember me...?" He frowned. But that soon went away. This was an opportunity. She doesn't remember? Why? Did something happen? 'No matter...I can use this...I can get my wife back...Yes...I can get her back and regain power within the world and return the vampiric kin to power...' He smirked. "Verona...You may not remember me....but you've lost your memory haven't you?" He reached into his pocket to pull out a small pocketbook and tore out a page. Then he proceeded to write on the page his address and handed it to her. "If you would like answers...come to this address...I will await you." He smiled and turned, leaving her and heading back to his home on the hill.

She blinked as she was handed a piece of paper and read what was on it. "answers..." she mumbled to herself and got back into her car. She reversed the car and drove into the street and back to the hotel. She got out parking and locking the car, she walked up to the door and unlocked it. She went inside and as soon as she closed the door she leaned against it, her breathing shakey "What the hell is wrong with me... why do I fee like I know him.." she thought to herself "the journal" she quickly walked to the desk and grabbed a small leather bound book and began flipping through the pages.

Nathan smiled as he stood on a balcony overlooking the ocean from his hill. He grinned. She was back...and she would be drawn to him. She was without purpose...and he could give her purpose. "And it would be as my bride...Or rather my perfect wife...I won't allow her to run off again...Once I regain my empire, I will take the world by storm now that we can live through the day...it will be a war with humans but first things first...My wife must learn the proper ways of being my wife...and possibly even a vampire."

Verona flipped through the pages and stopped, she read the description "the dream walker" she mumbled, she sat down reading the pages she had hand written. Her hand going up to the pendant necklace. The pendant was unusual a large red ruby it almost seemed like the ruby was not solid at point but looked like blood flowing. She kept reading the pages as she twirled the pendant between her pointer finger and thumb 'so he is real?' she thought to herself.

He could feel it. She was thinking about him. It empowered him. It made him glad...happy...joyous...He grinned and thought about her as well, hoping that the blood they shared from him turning him would bring her to him. 'Come to me, Verona...Come to your master...your husband...your king...your lover...Come to me...Let me show you the way...Come to me...Come to me...' He was hoping she would hear his thoughts and influence her to come to him.

Verona blinked and shut the journal and walked out "I got to find out" she mumbled to herself as she left her hotel room and walked outside and locked the hotel room door. She got in her car and looked at the address written, she sighed "come one Verona..he said he can answer" she mumbled to herself as she started the car and drove into the street and towards the address written on the paper. Soon she was pulling into the drive way and parked. She sat inside her car for a couple of minutes her hands gripping the steering wheel.

But she wouldn't have to wait for Verona to come inside. He was already opening his door, and walked out to greet her. "Ah...Verona...It has been a long...long time." Thought to her, it would have only been a few hours...but for him, it was centuries. He smiled and waited for her to get out of the car, and would lead her inside to teach her. What she was...Who he was...Who she was, and what she was to him...Everything.

She opened the door and wearily got out of her car, her hazel eyes back now as she looked at him "how do you know me?" she asked him "cause I don't remember you at all" she said to him still having her drivers side door opened still, just in case she felt threatened and needed to flee.

He simply grinned. "You'll need to take my word for it...But let me ask you something...Do you ever feel threatened whenever you're in sunlight, even though there is no threat at all? Do churches often make you weary? Do you not have a reflection in the mirror?" He grinned widely and turned, leaving her with that. He went to the front door and opened it, and headed inside...leaving the doorway open for her to come and inquire what he was going on about.

She blinked 'how did he?' she though to herself. She watched him walked back in towards his house 'well then fine make a girl feel uncomfortable' she thought again. She stood there for a moment deciding whether or not to go inside, he had not really invited her in just left the door open. Every bone in her body was saying run but her mind was telling her to stay.

'Follow him...Follow me...Follow the man...' He would send more voices to her head, urging her to follow him. He was waiting for her. He prepared something...He kept paintings of the two of them. They were made by excellent artists...to the point where they seemed like photographs but with paint. He had a few of them lined along a wall in a room and it would show the two of them clearly, happy and obviously loving one another.

Verona shook her head "fuck" she mumbled and went forward shutting the car door and going in. She stopped seeing the paintings and blinked. "what the?" she mumbled as she looked at him. Her eyes turning there Ice blue "who the fuck are you? why do you have paintings of me?! are you a fucking stalker?!" with every question her voice gout a bit louder and more alluring like a sirens. her hand instantly went to the blade in her pocket. Her feet where placed in a natural fighters stance as her Ice blue eyes looked at him.

"Are you certain you don't remember everything?" The man said with a smile as he walked toward her, not even what you really are?" He grinned. "You may be wondering what we are. Both of us. And I find it odd that you only focus on the paintings being of you and not even including me." He laughed lightly and turned his back to her for a moment before turning back. He could already assume she was ready to get hostile. If she had some sort of weapon, it wouldn't really matter. He began to walk toward her. "Go on. Attack me...It won't do anything."

She did have the weapon in hand but it landed on the floor with a 'clank'. She hissed as another pain came to her, this one strong that it dropped her to her hands and knees. "what the hell is happening to me?" she asked out loud as she tries to control her breathing that had went rapid from the pain. Her nails grew a bit as she had them on the floor leaving little scratch marks. Her Icey eye looked at his again "I don't remember a name but I have seen your face before in dreams"

"I am your husband, Verona...In the modern era, I am simply known as the recluse Nathan Stone who sits upon his estate, high in the hills...But many before have known me by my real name, Dracula." He grinned and reached his hand out for her to take. "And you are my bride...Verona, I have missed you so much. I missed you...You were once lost to me and I thought you to be long gone...but it seems now that you are back, and now I can take you in my arms and begin my empire once more."

She blinked and shook her head "I would have remembered marrying someone...wait Dracula? the blood sucking male who prays on women and had no regards for his brides feelings Dracula.." she completely ignored the hand and stood up on wobbly legs. She shook her head "uhhu this is al a joke right?" she looked around without moving "where are the cameras? this is got to be some sort of joke"
