  • The information processing center of Itsuki's brain came to a screeching halt.

She had just glanced back over over shoulder and saw Lin standing under an umbrella being held by whatever that thing beside her was, and the next minute, there was a young man there shooing 'Shawn' away. He asked about brothels. And said something about threesomes. For a moment, she forgot that they were in the middle of a city and balled of her fist. Her body shifted backward, a wide, and powerful movement, and she prepared to let loose on the man, but she paused. Not because she remembered where she was, but because of the 'presence' that this man had. Though he looked different, talked differently, smelled differently, and certainly wasn't the young woman that she met in the bar, there was something about this man and Lin that was. . .similar? No. It was exactly the same. And that made her even more nervous about being around him. Or her. Or whoever this was. And that other thing? Where did it go? There was too much happening at once, and it was starting to overwhelm the young ogre.

Itsuki's breath's grew heavy as stared up at the man's face. For just a moment, he would be able to catch a glimpse of the unnatural, cat like optics staring up at him. Under her cloak, her hand shifted up towards her chest where the amulet that contained her weapon was worn. She hadn't even asked a question yet, but it she felt the least bit threatened, she didn't want to waste a moment arming herself. From what she could tell, he was just a human. That meant if she hit him hard enough and fast enough, she could take him out before he could do her any harm. Of course, it then became a matter of fleeing from the city and the people who would no doubt pursue. How she hoped that such a thing didn't happen. If she were caught, she would be killed for certain. Humans weren't exactly fond of her kind, for reasons that she knew and understood far more than she wished she had.

"Who tha hell're you? And where did the girl that was standin' there jus'ta few seconds ago go," she said, taking a hesitant step back. If her days in the Dark Army taught her anything, it was to be careful of people that you didn't know. There were times when they raided homes of people who looked to be nothing more than your simple commoner, and you wound up fighting for your life against someone who was far more skilled than someone of their status should have been. She needed answers though - to know how this man was and where the human woman that she was with had gone. More importantly, she needed to know why the two of them had the exact same feeling. No two beings had identical matches, not even twins! Which meant that. . .no. It wasn't possible that. . .[/list:u]

Valen stared as brand moved over and hugged Arioch, his eyes widening slightly, he could see the fury written across her face, and was glad she didn't simply slug him in the face as would any other self respecting elf. Valen knew the Elven taboos, some of which he didn't care for, but he still abided by. The male gave Brand a scolding look as Ari left, before getting ready to leave for himself.

Once Valen found his form suitably clean, so he stood in the water, it seemed as if everyone else had left, so Valen decided he should at least prepare to meet with the King, much as he did quite often. Valen knew the King well, he knew that the King would be unwilling to provide aid for them, confident that his forest would protect his people. Valen sighed and glanced over at Brand, shaking his head a little "Brand, you should go apologize to Arioch as soon as you are dried off and clothed, Elves really aren't big on hugs, physical contact isn't something strangers do here." Brand was likely used now to being scolded by Valen over matters like this, Valen didn't blame Brand at all, he likely didn't know about their little taboos, though Valen was surprised that Brand was still so clumsy even though he had grown from the shortest amongst the knight's ranks to the tallest. "I am going to go find her now, I am also a little worried about Altima"

Valen stood fully and turned around, grasping his towel, his eyes flashing in their golden color as the wind picked up, a sharp whistle and rustle from the above trees as a sudden gust blew through them filled the air, the wind wrapping around Valen's body, lifting his long hair away from his form and blowing the water from his body. Valen's hair separated as the wing blew through it, the water that once coated his body ending up in the air in millions of little droplets, droplets that rained down everywhere. Valen smiled absently, amused with his little display, it would be a while before he would be able to smile again, it seemed the coming weeks, months, even years ahead of him would be difficult... if he survived them of course.

Valen stepped out of the bath, tying up his hair as he walked with a fresh towel along his waist. Valen didn't notice or even care about the looks he got from the elves, he had known them as liberal creatures, though the inner forest elves proved to be quite opposite. Valen was actually used to people staring at his form, many elves didn't... Valen at times didn't known to be relieved or insulted, he didn't particularly care for being looked down upon, he would be getting a lot of that soon, the highest of the high elves would be the ones he would be sharing company with... at least they respected him for his deeds even with his racial "handicap"

Valen walked away from the bath to his room. The male took his time getting dressed, pulling on his silken undergarments and his Mithril shirt, followed by the other layers and pieces of his outfit. Valen put up his hair into a ponytail and straightened his hair out, finally deciding to just give up and let it loose. Valen emerged from his room and walked away from the Inn, it didn't take him long to find Ari and Alli, they stood out, or at least Allie did. The male approached the two women, not interrupting their conversation, Altima mentioned that her sister was trying to spend time with her, something valen never understood why she avoided. The male nodded to the two females, waiting till Altima was done talking, then Ari. "Altima, brand should be with us soon, are you ready to speak with the king?"

Valen was willing to do anything that the two or his other two companions wanted to do before he spoke with the King, they would have to leave soon.

It made him smile to know that their companion was willing to join them on such a dangerous and outnumbered journey. But soon after, he was scolded for his careless acts upon Arioch. Valen scolded him plenty of times in the past, so he was used to it. The youngest knight had always been clumsy, breaking things here and there, doing things that were just painful to watch at timesâ?¦ so yes, being scolded was a common thing from the others.

But it never made it any less disheartening to hear.

It wasnâ??t like he didnâ??t try, either. He just wanted to help keep everyoneâ??s mood out of the dark.

Left alone in the water, he sullenly stared down at the warm liquid, slightly cloudy from the steam, but overall, still rather clear. Barely a reflection was to be had, but he could still see a blob of pale flesh and blonde hair. Pressing his lips together, he willed hard to collect himself, as it would not do to meet with the others with a frown on his lips or marring his forehead. A little moment alone wouldnâ??t hurt though, since they had all scrambled out anyways. Swirling his hand within the water before him, the blonde just mindlessly stared at the water, his expression blank and lacking the uplifted aura that seemed to just stick to him as if he was smoking the same crack that Valen was.

Chin upâ?¦ not like itâ??s the end of the worldâ?¦ he mentally told himself, standing up after a few moments and moved to grab for his towel to dry off. Once he was dried, he moved to dress in his clothes, and began to tread towards the room that Tsuâ??Ro had mentioned. Brand knew that they were going to counsel together, and if Valen wanted to meet the girls outwards instead of back at the innâ??it saved time, he supposedâ??he noted that their fifth companion was still lingering inside.

The 12th room was at a corner, where a large basin mirror resided. My ass looks fatâ?¦ he thought, as he knocked on the wooden door. â??Tsuâ??Ro? Weâ??re heading out now, and I was wondering if youâ??re ready to come with?â? he called out, giving the door another three rapid knock and waited. Despite the mood from before, his tone was back to the perky and upbeat sound that he seemed to always have with him, by the time he had spoken up. Once heâ??d recruit the Naturalist with them, Tsuâ??Ro and himself would find their way towards Valen and the others, so that they could find a pub somewhere to discuss things.

Damn, she didnâ??t agreeâ?¦ Nao thought with a bit of a pout. Instead of pushing the matter though, as he was a bit worried about getting into a fight when he didnâ??t need to fight, he leaned away from her and grinned. â??You mean your friend? She went somewhere that way.â? he pointed towards a random direction. â??Iâ??ll go get her for you~â?

And without another word, he bounced off like some fat kid chasing a bag of candy. Of course he couldnâ??t just stop at a close distance and let it be that, but then again, he didnâ??t think that going too far would be a good idea. The man was nowhere near drunk enough that he wanted to be though, and despite the fact that he was going to go find someoneâ??no one, reallyâ??he got distracted by a large sign that indicated he had turned towards a pub.

A hand made of complete shadow seemed to press against his chest, but it was quickly ignored and shoved aside, as he made his way into the area. A message was conveyed that the shadows didnâ??t want him to drink, and wouldnâ??t he just sound crazy if he told that to someone? But Nao wasnâ??t in the mood to care, as he stumbled into the area and ordered a drink. This was fine though, right? Because if he just came back right away to Itsuki, then it wouldnâ??t have seemed like he chased and looked for someone. Plus, he didnâ??t want to reveal his flaw, since if she was that interested in Linâ?¦ then why not attempt to get something out in that direction, if this one wasnâ??t working? Sure, that had never been done beforeâ?¦ but thereâ??s a first time for everything.

Two gold pieces were placed down in the bartenderâ??s cup, which was happily met back with two large mugs of the strongest stuff. It would be a good starter, but he wasnâ??t sure if he cared it was cheap crap or the most delicious wine. For a good three minutes, he just sat there and nursed the mugs, drinking from one, then the other, then back to the first. Two minutes later and he was up and walking around the bar. One minute later and he was grinding against some random people. Three minutes later and heâ??s practically dry humping the table. One minute before his mug is refilled for the third time, and heâ??s out running like the demons are at his heel.

â??Young master, please wait! I bring a message from your family!â? called the squire, chasing after the drunken and surprisingly fast man.

The blonde male was running wildly without thought, bouncing around the streets and searching for a way to lose the man on his tail. Things began to blur for him, the streets all aligned with cobble stone and either wooden or stone buildings. It was very modern in the sense of their day, and at a point in time, he could have seen that this place was militarized. The bazaar was the first place he had ran pass, and he only realized that because he had ran right into a chicken selling stand and sent the coops flying open.

Running with a baby chick in his arms, he dashed passed an inn as he continued running from the persistent squire.

  • Itsuki had been caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the male, and his. . .odd presence. But he said that Lin had gone and walked off in another direction. So why was her guardian still standing there, holding the umbrella up for the male? Why hadn't this "Shawn" gone with the young woman he was supposedly looking out for? Though she was many things, the last thing Itsuki happened to be was stupid. None of these things were adding up, and now, she was sitting outside of the tavern alone, waiting for the man to return with Lin. Lin was the first person that she had been able to speak to and have a decent conversation with in a long time, to it made sense that she would have wanted to stick around the young woman, right? No. . .this was stupid. She knew that once the young woman saw her for what she was, she would likely be chased away by whatever the thing that traveled around with her was. Yes, it would be for the best if she just disappeared now. At least this way, she would remain a stranger and there would be no connection between the two of them.

As she rose to her feet, she could feel someone bump into her, and a hand moving along her abdomen. A pick pocket no doubt. The force of the initial bump was hard enough to make her tip backward, as her footing wasn't yet stable. And that? That lead to her hood sliding backward enough to reveal her face to the pick pocket. Once he had what he wanted, he reached up and grabbed her hood, then yanked it back to reveal her to the world - cat like eyes and gold horns and all. Seeing that made the people on the street stop, and all eyes immediately fell upon her.

    "Awww. . . .shit. . . ."

Itsuki did not linger. She didn't wait for anyone to ask any questions. No matter what she said, their thoughts on her presence in their town were written all over their faces. She wasn't welcome here. Her kind wasn't welcome here, and she was going to disappear, one way or another. Without a word, she took off running. She didn't stay on the street though. She jumped up onto the nearest vendor's stand and used it as a foot hold to jump up onto the nearest building nearby. Once her feet touched the roof, she took off running once more. She couldn't stop, she couldn't pause, she couldn't look back, and she definitely couldn't come back to this place. Not after this. It was too dangerous, too risky. There was a crowd of people on the street who were following after her with their swords and pitchforks at the ready, waiting for a chance to strike the young Ogre down the moment that she slipped up.

Thankfully, she was much faster than they, and had less obstacles in her way. She ran from the crowded streets of the markets to the residential area, where there were less people, less armed men who could pose a threat to her life, standing between herself and freedom. It was too dangerous to continue running along the rooftops now, as it would only draw more attention, so she jumped back down on the road way and made a mad dash for the Southern Gates of the small kingdom. So long as she passed through those gates, she could get away.[/list:u]

"Hmm?" Altima looked over at Valen as he appeared after their conversation was over and nodded to him. "alright." she said and continued to look out over the balcony and thought just about what she could do to help out, she didn't want to reveal her royal heritage to them just yet but it might be time to do so? "You look like you're ready for it." She grinned wryly at Valen. "isn't that all terribly uncomfortable?" she continued to grin a little, nudging the eldest knight with an finger in a playful fashion. "From what I've heard he may not even listen to what we have to say unless trouble comes knocking on his door itself though." Ally sighed.

"I'm as ready to go as I'm going to be." She finally said and leaned on the railing with her arms crossed, thinking for a moment as the wind blew her hair around, making it look like a golden curtain. "Ack!" she said, noticing it and sighed and turned around and began to re-braid the length of it in a thick fashion. "Having long hair is such a pain in the ass..." She said with a laugh. "But I'd look horrible with short hair." Ally said. "What do you think val? Long hair or short?" Ally asked, wanting to lighten the atmosphere.

It would take her some time to get it back into a style where it was more or less out of her face, though she was dressed for the occasion at the very least. Wwearing black pants with a red and gold trimmed tunic and soft leather boots, having removed her armor so she didn't look threatening to go meet with the royalty of Cam at least. It would leave a bad impression if she did.

So master, did you have fun at the baths? Was reuniting with your old comrades as fulfilling as you wanted it to be? Firu asked as the other stepped into the room. Oh....I guess...I sensed some tension between myself and the others. Probably a bit of suspicion as the king has blackened my name quite a bit. But that is understandable, for it has been quite some time...between us. Who knows if I'm the same or not. I was never one to be honest about my identity anyhow...and with the things I've done...I'm not even sure if I'm the same. Tsu answered with a regretful smile as he ran his fingers through the ends of his damp dark hair. However...Brand still seemed the same...as trusting as ever...We always did have a closer bond than Valen, Altima, and I. I guess because he was so kind and accepting I felt I could open up to him... finally have someone know something about the real me instead of hiding behind some fake persona conjured up out of the desire for someone to talk to me.

As the demon thought, he wandered across the room getting together his things, tossing on pieces of his clothing as he did. Tsu sighed heavily once he was done packing. He then slipped into his cloak, before collapsing onto his bed. He dozed off rather quickly, the anxiety and fatigue of finally meeting up with old comrades sneaking up on him. Tsu sank into the comfort of the bed, the worries upon his mind of the past years seeming to float away--slowly shifting into new worries of the separated land. As long as their is turmoil, I will have a purpose... that seems a bit selfish though...the world shouldn't have to suffer because my destiny is unclear to me... Sudden knocks, thrust the demon back into reality. Thoughts about the collapsing land falling out of his mind as Z's voice projects through the wooden door. It's about time you came to... Firu speaks to the other as he watches the male sit up on the bed in a bit of a haze. "Coming." Tsu announces as he adjusts his cloak upon his shoulders.

Crossing the room, the demon opens the door, a small smirk curving his lips. "Yes...I'm as ready as I'll ever be..." he replied as he adjusted the strap of his bag as Firu'en slipped passed his legs and into the hall beside the half-elf. Tsu'Ro slips his hood on as he shuts the room door. "Before you speak...I just feel more comfortable with it on. I'm still having a bit of a hard time adjusting with everyone staring at me is all..." Tsu said with another small smile. "After years of hiding....I suppose it has become as bad a habit as Valen's smoking..." he added with a soft chuckle.

Lips had parted just for the same purpose that Tsuâ??Ro had stopped him from doing, as the other male seemed more comfortable with hiding his face. Brand frowned at that, a bit confused as to why the Naturalist was still self-conscious of his looks, when he was gorgeous. However, he smiled in understanding, as he stepped in front of Tsuâ??Ro and reached both hands out. Slender fingers adjusted the hood, smoothing the edges out between fingers and brushing back the brunetteâ??s hair. The skin was just as smooth as he remembered, reminding him of silk rather than an aged warrior. Then again, so was his, and they both werenâ??t that old compared to the others.

Brand pressed a kiss to Tsuâ??Roâ??s forehead, still affectionate as ever, since he was used to the others lavishing affection on him. â??Learn to go without the hood.â? he nearly demanded, tone still pleading, and hating that a habit could steal conscious actions away like that poisonous tobacco did with Valen. After a moment of what felt like to be a long silence, he cleared his throat. â??We should find the others.â? the blonde turned and motioned towards both Tsuâ??Ro and the tiger to follow. On the way out of the inn though, he was asked to pay for the service, which made him pout as he shuffled out a few pieces of gold. There goes candy moneyâ?¦ such a sad thought.

He attempted to make small talk with the other male as they wandered out of the inn and into the streets around them. It wasnâ??t hard to find Valen and the others, but it took a few turns here and there, and a moment to backtrack, since he took a left instead of a right. During which, he random would reach down and pet Firuâ??s head, wanting to get to know the creature that had befriended Tsuâ??Roâ??while silently praying that his hand would be spared as a meal. Once the others came into view though, he smiled brightly with a â??Told you Iâ??d find themâ? grin.

He heard the end tail of what Valen said, and nodded in agreement with talking to the Elvin King. â??Perhaps we should head into a tavern?â? because he wasnâ??t sure if Altima wanted to publically announce whatever she had to say.

Altima stood on the balcony, thinking of the best way to call on the elven king. She herself was a princess and may have a way to sway the king's opinion. She was thinking that she could offer a possible alliance between Alusair and the Elven Capitol. But she'd have to look the part as well- they would all have to be presentable. turning to the other two knights, Arioch and Tsu'ro she'd speak up again:

"I have a possible way to at the very least get us in to see the king posthaste." Ally started off, carefully phrasing her words. "But we'll have to look the part. I have an old dress made for me by my elder sister that I'll wear, just play along okay?" She said and pushed past them carefully and returned to her room in the inn. In another fifteen minutes, she'd take the time to comb her hair out to straighten it and changed her clothing. But it was very interesting to see her dancing around trying to get the dress on as she wasn't comfortable wearing them entirely.

She'd return to the group wearing a full length blue satin dress with intricate cross-lacing on the bodice with gold trim. It was full and accentuated all the right areas of her lithe muscular body without being too tight or too long. Around her head she wore a gold circlet that had three exquisite wrought white metal feathers that angled back past her ears. Altima felt utterly stupid in the thing but she wore it well and looked very regal in the outfit.

"I found it in my pack when I last left home, might as well use it. How do I look?" Ally asked, holding her arms out and turning around a bit and sounded a bit girlish.

Yes, Tsu was gorgeous...but it is that same beauty that causes so much pandemonium to happen in his existence. The mere thought of having his hood off was overbearing on his mind~ The only reason his cloak was off at all was because Firu wouldn't give it back after the demon had washed it clean of blood. And the only reason he didn't scatter from the baths was because Brand had called his name...literally ceasing all the chaos in his tattered mind. Tsu'Ro bit down on his lip roughly, as he fought back the urge in his slender legs to collapse. He gulped softly as he watched Brand reach forward, his delicate fingers smoothing out his slightly crinkled up hood. He felt his whole body almost give out when the other's fingers gently caressed his cool skin whilst brushing back his dark hair. He really was...the same person after so many years of separation. Such actions was almost a sensory overload for the demon.

His hazel eyes widened, cheeks flushing a deep maroon as the other placed a kiss upon his forehead. "Uh-huh..." Tsu'Ro replied softly to Brand's pleading demand. However, after that he kind of stayed silent....trying to get his mind together, after the half-elf had gently jumbled up his thoughts with such affectionate behavior he hadn't experienced in...some time. â??We should find the others.â? The tiger growled in response, nodding its head following behind the other. Get your thoughts together master, and let's get moving... Tsu'Ro eventually started walking after the two...once he got his mind somewhat off of being so fixated upon the kiss that was placed on his forehead.

Tsu'Ro eventually got his thoughts straight as they made it down to the lower level of the inn, when Brand had to pay a fee. His brow furrowed a bit, as he wondered why he was the one paying...and so much too. Tsu did talk a little as he followed the other. It seemed they had gotten somewhat lost, and had to go several different ways before they made it out. Firu'en nuzzled Brand's hand as he was pet. He wasn't a violent beast.... he was only that way when Tsu was being threatened in some kind of way. Tsu smiled a bit when Brand flashed him that grin. There was never a doubt in my mind that you wouldn't have." he said to the half-elf.

Tsu just kind of blended into his surroundings whenever the other's would speak amongst themselves, just kind of zoning out unless their conversation pertained to something he needed to keep in mind for their journey to the Elven king.

â??Young master, waaaiiit~!â? the squire called out, still chasing the young noble.

â??Fuck you!â? he cried out, flipping the other male over his shoulders as he continued to run through the bazaar. The little chick chirped happily as he was allowed to come along for the ride, while Nao continued to hold the little guy in his grasp. There was a noise to the side, screaming and shouting that was more anger than fright. The blonde blinked at that, wondering exactly what was going on. In the corner of his eyes, he could clearly see the person he had been with not a few moments ago. Itsuki, with her red hair flowing in the breeze, dashing madly away from the mob that followed her.

It reminded him that she wasnâ??t treated kindly, due to her heritage. Of course, Nao hadnâ??t known right away, but with the aura around her, her spirit almost speaking to him, he was kindly informed. So engrossed with what little was going on in his mind, he soon found that yes, the ground does come to meet you half way.

A simple trip over a few crates sent him face first into the cobble ground. The little chick was frantic, wildly running around after it had been nearly tossed, before dashing away. Junior! he mentally cried for, sad now that he had lost his little friend. Suddenly, a hand yanked him up by his collar.

â??Sire, this matter is urgent. Lingard has been plagued as of some time, and your familyâ?¦ Young master, a ship awaits us just a few paces beyond the Southern Gates. Please.â?

Slightly dazed, he only listened to half of what the squire was saying. Once caught, it seemed that he had lost a bit of will to keep running, and it took too much energy to run either way. He needed a drink and since the squire wouldnâ??t leave him alone, perhaps returning home for a few rounds of booze wouldnâ??t hurt. Surely, his family could due without him, though? They had done so for the past few years, and should know that Nao wasnâ??t one to stay in one place for too long. Lingard wasnâ??t exactly the ideal place to live either way. Neither a town nor a city, the entire landmark was a nearly endless stretch of river. Miles high above the deadly forestry ground, a snake-like river ran throughout the entire â??cityâ??. Branching around it were homes and small clusters of villages within the city, surrounded by exotic creatures of both river and deadly forest.

Shielded by ancient magic, the area remained safe from the evil King for the time being, and while a perfect place for sanctuary, no one but specific people was allowed in. Decedents of necromancers and a few selected people from the Eastern Kingdom, and before the Eclipse, the Queen of Light had occasionally visited. It wasnâ??t unheard of though, for each area of concentrated magical beings to put up blood barriers. Though strange, as they shield not only outsiders away, but the dangers of their area within the boarders as well.

Exotic things that many have desired to see, yet all very boring for the boy who grew up there.

But.

Back to the point.

â??Well, looks like we have someone thatâ??s going to be coming with us, then, eh, Lukas?â?

â??My name is Johnathan, Sir.â?

â??Right-o, Lukas. To the ship!â? he called out, fumbling as he began to run towards Itsukiâ??s direction. Of course, if he paused just a fraction of a second to grab the oh-so-tempting bottle of rum, then it wasnâ??t his fault. â??Itsuki! I found her! Follow me~â? the blonde nearly collided with the said ogre, a pitchfork nearly spearing him in the ass as he tried to grab onto the redheadâ??s arm. The squire was quick to follow, confused as to who this woman was, but not about to question when he finally had cooperation with the blonde.

With slightly drunken stepsâ??so he might have taken a few swigs of the bottleâ??Nao led her as fast as he could towards the Southern Gates and once out there, they would see the ship to the far left. Grounded, with the mast flapped opened in three arrays of golden sheets. It looked simple and a touch orient based, with â??The Bastardâ? inscribed on the side. Ah, fond memories of when he had scribbled that on there before he had left Lingard.

  • That weirdo again?

Itsuki didn't get why he was running too. At this point, she didn't really care that he found the young woman that she asked him about earlier. She needed to run, and she needed to get away. She did not know if this man was friend or foe, but he took her arm, and ran with her out through the South Gates of Alusair and to the ship that was grounded outside. "The Bastard" was scribbled on the side of it. The name of the ship? Or someone's crude idea of a practical joke? it didn't matter, they were out of the city and this would help her get away. Or it would become the place where she was captured. Only time would tell.

As soon as they were inside of the ship, the squire scurried away, leaving her with. . .him. The strange man. The ship stank of nobility. This wasn't just some passenger ship, not with the intricate carvings in the wood, the seemingly impossible spacious interior, the well upholstered seats. The wood looked expensive as well. Not the cheap kind you usually saw on ships, but expensive looking redwood. Itsuki may have been many things, but stupid was something that she wasn't. Actually, it was quite the opposite.

For the second time today, her hood had fallen down. Itsuki stared up at him, her gold, cat like eyes blinking twice quickly. He didn't say a word, and she didn't say a word. Finally, the ogre sighed and ran her fingers back through her head, expertly avoiding contact with her horns. Today just was not her day. It started off alright, she had some fun, played a drinking game, had a couple of bottles, and she had even made a friend. Then, she disappeared, and instead, there was this guy who looked like he just crawled out of a gutter. A pick pocket stole her money, and yanked down her hood, and now here she was. Ran out of town and into what seemed to be an impossible situation. If, by chance, she ever saw that kid again she'd be sure to rend his head from his body. "Bah. . .ain' no use in puttin' it back up ah take it? Ya see, this' why ah was bein' run down. I ain' exactly the kind of people yer folk like havin' 'round'em. This' too bad. Ah kinda liked that town," she sighed.

"So, now ya know what ya got on yer ship. Gonna kill me now or wait till we get wherever yer goin' and make a spectacle of it? Ah hear those public exectution things are popular now," she said sarcastically, leaning back against a wall. Instinct told her to trash the ship and run, but she wanted to hear this man out, so that she knew his intentions before she did anything crazy. Underneath her cloak, she took hold of the amulet that hung around her neck and traced along it's sides intently. It would remain in her hand until she felt safe once again. "An ya said ya found her. Lin ah mean. Ah take it that was that jus' a lie to get me here?"[/list:u]

Valen folded his arms, closing his eyes and letting a rush of wind blow through his long hair... Altima complained about her hair, but Valen's was nearly to his knees when unbound and not tucked in. "I don't really have a preference... I however keep mine long." Valen was honestly used to having very, very long hair, he had always had long hair, ever since he joined the Kavir monks... it was a tradition, and the elders often had to have multiple bindings for their hair, otherwise it grew too long... beards on the other hand were frowned upon, and Valen ensured he was stubble-free at all times, Valen's hair had actually been at the small of his back, though the length fluctuated every once in a while. The male let the breeze move over him, to him it was relaxing. When Brand appeared and suggested everybody go to the Tavern, Valen shook his head.

"I need to speak with the king soon... he will likely retire for the night at some point, after that we may go to a tavern if you wish brand." Valen smiled at the youngest, his kindly smile almost an apology for scolding him earlier.

"Let me handle this Altima..." Valen shot a look at Allie when she returned wearing a rather elaborate dress, valen decided to avoid comment over that. " They will let me see the king, I have a standing here, for whatever that is worth...I just need you with me... The elves do not know you like they know me, and they do not react kindly to strangers entering their courts, this goes for you too brand, unless you two need absolutely to speak, do not, let me speak with the Elven King..." It seemed harsh, but the elves had a delicacy to conversation... Altima was far too hotheaded, and Brand had a chance to say something clumsy or end up giving the elves another hug. "I would be elated if you were to go with me of course, and having the other two knights with me will be a boon, however I will be doing all the talking, at least this time. The High Elves are incredibly sensitive to many things, I would rather not offend the king."

Without another word Valen leapt up onto the railing of the balcony "Well then, we should get going, the Palace isn't too far off and we should reach the King while he is still holding an audience..." Valen looked the other two knights and their companions "We will probably need to visit the tavern after this, I can almost feel that, but for the time being I pray to the gods we are successful" Valen took a step back into nothing, falling backwards off the rail before righting himself in the air with a flip, dropping down from the balcony to the floor, winds picking up below him and embracing his form, slowing his fall into a pleasant drop before he reached the ground.

"Come on" Valen looked up and gestured towards the stairs behind the balcony, he certainly hoped nobody jumped after him. When he was sure. Valen turned and began towards the royal palace, reaching up and undoing the long golden hair that flowed behind him... he had a regal look in his own, simple way, dressed similarly to a noble without the frilly ties and lace. The outfit gave Valen freedom of movement and at the same time made him look noble and attractive... it was essentially his "civilian" attire, he left his ceremonial robes in Elzier, along with beautiful Paladin armor. Those items remained locked away in a trunk, hidden in a location unknown even to the 3 other knights. Valen gestured in the direction of the palace, it would take a few moments to get there walking, normally he would just climb a tree and glide there, but he didn't have that luxury since he had the other knights and their 2 companions behind them.

-------------------

Once they reached the palace, Valen turned to Arioch "Is there anything else you wish to tell me, anything I can use to gain the king's aid before we go inside?" Valen would listen to what the elf had to say before turning and approaching the Grand Doors. The male was of course intercepted by a couple door guards, elves wearing elaborate armor.

"What business have you here?" The elves recognized the Windwalker's face, the man who on more than one occasion protected the kingdom

"I have come to speak to the king, It is about the continued safety, freedom, and survival of not only the elven kingdoms... But all of Marosia. It is incredibly important I gain an audience with the Tree-Lord immediately." The elven guard was quite visibly startled by the urgency in Valen's voice, the male wasn't acting, and he had no reason to lie at all.

"Very well" The guards parted, allowing Valen and company entrance to the Citadel's throne room.

Valen marched past the guards, gesturing for his allies to follow down a long, well decorated Great Hall... The hall itself was beautiful and natural looking, Valen had always appreciated it's natural beauty. The male again gestured, this time telling the younger knights to hold position as he walked up the first flight of steps before the King of elves. Valen stopped and gazed up at the king, before he even spoke he bowed as elven custom, Holding his right arm over his chest and bowing his head and closing his eyes. Though many elves only did a shoulder bow, Valen's was deeper, more respectful in custom with greeting elven royalty as an ambassador.

"Your majesty" Valen began."I wish to discuss a very grave matter with you, I have come a long way since Elzier has fallen, and I beg you to hear my words." Valen's face was grave, the thoughts running through his head made it that way, thinking of the possibilities what could happen. Valen would wait for the king to reply before he continued.

Instead of replying, the blonde male found himself at one of the shipâ??s corner and playing with the ropes. They wrapped around randomly on his arms, being tugged and tied in strange knots that quickly unraveled themselves. Johnathan sighed at that, before turning to their third ship member and bowed his head at the woman. â??Welcome to the Bastard, maâ??am. I hope Master Nao hasnâ??t been too much of a hassle toâ?¦ interact with.â? more so than usual, that is. But he didnâ??t say that out loud. â??If youâ??d like, I can show you to a temporary quarter that you may utilize until we find somewhere to drop you off.â?

â??Sheâ??ll join us, Lukas. To Lingard~â? the drunken tone came drifting through. The man that the tone was attached to was hanging off his body over the shipâ??s edge, swinging his legs as he balanced on the rail with his abdomen. They were quite high in the sky by this time, the clouds all but caressing the side of the ship, as they sailed smoothly towards their destination.

â??Sire-.â?

â??Wheee~!â?

â??SIRE!â? the squire quickly left his position and moved to grab the drunken man before he flung himself out of the ship just for shits and giggles. â??Please, keep yourself alive while I assist the guest.â? with that, he turned and walked towards Itsuki. Johnathan motioned towards the stairs leading down, before waiting for her to follow him towards the room he was speaking of.

As they shuffled around the ship, the slight light that the Eclipse allowed through began to dim, signaling the darkening peek of evening. The squire had already migrated towards the kitchen, where he was preparing a simple meal for them to dine on, while the ship seemed to just know where to go. Johnathan still had to wonder about how they were going to reenter Lingard with the redheaded woman with them, since outsiders were magically prevented from enteringâ??unless Nao had a planâ??which he highly doubted.

Once the simple broth and bread with meat were done, he trekked his way up towards the deck; half wondering what Itsuki was doing at the moment, as he had left her to do as she pleased after showing her the room. Upon the deck, he paused, staring at the strange sight.

There, under the eerie light, the blonde male danced with a black haired red haired maiden. For a brief second, he had assumed it was Miss Itsuki he was with, but on closer inspection, he realized that it was someone taller, with longer hair and lighter skin. They danced together as if doing the waltz to a song that was only heard by one another, the wind smoothing over them as they glided in perfect synchronization.

It had been quite some time he had seen such clarity in the young masterâ??s eyes, the vibrant blue almost mellowed out with peace instead of the raging silver storm that had taken over in the last few years. No longer dulled with the drug of alcohol, Nao seemed almost normal and refined once more, his body poised as it danced with this maiden. Silver-blue eyes gazed at her with adoration and something akin to longing. It reminded him of something he couldnâ??t quite get a finger on, a figure that lingered in the past.

Andusk.

The name came so easy to his memory that it seemed like the wind had whispered it to him. Johnathan pressed his lips together and continued to watch them, wondering if he was going crazy as well. The man had little necromancy blood in him, so much in fact, that he was able to enter the city only by acceptance of those there, while he couldnâ??t perform any magic like they could, or see spirits beyond the simple nymphs and sprites. Andusk was a higher being than he was able to see, and yet, there she was, the former guard Dragon getting whisked off her feet by the noble once more. There was love in those eyes that reflected back, sparkling under the surface as if trying to be withheld.

So lost in his thoughts, the squire forgot about going to speak to Miss Itsuki as he had planned. Instead, he stood there, staring at the scene with awe. Andusk was beautiful, from her fiery hair that gave her element away, to the soft curves and powerful frame. The song must have slowed in their minds, as the maiden leaned in closer towards the blonde. Just scant centimeters away, two things happened. Johnathan realized that though she could have been a spirit, there was no shadow that was cast from where she stood. Secondly, Nao parted his own lips and gave out a command. â??Donâ??t.â?

And just like that, the spell broke. Andusk took a step back and seemed to fuzz out of reality, blurring her lines and reforming, before seeping down the deck and disappearing. Shadowâ?¦ of course, who else could create such a perfect image of another being? Johnathan watched as the young noble fingered the leather around his neck, briefly wondering why the creature had attempted to kiss, when knowing that it had no permission to do soâ??from what had just transpired.

The squire stared at Nao, unable to formulate a thought on the matter. He told himself he needed to stop staring, because surely Itsuki hadnâ??t stayed in one spot, and he would rather not be caught in either situation of staring or allowing the ogre free range on the ship.

  • "There is very little that comes to mind. His Majesty did not think the matter important enough to take any sort of action other than fortifications of Hieronidan itself when I left this more. However, I believe you all know just how dire the situation really is in the world. If the tales are true, then you were all there when Her Majesty the Queen of Light was murdered. Therefore, I believe you absolutely must make it clear to him that, as it stands now, it isn't just a matter of defending and hoping not to be invaded, but a matter of just when Hieronidan will be invaded. And Sir Valen. . .I thank you for allowing someone such as myself to come along with you on your travels. I'm only sorry that I can not be of more help in the current situation," Arioch said to the eldest knight, bowing her head slightly. She had gone to retrieve her things, and joined with the others as they approached the palace, built within the tallest of trees in the city of Cam.

Centuries ago, when the kingdom was first built, it was said that this very tree was the biggest and most robust tree in all of the Elvanlands, and that the first King decided that this was the place where he wanted his palace to be. So, the architects worked and worked, carving out sections of the tree and building within the halls of the palace. It looked as if a castle had been built through it rather than just inside of it. Truly, it was a sight that left even those who frequently gazed upon it's splendor of awe.

"I shall await your return here," Arioch said a distance away from the main gates of the palace. Any closer, and it was likely that she would place them all in danger. It wasn't everyday that a general abandoned their position, and it was even more rare for a general to approach the palace on the very same day.[/list:u]

    ______________________________
    • The Elven King had been thinking for a time about the confrontation that he had with the youngest of the generals, the young woman from the lowland area's. When he first met her, she was covered with dirt and mud and blood, and yet, she carried herself with dignity and pride. And in her eyes there blazed a fire that would make even the sun weep with jealousy. He had always known that she was fierce and somewhat stubborn, but never would he have imagined that she would so quickly cast away all that she worked for and built because she believed in a matter so deeply. Truly, it was hard to know if he should be impressed with her gall, or insulted that she had done such a thing.

Word came that the Windwalker, the Champion Knight, was requesting audience with the king. The High Elf long thought Valen and the other knight's dead, as they completely disappeared after the death of the Queen of Light. To suddenly be visited by someone claiming to be the knight champion on the same day? Surely, this was just coincidence. But no, here he was standing before the King of High Elves Sauren Acarissat himself, wishing to discuss something? The king lowered his head for a moment, thinking carefully about what the matter could be.

Suddenly, the man rose from his throne, the guards tensing as he descended the steps before him, his long golden hair flowing impossibly as he walked, his robs dancing as his feet carried him down the finely woven red carpet, past the earthen columns that lead up to the intricately carved throne behind him. Each and every one of the guards tensed as he passed wondering just what their king was doing. The sun-kissed skin of the elf seemed to glow, as if radiating the light of the sovereign star itself. Clearly, there was something very different about himself and the high elf that they met, something outside of the noble aura that the king carried that was. The king stood before Valen and the other knights, as well as their hooded companion and his tiger, his deep green eyes carefully examining their faces.

"By the Gods. . .we all thought you dead! Where. . .no. Now is not the time for such questions. You sought audience, and it is granted. Speak freely Windwalker. What is it you wish to discuss with me," Sauren asked.[/list:u]

  • Nothing. Neither the young squire nor the mad drunk said anything of her being what she was. Instead, she was treated with respect, like people normally treated people. Which meant that these were either very liberal people, or, they themselves were perhaps not merely human themselves. And this ship was apparently called the Bastard. If she weren't so confused at the moment, Itsuki would have laughed at the name. Apparently, the drunk was of noble lineage - she never would have guessed such a thing. Not as she looked at him like this, hanging over the guard rail of a ship like a kid. Jus' what in the hell've ah gotten mahself into, she thought. This ship was heading towards Lingard. . .that was back towards the east, closer to the eastern kingdom. Wasn't it? It was a strange place that very few people ever visited. She wondered what the place was like.

After being shown her room, Itsuki decided to stay there for a time. She deeply contemplated her presence there, where she was going, and just how to react to the situation. After an hour or so worth of thought, she decided that thinking about it too much was pointless. Her money was gone and she had nowhere else to go. If the people where she was being taken decided to kill her, they would have to fight to do so. If not? Then she was just lucky. Just like that, her good mood was restored and the ogre decided to wander the Bastard, as sitting in that room had become all too boring.

She found, as she wandered, the most unexpected of sights. The drunken noble seemed sober as he danced along with a dark haired woman, the two of them moving with such grace and beauty that she found herself unable to speak a word. Her eyes followed them both, the sharpened pupils capturing every movement. All up until Nao spoke that one word - and then, the figure of the maiden faded away into. . .that thing. It had the same feeling as the thing that traveled around with Lin, her guardian, the one she called Shawn.

The red haired woman dropped down onto the deck from above, landing silently before the noble. If anything were going to give the squire a heart attack, it would be seeing that the ogre had indeed been roaming the halls of the ship. "Ya know, you never answered mah question ah asked you when we got on this ship. Ya said ya found her, Lin that is. And now, I see you with that thing. . .seems jus' like tha thing she was travelin' with. Gives me tha same creeps an' all. Called it Shawn, said it was her guard ah think. Care ta tell me just 'why that is exactly now, sir? Or were ya jus' yankin' mah chain?"[/list:u]

"We would have been dead if it were not for the intervention of an old ally" Valen spoke after the king did. The king would not ask how they survived, but Valen was not for leaving the monarch's question unanswered. It was important he knew just how dire the knight's situation was, how dire the world's situation was. Some of the races would turn them down, those who were willing to simply have the king rule over them instead of fight... Valen's face grew more grim "We have been making our way here during this time. The king's troops were hunting us, so we had to tread carefully" Valen scowled. The King's troops were actively hunting them down.

"The matter I have to discuss is very important... the continued safety and freedom of the known world." Valen was worried how the King would feel about what he had to say, to join them once they had their amulet and once they had collected armies from the other races. "King Vayne, from Lassadar has made his move, The Queen is the only woman who could stop him, and now she is dead... you can see the results of the events that have happened." Valen pointed up, gesturing to the moon that covered the sun that once gave the land it's needed light.

"We need the aid of your people, your kingdom if we want to defeat the King of Darkness, if we are to free Elzier from his grasp and protect the rest of the world, we need your help. The Elzier resistance is not enough to defeat the King's well trained army, we need all the help we can get" Valen lifted his hand, checking the wound on his back, the one gandrian had given to him right before he turned and killed the queen. "If we fail, or if we do nothing, the eclipse will be eternal, all life will slowly die, and the king will conquer all, everything. We need the assistance of the elves in resisting the King, to end this eclipse and free the world from his grasp!"

Valen knew they could win, he was willing to stake his life on it, he was willing to give up everything to save the world from the King's dark influence. Valen knew that Vayne would stop at nothing to obtain world conquest, he had said it himself before Valen was pulled through the window to freedom and life... Valen would have willingly fought all the foes in that room if he had to, but he couldn't. Valen knew that if the three knights and their companions united the world, and found the Amulet, they could win this battle against the darkness. Valen's eyes strengthened, new resolve coming over him when he again looked to the king, dropping to one knee before him and bowing his head slightly "Please, I beg you, aid us when the time comes"

  • The Elven King grew silent for a time, his eyes fixed upon the knight that stood before him. Somehow, he was alive. He managed to survive the invasion of Elzier, and had to have fought through overwhelming odds to get here. They were being hunted down by the King of Darkness, risking life and limb here to Hieronidan. The king should have known that a resistance had formed, that the people of Elzier wouldn't have given up so easily. . .but to throw his weight behind and rebellion? Wasn't that dangerous? To oppose Vayne in such a direct way was inviting an attack upon his homeland and his people. That was something that Sauren wasn't necessarily willing to do.

More than that, he was tired of the subject. He lost a talented and promising general in a discussion about this very thing, and several other high ranking officers and officials who were opposed to doing nothing. They all thought the same thing - that by not taking action and waiting here, they risked much more than they did by doing nothing. Valen's plea was serious, passionate. The king had never seen the young man like this before. With a sigh, he turned away from the odd looking group and walked back towards the throne. "I thought you would ask something like that," he said softly.

"We, the Elves of Hieronidan have remained neutral for centuries, much like the Dragons of the Long Empire. The squabbles between humans and other such creatures have all been things that have affected us, but never anything like this. My advisers are lost, the Elders convinced that the end of days is upon us, and despite the looks of the people, they are terrified. I am reluctant to send my forces into a battle that they have no chances of winning Valen. But. . .if you can show me that this is a cause with even the slightest chance of victory, if you can gain the support of other kingdoms, the blades of the Elven guard will stand beside you, and the arrows of our finest archers will land upon any and all who stand in your way," the king said, seating himself upon the throne once more. He thought it to be a fair deal, to stand with a strong united army if he were to fight against Vayne in war.

"I can't promise you anymore than that for now without causing anymore conflict within the the leaders here. I am sorry Valen. I wish you luck in your quest for allies, and I hope you can gather the support that would be needed to convince the leaders of Hieronidan to aid you." [/list:u]

Brand made sure to keep his mouth shut as he listened to what the others had planned to do in the presence of the Elvin King. Not that the youngest had much to say on the matter, but he wondered if his opinion would be useful at the moment. Then again, he was sure that they had it handled, so instead of asking them what would happen if they were given aid, he just allowed Valen and Altima to make the decisions as always. While he understood that Arioch didnâ??t want to come with them, he gave Tsuâ??Ro a hopeful smile, as he would have liked for the Naturalist to join them, if not for show that others have joined the cause, then as a friend supporting them.

When Valen literally stepped off the balcony, the blonde had half a mind to step off with himâ??what a fast way to get down! Of course, he didnâ??t have mastery of the wind on his side, so instead of the ease of â??stepsâ?? down to the ground, he fumbled against the rail for a few minutes. The fear of heights finally caught up, so he decided to get down the regular way with the others. Darnsâ?¦ why couldnâ??t I have been born with a cool element like windâ?¦ he mentally whined, a pout plumping his lips.

The trip towards the Citadelâ??s throne room was done so without words, each lost in their own thoughts it appeared. Upon entering the throne room, Brand pressed his lips together to prevent himself from blurting out the first thing that came to mind. It would have been rude, especially since he could see how majestic the area wasâ??they must have spent some time just to build it. The lightning knight saw the beauty in the structures and lively atmosphere that the Elves had, but as he had spent most of his time in the Northern Kingdom, he had the Dragonâ??s culture as his ethnocentric lenses. In a sense, Brand even felt trapped in the room, as he was used to the vastness of Longâ??s throne room, spanning out to be buildingâ??s long and wide, so that the Dragons could gather in their true forms if wished. It fact, he hadnâ??t realized his change in growth earlier on, because he spent most of his time in Long, where everything was super-sized.

The maids in the area stared at the knights and a few gave silent giggles. Brand misinterpreted the giggles, used to those around him scoffing at the idea that he was a knight, so to compensate and show that he was as grand as any knight, he stood up taller. Unfortunately, the maids were giggling at the sight of their Champion Knight now standing shorter than whom they knew to be the Youngest Knight, and Brand standing up taller only served to add onto the irony of puberty.

At the admission that they were not to receive a solid answer to their request for aid, the blonde felt his shoulders slump just a fraction. At least, thatâ??s what he felt. In the eyes of others, he perhaps resembled more of a kicked puppy, his entire body deflating and if he had a tail, it would have been tucked away in defeat. Brand wanted to speak up and ask the Elvin King many things, such as why he had to even think about lending aid in this situation, or why he was seemingly challenging Valen.

The wind knight had dedicated his life protecting the Elvin kingdom, so the injustice stung just to see. Elziar had fallen to protect the four kingdoms, taking damaging blows more than countable over the years and strives, and yet in their time of need, it seemed that the allied kingdoms receded to remain â??neutralâ??. He knew that on the flipside, the Elvin King was only doing as he saw fit to protect his people, but the question of loyalty still stuck its prickly thrones thorough his being.

Instead of asking the questions that floated around in his mind though, he gave Valen an encouraged smile as bright as any flash of his lightning. There was no doubt in his mind that the eldest knight was going to be able to prove to the Elvin King that they only had victory in their futureâ??after all, Valen was the Champion Knight.

With the Eclipse shadowing the vibrant sun that gave them warmth and light, despite it being the time for sunset, all that was illuminating the sky was the same wax glow that surrounded them. Once Shadow had faded away into wherever he came from in the first place, the drunken blonde just stood there and goofily stared out into nothing. He appeared so out of it that he barely flinched when Itsuki began to fire questions at him, despite not knowing that she had joined them on deck. Them, as he could clearly see Johnathan standing towards the side.

While it wasnâ??t one of his best ideas, Nao found himself slinking over towards the ogre with more stumble and fumble than the desired sexual walk he was aiming for. â??No chain is being yanked, but feel free to yank mine.â? he teased, a salacious grin spreading itself over his lips, stretching one end just a fraction higher than the other that bordered a smirk.

â??Sire, now is not that time to flirt.â?

Instead of responding to the Squire, Nao only crept up closer towards the redhead. â??As for the otherâ?¦ thingsâ?¦ questionsâ?¦ topic. I have found Lin~! Sheâ??s here and thereâ??you know, everywhere. Oh, and Shawn? Yeah, heâ??s good. Donâ??t be afraid of him, he doesnâ??t bite. Well, not when youâ??ve trained him.â? at this, he leaned in closer as if to tell her a secret. His words were jumbled as if he wasnâ??t quite sure he was speaking. â??Heâ??s special, you know? Donâ??t think he has more than two thoughts to rub togetherâ??BUT!â? suddenly, he jumped back as if lightning struck him. â??You didâ??t hear that from me. Donâ??t tell him that. He getâ??s bitchy when others talk about him. SHHHHHH, you guys, donâ??t gossip, because he can see you too!â?

Johnathan blinked a few times, wondering if Shadow was even around at the moment to listen to the young noble rant away. Then again, Shadow was always around when Nao was, following him and protecting him, even when they didnâ??t always get along. Despite all the down points that Nao had to say about the being, Shadow was a unique creature to the necromancy world. A spirit that derived from the necromancerâ??s own soul wasnâ??t unique as it happened often times, but Shadow had not only remained long after his use, the creature took on its own personality after stealing a bit from Nao, and sometimes, the Squire had to wonder if the blonde had control over Shadow any longer.

Clearing his throat, he turned his attentions towards Itsuki, rather than focus on the rambling drunk. â??I wouldnâ??t worry too much about whomever you speak of. The moon plays tricks on the eyes more often than not, Ladyâ?¦?â? he trailed off, hoping to get her name out of this.

â??Itsuki! Isnâ??t she just a doll, Lukas?â? Nao filled in, nearly plastering himself against the redheaded woman this time. â??Oh, shoo shoo!â? he waved towards the air, as if flies were hovering over the orge. â??You guys know better than to follow a lady around like thatâ??why, one would think you were perverts!â? the blonde made an exaggerated gasp and proceeded to swing at the air above Itsukiâ??s head. Once satisfied at shooing whatever he was talking to, he tried to tug her with him. â??Come, Iâ??m hungry~ Iâ??m sure Lukas has made dinner. Youâ??ve made dinner, havenâ??t you? Lukaaaaas~?â?

An annoyed twitch made itself known on the Squireâ??s temple, and Johnathan wondered if anyone would notice if he threw Nao overboard. â??Lady Itsukiâ?¦ are you ready for dinner?â? he asked, trying to remain politeâ??especially if Nao wasnâ??t.

Tsu'Ro admired Knight Valen's grace as he simply stepped off the balcony...without a care--seemingly. He smiled a little to himself. How nice it must have been to have such an elegant element as wind on one's side. Gliding, flying even...must have come along with such a power... such a carefree element... The mere sight almost compelled the taller male to leap off the banister as well. He couldn't glide, and he sure couldn't make himself float gracefully to the ground as Valen could, but what Tsu could do was use his element. It wouldn't have been hard to summon a tree's thick root to come to meet him while he leaped off the banister. He would use said branch to lower him, Brand, and the two girls down to the ground. Not Firu however...he wasn't a fan of heights.... Speaking of people not a fan of heights... hazel eyes caught sight of Brand catching wind of his own phobia for heights.

The simple thought of using his own element to quickly get down from the balcony flew from his mind as quickly as it came when he noticed Brand. He didn't want to do anything to enhance Brand's fear anymore than it already was....but perhaps he needed such to rid himself of a silly phobia like that. Anyhow, he wouldn't test the theory right then...perhaps later when they had a bit more leisure time on their hands. Yes, when the time was right he would try and help his friend get over his complication with heights...show him the beauty of seeing things from a bird's eye view. Firu followed closely by Tsu as the tall brunette followed the others down the stairs. Things were awfully quiet as they descended the stairs and he had a feeling the silence would only grow as they headed for the throne room...leaving his mind to wander...which he never really liked.

And it turned out the Naturalist's feelings were right. The silence did only grow and he felt slightly out of place without any side chatter to distract him. As they continued to draw closer and closer to the Citadel's throne room, Tsu'Ro began to ponder if perhaps he should take his hood off. Everyone's face was able to be seen...but his. He noticed from the way Valen talked of speaking to the Elven King that it would be difficult to sway the elder man. He hoped he was just exaggerating...but if Tsu'Ro knew nothing about the elves there was one thing he did know -- they were very stubborn creatures... With that thought in mind he sighed to himself. Not, wanting to jeopardize the way the Elven King was to think of his comrades and their proposition Tsu'ro pulled his hood down from his head. Running pale fingers through his dark silken locks, he brushed back his hair revealing his perfect bone structure. He was sure to keep his collar high and the brushed back hair close around his neck, only leaving the single rose at the center able to be seen.

Tsu watched as Valen tried to appeal to the King's better half. He honestly thought the male was making a point. All that he said was true... The longer the eldest went on Tsu began to stand tall and proud as well hoping to enhance and appeal to the king's behalf as well. Perhaps if they looked as presentable as their proposal then the King would simply agree. However, it seemed the King didn't even think before he refused. What the hell was the matter with him? Did he really think just sitting by and watching idly that the King of Darkness will just spare them?! All because they've been neutral for....what seemed like forever?! Foolish King... Even though he tried to spiff his response up by adding, he would come to their aid only if Valen summoned other kingdoms to help....didn't make his refusal sound any better.

He just wanted to tear their kingdom apart, use the nature around them to destroy everything they worked so hard to achieve to show how futile it is to sit by and watch...to show them that everything can be torn away just as quickly as the Kingdom of Light was. The sounds of elven maidens pleading for their lives, the surprised gasps and commands from the watchful eyes of the guards and the king himself filled his head as....the scene continued...the glorious sight of the floors crumbling beneath them as the roots all around consume and constricted until they could no longer scream...or breathe for that matter. However, such an action would have hindered their cause, and even cost the group their lives and their causes. With a sigh, he tried not to think about the bad nor his murderous thoughts. Perhaps gathering other places would be a good start... or perhaps it was just another way of sending Valen and them away....

Valen gazed up at the king, the resolution never fading once from his golden eyes. He rose slowly from his kneeling position, The king refused him, quite strongly, stating of course that the Elves had done so well remaining 'neutral' for so long. Valen was simply crushed, and the look on his face reflected that. Somehow he knew the King would turn him down quickly, though it gave him at least a little hope that Sauren did at least acknowledge that he would try to give aid, even if it had a requirement attached to it.

"The elves may have remained neutral for centuries, but Elves, Men, Dwarves, and Dragons all did fight side by side long ago, together they defeated a force that would have spelled the end for all life on this world, we face a similar threat today from a dark power that is no less dangerous than the last. Individually, none of our people stand a chance against this dark empire, even the Dragons will eventually be besieged and likely exterminated... but together we do have that chance of victory, we can win." Valen assured the king, he knew the legends of the Great King that long ago united all the races together under one banner against the darkness plaguing the land, if only Kali were here, she could easily convince the elves to side with them. Valen realized he had no chance of securing the elves aid immediately, this would take time. Did the elves plan on simply vanishing? The king would find them eventually, if he got his hands on the amulet there would be no running away from him, no fighting him, all hope would be lost.

Shortly after, Valen sighed in defeat.

"Very well, your majesty, I will not debate your order. I will go and attempt to gather the other kingdoms to our aid. The Elzier resistance will only be able to hold the king off for so long without aid, it is only a matter of months before he is at the borders of your forest, whether the elves lend their aid or not. Vayne took Elzier in less than a day, he has forces working for him that are not natural" Valen warned the king, keeping his tone very respectful, his head bowed. "I will try to return swiftly, and I thank you for listening to my plea, Lord Sauren, I wish you safety and prosperity." Valen bowed again and spun on his heel, turning towards his comrades with a grim frown on his face as he did. "Let's go" He said grimly, turning and walking towards the doors of the throne room, to the area outside, where his stance slackened a bit, shoulders slumping slightly.

Altima had followed Valen and the others into the throne room to speak with the king, but she kept her opinions to herself. Though she did answer when she was spoken to, she didn't offer any commentary on the subject matter but she could easily see that it was going badly for them because the elves were dumbasses on the subject. When it was all said and done, Ally was more than disappointed with them and was visibly smoldering, an ability unique to her, when she got mad she was literally on fire and her temper was visible in the amounts of smoke or haze she produced. Once they were outside of the throne room she seemed to explode some, looking like a mirage in the desert with the amount of heat haze she had going. "That guy is an idiot" she muttered, only loud enough for the others or the party to hear her.

"He wants to think that he's safe from what's going to happen if he stays hidden in the forest. Yeah what happens when the Dark King swarms in, lights it all on fire and slaughters everything under them so they have no infrastructure and no soldiers because they got caught with their pants down. She wanted to add something lewd to it but thought better of making mention of it at least until they were out of the castle. But once they were, a short amount of time because they had to made some degree of haste to get out again and find the amulet; she spoke up. "Valen, this was a total waste of time and effort it seems." she finally said. "They're going to get their asses kicked then start crying for help when it's all their fault for not being ready beforehand when they had fair warning." she said.

Altima would continue to pour explanations that were getting tangled up in each other iin her frustration with the situation as a whole. Eventually she'd calm down once they were out into the city again. "So where do we go from here?" she asked them. "We still have something to do even though it looks like we're not going to get any help at all from our gracious hosts." she said, clearly being sarcastic.

  • "Tis safe to say your efforts proved as fruitful as my own, I see. Not unexpected, though I must admit I believed Lord Valen would have a better chance that a mere inexperienced General would. It can't be helped I suppose, such is the way of my people. Unfortunately," Arioch said, suddenly appearing before the group. It was hard not to feel the explosion of Altima's anger move through the calm forest, and even easier to find the source of the sudden disturbance. Even the children in the city would have been able to track her from the opposite side of it. For a trained scout, doing such a thing took very little effort, especially when the heat haze continued to grow around her.

"I do believe that I have an answer for your question, though, Lady Altima. Though I fear that you will like what I am about to suggest," Arioch said, turning her attention toward the group's leader. "While you were meeting with the King, I took the opportunity to gather a bit of information. Luckily, many of my sources here haven't let my sudden change in status deter their will to give me assistance. To the point - there is some trouble here in Hieronidan. The Seer. . .something strange is happening around her shrine. I've heard tales of the very land itself warping around it, the trees, even people, suddenly crystallizing. . .it. . .is most difficult to put into words. I could not even begin to fathom the reason for such things happening. It's not odd for strange things to happen around the shrine but it's never been anything like this. She refuses to see anyone now but I believe that if. . ."

With a sigh, she folded her arms and took a deep breath. There was no easy way to say what she was about to say. "My King has refused you aid, but this is. . .this is an entirely different situation. The people here. . .even though he may lead them to their demise, innocent people are being harmed. I believe that. . .this is something that we should look into," Arioch said, stumbling over her words. Her voice sounded foreign to herself as she tripped over her words. Normally, she spoke with an even tone and a great amount of confidence, but here she stood with the eyes of her new traveling companions all on her. It made her feel small before them.[/list:u]

He knew it wasnâ??t his place to speak up. He knew it wasnâ??t his fault that the Elvin King was hesitant towards lending them help. How could anyone have faith in knights that had failed in protecting the Queen Cecelia? But despite knowing that, Brand couldnâ??t help the slight deflate of his shoulders when they were led out of the throne room and towards where they met Arioch. Upon seeing her though, he was reminded that they werenâ??t fighting for the royals of the world. Not the races or the trust that they had lost. No, they were fighting for lemonade.

â?¦

No, wait.

The blonde had to remind himself that lemonade was what he craved at the moment, not what he should prioritize before the mission. But on second thought, the idea of having a hard, lemon flavored candy piece to suck on made his mouth watered. Maybe after they checked this strange place out and before they left Hieronidan, they could stop at a shop to buy some. Hopefully the others would be in a good enough mood to stop by to do some shoppingâ?¦ or maybe he should just throw their pack of supplies somewhere and hope that they would notice and they would all need to make a pit stop to pick up new suppliesâ??of which he could go get some of what he wanted. Who knows, maybe on the way to this tower that the other Elf spoke of, they would use up most of their supplies.

Determined one way or another, he cleared his throat and smiled brightly at Arioch. â??That might be a good idea.â? he spoke up, opting to give his opinion at last. â??Perhaps itâ??ll give us leads to where a shard might be. It has been some time that weâ??ve felt their presence.â? the blonde noted. Even as he spoke though, he was already heading towards the general direction that was towards the Seerâ??s maze, hoping that his companions were coming to the same conclusion that he was. If Valen or Altima decided that this wasnâ??t worth pursuing though, he would have to think of a different way to deplete their supplies before they left the kingdom. It wasnâ??t hard to take note where it was, since the beginning of the maze was marked with prayer stones and an abundant of plant growthsâ??more than the other places in comparison.

At the entrance, he poked at the statues that had been placed there as respect to the sky, suns and earth. Large bulks of leaf designs, roots, fire symbols and what he assumed to be clouds. They were so old, unattended to for some odd reasonâ??everyone seemed to avoid this areaâ??that the simple poke to the leaf statue caused the tip to break off.

Brand took a step away from it and placed his hands behind his back, taking on an innocent look that he had perfected since living with Ranis and all her breakable objects.
