Chris was blown away by Joann's... proposal. "Yeah," he said, shyly. "I'd like that... a lot. Maybe where we could just get away and talk a bit more... by ourselves."
In his mind, he got to thinking where they might go.
"Say," he said, a bit more hopefully, "on the edge of the campus, beyond the tennis courts there's a pond there... I don't know the name... but I know there are some benches there, under some shade trees. If you'd like, we could go there. How's that sound?"
As he asked the question, he was aware that his heart was starting to race. He wasn't sure what it was about her, but he felt really at home in her presence. He hoped she wouldn't be in a hurry for their time together to end.
