Kithiel watched Joshua in amusement when he showed how... fiesty he was. He slanted a glare at the vendor for touching him, though accepted the key, turning it between his fingers a few times before wiggling it at his glaring pet. "Maybe you want this instead?" He tsk'ed softly and unlocked the cage before opening the door, not quite daring to put his hands within biting range just yet. It was far too early to be creating reasons for punishment.

He spun the collar on his finger. "I'm not going to come in there after you, and I assure you I'm infinitely more patient than you. Plus I've eaten today." He smirked faintly and pulled out a piece of chocolate from his pocket, for once thankful for his brother's sweet tooth. "Be a good boy and slip on the collar, and I'll let you have this," he purred.

Joshua's eyes narrowed before widening, chocolate. His stomach growled a little and joshua returned the noise with a snarl of his own. No he wasn't gonna slip that stupid collar on. He glared at the man. As long as he didn't reach in here Joshua was fine. Then an idea hit, maybe if he acted like he was going to come out, he could nab the chocolate and get away before the man could catch him. He slide forward a bit on his knees gouging how much room he had to escape.
"You'll never get the little devil out that way!" The vendor roared and promptly flipped the crate upside down and shook joshua out. He land on his bruised arm which of course tore a yelp from him. He scrambled to is feet trying to escape the collar before he could be caught, but the vendor reached a lightning quick hand out and grasped the back on his neck. Immediately, joshua stilled. His only weapon he had left was his glare which he fixed on the man in front of him, dare and pleading with him not to put the collar on.

Kithiel narrowed his eyes as the vendor interfered, raising an eyebrow at the yelp before standing upright again, slipping the chocolate back into his pocket. Ah well, it would likely come in handy later. He absently brushed his now-free hand against the imaginary specks of dirt on his pants. He ignored the pleading look and reached over while the vendor held Joshua, fastening the collar around his neck and closing the tiny lock at the back to ensure it stayed in place. He gave a light tug on the leash to pull Joshua closer, reaching down to run his fingers against the tail. Someone needed a thorough scrubbing and brushing.

"Where do I sign?" he asked, following the vendor to fill out the paperwork and complete the transaction. Once finished, he slipped his sunglasses on and gave another tug on the leash as he turned to head for the exit, pulling out his phone to send a text to his brother telling him he was leaving and he could find his own way home.

Tears prickled at Joshua's eyes and he hung his head. Of course he knew it was going to happen. It wasn't like he was going to be able to live without a master anyway. He bristled at the touch on his tail and tried to turn away. "Don't touch me!" He snarled and flashed his teeth.

"Right 'ere" He vendor said happily sliding the papers across the desk. Joshua stood quietly beside his master, a little defeated, but his mind whirling to find a way to escape. As his master led the way out of the shop Joshua suck in a deep breath, bracing himself for...well he had no idea. he trotted alongside his new master easily keeping pace with him. His eyes flicked everywhere watching the people hurry past, the clouds stroll along and a his ears flicked trying to keep track of all the sounds h was hearing. Joshua's eyes widened. The word was much bigger then he remembered.

Kithiel snickered quietly and let the snarl pass for the moment. His pet would get used to being touched sooner or later. He flicked dark auburn hair out of his eyes and squinted against the sunlight as he adjusted his sunglasses. He moved to the street, tapping a foot a few times as he waited for his driver to get past the traffic. He flicked his fingers at the driver when he pulled up to show he was in a hurry and opened the back door himself, sliding in and keeping a firm grip on the leash to pull Joshua in behind him by force if he had to. "Close the door behind you."

He sat back against the seat with a soft hum and took the opportunity to look Joshua over from head to toe. "Any skills outside of glaring and snarling?" he asked.

Joshua climbed in clumsily, and slammed the door behind him. He glared at his new master and turned to the window, "Biting, fighting, and..." escaping, he added silently. best keep that to himself. He curled up in the seat trying to disappear all together and keep as far away from the man who bought him too. "I don't need skills." Growled keeping his head low. What did he expect? a butler? Joshua snorted, he was a wolf. not a puppy to be toyed with. He wasn't about to parade around in some confining waist coat like a preforming monkey. So angry was the little wolf e didn't realise he was speaking aloud.

Kithiel's lips twitched and he was torn between amusement and anger. He slowly curled the long leash around his fingers, watching it shorten. "I had a monkey once. They're not as great as people seem to think. Nasty little shits, really. Was glad to be rid of it." He shortened the leash a bit further until it was taut between them. "You're far from a monkey. While I admire that fighting spirit, the first time you bite me, you'll be wearing a gag or muzzle for a week. Now, surely you have some other skills?" he asked, tugging the leash. "You haven't had any previous owners. Are you still a virgin?"

Joshua's head whipped up confused. "Virgin?" He mutter frowning. What did that have to do with anything? His frown deepened and his lip raised in a silent snarl, "If you're asking if I have pups, I don't." He growled and tried to pull back against the ropes. He stared at the taut rope and jerked his head back, trying to gain some slack. No way he was coming closer. He bared his teeth a bite and jerked again. "Let go." He snarled, "We're in a car, I can't really escape here."

Kithiel snorted softly and kept a firm grip on the leash, keeping it taut but not pulling further for the moment. "You're a but too young to have your own pups, aren't you? Mmm, how old are you, 15, 16?" He hadn't paid much attention to the details in the paperwork, they weren't always accurate anyway when the product was kept in such poor conditions. He gave up on the virgin topic and figured he had plenty of time to find out. He unwound the leash a single loop. Joshua likely had fleas anyway. Definitely needed a scrubbing and brushing.

Joshua frowned and concentrated. How old WAS he? He tried counting the years that had gone by but couldn't so he gave himself a good guess. "18." He said quietly. The hair on the back of his neck prickled and he glared out the window. "How much farther?" He demanded. His empty stomach gave a low growl and he frowned squeezing an arm around it trying to muffle the obnoxious sound. The houses flying by had become much grander than the little hovel the vendor had lived in and he stared curiously at each one. Who was this guy? Normally rich elite went after the little cat and fox girls. Not very many wanted a scruffy wolf boy. His ear flicked back and he turned his gaze to the man who was supposed to be his master. He sized him up a bit slightly cocking his head.

"Mmm?" Kithiel glanced around at the street to see where they were. "Not too much further. Five or ten minutes." He glanced at Joshua at the sound of his stomach. "When's the last time you ate? I suppose you'll want lunch before a bath?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he noticed Joshua...sizing him up. He smirked and unwound the leash one more loop. "What are you hungry for?" If Joshua was really eighteen, he'd likely been starved through a growth spurt or two, which wasn't all that surprising. "I think there's some steak left from last night if you're a good boy and can stop snarling for the rest of the ride."

Joshua frowned again, "Um yesterday... I think?" but he looked back at his owner for a moment. What was he hungry for? He got to choose?but when Kithiel mentioned steak. That was it. Steak. Joshua's mouth watered. He immediately snapped his mouth tight his eyes wide and hopeful. Hopefully he wasn't just joking. His stomach gurgled again and joshua clasped an arm around it again. "wait bath?" He looked back up, "I get a bath too?" His face was full of questions.

Kithiel couldn't help but laugh. "You smell like the Market, of course you're taking a bath." Oh, this one would be fun. It'd been too long since he'd given in to the urge to have a pet. He hummed softly and glanced out the window as they neared the edge of the city, pointing toward a brick-and-stone house coming into view. "There's your new home." The front yard had a tree on either side and a trail of green bushes and vibrant flowers on either side of the driveway.

He slid out of the car as they stopped and lightly tugged the leash. "Come on if you want your steak." He unlocked the door and lead the way inside to the decent sized, spotless kitchen, rummaging through the fridge a moment before finding the leftover steaks. "Do you want it like this or warmed up?" he asked, putting one on a plate.

Joshua stared at the house. Who ever his new master was, he wasn't stingy on money. The house was beautiful. Clambering out of the car he trotted into the house after his master. As they made their way through the house he tried to catch a glimpse of the rooms they passed. This place was huge! The kitchen though, was by far, his favorite. This time his stomach fairly roared, he stared hungrily at the steak and frowned, he didn't want to wait for it to warm up.

Then he glanced at his master, "Do I really get it? Or do I have to perform a trick first?" He asked warily. He had heard too many stories from pets brought back to the vendor. Of how their masters had treated them as dogs, expecting tricks and entertainment. Some of the females told worse horror stories. Joshua looked his master over. HE didn't look like he was too much of a threat, After all Joshua was a wolf. If things went wrong he could always escape and run away. He reached a hand halfway out to the plate, not sure if he was allowed to just take it or not.

Kithiel studied Joshua a moment before pushing the plate the rest of the way towards him. "Plenty of time for tricks later," he said. "I don't make a habit of starving my pets." He filled a glass of water and set it next to Joshua. "Eat up. I figure it'll take nearly an hour to get you thoroughly cleaned." He fixed a cup of tea for himself and leaned against the counter to let Joshua eat, watching to make sure he didn't end up choking if he tried to scarf it down.

Joshua gratefully took the plate with the stake then and swallowed. His mouth was watering and then without ceremony scarfed down the steak. Within a minute the steak was gone and the plate was clean. Taking one last swallow of water, he couldn't help a satisfied grin from spreading across his face. His tail flicked behind him and his ears relaxed. If he got to eat like this who cared what else happened. He looked over at his master and jerked his chin up, "Now what?" He asked, almost insolently. But he did manage to hold in the growl he was all too familiar speaking with.

"So you can smile." Kithiel's lips twitched a bit at the familiarity of a flicking tail. He finished his tea and put the dishes in the sink. "First things first. I need a drop of your blood," he said, keeping a grip on the leash as he reached into a drawer for a small, sharp knife. He held his hand out expectantly. "Just a drop, it won't hurt much unless you make me take it by force."

Joshua flew out of the chair and across the room only to be jerk back by his leash. "No." He said, his voice coming out in a half strangled breath. His ears pinned back and he eyed the man warily. He kept jerking on the leash pulling away. then reaching up he yanks on the leash with one hand, the other went to his neck to pull the collar away from his throat. He bared his teeth and growled.

Kithiel sighed softly and silently counted to ten as he kept an unyielding grip on the leash. The ceilings in nearly every room had a design that made them look like vines, though looking closely would reveal they were indeed living plants. "That wasn't a request," he said quietly as a pair of vines dropped down and wound themselves around Joshua. He waited until his pet had been restrained before gripping Joshua's wrist with one hand, bringing the knife to the tip of his finger with his other. He pricked the skin with a bit more force than necessary, squeezing it until a drop of blood had swelled up, setting the knife aside and holding his hand out where another vine dropped down to place a seed in his hand. With a quick dab he coated the seed in Joshua's blood and stepped back as the vines released him. "Such hassle for something so simple... Are you ready for a bath now or do I have to force you to do that as well?" he asked with a faint smirk. He wouldn't mind; it'd be less of a hassle and more of a chance to irritate his little wolf further.

Joshua struggled against the vines, straining to get away from the plants. It took him a minute to realise they were plants. Moving. By themselves. His head whipped up and he stared, wide eye at his master, "You're one of those magic users!" He exclaimed but his attention was cut short by the gleam of the knife. His whole body tensed and he tried to tear his arm away from the vines, but the little stab of pain was over before he knew it and he eyed the bloody seed warily half expecting it to do something.

"I can bathe my self." He growled, as soon as the vines had released him. He snarled at the smug look on his master's face and went to stand at the end of the leash.

"Oh I have no doubt about your ability, only your willingness." He picked up a shallow bowl and put a little water in it before dropping the seed in and licking the smear of blood off his fingers. "I'm not exactly a wizard, but I do have some affinity with plants," Kithiel added, heading out of the kitchen to the guest bathroom on the bottom floor. Most of the flooring in the house was a bamboo wood that complimented the green vibes on the ceilings and sometimes walls. The bathroom was elegant in its simplicity, if white marble tiles could be considered simple. "Strip and hop in," he said, gesturing to the tub large enough two could comfortably fit.

Joshua trotted after him, his tail swishing behind him and his ears pinned back. He kept brushing his long bangs out of his eyes trying to keep track of where they were going. After all if he was going to live there he needed to know how to get around. He stopped at the doorway to the bathroom, hesitant to step into such a clean space. after all, he was filthy. At his master's command Joshua glanced at the tub. He looked back at his master and frowned. "I don't need supervision. I won't drown myself." He said tartly.

"Perhaps not, but you are... filthy," Kithiel said with a slight curl of his lip. "And you reek of the Market. You'll be here an hour without help, and I intend to check your body for injuries." He tugged Joshua into the bathroom and made another face as the better lighting showed just how dirty his pet really was. "Don't even bother stripping until you're in the tub. Those clothes are getting tossed," he muttered, reaching to turn the water on and filling the tub with hot water. He slanted an impatient look at Joshua if he continued fighting stripping in his presence. "If you're worried about me seeing or touching, I promise I have more pressing concerns at the moment," he added in amusement.

Joshua blushed and promptly clambered into the tub bracing his bare feet on the bottom, he pulled his shirt over his head, all the while muttering about how it wasn't that he was afraid his master would touch him, it was that he didn't LIKE to be touched. Finally pulling off his pants he hurriedly sat down in the hot water, trying to hide just how small he really was. His body was thin, no real muscles anywhere, but it was covered in bruises and one arm was starting to turn purple from here he'd been using it as a battering ram against his cage door. pushing his bangs out of his face he sat there, ears back and tail tucked, head on knees. Scratches covered most of his body and the odd puckered scar could be found on his legs and back, nothing to him out of the ordinary. He looked at his master again and huffed. He felt like a pup again. A naughty pup at that.

Kithiel's eyes landed on the bruises and he tsk'ed softly. Bruises and cuts weren't all that uncommon, especially on purchases from the Market, and he was fairly certain the bruises at least were self-inflicted, if unintentional. He tsk'ed again and turned on the shower spigot to drench Joshua completely, pulling a half empty bottle out of the cabinet and pouring a generous amount into his hand. "Scrub your fur with this." It had a strong medicine smell and was specially designed to kill fleas and any other pests that may have been picked up. One could never be too careful, and he'd rather burn the place down than have to clean up a flea or lice infestation. He tugged Joshua's tail up to set to work lathering it from base to tip, not even wanting to think about how long it was going to take to get the knots out of the fur.
